  • SIP Challenge 6 – Tic-Tac-Toe

And another Monday is done! I’ll skip over work today, just because it’s better that way! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. Michael was there preparing for his baby book class. There was a ton of cutting to do so I helped by doing some of the die cutting. We were there until 8:00 and he still has some left to do! Wait until you see the book though, it’s awesome! We went out and had SmashBurger for dinner, so yummy! After that I came back to the house and made my card for today. Another really good day!

It’s time once again for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe board from Sandy…

    SM Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge 6

I choose to go across the middle and threw in the left corner too! My card today begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles Dies. The sides are masked off with some Post-It Tape and I then heat embossed it with the Hardwood Background Stamp in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fast Fuse. For the greeting I cut out the thanks from the Greetings Thinlits from a piece of Island Indigo. I adhered the negative to the card with some Foam Tape. My butterfly is a piece of Vellum cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. Some Black Perfect Pearls is used for the body and the wings are fluffed up a little. Finally, a few Enamel Dots from Michaels are adhered around the greeting. I made my own embossed patterned paper with the Hardwood Stamp and I love the way that the white looks on the black! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Sandy! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and don’t forget to make one of your own and enter in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today and I wish you a very nice Tuesday! 🙂

I won’t make a big deal about that fact that it’s Friday even though it’s my favorite day of the week! LOL! Yesterday was another good day! Michael stopped by at work on his way to his Dad’s to say hello. He got to meet some of my work peeps. After work it was off to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of card class. The Thursday class is always a bit more relaxed and mellow than the Friday’s class so it’s a nice way to see how long it will take to make the cards and if there will be any issues that the students may have. After class I came home and chatted with Heather while I made my card for today. She is leaving for California in two weeks for a little vacation, I’m jealous! Today I have to go to one of the houses for work and then get my haircut after then it’s off to Scrap-A-Latte for night two of class. Tomorrow I’ll be in Manhattan at The Ink Pad with Michael for a little while in the morning and then I’m going to spend some time with Kim. I do love my weekends!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

    PPA 260

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Geometric Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out a piece of So Saffron. The two flags are Melon Mambo and Cucumber Crush. They are adhered behind the circle and then the circle is adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I stamped the flower from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and the heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Watercolor Paper. To color it in I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and an Aquapainter. It’s cut out with a die from Dies by Dave and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Finally my greeting, from the Crazy About You Stamp Set, is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of White and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I really do love the way a heat embossed and watercolored image looks and the colors in the Zig Pens is really nice and vibrant! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Thank you for stopping by and have an awesome Friday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 5 – Theme

I am definitely not a Monday fan! I guess that it gets a bad rap because it follows the gloriousness that is the weekend! LOL! My theory on work this week is proving to be correct, bummer! Oh well, onward and upward right?! After dinner last night Taylor and I ran up to Michaels, she needed to pick up a few things and I needed a frame. When I got back to the house I spoke to Danielle and then FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit. After that I sat down to type my post. Sometimes when I do that I listen to music and last night I dug up an oldie but goodie! Alanis Morissette’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. It was one of my favorite albums when it came out and I used to listen to it on the train on the way home from work almost everyday. I was happy that I remembered the words!

Now on to today’s post for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Any Theme 5

Christmas in July! It’s never too early to think about making some Holiday cards! Maybe this will encourage me to actually get started early! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 100b Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die and adhered it to the base with 2-Way Glue. My tag is cut out with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 Die from a piece of Garden Green and Mint Macaroon. I ran the Garden Green piece though the Big Shot again to cut out the tree with the Simon Says Stamp Banded Tree Craft Die. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The tags are then adhered together with some SNAIL, I threaded some Lawn Fawn Green Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Twine though the hole that I punched out. A few strips of Foam Tape adhere it to the card. Not too complicated and I love the Mint Macaroon with the Garden Green, oh and the triangle background that echoes the tree shape! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Now head on over to the blog and check out the other Design Team members cards. Don’t forget to enter one of your creations in the gallery! Thanks for checking in with me and have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 406

A quiet Sunday, necessary I guess. I did run over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off two of the cards for this week’s class. I had to pick out some different paper for the other two, I didn’t like the original ones that I choose. Other than that I just worked on projects, did laundry and watched a little TV. I really do find it hard to do nothing by myself, odd huh? This week at work should be loads of fun said no one ever! Hopefully it will be a quick one!

