Freshly Made Sketches #89

Well hello Thursday, so nice to see you again. What are you guys up to? I got my new Catalog order last night and went over to my friend Sandy’s and we mounted stamps, chatted and laughed. It definitely made the stamp mounting go faster and I do love a little Sandy time! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday and the first half of today is supposed to be nice but the rain is to come later on and stay through Saturday. Looks like another crafty first half of the weekend!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #89, a sketch from Rita…

Freshly Made Sketches #89

A fun little square layout indeed! I needed to play with some new goodies so I used a few on this card. The base my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. For the background I used some Whisper White and stamped it with the new Off the Grid Stamp in Gumball Green. The main image and greeting are from the Perfect Blend Stamp Set. I love coffee so I was quite happy to see this really great set in the new catalog! The cup is stamped in Early Espresso and the sleeve in Gumball Green on Crumb Cake. I cut both out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to a base of Gumball Green that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is backed with some Early Espresso and the flags are cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies and the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform which works great! Some Early Espresso Bakers Twine wrapped around the left side and tied in a bow finishes off the card. I really do love the new goodies that I used on the card, they may just be my favorites from the new catalog. The Gumball Green and Early Espresso just makes me want a Starbucks! Freshly Made Sketches #88

Hey, hey! Welcome to Thursday! Yesterday was a nice day here, a little muggy but warm and sunny. One of my co-workers told me that it was always nice to see me because I’m always smiling and genuinely nice. I thought that was a very cool impression to give to people and it was very nice to be told something so sweet. Sometimes a nice comment can make your day even brighter!

Sweet and simple! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used a piece of Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper across the lower half. The middle panel is made up of a piece of Very Vanilla that I punched the left edge of with the “Vintage” Spiral Border Punch. A sticker from the Epic Day This & That Sticker Sheets is in the middle and I also used one that I backed with some Very Vanilla on the top. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set* and is stamped in Calypso Coral and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I made a larger ticket to back it using the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I like the simple layout and I love the Epic Day goodies. Freshly Made Sketches #87 & Sneak Peek

Well, fancy seeing you here! LOL! So nice to have you stop by! How are you today? I’m doing well, getting ready for my three day weekend and with any luck we’ll get out of work a little early on Friday. The weather here yesterday was overcast and muggy and we are supposed to get some rain today and tomorrow. I’m planning on heading into Manhattan tonight with my friend Heather to go and have dinner with my friend Kim. I’m hoping the rain isn’t as bad as they say it’s going to be. Fingers crossed!

Super clean and simple, liking this one a lot! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped the Hello, Doily Stamp in Gumball Green off the right edge. The strip of paper is from the Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper Pack*. The stamps are all from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set*. The two stamps are punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and the friend is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. I like the way the Hello, Doily Stamp goes with the DSP and the colors are great! Freshly Made Sketches #86 & Sneak Peek

Thursday… so close to Friday I can taste it! This has been another really long week, lots going on. Have I told you that if I could give up sleep I gladly would?!?! I could get so much more done! LOL! It’s supposed to be really nice here today with temps going up into the 80’s. Later on I’m going to Star Trek – Into the Darkness in IMAX 3D. I loved the last one and the IMAX part makes any movie better. I’ll give you my review tomorrow!

Super clean, super simple, that’s what I was going for with my card. The base is Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the greeting from Loving Thoughts in Costal Cabana* right on the base. The paper is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack*. To make the scallop along the bottom I used the the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. The stamps are form the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set* and are stamped in Strawberry Slush* and Costal Cabana*. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals pop them and the line across the middle up. I like the happy colors from the new 2013-2015 In-Colors and the stamp set is so versatile. Thanks for visiting me today to take a look at my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Freshly Made Sketches #85 & Sneak Peek

Ahh… Thursday! For me it’s Friday! I’m off from work tomorrow! Woo hoo! It rained here yesterday for a good part of the day, and when I say rained I mean poured buckets! The sun did peek out from time to time just let us know that it was still there. Temperature wise it was pretty nice just a little on the muggy side. Are you all ready for Mother’s Day? I made 4 cards last night so I’m good!

