Freshly Made Sketches 120

It’s my favorite day as you well know! It’s FRIDAY! Wee! The past two weeks have not been full work weeks but them seem longer for some reason. I hope that the weekend goes just as slowly! I have a party to go to tomorrow night and it’s supposed to snow again. I’m sure that you are sick of hearing about my hatred of snow, but I really do not like it! LOL! Sunday I think will be a relaxing day, maybe even a movie! What’s on for the weekend for you?!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and Rita has given us this…

I had a few different versions of my card before I actually decided to glue it all together! My card base is Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The piece that I used is quite different from the rest of the prints, love that! I created my banner by using two sizes from the Banners Framelits Dies to cut out some Basic Black and adhered it to the background with 2-Way Glue. My greeting is from the You’re Lovely Stamp Set** from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog, just four more days until you can get some goodies for yourself! I used Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss the image on Basic Black. The Deco Labels Framelits Dies are used to cut it out and also for the piece of Gold Foil Sheet that I backed it with. Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere both to each other and the card. I’m liking the black embossed with the gold and the DSP is a really neat pattern! Guess what?! It’s FRIDAY!! My favorite day of the week!! I only had a four day week but it felt like much more! Yesterday was productive which is always a good thing. We are supposed to get snow tonight into Saturday morning. I’ll be off to Manhattan and I usually drive in but if there is snow maybe not. I think I may call my friend Kim and see what she’s up to, maybe I’ll stay by her Friday night! It’s always nice to have options! 🙂

Today my post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This time around we have a fun sketch from Cindy L….

I’m loving the Sale-A-Bration Catalog this year, so much that I find myself wishing that it was in the Occasions Catalog instead! My card today starts with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set for my greeting, stamped in Basic Black right on the base. The angled background paper is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack**. For the flagged strip across the top half and the flowers I used the Petal Parade Stamp Set**. The strip is stamped in Pistachio Pudding with my Stamp-a-ma-jig and the flowers in Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit. I punched the flowers out with the 1 1/4″ and 1 3/4″ Circle Punches and adhered all of the pieces to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the colors in the Designer Series Paper and the stamp set has so many fun elements in it! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. Freshly Made Sketches 117 & Sneak Peek

I was up at 4:15 yesterday morning and to work by 6:50, it was the last forum and I was glad to see them finished! The rest of work was quiet and I managed to sneak out at 2:00! I came home a crafted for a bit and then went to my parents for dinner. My brother and his wife came with my little Nephew Daniel. He is so cute!! I finally got to hold him for a bit and he was nice and quiet for me. Babies like me for some reason, maybe I have a soothing voice?!?! LOL! Oh, I hope that you enjoyed the Control Freaks Blog Tour yesterday and your little peek at the 2014 Occasions Catalog! Thanks for all of your lovely comments!! 🙂

Today’s card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and this week it’s a fun super clean one from sweet Amy…

I absolutely loved the card that she made, and all of the other ones are awesome too! You know I have a thing for vellum so I used some of the fun new Designer Vellum from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. My banners are cut from some Brushed Gold Card Stock, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Gold Foil Sheet and Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum*. I used some of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape* over a piece of Whisper White and some Stampin’ Dimensionals across the top of the flags. My greeting is from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some really tiny Stampin’ Dimensional pieces adhere that to the card. Not and overly complicated card but I love the gold and vellum with the Midnight Muse! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Freshly Made Sketches 116 & Sneak Peeks

Today was the start of the deep freeze that we are headed into, yeah! NOT! It was very cold here today and it was a balmy 36 degrees. I say balmy because tomorrow night it’s supposed to 18! Brrr!! I had a busy but good day at work, there always is a lot to get done but I have a good bunch of people in my department so it’s all good. I got to test drive my presentation for Leadership last night and now will polish it and get it finished, less than a month to go! Time really does fly!

My inspiration for today’s post comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I do love some banners and I got a new goodie from the man in brown yesterday too so I had to use it! The base of today’s card is Coastal Cabana Card Stock. My background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The flags and hearts are from the Language of Love Stamp Set* and are stamped in Coastal Cabana and Blushing Bride. I used the Banners Framelits Dies* to cut out the banners and the hearts are punched out with the Small Heart Punch. My greeting is from the Love You to the Moon Stamp Set* and is stamped in Coastal Cabana and backed with some Blushing Bride. The Blushing Bride hearts are adhered to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the panel to the card with some more. I love the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, it looks cool either side that you use and the colors are nice and soft but fun. Are you enjoying your sneak peeks?! Freshly Made Sketches 115

T G I F!! This week could not have come to an end quickly enough. To give you an idea of what my day was like yesterday, by the time 1:00 rolled around, I had walked 6 miles… in the office. Who needs the gym?! My post is very early today because as I have already complained about (LOL), I have to be at work at 6:15 this morning. But soon, it will all be done and I will come home for a nap. Yay! Tomorrow I’m off to Connecticut with my friend Kim to see my friend Andrew sing. What are you up to this weekend?

My inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches…

The card today uses all pre-order stuff from the new Occasions Catalog. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. The strip starts off with a piece of Tangerine Tango and I cut both sides using the Small Scallop Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Blade, the piece of paper is from the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper Pack*. My frames, cameras and arrow are cut out using the On Film Framelits Dies*, the frames from Baked Brown Sugar and the arrow and cameras from Coastal Cabana. I used a hole punch to punch out some Gold Foil Sheet for the lenses on the cameras. The greeting comes from the Hip Notes Stamp Set* and is stamped in Coastal Cabana on the arrow. Like I said yesterday, I’m really loving the new stuff and I think it’s neat that the framelits actually emboss the camera and cut it out at the same time. Freshly Made Sketches 114

So you know how I was all excited about having off on Friday? Well let me tell you, they made up for that yesterday. I did about three days worth of work today, so much for getting out early! It was rainy and nasty all day here today, they promise it will be sunny tomorrow though. We shall see! I have lots to do today. I’m dog sitting, I have some more bookmarks to make (work had asked for 40 bookmarks, they’ve now asked me to make 20 more and have them ready by Friday) and various other projects to get through. I hope all of your Thanksgiving plans go well and that you are ready to fill yourselves up and have a great evening with family.

Linda S. over at Freshly Made Sketches provides our inspiration for today’s card…

I used Bermuda Bay Card Stock for the base of my card today. Then I used some Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss my greeting which is the Be Very Merry Stamp. Next up is two strips of Silver Glimmer Paper across the lower half of the card. The Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is used to emboss a piece of Silver Foil Sheet for my panel. The snowflake is stamped in Bermuda Bay and then using a Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I then used the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies to cut out the snowflake. To complete the card, I put a Frosted Finishes Embellishment in the middle of the snowflake. Lots of shine and glitter, but I really like the way the stamped and heat embossed snowflake came out, and who doesn’t like a little bling?! Freshly Made Sketches 113

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time again… FRIDAY is here!! This week at work seemed to be extra long but thankfully it will be over in a few short hours. My boss comes back from Israel on Monday, she did send us a video of her riding a camel the other day. That was quite entertaining! Tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan. Pray that the rain ends early so I can take a little walk and get some pictures! I also found out today that I’ll have to fend for myself on Thanksgiving as my parents will be heading down to my brother’s house. Looks like it will be a movie day for Justin!

Cindy Hall and the “Clean Team” over at Freshly Made Sketches gave us this sketch to work with this time…

I decided for a change, I would go with a solid color for the background and base of my card. The inspiration for the colors in my card comes from the I Am Me Designer Series Paper. Funny enough, I liked the way the colors worked together on the card, but ended up not using the DSP! The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock. My two offset pieces are Real Red and across that is a piece of Calypso Coral. The light bulb images are from the Crazy, Mixed-Up Love Stamp Set, which is apparently my “Stamp Set of the week” LOL! My Stamp-a-ma-jig helped me line them up and they are backed with a piece of Pool Party, which is mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the same set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. That’s it! Today’s card is simple but fun. Freshly Made Sketches 112

It was another very frigid day here, lots of wind too. It’s supposed to warm up by the weekend, let’s hope they are right! Work was insanely busy and things are piling up and I don’t like that at all. Hopefully I will be able to play some catch-up on Friday. I stayed in last night where it was warm and played with my crafty stuff. Got a few projects made and have a bunch more to finish this weekend. Ahh, soon the weekend, don’t you just love it?!?!

A very simple sketch but open to some fun interpretation. The base of my card is Strawberry Slush Card Stock. My tags are from the Stamp a Tag Kit and I threaded some Linen Thread throughout the holes for that authentic tag look! The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set. I masked off the greeting with tape and stamped each part separately on a tag. The chevrons are also from the Stamp a Tag Kit and are stamped in Coastal Cabana along with the greeting. My stars are from the Simply Stars Stamp Set and are also stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place and complete my simple card. Freshly Made Sketches 111

Guess what… do you know what day it is?! Yes folks, that’s right, it’s Friday!! We all know that I do loves me some Friday! Yesterday as they promised, it was rainy and cold. Today, just cold. Tonight is Chinese food and movie night with Heather and tomorrow, off to Manhattan with Andrew for some more marathon walking! I’ll have to see if I can take some pictures to post. But to hold you over, here’s one of Andrew’s famous sunset pictures…

Now on to today’s post. My inspiration for today’s card is this week’s Freshly Made Sketches…

I looked at the sketch and sat down at my desk and I saw the card before I made it. The whole card! I don’t think that has ever happened before. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The strip across the bottom is Gold Foil Sheet and I used the Chevron Border Punch to punch out some Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive. The main component, the frame, is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock cut out with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and I used the Christmas Messages Stamp Set to stamp my greeting on Vellum. I heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the back of the frame. The base is a piece of Whisper White backed with a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and some random sequins from a Target find to create the background for the greeting. To finish it off some Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive are punched out with the tree from the Merry Mini’s Punch Pack and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the pop of turquoise with the red and green and the gold foil gives it a little shine. And like I said yesterday, I really like this card! LOL! Hello there peeps! How is it going? Me, well… like I said yesterday work is insanely busy. We have a conference tomorrow and all of the last minute stuff needs to be done today. What that really means is that everything needs to be done today! I did have another nice quiet evening at home last night. I sat at my craft desk and puttered around. It was very productive too, I got three cards made. Love it when that happens!

Today have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch is provided by the talented Rita…

I really like the fact that it has symmetry but is off just a little. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The three bees are from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set ~~Secret Garden Stamp Set~~ and are stamped in Jet Black Staz-On and cut out with the coordinating Backyard Basics Framelits Dies ~~Secret Garden Framelits Dies~~. I punched a piece of So Saffron out with the Hexagon Punch and the bees and hexagon are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is cut out with the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I threaded some Linen Thread through one of the Subtles Designer Buttons and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot to complete the card. I love the softness of the So Saffron with the Very Vanilla and the bees are just neat! I appreciate you stopping by to see my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Rita.