It’s Monday so that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    Mojo406

I got stuck on the greeting and that is how the rest of today’s card came into being! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate and Basic Gray that are adhered to a piece of White. I heat embossed the Hero Arts with Studio Calico Tiny Star Background Stamp with some White Hero Arts Embossing Powder. The patterned paper is from the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection Paper Pad and is backed with some Neenah Solar White 80lb. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Basic Black. I used a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Star Die for my embellishment. I love all of the stars and I didn’t realize that the patterned paper and the background stamp are coordinated until I typed this post! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. It would be great to see your card in the gallery so stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards! Thank you for checking in with me today! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Note to self, if you are going to take off Thursday, take off Friday too! LOL! It’s rough to go back to work for one day. It was a busy day but it’s over! I came home and played with my Simon Says Stamp Kit that finally came. Michael stopped by for a bit and then I watched a little HGTV. This morning I’m going to pick up Michael and we are going to head into Manhattan to see Kim and her sister Angie who is in from Missouri. We are also going to take a trip down to the new apartment! Kim is moving in this week! Yay!

My little card that I made with the Kit is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    PPA 259

The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Soft Sky and then cut some Silver Foil Sheet with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and graduated them. My greeting, sail boat, waves and clouds are all from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the background and a thin piece of white which is adhered to the background with Foam Tape. The background is then adhered with SNAIL. I stamped the sail boat on Neenah Solar White 80lb, Pacific Point and Real Red and then cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered the sails to the boat with Foam Tape. For the waves I heat embossed them on Vellum with some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and cut them out with my Paper Snips. My clouds are heat embossed onto a wooden tag that I got from Michaels, the waves are adhered with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape and the boat with Foam Tape. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered with some more Foam Tape. I love the nautical feel and the wooden tag! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks so much for your visit and enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

Yesterday was a busy but fun filled day! I went with Michael to pick up Ken Oliver from his hotel around 10:30 and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to help him get set up. We took his first class which was an introduction to Color Bursts. There were 12 projects in all that we worked on and they were all fun! Here are some pictures of some of the projects that I did…

And here is a picture of Michael, Me and Ken!

Ken is a really nice guy and a fun teacher. It was great to spend some time with him and get to know him, hope to see him again soon!

It was nice having yesterday off too because I can’t believe that it ‘s Friday! It’s time for another Fab Friday too and this time we have a sketch…

    Fab Fri 68 7-10-2015

This card has been in my head since Wednesday and I had already put all of the supplies out on my desk that I needed to make it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4.5×6.5 Paper Pad and adhered it to the base at an angle. Next up is one of the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames, I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Vellum and adhered it to the back of the frame. Some Foam Tape on the back of the frame adheres it to the card and gives it a little lift. The feather is cut from some Washi Tape from Michaels and adhered to more Neenah 110lb with the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Dies. Another piece of Foam Tape adheres it to the frame and the card is done! This card was great not only because I had it all put together in my head but also because all of the supplies were ready to go! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge. Please take a minute to visit the blog and check out the other Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery. • Paper Players 252

Ahh, Wednesday, halfway there! It was quite muggy here yesterday, you know that heavy feeling when you walk outside. Still take it over the snow and cold any day! My day yesterday was pretty good. Daniel was at my parent’s, he just gets cuter and cuter each time I see him! We played a little and then had dinner. Taylor went and stayed at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday while Renee took a some much needed time off. I had to go there and lock up and wouldn’t you know that I got all the way there and forgot the key at home! I don’t have a house key anymore, my iPhone unlocks my door when I walk up to it. So back in the car I got and went home and got the key and back to the store to lock up. After that I came home and worked on some projects. Today I’m going with Michael to pick up Ken Oliver from the airport. He is teaching two classes at Scrap-A-Latte on Thursday so I’m off from work! Michael and I are going to help out Renee. It should be a good time!

