  • Pink Peony Hello

We had another nice sunny day here yesterday! It was in the 70’s in Manhattan, not to last too long though, tonight it’s to drop down into the 40’s. But I did enjoy the day! I spent some time at The Ink Pad, they got in a huge order so I volunteered to help with it. It’s a great way to have first dibs on the new goodies! LOL! Last night I met Kim at the Party City on 14th Street. She is off to St. Louis this morning and had to get a Halloween costume. After that we had some Chipotle for dinner and then headed back uptown to her apartment. I set up her Pebble Watch, FitBit, iPad and Bluetooth Music Receiver, that’s a lot of electronics! This morning I’m going to head back down to The Ink Pad and then make my way home.

Today I have a card that uses a new line of stamps that The Ink Pad is the exclusive retailer of. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Neenah Desert Storm with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flower and leaves are from the Large Peony Photopolymer Stamp Set from The Ton Coture Stamps Set. I heat embossed it and the leaves in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on some Ranger Watercolor Card Stock. To color them I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a damp paint brush. They are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My greeting is a piece of paper from the Midnight Magic 6×6 Pad and Black 110lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die. I adhered them to each other and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina and Gold Sequins are scattered around the flower finish off the card with a little sparkle! I do love that flower, nice and big, oh and very bright! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for stopping by and have a very nice Thursday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 420 & The Store!

What a lovely and fun weekend I had! Yesterday I went into Manhattan to meet up with my friend Kim, she is staying at a friend’s watching their dogs for the weekend on West 92nd Street. We left the apartment and headed out to have breakfast at Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table on 93rd and Columbus and what a delicious breakfast it was! From there we walked over to 96th and Broadway, there was a street fair going for 10 blocks so we walked though and came across this stall selling these really cool t-shirts! After speaking to the owner, Brant Fuse, we bought four between the two of us. They are really cool and you should go and check out his web site HERE. I got the Shoyu T-Rex, he’s one mean looking bottle of Soy Sauce! After we walked the length of the fair we stopped back at the apartment before heading down to 48th Street to see A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. What a funny and well acted performance that was! Here are Kim and I outside the theater…

How to Succeed in Love and Murder

And here is a shot of the stage, we had really great seats!

    How to Succeed Stage

After the play I headed back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. Like I said an excellent weekend indeed! Today I’m watching Scrap-A-Latte for Renee while she takes a long needed break and visits her wonderful son Nicholas for his birthday! Happy Birthday Nic! 🙂

Remember that thing that I worked on with Brian and Andrew this past week? Well today is the day that I get to tell you what it was! My Stampin’ Galley is busting at the seams and I need to make some room! I decided that I would go through some of my older Stampin’ Up! sets and get them ready to go to new homes! They are all in excellent condition, I take really good care of my stuff! If there are any extras included they are mentioned in the comments. If you click HERE or the Store link across the top you can go and take a look at what is currently available. The prices are comparable to what they are currently worth (after doing some checking on-line!) and all sales are final. They ship USPS Priority Mail and I’ll even send a little Mojo along with them! If you have any issues with the Store or ordering please let me know! Because you are my favorite blog peeps you get first dibs! Happy shopping!

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Mojo Monday! The fabulous Julee has given us another great sketch…

    Mojo420

I used another recently acquired set that I have been dying to try out! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a wide strip of that fun shiny black paper and a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down the front of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb using the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. All of the images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Exclusive Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped directly on the tag in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and Olive Ink. I stamped the flowers on another piece of Solar White 80lb in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Schoolhouse Red Ink. The flowers are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I threaded a pice of “Vintage” Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and then I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Cord around it. The tag is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I flagged the right side before adhering it to the tag with a thin strip of Foam Tape. I’m really loving the layered stamps and these ones are great! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Click on over the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thanks so much for coming by today! I wish you all a very magnificent Monday! 🙂

  • Manhattan Wishing Night Skyline

What a lovely day I had yesterday in Manhattan with Grace and her two daughters Toni-Lynn and Tracy! I met up with them at The Ink Pad and from there we headed over to Elephant & Castle for lunch. It was so nice to get know them, especially after speaking to Grace for all of these years on this blog! We finished lunch and Grace wanted to do a little shopping at the store so we headed back. She picked up a few Lawn Fawn sets and we got to speak to Anna for a bit. Here are the four of us…

Tracy, Grace, Me and Toni-Lynn. And here is one of Grace, Me and Anna, the owner of The Ink Pad…

Grace, Me & Anna TIP 10-2015

After we had finished at The Ink Pad we headed over to Chelsea Market and picked up some Fat Witch brownies. If you have never had them you need to make sure that you try them, they are delicious! From there we walked along the Hi-Line for a while. There are always new things to see along there. Here is a picture looking out between some buildings and if you look really closely in the middle you can see the Statue of Liberty…

    Hi-Line Statue of Liberty

The next two pictures are just some random art that is along the Hi-Line…

    Hi-Line Metal Art

    Hi-Line Kiss Rainbowe

Love that last one, it’s a redo of the famous Kiss picture of the Sailor and the Nurse!

