Paper Players 370

Hello friends. I missed my post on Friday because I woke up and found my little friend Winston had passed away in the night. I miss him so much. I can’t remember a time that he hasn’t been around. I was lucky enough to have spent 16 years with my best friend. It really is true, your furry friends become a part of the family and the loss leaves a big empty space. Heather came over on Friday and spent the day with me working from my house. I managed to keep myself busy over the weekend. I spent the morning at Jim’s on Saturday and then we went to dinner and watched a few episodes of The Fall. Yesterday I was at the Glam Slam Fundraiser and that was a lot of fun! I ran into someone that I used to work with at Pergament back when I was 18!! Such a small world. 😀

To start off the week I have my card for the Paper Players challenge…

One of my favorite challenges! Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a piece of Solar White 80lb that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. My tree is cut from another piece of Solar White 110lb using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Die. I used the lights from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set and WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder on my die cut tree and then adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die with more Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. Some more 3M Foam Tape adheres that to the tree and the card is done. I do love a white on white card, you can do so much with a little dimension! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for coming by to see me on a Monday! Have a great day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 267

Oh how I miss the Summer! Have I said that already?! And we are just getting started with the cold weather! Ugh! Getting dark at 5:00PM isn’t fun either! Ok, enough whining! LOL! What started out as a sunny day quickly turned overcast and then it started rain around 4:00 and did that for the rest of the night. I ran up to IKEA in the morning and got a few pillows for the couch. Taylor came by in then evening and that was pretty much my day. This morning I’m off to see my friend Sue for some Etsy stuff! We have added a bunch more items to the SHOP including Altenew and Concord & 9th! You should go over and take a look! 😀

For my mid-week card I have one to share with you for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I choose to go across the top row. I have been trying to make some simple Holiday cards, I really am planning on sending them out this year and if I come up with a few simple ones that will be easy to make multiples of it will happen! To start my card I stamped the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background Stamp onto a piece of Tropical Sea with Tide Pool Ink. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Poster Christmas Carols Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 29lb Vellum. That is adhered around the back of the stamped background panel and that is then adhered to a piece of Metallic Copper Card Stock which is then adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The card needed a little sparkle so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins. I do love the tone on tone background and the fun simple copper accents! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! Stop by the BLOG for some inspiration and add your card to the gallery! Thanks you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

A very good Monday to you all! I hope that you enjoyed the rest of your weekend! I had a nice Sunday despite the gloomy weather which has continued today. Some cleaning was done in the morning and then a few errands. I finished off the day by heading over to Jim’s and finishing up a few projects, we hung the TV on the wall and I set up a new router to make the internet a little better and much faster! This morning I have a lot of stuff to get done for the Fundraiser this Sunday. The weather definitely makes it a good day to sit in front of the computer! 😀

To start off the week I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

I have had the Sunny Studios Holiday Style Photopolymer Stamp Set since last year and I never had the chance to use it so I decided that it was high time that it saw some ink! I started by stamping the bells in Hippo and Black Licorice for the first two layers using my Mini MISTI. For the third layer I heat embossed them with Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the greeting in Black Licorice and the pine branches in Noble Fir, Jalapeño and Freshly Cut Grass. The bells are adhered to the card and the hooks are stamped in Black Licorice and that completes the card! I do love a layering set and this one is definitely going to be a favorite! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thanks so much for staring another week off with me! Enjoy your Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 311

Happy Friday! What a nice day it was yesterday! Sunny and warm! Manhattan was great, I had a nice visit with Diane and then went up to the Isabel O’Neil Studio to help out Beth with a few things. Kim and I went to Schnipper’s for lunch and had some pretty good burgers. I also walked everywhere about 65 blocks! Last night we had another meeting for the fundraiser next week and then Jim and I grabbed a quick dinner and I came home. I got a haircut this morning and now I going to call my friend Greg. Shaping up to be a pretty good Friday! 😀

I did manage to squeeze in a card this morning and it’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I grabbed my Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and my MISTI to stamp a panel with Black Licorice. I adhered it to a piece of Black 110lb and then adhered that to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Another piece of Black 110lb is embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wave Next Level Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting is stamped in Black Licorice onto a piece of Solar White 110lb that I cut out with the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die. That is adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! Simple black and white makes for an elegant Christmas card, don’t you agree?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for coming by! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 123 – A Sketch!

It’s definitely feeling more Fall like here and I’m already not a fan! Yesterday I did a few things around the house early and then went over and ran a few errands for Heather. I picked up lunch on the way back. After that it was back home to do a few more things. Taylor stopped by after dinner and that was my day. I have a few phone calls to make this morning and some other things to catch up on, always something to do! 😀

It’s Tuesday and time for a new challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

A nice simple birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Necessities – Wood 6×6 Paper Pad. For the wreath I used the die from the September 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit to cut out a piece of Nobel Fir and Super Gold Curious Metallic. They are adhered to a strip of 29lb Vellum that I flagged the bottom of with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on another piece of Noble Fir. I cut the ends at an angle and adhered it to the Vellum and wreaths with 3M Foam Tape. A few dots of Multi-Matte Medium adhered the Vellum and wreaths to the card. A nice simple masculine Birthday card! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! The rest of the Team has some great inspiration for you over on the BLOG and we hope that you will share your card with us in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 368

