Double Header and More Convention Pics!

Ahh, I feel much better now that I have had a full nights sleep! How are all of you doing today? Is everyone home safely from Convention? I had to make some projects yesterday, four days without crafting is way too long for me! Today I have two cards for you but before I get to those here are a few more pictures from 2013 Convention!

Like I said before I have two cards for you today. I wanted to get my Freshly Made Sketches card and Create with Connie and Mary card in before it was too late! First up we have my Freshly Made Sketches card. This week the sketch is provided by Narelle…

The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. All of the Designer Series Paper, the frame and the sentiment on the frame are from a Paper Pumpkin Kit. I love this kit because of the frames and the colors. The people in the picture are Me, Wendy Weixler and Brian King. The camera image is form the Around the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit, I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A little Pool Party flag tucked behind it completes the card. It’s definitely a fun way to add a photo to a card and show that the Paper Pumpkin kits can be used for much more than what they are intended!

Next up we have my card for the Create with Connie and Mary color/sketch challenge…

I used the colors and some elements from the sketch for my card. The base is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die to cut out a piece of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper. A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The leaves are made using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and a piece of Pistachio Pudding. A piece of Calypso Coral and Baked Brown Sugar are flagged and slipped underneath. The image is a stamp that Shannon West designed and was given out as a Prize Patrol gift. I cut it out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I thought the stamp was a great way to use one of the personalized stamps instead of just with a name and address. I also love the way that the Pretty Print Folder goes with the DSP. Paper Players 155 & Sneak Peek!

Hello my friends and a good afternoon to you! I had this great idea that after I landed this morning I would come home and make a card and get my post done. Well, that didn’t happen! I passed out! Sorry for my lateness. My time at Convention was amazing and I have made so many new friends and I think that was definitely the best part. Of course the new product announcements were pretty cool too! But the people part of the equation made the whole experience one that I will never forget. I’ll be posting some pictures over the next couple of weeks, I hope that you enjoy them. Here is my first one for you. Did you ever meet someone and it feels like you have known them forever, that would be how it was with my new bestie Brian King. He is an incredibly talented, funny and kind person. Now if only he didn’t snore… just kidding!

That’s us in front of Stampin’ Up! Headquarters in Riverton. I’m so happy for his success and look forward to what is in store for next year!

Continuing on with my sneak peeks of products from the new Holiday Catalog that will be available on August 1st, just a little over a week from now! The base of my card is Costal Cabana Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used some Bushed Silver Card Stock and the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies to cut out the snowflake. The greeting is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set* and is heat embossed with Smokey Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I flagged the left side and threaded it through the snowflake. A sliver of Costal Cabana with some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle to finish it off. Mojo 302 & Sneak Peek

Hello and a very happy Wednesday to you! Why such a happy Wednesday? You know… I will be on a plane in a few hours headed out to Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up! 2013 Be the Difference Convention! Woo hoo! I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of people that I speak to on a regular basis. It’s going to be F U N!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 302, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

I have used a different color combo today and I’m really liking it! The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Soft Sky with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set, that is still available from last years Holiday Catalog, in Soft Sky for the background. Next up is another piece of Raspberry Ripple that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set* and is stamped in Old Olive and backed with a piece of Soft Sky. Up in the left corner is a stamp from the A Round Array Stamp Set also stamped in Soft Sky and punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I backed it with a piece of Old Olive that I punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. On the strip of Old Olive across the bottom is one of the Old Olive Simply Styled Embellishments*. SUO Challenges 75

Hello! I got a very nice surprise when I got to work yesterday. I was looking at my email and a little notice popped up saying the my vacation starts today!! I’m smarter than I think sometimes! LOL! Most of my stuff is finished, I just have to pack! Now where is that suitcase?!

Today’s post is for the SUO Challenges Design Team. This time we have a theme challenge for you and it’s Get Well cards.

The base of my card is Bermuda Bay Card Stock and I embossed a piece of So Saffron with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The greeting is from the Tag It! Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I cut it and a piece of Bermuda Bay out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and adhered the to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The fun flowers are from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and are also stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the coordinating Pansy Punch to punch them out. I made the middles by punching out some Bermuda Bay with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and using my uni-ball Signo Gel Pen I made the little dots. A Mini Glue Dot adheres them to the flowers and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. It’s a simple and pretty card to send to someone that is feeling under the weather. Pals Paper Arts 163 & Sneak Peek

Hey there! How are you today? I’m doing well. I had a very nice day yesterday and the weather held out so the block party was great. Music and lots of food and friends. I made brownies with Chips A’Hoy and Oreo’s in them and they were delicious! I won’t be eating until later on today as I’m still full! How was your Saturday and what did you do?