So as you can see we had a very nice time yesterday and it was so great to get to meet Grace and her lovely daughters! I can’t wait to see them again!

I did pick up a few new goodies from The Ink Pad too and I used one of them to make today’s card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb and then took my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to create the night sky. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then die cut another piece of Solar White 80lb that I also blended with the same Distress Inks with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die and adhered that to next to the greeting with Multi-Matte Medium. SNAIL and Fun Foam adhere the skyline to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bermuda Blue and Marshmallow Sequins are adhered along the bottom of skyline for a little sparkle and complete the card! I absolutely love that NYC Skyline Die, fits right in with yesterday! I hope that you enjoyed today’s pictures and card! Thank you very much for visiting with me and I wish you all a super Sunday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 75

Hi there and a happy Friday to you! I had a busy but good day yesterday! I hung out at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara. I helped Anna with the window in the morning and then Barbara with some on-line stuff in the afternoon. Around 4:00 I headed back to Penn to catch the train out to Babylon where Taylor and her friends picked me up and took me to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of card class which is always a good time. This morning I’m going to get my haircut and then an eye exam so I can get some new contacts. After that Andrew is going to stop by and help me a little more with my project that I’m working on and then it’s off to the store for the second night of card class! Yay!

Today is also a Fab Friday and this week we have a fun color combo for you…

    Fab Fri 75 10-16-2015

I did see Halloween when I first looked at the colors but then changed direction! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a strip of Cherry On Top Designer Washi Tape along with a piece of Bermuda Bay. My Flowers and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Artful Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Tangelo Twist and the outlines with Memento Tuxedo Black before using the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Designer Flowers Craft Dies to cut them out. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Black and the left side is angled. I adhered the flowers and the greeting to one of the PinkFresh Studios Happy Things Acetate Cards with Foam Tape and used more Foam Tape hidden behind them to adhere them card to the card! A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card. I love the bold pop of the flowers against the Bermuda Bay and the acetate card is just cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday color challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! • Mojo Monday 419

Another beautiful Sunday here on Long Island! I spent a lot of time in the Stampin’ Galley yesterday working on projects. In the afternoon I decided that it was time that I learned how to change my oil in my car. My dad usually does it but I should be able to so that’s just what I did! Felt pretty good to be able to do it too! After the car was finished I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some card stock and I took Winston with me. He loves the convertible, no need for him to hang his head out of the window!

    Winston Convertible

When I got back I went to Applebee’s with Mum and Dad for dinner. What did you all do yesterday?!

It’s the start of another week and that means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…

    Mojo419

I picked up this really cool paper pad from Michaels a few days ago and have been meaning to use it so I did on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Basic Grey that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Feathers Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The gold and shiny black paper is from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Circles to cut them out, rounded the corners on the square with my Corner Chomper and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. A piece of the gold glitter paper from the same pad is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die along with a piece of Black Fun Foam. I adhered them to each other and to another piece of the shiny black with Multi-Matte Medium. To finish the card I adhered a few Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins to the circle with more Multi-Matte Medium. I love the matte gold and shiny black paper! The black looks a little like patent leather! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Don’t forget to pay a visit to the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Thank you very much for stopping by today! I wish you all an awesome Monday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 207

And it’s Friday once again. The week moved by at a rapid pace but I did get some of my list done. Yesterday was beautiful once again and I took a ride with the top down over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off the cards for next week’s card class. After that I stopped by Brian and Kim’s and hung out there, had some dinner and then stopped back home before heading over to see Heather for a bit. Today I have a bunch of projects to get to and an appointment at the Apple Store to see about my terrible iPhone battery. Later in tonight I’m going out to dinner with Bill, Anthony and Marissa, that should be fun and a nice way to end a Friday!

Today I’m playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and here is this week’s sketch…

    Freshly Made Sketches 207

A few fun panels! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Very Vanilla. I took two pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and backed them Black Card Stock. They are adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL with another piece of Black to complete the panels. The dies that I have from My Favorite Things Die-namics called Geek is Chic matched the glasses in the paper so I cut out a few from Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Blushing Bride and Gold Foil Sheet. They are adhered to the plain black panel with 2-Way Glue. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Gold Sequins finish the card. I love that paper with all of the glasses and the fact that the dies match so well is a neat bonus! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me today! I wish you all an awesome Friday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 17 – Theme!