Hi there my friends and a happy Monday to you from rainy Long Island! I had a very nice weekend starting on Friday by picking up Jim’s new couch and setting it up in his den. Saturday he came by and we worked on the kitchen cabinets. It’s a lot more work than I originally anticipated but he was a huge help and we got a lot done! Still a lot more to go but we’ll get there! Yesterday was rainy and windy, one of those sit on the couch and watch TV kind of days. This morning I’ll be heading over to see Heather for a bit, can’t wait to get out of the house! LOL! 😀

I got up this morning and made my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I went down the first column! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tropical Sea cut to 4″ wide. I stamped the dots from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set In Yeti Ink. The tree is cut from Silver Glitter Card using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Dies. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Ornamental Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of 65lb Vellum. I adhered the tree to the background and then the Vellum around the back before adding it to my card base. A few Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins finish the card! Teal and Silver make a pretty nice holiday combo and I love that big sparkly tree! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for staring your week off here with me! Have an awesome Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 310

Another somewhat gloomy fall like day yesterday. I worked on a bunch of projects in the morning and squeezed in a little TV too. Last night I went over to Jim’s and we met up with Laura and Michelle and went over to the venue for the fundraiser to check out and brainstorm a few ideas. After that we went and had dinner, it’s nice to get to meet really nice people and Laura and Michelle are just that! This morning I have some projects to complete and then who know what I’ll be up to later! 😀

Today I have a card to share with you for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I’m really loving that Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Stamp! I used Black Licorice and my Mini MISTI to stamp the background and then filled the images in with Jalapeño, Noble Fir, Merman, Peacock and Sunflower. There are two flower clusters on the background that you can cut out with the Coordinating Dies, I cut one of them out. Then I trimmed the leftover and adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Peacock. I added that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The cut out flower cluster is then adhered with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! I’m having so much fun with that background that I left it in my MISTI so I can stamp a few more later! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your Thursday everyone! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 265

It started out gloomy in the morning yesterday and then was sunny in the afternoon. The evening however delivered the rain and wind as promised! We even had a little thunder and lighting. I had a semi-productive day, got some things accomplished in the morning and did a little cleaning. Taylor came by last night and we watched a few episodes of DC Legends of Tomorrow, so nice to spend time with the child! This morning it’s a little gloomy but should clear up. I have some errands to run and then a meeting later about a charity event on November 12th that I’m volunteering for. Good times! 😀

Mid-week and time for a new Paper Craft Crew challenge…

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Plaid Background Photopolymer Stamp with some Merman Ink and a piece of Mermaid Card Stock with my Mini MISTI to create the background. It’s adhered to the card in the lower right askew to match the sketch. The tree is cut from a piece of Peacock using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Dies. I heat embossed the greeting from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered the tree to the card with 3M Foam Tape. For a little pop of color I used the star die from the Trim the Tree Dies and attached that to the top of the tree with more 3M Foam Tape. A simple card using one of my favorite Holiday color combos! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG and we hope that you will share your card with us in the gallery! I appreciate you stopping by today! Have a wild Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Players 367

Hello! I hope that you all had a nice weekend! Mine was great! Saturday I went over to Jim’s and we worked on some projects, fishing the last of the chairs and putting legs on the end table that we made, along with a few others. I had to go and pick up Taylor from the train around midnight, she said that she had a wonderful time in Massachusetts and can’t wait to go back! Yesterday I did a little cleaning and then Jim stopped by in the evening for a bit and we watched some more of Ozark. This morning I’m playing catch up on a few things, it’s a Monday for sure! 😀

I’m staring the week off with my card for the Paper Players challenge! But before I get to that I want to thank Laurie for choosing me as her headliner for last week’s challenge! You can see my original post HERE and the winners post HERE. Now for this week they have a sketch…

Hero Arts had a little sale last week and I couldn’t resist! Sometimes I have the idea for the card in my little brain and this is what my desk looked like when I started my card…

To start I stamped the squirrel from the Hero Arts Color Layering Squirrel Photopolymer Stamp Set in Wet Cement, Soft Granite and Charcoal using my Mini MISTI. The peanut is stamped in Wet Cement and Cup O Joe. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. Next I used my Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp to stamp a piece of Desert Storm 80lb in Wet Cement, a piece of Smoky Slate with Soft Granite and a piece of Basic Gray with Charcoal. The Desert Storm piece is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flagged the end of the Smoky Slate piece and added that and then heat embossed a greeting from the set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the Basic Gray piece and added that. My squirrel and peanuts are adhered with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! I love that squirrel! I think this would make a fun masculine card, maybe even for a birthday! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for beginning another week with me! Have an absolutely awesome Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 309

I don’t think that the internet is enjoying the shift to cooler weather, it’s painfully slow here lately! I did had a very productive day yesterday despite my little three hour trip into Manhattan to drop off Taylor. She was little anxious but after 6 hours of travel she made it safely to her destination. We also finally got one of the contractors to send an estimate for the work on Jim’s PA house. Things move at a very different pace up there! This morning I’m going to try and check a few more things off my to-do list and then Jim will be by later for dinner! 😀

My little bit of craftiness yielded my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge…

To start my card I stamped the large flower from the Concord & 9th Pretty Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Fresh Lavender and Sugarplum using my Mini MISTI so I could double stamp. The flower is cut out with the Coordinating Die. Onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock trimmed to 4″ wide I adhered a strip of Gold Mirror Card and then the flower. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Enjoy it All Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto 65lb Vellum. I used the squashed hexagon die from the Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Dies to cut out the greeting. The right edge is folded over and adhered to the inside of the card with a few dots of Multi-Matte Medium behind the heat embossing to keep it in place. A simple card with that awesome huge flower! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks so much for coming by! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂
