Paper Players 194

Monday… that’s all I have to say about that! I hope that you all had a nice weekend. I definitely did! Saturday morning I did some sneaker stuff with Andrew, we had lunch and then he went home for a bit and I came home and finished up my projects for yesterday’s Creative Station post. Andrew came back later and we got some dinner and finished up my post. Yesterday I took it easy, I did some laundry and watched a few movies. A nice relaxing Sunday after a busy few days. So, did you all enjoy the first Creation Station Blog Tour yesterday?! I had so much fun making the projects and taking the pictures of the process. Thank you to all of you that visited! Time to get ready for the next one in two weeks, it will be here before you know it!

Monday and it’s time once again for the Paper Players challenge. This week the wonderful Jaydee has asked to celebrate Mother…

Paper Players #194

A very timely challenge seeing as Mother’s Day is next week! I have been coloring my little fingers off with the new Stampin’ Blendabilities*, they are so great that I used them on today’s card too! My card base is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped an image from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight, stamping off too. I ran the card through the Big Shot using the File Tabs Edgelits*. My greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on the tab. To add a little interest I adhered a piece of paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack to the inside right of the card. My tag is created using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and I stamped it with the Very Vintage Jumbo Stampin’ Around Wheel in Sahara Sand. The flowers are from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink* and colored in with the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers*. I used the Pansy Punch to punch them out and adhered them to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The lovely butterfly is from the “Vintage” Best of Butterflies 25th Anniversary Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black* and colored in with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers*. He too is held in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Can you tell how much I am loving those Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers*?!?! I have been coloring the day away! LOL! I also am digging the File Tab Edgelits*, they add some nice interest to the card don’t you think? I hope that you enjoyed my take on this week’s challenge from Jaydee and the Paper Players. Thanks so much for taking some time to catch up with me, I really appreciate your visit and I hope that you have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Creation Station Inaugural Post

creation station header

It has been a busy couple of days on the JK Cards blog! Friday I had four projects, yesterday I had two and today I have three! Today is the first post for a new design team called the Creation Station. We are here to give you lots of inspiration, so there will be plenty of photos. Every other Sunday we will focus on a few stamp sets and other items from the catalog giving you ideas on how to incorporate different items together in new and fun ways. I was honored when I was asked by Jen Arkfeld to participate and what fun it is to be with such a talented group of people. Feedback from you is very important, so be sure to let us know what you think! Let’s get started, shall we?

The first stamp set that we are focusing on today is the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set. It’s a two step stamp set that gives you great shading details. My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp in Sahara Sand directly on it. Across the top is a thin piece of Gold Foil Sheet. The flowers from the stamp set are stamped in Strawberry Slush and Rose Red.

Creation Station Card 1 Creation Station Card 2

The Stamp-a-ma-jig make the two step stamping nice and easy. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive and Always Artichoke. They are all cut out with my Paper Snips.

Creation Station Card 3

To back them, I created a tag from Crumb Cake Card Stock using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the flourish from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set in Old Olive and adhered the tag and flowers to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Label Something Stamp Set and in stamped in Old Olive, punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and it too is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut the card base to 4 inches wide so I could let the flowers hang off the side of the card, while still allowing the card to fit into a standard sized envelope. I really like the Hardwood Background with the florals, it gives the card a nice, outdoorsy feel.

Creation Station Card 5

Creation Station Card 4

On to the next card! The next stamp set we focused on is the Geometrical Stamp Set. I did a hybrid card using both the stamp set and the digital download with my E-Cutter. The card base is Strawberry Slush Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with my E-Cutter and the Geometrical Digital Download.

Creation Station Card 6

I stamped the second part of the greeting in Basic Black from the Traditional Stamp Set.

Creation Station Card 7

Each of the cut out triangles is backed with a piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. The triangles are stamped in Basic Black, Basic Gray and Crushed Curry and they are all punched out with the Triangle Punch. The panel and all of the triangles are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the sentiment and the triangles look really cool when they are cut out of the panel and the DSP behind the triangles is a fun way to tie in the colors of the card.

Creation Station Card 9

Creation Station Card 8

The last we are focusing on today are the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes. There is a neat accessory kit that you can buy to go with them, but I opted to do something a little different. After assembling the box, I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock with the Dictionary Background Stamp and scored it with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Creation Station Box 10

I wrapped a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape and a piece of Crushed Curry 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon lengthwise around the card stock before adhering it to the acetate sleeve with the new Fast Fuse Adhesive. My flowers are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in using the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers.

