SIP Challenge 52 – Card Maker’s Choice and Year Anniversary Giveaways!

    SIP Header

Wow! Now that was a Monday! LOL! There are so many aspects of running a store that are pretty stressful and irritating! But you take the good with the bad! I was a busy little boy at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. I got my cards put up in a display for sale, finally! Remember the store in Wantagh that wanted my cards, well they still want them! I have to find the time to go over and talk to them about that! Now there will be two places that people can buy the cards! Lots of product ordering issues at the store and none of them have easy fixes. Guess you just keep chugging along! When I got home last night I had some spaghetti at my Parent’s and then came home to Taylor watching The X-Files on Netflix. I love that show and have seen every episode! The rest of the evening was spent getting everything together for today’s SIP post! It’s our one year anniversary! I can’t believe that it’s been a year! We have some fun prizes that we are giving away to our three winners this week too! Each of the Design Team members has contributed something! I have added the Lawn Fawn Stinkin’ Cute Stamps and Dies!

    SIP Any Challenge 52 800

While I was at the store yesterday I was going through the stamps that I brought with me and came across this set that I had wanted last year. I decided to do some Ink Blending! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is cut from a piece of 12 x 12 paper, Bo Bunny’s Believe Line the Marvelous piece. All of the images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp and Dies Set. I heat embossed all of the butterflies in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. They are colored in with Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink using a Dauber. The bodies are stamped in Onyx Black and the they are all cut out using the included Dies. I arranged them on the card and stamped the greeting in Onyx Black and then adhered them all to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Bronze, Ocean Spray Iridescent and Pansy Purple Sequins are scattered about and then card is done! I love those butterflies and I think that they look really cool in the bright colors against that fun paper! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the One Year Anniversary Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Maker’s Choice Challenge! Click below on the NEXT button to go on to Andrea’s blog and see what she has to add to the prize pack and her card! After you have finished the Hop head on over to the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery for a chance to be one of this week’s winners! Thank you very much for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Another weekend for the books. It was day two of the crop and I managed to get a bunch of stuff done while I was at the Stamp, Ink, Paper store despite my sleeping very late! By the way, the new Sleep Number bed… extremely comfortable! I do have a lot of fun seeing the ladies put together their layouts and I like sharing my cards with them. In fact I sold a card in the morning! We all discussed the tragic news of the shooting at the nightclub in Orlando. I have stopped trying to figure out the world that we live in. I make the most of every day, you never know what can happen. When you really take time to think about what goes on all over this planet it’s pretty sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims of that senseless tragedy. I hope that things like this make you hug your family and friends a little tighter for just a little bit longer. Now on to happier things, like placing orders and keeping people crafty! That’s what I’ll be doing!

Today I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch…

    Mojo452

I had stamped my fish on Saturday and decided that he really needed to be on a card, that’s where today’s card began. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out the Waffle Flower Doily Circle Die from a piece of Deep Blue and adhered it to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My larger panel is a piece of Snow Cone that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Gold Mirror Card is cut out with a die that I found in a drawer in the back, how’s that for a description?! I adhered that to the main panel with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Deep Blue also cut out with the Cross Stitched Squares. I added some bubbles from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set and then adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The goldfish is from the same set and is stamped in Red Royal and Memento Tuxedo Black. I stamped the first layer over the image with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed it in Hero Arts Clear Ultra Fine Embossing Powder. The seaweed is stamped in Hero Arts Green Apple Hybrid Ink and the bubbles in Unicorn White. I adhered the goldfish to the card with Foam Tape and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins… done! That goldfish is still a favorite of mine and he looks good in so many different colors! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Make sure that you stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting another week off with me!! Have a peaceful Monday my friends! 🙂

What started out as a nice sunny morning turned into November! LOL! Around 1:00 it started to pour and got really windy! I choose to wear shorts and flip flips today, bad choice! I did manage to get a few projects done at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! It was a good day to be crafty at work! When I got home I had some dinner at my parent’s, my mum had gone over to see our neighbor whose husband had just passed away. They have been friends for a while and she is a very nice lady. My Dad and I chatted for a bit and then I came home and Taylor was here napping on the couch with binge watching Secrets of Magic on Netflix through her eyelids! Around 9:00 I ran up to BJ’s to get some stuff for work and bumped into Sue and her husband Joe. We talked for a while waiting on line. I miss seeing Sue! When I got back home I finished up my card and then typed my post before calling it a day. I have my Stamping 101 Class tonight, that should be fun!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my good friend Andrea’s blog, welcome! This month we have a Summer Lovin’ theme! Ahh, Summer love, I have had one of those, I miss it!