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 163 a color challenge…

And just in time too! I forgot that they had changed the due date to Mondays! The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. A simple piece of Cherry Cobbler creates the background. I flagged a piece of Whisper White to put behind the piece of Midnight Muse that I cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The greetings are both from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and the one at the top is backed by a piece of Midnight Muse that was also cut out. The Joy is clipped onto the card with some Mini Clothespins from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit. Some Whisper White Bakers Twine is clipped on each peg and tucked behind the flagged piece. I have been wanting to use the clothespins for a while on a card and I love the Cherry Cobbler and Midnight Muse for a Holiday card. Fab Friday 22 & Sneak Peek

Hmm… let’s see what day is today?! Ahh yes… it’s FRIDAY!!!! My absolute favorite day of the week! Busy weekend ahead, block party with the peeps, major crafting to be done too! It was sort of gloomy here yesterday with the occasional rain shower. Today promises more of the same and maybe some for tomorrow too. Let’s hope not!

Today being Friday is made even more awesome because it’s Fab Friday! This time we have a color challenge for you…

When I saw the colors the last thing I thought of was a Christmas card but that’s what appeared! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped Subway style greeting and the Basic Gray star banner are form the O Holy Night Stamp Set*. I Flagged the piece of Whisper White and ran a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down each side. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. I added some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details for a little, well, sparkle! It’s a nice simple card with non-traditional colors that would be easy to make a bunch of for your holiday cards. Paper Craft Crew 50

Wednesday… that means only a week left until my little trip to Salt Lake City! It was funny because I had to call Demo Support last night and I said to Rochelle that I would see her next week! LOL! I didn’t think I would ever say that! I’m feverishly trying to get all of my projects done, we’ll see! It was another nice day here today, a little cooler which was nice. They say rain for tomorrow, hope not!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch 50…

I wanted a neutral, good for a guy or a girl card and this is what I came up with. The base of the card is Smokey Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of Subtles Designer Series Paper. I embossed a piece of Smokey Slate with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and backed it with a piece of Basic Gray. The heart is stamped in Pool Party with the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and is cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. For the stamped part of the greeting I used a part of a stamp from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set markered in Smokey Slate and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. The piercing is done with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. I punched the three little hearts out with the Small Heart Punch and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots. The love is from the Expressions Thinlits Dies* and is adhered with some 2-Way Glue. I told you that I liked the new Thinlits! I think you are going to love the new goodies in the Holiday Catalog! Mojo 301 & Sneak Peek!

Well that was a quick Monday! I like my Monday’s like that! LOL! It was warm again today but no rain so that’s good. We are supposed to have a chance of thunderstorms here every day for a while, hopefully they will miss like they did today. Poor Mr. Winston still hasn’t recovered from the July 4th bombing. He won’t go outside after dark anymore. Hopefull he will get over it soon. Poor Mr. Winston.

Today’s post – Mojo 301, a sketch from Julee TIlman…

Today’s card has a little sneak peek in it for you. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The first layer is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Old Olive and I stamped the greeting from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip. The final layer is a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used the Ovals Framelits Collection to cut out a piece of Chocolate Chip and the image that is also from the Morning Meadow Stamp Set. The flowers are punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and some Basic Jewels Pearls are in the middles. The large flower, also from the same set, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with the Pansy Punch. A Large Pearl is in the center of it. Create with Connie and Mary 259 & Sneak Peek

Hi everyone! How’s it going today? It’s going pretty good over here. Yesterday was gorgeous, a little hot but a beautiful sunny day. I took Winston to work with me yesterday and my friend Danielle’s sister Stephanie brought their dog Dexter up. Winston and Dexter got along quite well, they played and Winston was nice and shared his toys and his water with Dexter. It was like a ghost town at work so it was nice to have the extra company.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 259…

Fun and different wouldn’t you agree? The base of today’s card is So Saffron Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the new Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. The strip across the middle is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut both sides of with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. The half circle is made using the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die from So Saffron. The images are all from the Around the World Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and So Saffron. I used the 1 1/4″ Circle punch, Hexagon Punch and Paper Snips to cut them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card. I like the bold Bermuda Bay with the subtle So Saffron and Soft Suede together. Thanks for coming by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge. Mojo 300 & Sneak Peek!

Hello and happy July 4th! It’s a little overcast here this morning but I think they said it’s supposed to clear up later. I have two BBQ’s to go to today and I’m looking forward to seeing friends and having some yummy food! What are all of you up to?

Today I have my post for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 300. WOW! 300 sketches, that’s a lot! I have participated in 80 of those 300, that’s a lot too! This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

I think I have said it before but I love all of the layers in the Mojo sketches! My card starts off with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used a piece of the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper for the first layer of the background and a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is flagged on the bottom for the next. The circle of Pistachio Pudding is cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the new Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. For the greeting I used the One In a Million Stamp Set, pierced around the edges and backed it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. A Subtles Designer Series Button has some Linen Thread threaded through the holes and is adhered to a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is also flagged. Some more Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit and popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new Pretty Print Embossing Folder, it goes so well with the Venetian Romance DSP paper that I picked!