Creation Station Box 11

The Secret Garden Framelits cut them out and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the ribbon. My greeting is from the Four You Stamp Set and is stamped, again, in Memento Tuxedo Black. I flagged the ends of the strip and adhered it to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some Basic Jewels Pearls in the centers of the flowers complete the box. I think the Dictionary Background Stamp is a perfect background canvas for a little box like this and I really love the way the flowers came out using the new Blendabilities Markers.

And there are my three projects for my first ever Creation Station Design Team post!

Double Header – Freshly Made Sketches 134 & Pals Paper Arts 202

Today was a very nice day! It was sunny and in the high 60’s and the best part was that I was out of the office for a good part of the day! I had to stop at WalMart on the way to work and pick up a TV stand. When I got to work I assembled it and did some other things before I headed to the Airport. I took one of the vans, the TV and stand didn’t fit in my car! I got to MacArthur around 11:45 and installed the TV in the exhibit space. One small problem was that there was no extension cord but the woman that I spoke to assured me that they would take card of that. I stopped home on the way back to get my boss a few cards that she needed. I got back to the office around 2:30 and then had to run out again to pick up some flowers. I got in my car and put the top down and had a nice ride! After work I had some dinner and came home and unpacked my pre-order, mounted my stamps and made a few projects. Like I said a very nice day!

Today I have a double post for you! Tomorrow I’m starting a new adventure with a few talented stampers, most of whom I’m sure you are familiar with. I wanted to get my Freshly Made Sketches and Pals Paper Arts cards posted before that so those are the two projects I have for you today. As a bonus they both use goodies from my pre-order! Let’s get to them, shall we?!

Up first is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches and this week’s sketch is courtesy of the lovely Karren…

Freshly Made Sketches #134

The card base is Night of Navy Card Stock. My background consists of two pieces of paper from the Maritime Designer Series Paper Pack. All of the stamped images except for the greeting are from the Sea Street Stamp Set. The octopus is stamped in Coastal Cabana on Whisper White and backed with some Real Red that I cut out with the Circle Collection Framelits. The strip of flags is stamped in Night of Navy and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The two starfish are stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with my Paper Snips and also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Something to Say Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. To finish off the card I added some Brights Candy Dots to the banner of flags. A nice bright fun card with neat Designer Series Paper and a whimsical stamp set don’t you think?!

Next up is my project for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 202

I always do a card but since I had some new stuff to play with I thought I would do a 3D project instead. The box is created with the Hamburger Box Bigz XL Die cut from a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock. A quick run through the Big Shot and some folding and Sticky Strip and you have a neat little box! I used some Multi-Purpose Adhesive to attach the Tea Lace Paper Doily to the top. The onesie, socks and duck are from the Something for Baby Stamp Set, stamped in Bermuda Bay and Real Red, and cut out with the Baby’s First Framelits. My greeting is from the Baby We’ve Grown Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Starburst Framelits. All of the elements are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A fun and easy favor for a baby shower or a neat way to give a gift card to a new arrival! I wasn’t sure about the Hamburger Box but I’m really glad that I got it now!

And there are my projects for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches and Pals Paper Arts. I had a lot of fun playing with my new stuff and I hope that you enjoyed both the card and the box! I thank you, as always for coming by and I hope you all have a great Saturday! Don’t forget to come back tomorrow and see what new adventures await! 🙂

SplitCoast Creative Crew

So after all of that rain that we had yesterday, and I think they said that we got around 6 inches, the sun came out around noon and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon! We got up to 68 degrees, made the rain yesterday sort of worth it. It was so nice to go outside and feel the warm sun and not have to wear a jacket! And today is Friday! What could be better than that! I don’t have anything specific planned for the weekend with the exception of some projects to make. It should be a great weekend too because I get my Catalog pre-order today, yes I overnighted it! The addiction continues! LOL!

My post for today is a big one. I have been asked to join the SplitCoast Creative Crew again! I had so much fun making the projects when I was on last year I was happy to join the talented group of 24 people this time around! I have four projects for you today, three cards and a mini album. Lets get to them!

My first card is for the DSP/Color Focus: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate. We are asked to use a technique of our choosing that imitates our watercolor wonder designer papers. I love the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper so here is my take. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used a piece of Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight to create the mat for my piece of Watercolor Card Stock. Using the Flower Shop Stamp Set I inked the stamp in Island Indigo, Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight. I spritzed them each time with water from my Stampin’ Spritzer and stamped each one three times to create the background. I stamped them again in the same colors on some Whisper White and punched them out with the Pansy Punch. My leaves are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Gray and cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits. The leaves are adhered to the background with Multi-Purpose Glue and the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Quite the Pair Stamp Set and is stamped in Smoky Slate and cut out with my Paper Snips. I really do love the effect that spritzing water on the stamp gives the image and the colors are nice and bright!

