Yesterday was a rainy day here. I came home from work and had dinner and then Heather came by and helped me clean my apartment! It has never been so clean! She is a cleaning machine! Everything in the bathroom and kitchen sparkles! LOL! It needed it bad and now it will be a lot easier to keep up with! We ran out to Target to pick up some odds and ends. I even got to make some cards last night too! What a productive evening, all after work! My brother, Erika and Daniel went to LA yesterday. It was Daniel’s first flight and they said that he was great! He even slept for two hours on the plane! He’s such a good little boy! There is even a picture of him at the airport looking like a seasoned traveller!

    Daniel LA 4-07-2015

He looks like he’s saying come on guys, lets go! I love his little jet plane bag too!

Well, it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    PCCCS139 DT Sketch 4-08-2015

I wanted to try some foiling again and Jennifer McGuire came up with a new way to do it using embossing powder! My card today is 5″ x 5″, a size that I never make! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is Garden Green. On top is a piece of the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. I adhered a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon with some Pistachio Pudding behind it around the back with some Sticky Strip and then adhered it to the card. My main panel is a piece of Whisper White backed with some Calypso Coral. I heat embossed the image from the I Like You Host Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then ran it through my laminator with some Gold Deco Foil. The greeting is from the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set, it’s also foiled and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch along with the flowers that are from the Something to Say Stamp Set and punched out with the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. The main panel is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, along with the greeting and the flowers are adhered with Glue Dots. A Subtles Designer Button is adhered with a Glue Dot and then some Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins are adhered in the lower right corner. I absolutely love the gold foil with the heat embossing! It’s so smooth and shiny, you can see it a little better in the second picture! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and see the rest of the design team’s projects and enter one of yours in the gallery! I hope that you are inspired to try some foiling on your projects and I thank you so much for coming by to see me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SUO Challenges 120 & A Bonus!

Hey there kiddies! Made it through another Monday! Work was not too bad, lots to get organized but it will get done. My brother and Erika stayed at my parent’s last night with Daniel. They are off to Los Angeles this morning. I think they are going for a wedding but they are also going to visit Disney while they are there! I wished my sister-in-law good luck with the 5 1/2 hour flight! Daniel is not one to sit still for very long! LOL! I can’t wait to hear how that goes! I’m also looking forward to seeing the pictures from Disney! I hope that they have a great trip and I can’t wait to hear all about it when they return. After dinner I came home and played around with some new stuff that I got in the mail. Yes, more crafty stuff, hmm.. where am I going to put it?! I think we all have that problem to some extent… right?! Right?!?!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Support Your Team challenge. I was a little perplexed as to what to do since I am not a big sports fan at all. I thought about it for a while and settle on a simple encouragement card. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Daffodil Delight. I used the stencil from the Hooray it’s Your Day Project Kit and some Daffodil Delight Ink with a Sponge Dauber to create the rays on some Whisper White. My greeting is form the Bravo Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight. I used the Starburst Framelits to cut it out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. A very simple card, I do love that stencil and how it looks behind the greeting! As a little bonus at the end of the post I have a card that I made for my friend Marissa from work for her to give to her sister for her birthday so scroll down past the supplies to take a peek! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Support Your Team challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with. Have a terrific Tuesday and thanks for visiting! 🙂

Happy Easter! I will be going to my Parent’s today for dinner. My brother, Erika and Daniel along with Taylor will be there. It’s also Taylor’s birthday today!! Happy Birthday Taylor!! I will post her card tomorrow! Yesterday I had a very productive day craft wise. I got a bunch of projects finished and will finish the rest of them today. The only other thing that I did yesterday was went to lunch with Taylor. We ate fresh! LOL! I did speak with Andrea and Michael for a bit. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday!

In the sprit of the holiday I wanted to share with you what my friend Brian did to the walkway up to the front door to his house…

    Brian Easter Path

Now that’s pretty cool! I think that he told Izzy and Savannah that it was so the Easter Bunny would be able to find the house quicker! LOL!