One of the cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge from Ann…

    Paper Players #252

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Sock. I took a piece of Watercolor Paper and embossed it with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven Embossing Folder and covered the entire card front with it, adhering it with Fast Fuze and Multi-Purpose Glue. My tag is cut from another piece of Watercolor Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. I stamped the leaves form the Choose Happiness Stamp Set with Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and did the same with the flower. They are colored in with the Zig Clean Color Brush Pens, I used two shades of green for the leaves and some red for the flower. Instead of wiping off the excess color I heated the flower again and let the pigment melt into the embossing powder just for something different. My dragonfly is from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Neenah. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and adhered it and the flower to the tag with Foam Tape. Th greeting is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and adhered around the back of the tag. A piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I LOVE that embossing folder, it gives such amazing texture to the card, it really does look just like a basket! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Player theme challenge from Ann! Thank you so very much for spending some time with me today! Have a happy Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 3 – Inspiration

Monday is such a shock after a really nice weekend! LOL! Work was busy but bearable. I tackled the radio in the Saab after work and with a little help from Dad got it all straightened out. It’s good to have my bluetooth back and my music from my iPhone! Sometimes it’s the little conveniences that make all the difference! After I had finished with the car I came in and Skyped with Andrea while I worked on a few projects. Later I ran to Target to get 1/2 & 1/2 and left with $50 worth of stuff, does that happen to everyone or is it just me?! I hoping that it happens to everyone! LOL!

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have an inspiration photo from Andrea…

    AT Inspiration Challenge 4

The picture was actually taken at her wedding! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack. I stamped the leaves from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz on Watercolor Paper and then used a Waterbrush to pull the color in from the edges and fill in the leaves. Yes, I did fussy cut the image! The flowers are from the Something to Say Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride and the same technique is done to them. I used the Flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to punch them out and then adhered them with Glue Dots and placed a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle of each one. A strip of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon and a piece of Blushing Bride are flagged and adhered to the card with Tear and Tape Adhesive. I stamped the greeting from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz before I adhered it. The cluster of leaves and flowers is adhered to the card with more Glue Dots. Love that cluster of leaves with the flowers, and it really wasn’t that hard to cut out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Design Team’s inspiration cards and then add yours to the gallery! I hope that you will take some time and play along! • Feather Silhouette Tree Note Card

Hi there! I’m super late today! I had a busy but awesome weekend so far! Yesterday I was in Manhattan with Michael for most of the day at The Ink Pad. We both worked on some projects and even got to meet a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from Alexandria Virginia, Barbara Treese. She is up here on vacation and just happened to wander in to pick up some NY themed papers and embellishments to scrapbook her trip. It was very nice to get to chat with her. After we finished at The Ink Pad we headed over to Brian & Kim’s for a BBQ. Always good to see my peeps! Here is a picture of Me, Barbara and Michael…

He is going to turn them into note cards and they will be on his blog later in the week!

Now for today’s card, it’s a simple one that was inspired by something that I saw on Pinterest. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the image from Lovely As a Tree in Ranger Archival Black Ink onto a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet. Next, I took a piece of Basic Black and die cut the Mama Elephant Fair Feather’s Creative Cuts twice from it. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Fair Feathers Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto the die cut panel. Some foam tape on the back of the panel adheres it to the card. I like the way the trees peek through the feathers and the simplicity of the card. I hope that you like my card for today and that you all enjoy your Sunday! Thanks for coming by today! 🙂

Yay it’s Friday! Boo, I have to work! Hopefully it will be a quick day! Yesterday was overcast but nice, lots of thing accomplished at work. Robin and I had Panera for lunch, I got my favorite the Chicken Cobb with Avocado Salad, YUM! After work I came home and made a few cards and then went out to the Saab to see if I could fix the iPod cable. Of course, I didn’t check to see which replacement I needed and I guessed wrong! Oh well, we’ll have to try that again! Nothing like taking apart the entire dashboard all for nothing! Happy thoughts! LOL!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 193

I went super clean! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Basic Black with two pieces of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Calypso Coral and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collections Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and two Basic Jewels Rhinestones are adhered to the centers of the flowers for some sparkle! Nice and simple but I really love it, that DSP is definitely one of my favorites, love the colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!
