Freshly Made Sketches #59

A very good Friday morning to you! I am always a happy boy on Friday. We still have no power and it’s getting a little colder each night. Hopefully later on today when I get home all will be back to normal. Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Cindy…

Funnily enough at the beginning of the week I was thinking that I wanted to do something with the Postage Due Stamp Set, I even had the images stamped and Cindy must have read my mind! The base of my card is Old Olive, a color that I haven’t used in a while. I used a piece of Bravo Burgundy for my background panel and adhered a piece of Retired Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon with a Round Designer Ribbon Slide to it before mounting it to the card with SNAIL. The Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is used on a piece of Old Olive to go across the middle of the card. The 2 cent images are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are stamped in Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive and the 25 cent stamp image is from the Merry and Type Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive. They are all punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them to the card. I really like the sketch and the one stamp makes this a great quick Christmas card. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and thank you very much for stopping by. Have an awesome Friday!

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. I want to thank Linda for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s card. You can see the original post here and view the Freshly Made Sketches winners here. This week we have a first time sketch from Narelle…

Wow! What a great sketch! You did really well Narelle! This was one of those ones where as soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to use, I love when that happens! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I inked up my Woodgrain Background stamp with some Sahara Sand and stamped it on Sahara Sand Card Stock. I really like the tone on tone look especially with the Woodgrain Stamp. The panel of patterned paper is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. I backed it with some Cherry Cobbler and mounted it to the card with SNAIL. The greeting and the image are both from the Winter Memories Stamp Set. The are both stamped on Very Vanilla, the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and the image in Basic Black. I flagged the ends of the greeting and used a small piece of paper from the Festival of Prints DSP Stack above it. The image is colored in with Basic Gray, Basic Black, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Sahara Sand that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and embossed with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is mounted to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I cut out with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. For the final touch I added some Basic Jewels Pearls in the upper right hand corner. I think this is one of my recent favorites for sure! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Have an amazing day and don’t forget to scroll down and take a look at the Single Stamps that are available, including three brand new images! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #57

Hello everyone and welcome to Friday! I love it when the week is over and we are going into the weekend! I had a downline meeting last night which is always fun. I love to to see everyone and to swap. I have a busy weekend ahead, tomorrow Great Adventure for fright fest and then into Manhattan on Sunday for a bit. A full but fun weekend for sure!

Before we get to today’s post I want to take a minute to thank Narelle for choosing my card for last week’s Freshly Made Sketches. You can see my original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. This week LeAnne has given us this super CAS sketch…

I think this is the most CAS card I have ever made. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The bottom half of the background is Crumb Cake that I embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The top half is just a piece of Raspberry Ripple. I used a piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the seam that I adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip before adhering the panel to the card with SNAIL. The images are from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and the Merry & Type Stamp Set. The base image is stamped in Crumb Cake and the “Merry and Bright” is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super CAS and also a great workshop card that could be easily stepped up! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Thank you, as always, for visiting and your comments. I appreciate it! Have a fun day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #56

A very good Friday morning to you! It’s my favorite day of the week! I have some projects to get to this weekend, a one year old birthday party and a little outing with my friend Sandy! I love the weekend, especially when it’s going to be a productive one! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Rita is our host for the sketch and she has given us this…

Avery nice simple panel that I thought would be perfect for a non-tradiotional Holiday card. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I added a panel of Summer Starfruit to the base. The strip of paper across the bottom is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and I backed it with a piece of Early Espresso to make it a little more rigid. The ribbon is Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and I used a Round Designer Ribbon Slide instead of a bow. Some Sticky Strip adheres it around the back of the DSP strip and  some more Sticky Strip on each side holds it a little above the card. The image is from the Christmas Lodge Stamp Set and is stamped in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the More Merry Messages in Cherry Cobbler and backed it with a piece of Early Espresso. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. I really like the combination of the Summer Starfruit, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso. The houndstooth DSP and the colors give it a little bit of a vintage feel without any distressing. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Thank you, as always, for visiting with me today and have a great Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #54

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday and that means only one more day until the weekend! We can do it, I know we can! LOL! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week Jennifer T. has provided us with this sketch…