It was a beautiful day here yesterday, top down in the car beautiful! In the morning I went to the office to get my things and chatted with Nancy, Nicole and Danielle for a bit. On my way home I stopped by Heather’s quickly to say hi. When I got home I did a few things and chatted with Andrea for a bit and then headed over to see Brian and Kim for lunch. Brian and I ran to SmashBurger, he’s never had it before! We both got shakes for the ride back to the house too! We had a nice lunch and then I stopped back home and got my mail which contained some Simon goodies so I played for a bit before heading back over to Heather’s. We ran to Target and then she made a yummy dinner. I would say that was a pretty good Monday! 🙂

Flowers! I’m not quite ready to let go of summer yet! LOL! This card was actually my Mum’s Birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb for the background that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Lever 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with a combination of Multi-Purpose Glue, SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss and the leaves in Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow. They are all cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered with more Foam Tape. I brushed it with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to finish off the card. My mum loved it and I hope that you do too! Happy Monday! I can say that for now, no work for me! I know that I shouldn’t be happy about that, but good things are ahead! I have to run up to the office this morning and get my things. I will miss the people form my old department and my friends. Everything happens for a reason right?! I had a nice day at The Ink Pad with Anna yesterday. It was also a sunny day, a nice change from the rain that we have been having. I drove in and got a space not too far away. When I parked I noticed this Fish & Chips Shop which I think has the best name ever!

    A Salt & Battery

Really great name don’t you think?! The day moved along, we were pretty busy. I’m back there on Wednesday. I did get to run down to the basement which you get through by going into the building behind the store and they have one of those really cool old elevators…

    Old Elevator

Pretty cool! That has been there for a long time! It took me a little bit longer than I thought to get home. I stopped and saw Mum and Dad and had a quick sandwich. Heather called when I got back to my house so I went over to see her for a bit and then by the time I got home it was time for bed. Another really good Sunday!

Continuing on with his daily post Michael has a really cool card with some paper-piecing on it! Go over and check it out by clicking HERE!

Now you know what Monday means… it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

I played with some Lawn Fawn again, but this time it’s an exclusive set that you can’t get anymore from last year. Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Smoky Slate for the background. I wrapped some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around it and tied it in a bow, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The panel in the middle is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink. It’s cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card, once and then I placed it over the already cut lines to make it a little smaller. A piece of Vellum has the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp with Lawn Fawn Feathered Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the background with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The two birds and feathers are also from the Feathered Friends Set, both stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored them in with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Dies to cut out the birds and the feathers are fussy cut with Paper Snips. I tucked the feathers behind the panel and the circle is adhered with SNAIL. Finally two hearts from the Woodgrain Set are colored in with Copics and also cut out with Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape holds them in place. Aren’t those two little birds just the cutest?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you very much for taking some time to visit with me today! Have a meaningful Monday! 🙂

A very good Sunday morning to you! I had a nice day in Manhattan yesterday, it was great to see Jim and Diane and catch up with them. After I left their house I met up with Kim and we went to a little Italian place called Felice for lunch and I had the best homemade ravioli! We stopped back at Kim’s apartment for a bit and then headed downtown. At 14th Street we said good bye and I headed over to the Westbeth Center to meet up with Barbara and catch up with her. There are some fun things in the works at The Ink Pad so stay tuned for more on that! I made it home from the city just in time to say goodbye to my Aunt and Uncle, it was great to have them here and they will be missed. This morning I’m headed back into Manhattan to work at The Ink Pad for the day so if you are around come by and say hello!

My friend Michael is on a roll, he has another post today for the Mojo Monday sketch! Some more really neat Halloween cards! You can check them out HERE! 🙂

My friend Danielle had asked me for a birthday card for her boyfriend’s dad’s birthday. He is a big boat fan so this is what I came up with. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Large and Small Tags dies to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and another piece of Seaside Paper. On the larger tag I used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the bottom corners. Using the Simon Says Stamp Sailboat Die I cut the negative from the smaller patterned paper tag and then tied them together with some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord. They are then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Smoky Slate is cut out with the middle size Simon Says Stamp Splashy Waves Die, stamped with Happy Birthday from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Night of Navy and adhered to the bottom of the tag. My anchor is a piece of Solar White 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Set Sail Dies and then covered in Versa-Mark and Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder, it’s heat set and then adhered to card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, a few red enamel dots from Recollections are added and complete the card. Danielle was quite happy with the card and I hope that the recipient was too! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, thanks very much for visiting and have a simple Sunday! 🙂