First up I have a card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of My Colors Slate. I adhered a strip of My Colors Mini Dot Prairie Hearts Paper down the left side. Some Gold Mirror Card is cut out with the Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents Dies using my Artisan X-Plorer, I also embossed the die cut and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My flowers and leaves are form the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Arctic, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue and Sapphire Crisp Ink for the flowers and Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Moon Rock Crisp Ink for the leaves using my Mini MISTI. I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of 46lb Vellum. I trimmed it out with my Scissors and adhered it to the flower with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. I was going to add some sequins but I thought that it looked nice just the way it was!

The other project I have for you is a box that I made using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. I used the same Card Stock, Dies and Stamps to create it. I love the coordination with the card using the same stamps and shapes! It’s also a lot of fun to dig through Renee’s stash and use things that I normally wouldn’t get to use!

Hey peeps! How was the weekend?! I enjoyed mine thoroughly! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was busy yesterday despite the gloomy weather and the brief torrential downpour that we had! I got my newsletter done and started working on my little pamphlet for the Stamping 101 Class on the 9th. By the time I left the store the sun had come out for a little bit so the drive home was nice. I had Chinese food with my parents for dinner and then Brian came by and helped me with my new mattress. I got a Sleep Number bed, hoping that I can find my number quickly and enjoy all of the great things that I have heard about it! I’ll let you know how that goes! Today I will get my pamphlet finished and start working on new orders and some more administrative stuff. Oh how I love my job!!

It’s Monday so that means that I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog with the rest of the Design Team for this week’s sketch…

This was one of those cards that got assembled in my head while I was at the store! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I ran one of them through the Big Shot a second time with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside Borders Lawn Cuts and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tools, Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover Distress Ink for the Grass and Salty Ocean, Broken China and Tumbled Glass for the sky. Some water is flicked on the sky piece and dabbed off with a paper towel then the grass is adhered to the bottom and the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The sun is a piece of Daffodil Delight that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. My clouds are cut out from Solar White 80lb with the the Lawn Fawn Simple Puffy Clouds and then some Silver Glitter Paper is cut out with the coordinating Simple Puffy Clouds Frames. I used some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere the frames to the clouds and then adhered all three of them to the card. My images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Yay, Kites Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my Copics to color then in and stamped the hello in Memento Tuxedo Black. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The kite and bunny are adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the hello with Multi-Matte Medium. To compete the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I love the simple and fun images in the Yay, Kites set, especially against that Distress Ink background! I hope that you enjoy my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketh Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Freshly Made Sketches 239

Well, now that I’m lucky enough to be at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store seven days a week Friday’s have lost a little bit of their luster! LOL! Nah, I still love a Friday! It was sunny here in the morning yesterday but got a little gloomy as the day went on. Renee and I had a fun day, my parent’s came by with Daniel and he looked at my cards for this month’s class featuring the new Lawn Fawn Release and decided that the shaker card was his favorite! Sue and her sister Arlene also stopped by and the four of had a nice chat! More Lawn Fawn came in yesterday and I got that entered and put out. Since I’m at the store all the time now I’m offering Card Class in the morning as well as the evening on June 16th and 17th. It’s filling up fast so if you’re in the area and want to take it give the store a call and sign up! You can see a picture of the cards on the @stampinkpaperstore Instagram account on the Facebook page for the store! On the way home I stopped by Heather’s and got her so we could run to BJ’s. Daniel was still at my parent’s so we ran in to say hello and Daniel showed Heather all of his cars! After BJ’s we went back to Heather’s and she made a delicious salad for dinner and then Stephanie came by for a low key thirsty Thursday! I got home around 10:30 and finished two sweet 16 cards for Kiera’s mum and made my card for today. Taylor and Kiera stopped by and I chatted with Kiera while Taylor took a nap! Just like her dad, she can sleep anywhere!

