Fab Friday and a Fabulous Friday!

Hello my friends! How are you? I am fantastic! As you know I took a little trip on Thursday night. I was a somewhat evasive about my destination, just for a little fun. My trip took me on a Delta flight to Atlanta, GA. I came to visit an amazing friend of mine… Mr. Brian King! We spent the morning yesterday at Historic Banning Mills doing the canopy tour. We had a great time on the ZIp-Line tour, flying high above the trees (about 300 feet!). After some lunch we came back and spent some time in the Fungeon! Below are some pictures from the Zip-Line Tour… IMG_1876

I had an amazing day with my awesome friend, definitely a Fab Friday! Which brings me to today’s post which is for this week’s Fab Friday

Fab Fri 27 Sketch 9-20-2013

Do you see what I see… a window! The base of my card is Real Red Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and used my Squares Collection Framelits Dies to cut out the window. The “scene” through the window is created using the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set stamped in Soft Suede. I inked the stamp once and stamped it four times to give it some depth. Some Stampin’ Dimensional pieces adhere the window to the trees. The Wonderful Wreath Stamp is stamped in Always Artichoke and cut out with my Paper Snips. Yes, I have cut that wreath out a lot! I used my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the berries and a piece of “Vintage” Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon “tied” in a bow completes the wreath. The greeting is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Always Artichoke and backed with a piece of Crumb Cake. I ticked the corners before I adhered them together. You can never have enough Christmas cards and I have a pretty good stash going already! Go and take a look at the Fab Friday Blog and see what fun creations my teammates have come up with. Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Fab Friday Design Team card and sharing in my fun adventures with Brian. Have a great Saturday! 🙂 Fab Friday 27

Woo hoo! You know what today is!! It’s FRIDAY! If I didn’t start my post off like that you would think you were in the wrong place! LOL! Work was very busy all week and office equipment tried to thwart my progress on numerous occasions. Let’s see if I can prevail today. I’m off to Manhattan tonight with my friend Heather to meet some peeps. It’s supposed to be fall like here today with summer making a comeback over the weekend. I’ll let you know about the festivities tomorrow!

It’s also time for another Fab Friday challenge. This week we have a fun color challenge for you…

Fab Fri 26 Colors 9-6-2013

Every once in a while when I see that there are five colors I panic a little but then I realized that all of these colors are in the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper. The base of the card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of the aforementioned DSP that I “ticketed” the corners on and backed with a piece of Chocolate Chip. The snowflakes are from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Sky and cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies. The tag is rounded at the top with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and “ticketed” on the bottom corners. A piece of Crushed Curry punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack is at the top with some Linen Thread tied in a bow. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip. I stamped the Cheer on a cut out from the Label Card Thinlits Dies, I like the 3D effect that it gives the greeting. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You know that I love a non traditional Christmas card and this one definitely fits the bill. It also has a little bit of rustic country feel to it. Thank you very much for checking in with me today to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s color challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what my talented teammates have done and enter your card in the gallery so we can see how clever you are! Have a very fab Friday! 🙂

I always feel so much better after I have made something, don’t you?! I don’t have any definite plans for the weekend so we’ll see what happens. It’s not like my house couldn’t use a little TLC! Before I get to today’s post I want to thank the lovely ladies over at Just Add Ink for choosing my card as their favorite for last week’s just add snowflakes. Fab Fri 25 Sketch 8-23-2013

I do love a ticket and I noticed that the Halloween Bash Stamp Set came with one! The base of my card is Summer Starfruit Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper. I put it on upside and I am sticking with it’s so the bats can read it! (Thanks Sandy!) The greeting is from the Halloween Bash Stamp Set and is stamped in Pumpkin Pie and backed with a piece of Pumpkin Pie. Two thin strips of Basic Gray are embossed with the Needlepoint Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, it reminded me a little of Frankenstein! I mentioned the ticket and it’s stamped in Summer Starfruit and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I love the simplicity and the stamp set is great! Thank you for stopping by to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for our 25th sketch challenge. Ahh… Friday… finally! This week has been crazy busy so I’m so glad to get to the weekend! I plan on spending some quality time with my crafty goodness this weekend. It’s my therapy! Between work and lots to do after work I think I have gotten about 5 hours of sleep every night this week. I need a nap! LOL! How has everything been by you? I have nothing planned for the weekend so it should be a nice relaxing one. I’m having dinner with a friend this evening so that will be fun and a good way to start it off.