CCREW0514DF-JK-WM

My next card is for the Catalog Focus: scoring tools. We are asked to use all or one of these scoring tools-Simply Scored Tool, Simply Scored Borders Plate and/or Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to add interest to a gatefold card. My card base is Daffodil Delight Card Stock cut so it’s a gatefold card. The two Whisper White panels on the front are created using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. It gives it a lattice like look. The flowers and butterfly are from the Polka-Dot Pieces Stamp Set and are stamped in Melon Mambo, Island Indigo and Night of Navy. I used the 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punches and the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch them out. I created a belly band from a piece of Pear Pizzaz and adhered all of my stamped images to it with SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy and punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I love the lattice look behind the flowers and the colors are inspired by the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. A fun simple card, don’t you think?!

CCREW0514CF-JK-WM

My third card is for the Holiday Focus: National Photograph Month. We are asked to create a card that looks like a photograph by putting a border around our image and making the image glossy. You may use On Film Framelits or make your own, you may use Window Sheets for glossiness or Crystal Effects. My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Soft Suede that I stamped in Soft Suede with the Hardwood Background Stamp. My greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The stamped images are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, the flowers are stamped in Elegant Eggplant and the leaves in Garden Green. I masked them off to give it a more realistic look. A piece of Whisper White is cut out with the On Film Framelits. I adhered it and a piece of Window Sheet to the Soft Sky stamped piece and the to the card. Very clever the way the Window Sheet does really make it look like a glossy photo, I’ll definitely do that again!

CCREW0514HF-JK-WM

The final project is for the Scrapbook and More Focus: Mini Books. I used the new Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Cards, Stamps and Framelits to create my mini book. The cover and back are Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzaz that I cut out with the Project Life Cars & Labels Framelits Dies. On the cover I cut the speech bubble out with the Word Bubbles Framelits and stamped the stars from the Project Life Point & Click Photopolymer Stamp Set in Basic Black. The NYC is from the Sans & Stripes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Black. All of the pages in the middle are the cards from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Cards Collection and I rounded the corners using the Project Life Corner Rounder. I used the Washi tape from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Accessory Pack to “hold” the photos in place and some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to hold the cards together. I love the way you can see the photo on the first page through the Word Bubble! A fun simple mini book using the new Project Life by Stampin’ Up! line. Pretty neat huh?!

You can see the rest of the design teams projects by heading over to SplitCoast and searching for CreativeCrew. Thank you very much for spending a little extra time with me today, I hope that you have an awesome Friday! 🙂

Catherine & Cathy Create 31

First let me apologize for the email that you received about my post last night. I was trying to productive and type my post on the train on the way into Manhattan and I accidentally posted it instead of saving it as a draft. Such a dunce! LOL! This is the actual real post, so sorry again. From now on we type the posts on the phone in Evernote and not the WordPress App! Speaking of Manhattan, dinner was good and the show was excellent as always! As soon as I have some time I’ll post some of the video here. Oh and it poured non stop. By the time I did get home I could actually wring the water out of my pants. I only got to take one picture outside the venue. It was under an awning, the only dry place to be had as there was a leak in part of the ceiling in Tammany Hall too. It’s just the street but I find that you can see so much in Manhattan just looking down the street…

Outside Tammany Hall

Nothing exciting, just some buildings and cars. I do think that the buildings in Manhattan are neat, there are no two that are exactly alike. Not the most exciting picture but a little view of what I saw last night. 🙂

Today I’m over on the Catherine & Cathy Create blog for the monthly challenge…

CCC Challenge General Logo

I have had the Natural Composition Designer Series Paper forever and I think I have only used it once! Seeing as it’s going “Vintage” I thought I should use it now! The base of my card starts off with a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Naturals Composition Designer Series Paper. My main panel is also Whisper White. The letters may look familiar, they are the ones that were cut out of yesterday’s card! I used some 2-Way Glue to adhere them. A piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape goes across the middle and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the base. The two large stars are from the Simply Starts Stamp Set are stamped in Bermuda Bay. I used the “Vintage” Large Star Punch to punch them out. The small gold stars are Gold Foil Sheet and that are punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. For the medium star I used some Champagne Glimmer Paper and the star from the Circle Card Thinlits. My greeting is from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set, I selectively stamped just the “Lovely” and heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the elements to the panel. I really like the bright white, blue and gold against the kraft color of the Designer Series Paper. I’m a little bummed that I didn’t use it more! You can go and see what the rest of the Design Team have come up with for the challenge by taking a little visit to the blog. Did you enjoy today’s card? Let me know what you thought by leaving a comment. Thanks for taking the time to come and see me! Have a fantastic Thursday!