I played with some “new to me” goodies for my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 239

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the images from the Waffle Flower Lacy Flower Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of 28lb Vellum. The fun die cut coordinates with the stamp set and is called Lacy Flowers. There are a bunch of different size flowers and also another coordinating set that cuts out solids of the flowers to go behind them. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Black onto a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic. I flagged the left side and then used Foam Tape and Dot Runner Adhesive to adhere all of the pieces to the card. I love that flower die, so intricate and it falls right out of the die, no magic needed! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by and I wish all of you a fantastic Friday! 🙂

The week straightened itself out yesterday, I knew that it was Wednesday! Back on track! We enjoyed some more nice weather, top down there and back to the store. Renee and I both got orders in this morning and worked on getting them out. I got a smattering of Waffle Flower to try out, I have to say that I like it! Very different! I spoke to Michael and FaceTimed with Andrea. Renee and I had Subway for lunch and for some reason it didn’t agree with me. I have also forgotten to take my allergy pill for the past two days so I have a nice sinus headache. Maybe I’ll remember tomorrow?! I also got my Lawn Fawn cards done for this month’s class! Love getting ahead! When I got home I had a sandwich at my parent’s and then took some Excedrin and waited for the headache to subside. When it finally went away I made my card for today and had a lot of fun doing it! Today I’ll be making some samples while I’m at the store, oh so nice to be crafty at work!

My card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #297

I went across the middle and the diagonal from lower left to upper right snuck in there! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts White Dye Ink. Before adhering it to the card I added a piece of Black & White Stripe Washi Tape down the right side. Next up I cut out a frame with the the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a piece of 48lb Vellum. On to the Vellum circle I heat embossed the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The frame is then adhered to the Vellum and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Once that was done I decided that the card was a little too wide so I cut 1/2″ off of the left side. All of the rest of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. The coffee and beans are stamped in Cup-O-Joe, the mason jar mug is heat embossed in Hero Arts White and the arrows are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out except for the coffee beans, those are cut out with my Scissors. The coffee cup is adhered to the mason jar mug with Dot Runner Adhesive and then it and all of the rest of the elements are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts to cut the greeting out and that too is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins. Can you tell how much I’m enjoying those new Hero Sets?! And I love that White Dye Ink, so subtle! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Thanks so much for visiting me today! I wish you all a very awesome Thursday! 🙂

Hmm… my week is a little off! I thought that today was Tuesday because we had off Monday?! I guess my excitement that Friday will be here before I know it will make up for all of that confusion!! LOL! So happy Wednesday! Before I headed over to the store this morning I stopped by Heather’s and fixed her mouse on her work computer. I was thanked with a nice breakfast of eggs, sausages, hash browns and toast! SO much for that diet! But, I was good for the rest of the day! On the way to work there was traffic on the parkway and there usually isn’t. Well, low and behold some truck driver decided that he would use a bridge as a can opener! As I drove by the scene the roof of the truck was still laying in the road. I know I saw a sign about clearance, guess he didn’t! The store was busy and Renee and I both worked on different projects. We also had salad for lunch, we are starting a new healthy eating kick! After I got home, top down in the car again, I had a sandwich for dinner and then ran to BJ’s the get some things before settling in for the evening. Today I have some more product coming into the store and a lot of paperwork related stuff to do! I’m going to try and get some crafty time in too!

Since it is Wednesday that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

    PCCCS197 DT Sketch 6-01-2016

My card is way out of my comfort zone today! I used some really bright colors! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I masked off the square with Post-it Tape and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Twisted Citron Distress Ink. I used the same method to apply Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet to two pieces of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. They are adhered to the card at angles to match the sketch. My cityscape is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Dies and is adhered on top of the inked panels. The little taxi and greeting are from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set and are both heat embossed in Black Embossing Powder, the taxi on Hello Honey and the greeting on Desert Storm 80lb. I flagged the left side of the greeting and used Foam Tape to adhere them both to the card. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Marigold, Lime Sorbet and Onyx Sequins complete the card! I have to say that I really do love the bright colors against the subdued colors of the taxi and greeting and that City Die is so cool!! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Designer’s have done and enter your card in the gallery! Another sunny day here yesterday, a little on the humid side but that’s because our streak of luck has run out! It’s supposed to rain all day today. Oh well, it was great while it lasted! I spent the day crafting, actually getting a little ahead! I managed to make three cards! Yippie! I also had to go for a ride and enjoy the weather so I headed over to Barnes & Noble in search of a magazine but I alas they didn’t have it. I’ll have to see if I can stop by one in Manhattan today, that’s where I’m headed. I guess I’ll have to be sure and bring my umbrella, wonder where that is?! Oh Happy Memorial Day to all my peeps in the states, it’s going to be a washout here but hopefully you will have nice weather where you are and get to enjoy a BBQ with your friends and family!