You see it… there are some flags on there! The base of my card is Strawberry Slush* Card Stock. I used a piece of the Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper* across the top and embossed the rest with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The image in the middle is from the A Round Array Stamp Set that you can get now either alone or in a bundle with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Behind it is some more Strawberry Slush* punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Behind that is an image from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set” cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. A 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle completes the middle and under are the flags in Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. I love the nice mix of colors in the DSP and layering the stamp from the A Round Array Set makes it seem bigger than it is. For the large flagged piece, some more Crisp Cantaloupe* embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The thanks is from the ABC & 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set* and I stamped it a little imperfect go a little better with the Lovely Labels Stamp* that is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*. Freshly Made Sketches #83

Good day! How are you doing? I’m ok, that was a long day yesterday. I got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep and I’m pooped! The weather was nice for about two hours and then we were back to it feeling like February! I got my Sneak Peek 2014 Catalog order in and my goodies will be here Friday! Woo hoo! That means I can play over the weekend. I can’t wait! There is so much in the new catalog that I love, I will miss the retiring supplies and stamp sets but it happens every year and I’m used to it by now.

I’m really liking the Epic Day This and That products. They have some great colors and patterns. The base of my card is Crumb Cake with a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper for the background. Across the middle is a piece of Whisper White with some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. Some Basic Gray is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped off the words on a diagonal from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I used my Bone Folder and the Stampin’ Pierce Mat to curve the wings. Freshly Made Sketches #82

Hello there! Thank you so much for taking some time to visit with me today. I always appreciate you stopping by! Let’s see, work was not fun yesterday but the weather was gorgeous! It was definitely a top down kind of day and I did just that right after work. It is supposed to get cooler and rain again late today but I do enjoy the little tastes of warmer days. I have my workshop tonight and everything is cut and ready to go. I really am looking forward to it, I do love to share the therapy that I call Stampin’ Up!

My card starts with a base of Gumball Green and I used a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper for the background. The stamped image is from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and so are the tickets that are attached with a mini staple. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and pierced with the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack. Some adhesive cork adds some fun texture and grounds the card. I think the Gumball Green looks quite nice with the Island Indigo and the Fan Fair DSP. Freshly Made Sketches #81

Hello! It was a nice day yesterday for the most part, not as warm as Tuesday but nice. We had a short thunderstorm later and Winston doesn’t like that all all. He shook for about 15 minutes after it was over. Poor Winston. We are supposed to get some more rain today and a lot more tomorrow and it’s going back down to the 50’s. I did enjoy the taste of warm weather. I had to sit in a 3 hour class yesterday and it was pure torture! I sort of zoned out for most of it. So, Stampin’ Up! has lots going on at the moment and soon it will be time for the new catalog! Have you seen the new Wood Mount stamp cases? Check out the YouTube video here! Busy busy!!

My card starts off with a base of Soft Suede and the background is Fine Feathers at the top and Brushed Gold Card Stock with some “Vintage” Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon. The bird and cage are from the Nature Walk Stamp Set, the cage is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the bird is shaded with some eye shadow applicators! For the greeting, Teeny Tiny Wishes is punched out with the Word Window Punch and shortened. I also flipped the sketch upside down! Freshly Made Sketches #80

Woo hoo! The weekend is here! I did get out of work at 12:00pm despite their best efforts to thwart my escape! I came home and got my tax stuff together and did some techie stuff and then some crafty stuff. I had a very nice afternoon. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to go to the car show with Anthony, Lisa and Bill. Danielle might be there too. It should be a good time, it’s always fun to look at cars that I can’t afford! LOL!

Freshly Made Sketches #80

Yes, I have used my fave Sent with Love once again. I want to get some more use out of it before it goes away. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Sent with Love Stamp Set and my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the border in Real Red on Pool Party. Some Island Indigo ribbon from Sale-A-Bration is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip and a piece is knotted on the left side. I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch out a hole in the lower right and adhered the panel to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flagged piece and the greeting are cut out from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper. I punched the greeting out  and the hole in the flagged piece with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. A super clean and simple card for a CAS sketch. It was nice to use the DSP for the focal points too for a change. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you for your visit, it is greatly appreciated!