On a side note, I’m so glad that you enjoyed the Blog Tour and my “different” Back to School card! 🙂

Today’s post is for Fab Friday. This time around we have a fun soothing color combo for you…

Fab Fri 24 Colors 8-9-2013

Nice soft colors and a neutral! I’m having so much fun playing with the new Thinlits and all of the elements that come with them. There are so many ways to customize them it’s almost unlimited what you can do. My card today starts off with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock that I cut out with the Circle Card Thinlits Die. I then used my Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the middle of the circle on the card and the piece of Pistachio Pudding that frames it on either side. All of the elements are from either the Circle Card or the Label Card Thinlits. I love the intricate detailed cuts that you get and who doesn’t like some arrows and chevrons! I suspended the xoxo on a piece of Calypso Coral Bakers Twine in the middle of the circle. The background for the inside is a piece of Very Vanilla that I stamped with the Off the Grid Stamp in Crisp Cantaloupe. It’s neat the way you can line up the stamp to make it cover a larger area (thanks Stamp-a-ma-jig). I really like the suspended element and the flip fold is fun! The Thinlits make it so easy to make an interactive card. Thank you very much for coming by to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for the color challenge. Click on over to the blog and see what my talented mates have come up with and enter your creation in the gallery. We love to see what you have done! I hope that you have a “fab”ulous Friday!!

Fab Friday and Still More Pics!

Wee! It’s Friday! And yes, I have a few more pictures from Convention. I promise, they are almost finished! I was supposed to go see my brother in Pennsylvania tomorrow but I have been told that he is coming up here so I guess that would be a little pointless. Instead, I’ll go and see my friend Kim in Manhattan, that will be loads of fun! So I was lucky enough to meet the wonderful Sarah Douglas. She is such a nice person and she gave some really informative demonstrations. Here we are on the night of the 25th Anniversary party…

Sarah Douglas SU! Conv 2013

She had a really nice dress on too and her little dimple is so cute!

And here is the Fab Friday Design Team. It was so awesome to meet everyone in person. The only one missing was Amanda, but she was on vacation so it’s all good! What a great bunch of people!

Now for today’s post. It’s Fab Friday! This week we have a sketch for you to play with…

Fab Fri 23 Sketch 7-26-2013

Clean and simple, woo hoo! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of So Saffron for the background and stamped the greeting from the Happy Day Stamp Set in Basic Black right on it. Up top I used the Tea Lace Paper Doily that I used for the mask on the card from Friday’s card. It was spritzed with Bermuda Bay Re-Inker from a Stampin’ Spritzer and I trimmed the top and side a little. In the middle is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I punched out with the  2 1/2″ Circle Punch and embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Bermuda Bay on “Vintage” First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I cut them out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A teeny Subtles Designer Series Button is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot in the middle of each one. I love the color combo and the “Vintage” First Edition DSP is still one of my favorites. Thanks so much for stopping by to see my Fab Friday Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what my other creative team mates have done with the sketch and enter yours in the gallery so you can be a Fab Fave! Fab Friday 22 & Sneak Peek

Hmm… let’s see what day is today?! Ahh yes… it’s FRIDAY!!!! My absolute favorite day of the week! Busy weekend ahead, block party with the peeps, major crafting to be done too! It was sort of gloomy here yesterday with the occasional rain shower. Today promises more of the same and maybe some for tomorrow too. Let’s hope not!

Today being Friday is made even more awesome because it’s Fab Friday! This time we have a color challenge for you…

Fab Fri 22 Colors 7-12-2013

When I saw the colors the last thing I thought of was a Christmas card but that’s what appeared! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped Subway style greeting and the Basic Gray star banner are form the O Holy Night Stamp Set*. I Flagged the piece of Whisper White and ran a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down each side. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. I added some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details for a little, well, sparkle! It’s a nice simple card with non-traditional colors that would be easy to make a bunch of for your holiday cards. Thanks for spending some of your Friday with me to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for the color challenge. Make sure to stop by the blog to see what the other clever designers have come up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see how clever you are! I hope you have a really good Friday! 🙂

Are you ready… here we go… it’s FRIDAY!!!! Wee!! Yesterday turned out to be a nice day for the golf outing. It rained a little in the middle of the day but cleared up so the golfers could finish. Dinner was great! As soon as we finished packing up it started to pour, glad it waited! I’m off to Manhattan tomorrow morning to see my friend Kim and then to Fire Island to visit some friends. A busy weekend, but a fun one.