Today, like every Monday, lucky boy that I am, I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

Love a Tall & Skinny!! My card base is Neenah Solar White 100lb Card stock. For my background I stamped a piece of Melon Mambo with the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints Background using Hero Arts Raspberry Jam Ink. Down the left side is a piece of Gold Mirror Card and my greeting, along with all of my images, is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Flower for You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting on a piece of 46lb Vellum and wrapped it around the panel before adhering it to the card with E-Z Runner. The flag is a piece of Solar White 80lb with the outline of the flower image stamped in Ultra Pink and that’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The main flower is stamped in Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam with the leaves stamped in Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass Ink and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and adhered the leaves with Dot Runner and the flower with Foam Tape. Around the top I tied a piece of American Crafts Brights Hemp Twine in a bow to finish the card. I love that Flowers for You Set and the fun Confetti Background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for his week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Dapper Father’s Day

I know, you are probably sick of hearing of the nice weather we have been having is but it was another gorgeous day again! I went over to the store in the morning and hung out with Renee and Angie. I also got a card made that I gave to Sharon, Sue’s daughter for her Graduation party, I’ll share that with you later in the week. From the store I headed over to the party in Rockville Center. It was at Kasey’s Kitchen on the roof! A very nice venue with good food. I got to meet a lot of Sue’s family and spent some time chatting with her husband Joe and her sister. After the party I headed back to the house for a bit and then went over to Neal and Stephanie’s for a little impromptu BBQ. Brian, Kim and the kiddies were there along with Adam and Erin and their daughter. It was a fun time and I was home by 8:30. I watched some YouTube and then made my card before calling it a night. Today the store is closed so I’m going to make a valiant effort to make cards and get ahead for the week!

Speaking of getting ahead the card that I made last night is a Father’s Day card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. All of the images and greetings are from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set. I drew some pencil lines across a piece of Solar White 80lb and stamped the Happy Father’s Day in Hero Arts Wet Cement. Next up I cut out another piece of Black 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cuts and heat embossed the Love You in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Then I adhered a piece of Vellum to the back. Some Foam Tape is adhered around the edges and then it’s adhered to the card. The images are all stamped in Onyx Black and cut out with my Scissors. A little more Foam tape adheres them to the Vellum and the card is done! I love the retro feel of the stamp set and fun images! I’m also impressed that I got a Father’s Day card made this early! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for stopping by! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Yes, yet another nice day! That’s three in a row! Woo hoo! My ride to the store in the convertible was lovely as always. The Hero Arts order arrived and I got it all entered, priced and put out! We had a nice busy day in the store too! I think that Renee was a little exhausted at the end of the day! I hope every day is like that! Taylor stopped by and her and I had Blaze pizza for lunch. I also got to speak to Michael and filled him in on the goings on at the store. After work I stopped by my Parent’s and saw Daniel, Jason and Erika. I wear a baseball cap in the car now, my hair is long and gets knotted! When I came in Daniel looked at me and said “look Nanny, Uncle has a hat on!”. I said that I was wearing it because I wanted to be like him and he went and got his hat and put it on gave me a high five! He is just way too cute! Around 7:45 Anthony and Bill came by and we went to Friday’s for dinner and then stopped at Target. They dropped me off and I came in and made my card for today. This morning I’m going to the store for a little while and then I’ll be heading over to celebrate Sue’s daughter’s graduation! She got her Doctorate! That’s impressive!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 238

I used some of the new Hero Arts goodies that arrived! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Cup O Joe Ink onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered that to the card. The bike, camera and greeting are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the bicycle in Wet Cement and the camera in Memento Tuxedo Black. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb. I adhered the greeting, camera and bicycle to the card with E-Z Runner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Espresso and Charcoal Sequins are added around the bridge and the card is finished. I love the images in both of the sets but the stellar greeting is definitely going to be a favorite! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you fro coming by today to see me! I wish you all a stupendous Saturday! 🙂