As promised here are my cards from the February class at Scrap-A-Latte. The featured company was Mama Elephant!

    CYCI #64

I have a funny story about the card. I am a big fan of Dies By Dave over on Etsy. I love his dies and have a few and plan to get more. Andrea and I both got our rose dies yesterday, it’s the die that cuts out something similar to the panels that are included in the Artisan Embellishment Kit. We were on Skype yesterday and both made our cards using the die. My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and I adhered a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum to the front. Next up is a panel of Pistachio Pudding stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Pistachio Pudding. I adhered it slightly askew on top of the vellum. For my top layer I die cut some Basic Black with the Rose Die and then used some Ultra Thick Embossing Powder to give it the “licorice” look. It’s adhered to a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. My greeting and butterfly are both from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I wrapped the sentiment around the rose panel and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. the butterfly is punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and also adhered with a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional. I love that rose plate die and can see using it in many projects! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge. Now head on over to the blog and check out what the rest of the design team has done and make a project of your own to share in the gallery! Thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to come and visit! Again, Happy Easter everyone! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 61

Oh yes!! It’s Friday!! I do loves me some Friday! Yesterday was a nice day, it was 55 degrees and sunny! Today rain and 60 but that’s just fine! I went to Scrap-A-Latte straight from work last night to see Renee and Angie was there too! I picked out the paper for this month’s card class and we chatted about all things store related. We also got a special treat, some FaceTime with Michael! LOL! I showed him around the store and he asked to get off the ride! Renee looked at me at 7:00 and said do you still have keys… good, I’m leaving! I ended up finishing up with Michael at 7:30 and locked up and headed home. I had a meatloaf sandwich for dinner and then came to the house and Skyped with Eva for a bit. Pretty great Thursday!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge…

    Fab Fri 61 4-03-2015

So, funny story about the card. I was talking to Eva on Wednesday night and told her the colors for the challenge. She said oh, do something watercolor. I said no, that takes a while and I want to do a quick card. Well, it was not a quick card by any means! LOL! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. My panel is a piece of So Saffron with a piece of Whisper White that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is from the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set and is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper. I used Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzaz and Soft Suede Ink to watercolor the image and then cut it out with my Paper Snips. It’s adhered to the woodgrain panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Soft Sky. I really do love the Cherry Blossom stamp, especially watercolored and cutting it out really makes it the focal point of the card. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Fab Friday color challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the other Designer’s cards and make one to enter in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me today! Have a Fabulous Friday! 🙂

Well, I finally recovered from the “street meat” last night. Boy let me tell you that I felt it work it’s way through my entire digestive tract! I will definitely not partake in that delicacy ever again! LOL! That was rough! Other than that my day was relatively quiet and that is always a good thing! Little Daniel was over my parent’s when I got home form work and he wasn’t in the best mood because his back teeth are coming in. Poor little guy. I did manage to distract him for a bit with turning the light on and off. He now checks to make sure that it’s on or off too! Such a smart little man! I came home and spoke to Andrea on Skype, Kim on FaceTime and Eva on Skype while I made a few cards. A nice finish to the day!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 180

I got a few new stamps and dies in the mail yesterday and just had to use them! My card base is yes, you guessed it, Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Black. On the top is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with some DMC Gold Metallic Thread tied through one of the Gold Basic Metal Buttons. I heat embossed one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tucked it underneath the Crisp Cantaloupe piece. The hello is from a company called Altenew, they are actually based not far from where I live on Long Island! I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Basic Black and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A very simple card but I love the way the hello fades out towards the top! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! What a great Saturday I had! I met my friend Sue at her house at 7:15am and we headed out to go to the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Show in Allentown, PA. We made really good time and arrived there at 9:30. I had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all of the vendors. We stopped at Impression Obsession and I got a few dies. I picked up some things from some of the other booths too. But, the highlight of the day was getting to meet some of you!! I got meet Gerri K, Virginia and Donna from PA! Of course being the dunce that I am I only remembered to take one picture so here I am with the lovely Donna!!