Paper Players 193 & Pics!

Now you know I am not normally a fan of Monday but this Monday is different! I will be leaving work early and heading up to Connecticut with my friend Sandy for the Stampin’ Up! 2014-2015 Catalog Premiere! I can’t wait to see what new goodies we will get to play with come June! It’s a 2 1/2 hour ride each way but well worth it don’t you think?! Yesterday was sunny but cool here in New York. I had a lovely morning in Manhattan. Some diner breakfast with Kim and then off to see some friends for a bit. I met back up with Kim and we went to the Target in Riverside Plaza. I got home around 3:15 and did some laundry and worked on some of my projects that I needed to finish, I didn’t get all of them done but I made a dent! I have some Manhattan pictures for you too! The first one is the tunnel exit from Grand Central for the Metro North trains. I have to admit that I didn’t even know that it was there! It goes right down the middle of Park Avenue and comes out at 97th Street. I took a shot in the other direction too, I love all of the buildings and there is even a little park.

Metro North Park Ave Tunnel

97th & Park

The next picture was taken from the parking garage at Riverside Plaza. There really aren’t many places in Manhattan where you can’t take a pretty neat picture!

Riverside Plaza

That’s the FDR Drive and the East River, the land across the river is Randall’s Island. I think that the clouds in the sky look pretty neat too, it’s like they parted!

Today being Monday also means that It’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge and this week we have a sketch from sweet Anne Marie…

Paper Players #193

I wanted to keep my card nice and simple but colorful too so I used some Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that I embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Both of the panels use Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper, the long one is backed with Gumball Green and the other with Raspberry Ripple. My greetings are both from the Sketched Birthday Stamp Set, the cupcake is stamped in Bermuda Bay, punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and has a little Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details on it. The eat cake is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. All of the pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Basic Jewel Rhinestones complete the card. I do enjoy the colors in the Birthday Basics DSP and the Sketched Birthday is a fun set! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Anne Marie. Hopefully I will be coherent enough when I get home tonight to remember the Catalog Launch! Thanks so much for coming by today and I hope that you all have a great Monday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 201

Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least. I planned to stay home most of the day and do crafty things, but that was interrupted by a faulty iPhone. I made an appointment and headed to the Apple store and they told me my only option was to purchase a replacement phone for $270 because it was out of warranty! I will refrain from repeating what I said to the gentleman at the store, but it wasn’t a pleasant experience for either of us. I was slightly annoyed to say the least. So I made a trip to my local Best Buy and traded in my faulty iPhone for $230 towards the purchase of a shiny, new iPhone 5S. Justin is happy again. LOL! 🙂 I did manage to get some of my projects done, but not all of them. Maybe when I get back from Manhattan later today, I’ll finish the rest. I had some pizza with my friend Kim last night and some quality chatting time with Andrew. All in all, a very good Saturday, as I hope yours was too.

My card for today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 201

Not an overly complicated sketch which is kind of nice. My card starts off with a base of Island Indigo Card Stock. The two background panels and the strip on the left are from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack. The main panel in the middle is also from the same DSP Pack and is backed with a piece of Whisper White and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The panel that goes across the middle is a piece of Vellum Card Stock and I stamped my greeting from the Simply Celebrate Stamp Set in Night of Navy. My final addition to the card is a butterfly from the soon to be “Vintage” Backyard Basics Stamp Set. I stamped it in Night of Navy and used an eyeshadow applicator and some Island Indigo to color it in. The Backyard Basics Framelits are used to cut it out and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the Vellum. I really like the way the Vellum gives the card depth by making the flowers behind it look further away. I hope you enjoyed my take on this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to stop by and check out the blog today! I hope your Sunday is a great one! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 133

Did I get out of work early yesterday you might ask… why no, I did not. I made a few attempts but with no avail. Sigh… I really did try too! Oh well, I made the most of my Friday night by coming home and starting some of the 12 projects that I need to get finished this weekend. I watched a little TV for a bit, had some dinner and puttered around. Not an overly exciting Friday night but they don’t all have to be now do they?! Andrew did stop by late last night, a visit from a friend is always good. Tomorrow will be more work on the projects and then who knows. Sunday morning I will be heading into Manhattan for a bit. Looks to be a busy but fun weekend and those are always the best kind wouldn’t you say?!