Today’s post is my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Challenge. This time around we have a fun sketch for you…

Fab Fri 21 Sketch 6-28-2013

Do you see what I see… a frame! We all know that I’m slightly obsessed with frames lately! The base of my card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. The middle of my frame is cut out with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and filled with a piece of paper from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper Pack. Before I adhered it to the card I put a pice of Brushed Gold behind it that I punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. The arrow, that I cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits, is also Brushed Gold. The greeting and the bird are from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting in Basic Black and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out. The bird is also heat embossed in gold and cut out with my Paper Snips. I love the black, vanilla and gold together with the sahara, and the frame… well you know how I feel about that! Thanks very much for coming by to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for the Sketch challenge. Fab Friday 20

Ahh yes peeps, it FRIDAY! And it didn’t come soon enough! Yesterday was overcast and rainy but today it’s supposed to clear up and tomorrow is supposed to be nice. This week at work has been super busy and I will be glad to focus on some crafting this weekend to relieve some stress. Making cards is definitely therapy for me, when I don’t get the chance to make something I really do feel like there is something missing in my day. It is definitely one of the things that I am most thankful for, the ability to be creative and I thank you for sharing it with me!

Today’s post – Fab Friday 20, the new In-Colors…

Fab Fri 20 Color 6-14-2013

It’s very rare that I make a card that doesn’t use the Big Shot or more than one stamp set, today is one of those rare occasions! The base of my card is Vellum Card Stock. I thought it would be neat to use it for the card itself for a change too. The background is a piece of Whisper White. The images and greeting are from the Six Sided Sampler Stamp Set and are stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Costal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe. I used the Hexagon Punch to punch them out and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the colors together and the hexagons are very cool and trendy right now. Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my Fab Friday Design Team card for the color challenge. Be sure to head on over to the blog and take a look at what my clever teammates have come up with. Now on to today’s post which is my Fab Friday Design Team card. This time we have a rather neat sketch…

Fab Fri 19 Sketch 5-31-2013

This was one of those ones that I knew what I was going to use as soon as I saw it! Love when that happens! The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack and backed it with some Gumball Green. The circle is punched out from the 2 1/2″ Circle punch and backed with some Early Espresso. I choose the images form the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and stamped them in Island Indigo and Gumball Green. The greeting is from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set and is flagged and backed by some Early Espresso. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals give it a little pop. I love the Island Indigo and Gumball Green together. I think the Gumball tones down the Indigo while the Indigo gives the gumball some oomph. Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for the sketch from Fab Friday. Head on over to the blog to see the other designers work and enter your card so you can be a Fab Fave! Enjoy your Friday and don’t forget to place your orders!!

Fab Friday 18 & Sneak Peek

A very happy to Friday to you all! I’m off today and am going to do some cleaning, crafting and relaxing. I look at a day off as a chance to catch up on some neglected things. Cleaning as of late has been neglected and relaxing is always neglected, the crafting is just a necessity! The weather here today was torrential downpours and then some sun. It was alittle muggy but not cold so I’m ok with that!

Today’s post – Fab Friday Design Team 18 Color Challenge…

Fab Fri 18 Color 5-09-2013

The idea for this card started out with wanting to punch the new alphabet out with the new Mosaic Punch and grew from there. The base of the card is Soft Suede. The middle consists of some Print Poetry Designer Series Paper, Summer Starfruit embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Primrose Petals stamped with the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set. The letters are from the ABC – 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set* stamped in Raspberry Ripple and punched out with the Mosaic Punch*. I think I have mentioned how fond I am of the new alphabet, it’s a great size and I like the sketched look. Thank you for visiting with me today to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s color challenge. Check out the Fab Friday Blog to see what the other designers have for you and enter your card for me to see! Have a wonderful day!

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Stampin’ Up! has released their first Photopolymer Stamp Set! It’s called Designer Typeset! The great thing about Photopolymer Stamps is that they are completely clear so you can see exactly where you are going to stamp. They work amazingly with our new Firm Foam Stampin’ Pads for great ink coverage. You are going to love them! This is a limited release so make sure you get one before it’s gone!

Stampin’ Up! has a sneak peek for you from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog and the best part is you can get it right now! It’s called A Round Array and you can get it as a bundle with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch for $23.95 or just the Stamp Set for  $14.95. You can purchase this now through May 30th.