    Me & Donna

It really was awesome to meet you all and get to chat with you for a little bit! Thank you so much for coming over to see me!! On the way home from the stamp show we stopped at Wegmans! WOW! Now that is a grocery store like I have never seen before! You could spend days in there! We also stopped at Hobby Lobby and I maintained a large amount of self control! LOL! When we got home we picked up Sue’s hubby and went to the diner for dinner. I also got to Skype with Eva for a bit and spoke to Mr. Trent during the day! Like I said a great Saturday! 🙂

So, a few of you have been asking that I share the cards that I have made for the classes at Scrap-A-Latte. Here are the ones that I made for the January class. The theme was Valentine’s and the stamp company was Lawn Fawn.

I actually flipped the sketch around to make my card! My card base is Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White. The first layer is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with a piece of Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape down the left side. On top of that is a piece of Pistachio Pudding, I used the Tim Holtz Tiles Stencil and some Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste to create that cool tile background. My tag is also cut from Neenah White with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. I used the Simon Says Stamp Artistic Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. They are cut out with the coordinating dies and watercolored with Crisp Cantaloupe and Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Ink. The stems are cut from Pistachio Pudding and all of the pieces are adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine is tied though the top and a few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins are scattered across the tag. The tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die cut from more Neenah White and adhered with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I love the soft spring colors and the tile background is just so cool! I really do hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge! So, do you know what?! It’s FRIDAY! Yay! I have to say that I had a good but busy Thursday. Work was a little chaotic, they had an event in the morning and I ended up helping out my old department. Not that I mind and I would do pretty much anything for my old boss Nancy. I also get to fix some iPads tomorrow morning because the guy that we have in the IT department couldn’t do it. After work I went straight over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. We plotted what we are going to do with some upcoming projects. And yes, I got a few things! LOL! On the way home I stopped by Heather’s and had dinner with her and her brother. She made tuna wraps with avocado and I mixed up some Sriracha and Mayo, delicious! We ran to the shoe store because I’m looking for some brown boots. I didn’t find any boots but I did find three pairs of Ben Sherman shoes that I loved! I also wore a plaid button down shirt, something that I never do. Brown boots and a plaid shirt… what is happening to me?! LOL! When I got home there was some Happy Mail from Pretty Pink Posh waiting for me! Love me some sequins and I think that her’s are the best!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 179

A fun sketch as always and I wanted to do something a little different. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Island Indigo. I heat embossed a piece of Garden Green with some Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Hero Arts with Basic Gray Waves Background Stamp. The Project Life Corner Rounder is used to round off the corners and some SNAIL adheres it to the card. Next up is a piece of Vellum and on that I heat embossed one of the stamps from The Open Seas Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Spiral Border Punch is used along the right side at the left corners are rounded and some 2-Way Glue holds it to the background. I also stamped the anchor from the stamp set and heat embossed that in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut it out with my Paper Snips. Some Kool Tak Clear Foam adheres that to the note page. My greeting is from the Fabulous Four Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Pool Party. I flagged the left side and wrapped some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord around it before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few of the Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle and Green with Envy Sequins complete the card. I really am loving that background stamp and the The Open Seas is the first Stampin’ Up! set that I ever got! I really hope that you enjoyed my masculine birthday card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you for spending a little of your Friday with me! I hope that yours is a fantastic one! 🙂

Hi there! SO nice to see you as always! It’s Thursday! You know that my happiness level always peaks towards the end of the week! LOL! Yesterday was a quiet day, not much happened. After work I came home and had dinner with ‘rents. I spent some time in the Stampin’ Galley working on a few projects. Taylor called me to tell me that she had found a shirt that I had wanted and was going to drop it off to me. She stopped by with her friend Chris and we talked for a bit. I also got to Skype with Andrea, she was all gussied up to go to a committee meeting at her children’s school. The rest of the evening was nice and quiet. I watched some videos on YouTube and then surfed around on-line for a bit. A nice quiet evening!

Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    Mojo390

I have a few new stamps that I have been wanting to use for a while so I incorporated them into today’s card. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock covered in a piece of Night of Navy. I used another piece of Night of Navy and the Hero Arts Tiny Star Background Stamp with some Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder for my background. A piece of Smoky Slate is punched out with the Confetti Stars Border Punch and adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flagged piece is Basic Gray. The greeting is a Simon Says Stamp set called Sparkle and Shine and is heat embossed with more Liquid Platinum on Vellum. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut it out and some 2-Way Glue and a tiny piece of Kool Tak Clear Foam holds it in place. The star is a piece of Smoky Slate that I cut out with the Stars Framelits and Heat embossed with the Liquid Platinum as well. A Stampin’ Dimensionals holds it to the card. Finally a few Hazel & Ruby Shine and Sparkle and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins on the flagged piece complete the card. I love that detailed starry background, I think it looks great with the Confetti Stars Punch! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Thank you so much for your visit! Have an awesomely incredible Thursday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 137

Well, wouldn’t you know it… it’s Wednesday! There is one foolproof way that I always know that, it’s Paper Craft Crew day! But before we get to that I went to the movies last night to see Insurgent with Andrew! We had some Chipotle for dinner and ten headed over to the Broadway Mall to sit in those big comfy chairs! The movie was great! Lots of special effects and a really good plot line. Thankfully they don’t really leave you hanging, we know how much Andrew hates that! He was saying in the car that it’s another seven months before we get to see the final Hunger Games. He really doesn’t like a cliffhanger at all! LOL! Sometimes that’s just the way it happens! I do try to see movies with him that aren’t trilogies or if they are they are all available for download! So, not a bad Tuesday night at all!

Like I said I know that it’s Wednesday because it time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS137 DT Sketch 3-25-2015

This was one of those cards that I put to together in my head! The card base, as is usually the case lately, is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Bermuda Bay. I used a piece of Whisper White to stamp the confetti from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set with Versa-Mark and some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then again in Calypso Coral. My middle panel is a piece of the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Calypso Coral and tucked under the bottom is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. Before I adhered the white to the card I wrapped some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine around it and tied it in a bow. I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch and some Night of Navy to make my tag and heat embossed on it are the candles also from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set. The “light ’em up” is heat embossed separately on a piece of Bermuda Bay and the ends are flagged. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the tag and greeting to the card. Three Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins are adhered next to the tag with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I absolutely love that greeting, makes me sing the Fall Out Boy song every time I see it! LOL! So there is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and check out the other design team projects and make a card to enter into the gallery too! Thanks very much for stopping by to see my card for today! I love having you share in a part of my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

That’s Sue and I, we are heading to Allentown, PA on Saturday for a stamp show!

    SAL Me & Taylor

And there I am with the best daughter in the whole world!! She is also a great helper!

Tonight I’m off to the movies with Andrew to see Insurgent! Really looking forward to that!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Fun Folds challenge. My card isn’t a traditional “fun fold” but it’s not your usual card either. I used a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and the Circle Card Thinlits to make my base. The flower is that amazing Lotus Blossom from the Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to a piece of Brushed Gold that is cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and then adhered to the card. I made my belly band from a piece of Calypso Coral. The “thanks” is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I punched out another piece of Brushed Gold with the 3/4″ Circle Punch to back the butterfly that is from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut it out with the Butterfly Thinlits and adhered it to the circle and the band with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting on the inside is from the Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Calypso Coral. I used the 2″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A very simple but I think quite elegant card! I hope that you like my card for the SUO Challenges Fun Folds challenge. Go on over to the blog and take a look at what the rest of the Design Team has come up with! Thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to come by and see me! Have a totally terrific Tuesday! 🙂