My post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and it comes to us from Cindy L….

Freshly Made Sketches #133

I really like the sketch, simple but with just enough to add some interest wouldn’t you say? My card starts off with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock. The half circle and flagged strip are both pieces of paper from the High Tide Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out my circle and flagged the end of my strip with my Paper Snips. The center panel starts off with a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with an image from the By the Tide Stamp Set in Calypso Coral. It’s an image of coral so I thought the color was fitting! LOL! I backed it with some Calypso Coral and then adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My fish is from the same set and is heat embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Smoky Slate. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold both of them to the panel. Clean, simple and even though there is some coral I still think it would make a great masculine birthday card, don’t you? I thank you for coming by to see my Freshly Made Sketches challenge card. I always love my time with you and I hope that your weekend is off to a great start! 🙂

Fab Friday 40 & Bonus!

Sometimes a word that begins with F can be bad, but sometimes it can be good… really good, as in FRIDAY!!!! Oh how I have been looking froward to this F word all week! LOL! Work was pretty quiet yesterday, a nice change from most days, and greatly appreciated! After work I came home and worked on a few projects and watched a little TV. I have decided that giving up TV all together was a bad idea. My brain needs to rest and that seems to be the only time it does, when I sit in front of the TV. It was really windy here yesterday again. When the wind did stop for a second or two it was actually quite nice. Let’s hope that it’s done for now! I also discovered that Stampin’ Up! has Pinned my card to their April Paper Pumpkin Board! How cool is that?!?! You can see it HERE! Oh, I have a little extra project for you today too! It will be at the very end after all of the other stuff so make you scroll down to see it!

Don’t forget that today is also the last day for FREE Shipping! 🙂

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge. We have a very different color combo for you…

Fab Fri 40 Sketch 4-25-2014

I did a few different things before I finally came up with my card. Sometimes that’s just how it goes right?! My card base is actually Crumb Cake Card Stock. My background covers the entire front of the card so you can’t really see it. Speaking of the background, it’s a piece of Early Espresso Core’dinations. Again, I just love the texture on the card stock! Next up is a piece of Summer Starfruit that I rounded the corners on and then embossed it with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The large circle is a piece of Smoky Slate that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. The script on it and the greeting are form the Notable Notions Stamp Set. The script is stamped in Smoky Slate and the greeting in Early Espresso on a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that I punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The cute little bee is from the soon to be “Vintage” Stamp Set Backyard Basics. He is stamped in Early Espresso on Summer Starfruit and cut out with the matching Backyard Basics Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere all of the pieces to the card and one another. Finally I scattered some iridescent gray sequins around to finish the card. It’s definitely not a color combo that I would have thought to put together but it’s sort of fun don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday color challenge. Take a minute to go over to the blog and see the projects that my fellow Design Team members have for you and enter your card in the gallery for us to see your interpretation. I wish you all very good Friday and thank you for stopping by! 🙂

Here is my bonus project! I’m not a scrapbooker by any means but I do like to do one every once in a while. I did an 8 x 8 page featuring my favorite group! Satellite Lane! LOL! I used the iPad App Pop-A-Graph to make the band members color and the background black and white in the photograph. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Mojo 342

Well, I’m glad that Wednesday is behind us! That was a long day indeed! I got home around 10:15, way too long of a day. For as long as it was it wasn’t too bad of a day. It was really windy here yesterday again and didn’t feel very spring like and today promises more of the same. One day Spring will finally get here and stay, I hope! Today will be a good day and tomorrow will be even better, hopeful I will get to sneak out a little early. I didn’t get to go the airport yesterday to set up the TV, they need to get some kind of variance for the space so we have to wait for that first. Always something to cause a delay, but that’s just the way it goes! How are things by you? Hopefully all is well! 🙂

Today my post is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge from Julee Tilman…

Mojo342

For some reason, I had an inner need to use the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper on today’s card. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock and my background and strip of paper down the middle (which is backed with a piece of Strawberry Slush) are both from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper Pack. Next up is a strip of Basic Gray that I cut along the bottom edge with the Finishing Touches Edgelits. My square is a piece of Crushed Curry backed with a piece of Basic Black and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Starburst Framelits and that, too, is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The arrow is a piece of Strawberry Slush that I cut out with one of the elements from the Label Card Thinlits and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well. I’m a big fan of all of the geometric patterns in the Kaleidoscope DSP as well as the colors, they are nice and bright and who doesn’t need a little brightness in their day? I hope you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I always appreciate your visits and I hope your Thursday is a good one!