I have been wanting to use the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set that I just recently got and I thought this would be the perfect sketch! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I took a piece of Sahara Sand and punched out two pieces of card stock with the Ornament Punch. I adhered them to the Sahara Sand with temporary adhesive and used the Stampin’ Spritzer filled with a mixture of Early Espresso Re-Inker, water and alcohol to mist over it. After it dried I removed the ornaments and had the neat masked effect that you see on the card. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edges. A piece of Very Vanilla is randomly stamped with the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Gumball Green. I adhered it to the spritzed piece with Snail and used some Sticky Strip to attach a piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back. The piece is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the ornament and the merry christmas from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set in Primrose Petals and punched them out with the Ornament Punch and the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Basic Jewels Pearls, whenever I use pearls I always think of Ann Schach! I really like the masking technique and the color combination. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so very much for stopping by and have a fun day!

Freshly Made Sketches #53

A good Friday morning to you all! It’s a very good one for me because I am off from work! My cousins and I are headed into Manhattan today so they can do some more shopping. I’m undecided as to whether I want to take the train in or drive. Maybe we’ll go and have some more Korean food for lunch!

Today’s post is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches but first I want to thank all of you for visiting the Control Freaks September Blog Tour yesterday and also for you wonderful comments. I’m so glad that you liked the projects! Moving right along this week Tui has given us this sketch to work with…

I knew what I wanted to use as soon as I saw this! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I used some Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper strips and some Champagne Glimmer Paper strips for the background. On top of that is a piece of Very Vanilla that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I Then embossed it with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The images and the greeting are from the No Peeking Stamp Set. The greeting is markered in Real Red, Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I used the same colors for the cute little snowman and cut him out with my Paper Snips. The little bird is stamped in Real Red and cut out too. They are all mounted to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the sketch and the stamp set is just too sweet! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so much for visiting and have a fantastic day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 1 Year Anniversary!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Thursday! I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday I certainly did. I got loads of birthday wishes here on my blog and on Facebook, some really nice cards and I ate way too much cake! And it’s not over yet, it continues on Saturday with a celebration in Manhattan with my friend Kim and my cousin Tracy. 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. They’re celebrating their one year anniversary. Congratulations to all the ladies over at Freshly Made Sketches on your first year. To celebrate they are allowing you go back through all this previous sketches and pick your favorite one. I chose number seven because I thought it was different and kind of neat…

The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I use the piece of designer series paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Pack and I cut two pieces of Early Espresso with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies for each side and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. The greeting is from the Keep Calm Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I stamped the image again in Cherry Cobbler and cut out the “and” and flagged the ends. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the greeting that is then mounted to a piece of Cherry Cobbler. The stamps are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, a favorite of mine, and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Early Espresso. I then punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch. They are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought the greeting and the stamps together was neat and I love the color combination. Freshly Made Sketches #51

Good morning everyone! How are we all faring this week? I’m doing pretty well, although I do feel like I live in a swamp for the past two days. It has been so humid here on Long Island and we have had torrential rain for a good part of the day for the past two days. Hopefully the humidity will break today! Fingers crossed!

Today’s post os for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank Alissa for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week. Cindy has provided us with this neat sketch…

When I saw it I knew I wanted to do a holiday card. I also wanted to mix up the colors a little too. I started with a base of Night of Navy Card Stock. I took a piece of Soft Suede and trimmed right edge with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. To the top of that I adhered a piece of paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The main stamped images are form the Affection Collection Stamp Set. The large image is stamped in Night of Navy and cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies along with a piece of Cherry Cobbler one size up. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge of both. The flagged stamp is stamped in Soft Suede. I stamped the large image again in Cherry Cobbler and used the Modern Label Punch to punch out the middle. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. All of the pieces are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch out the heart from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper. I really like the color combination and will definitely be using it again. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you for visiting and for your comments. Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches #50

Good morning peeps! We are in the home stretch sliding into Friday for our nice three day weekend! I have lots of stuff to do, my family is coming from England for my brother’s wedding. They start arriving on the 10th and I get to see my cousin Tracey! Can’t wait for her to get here! I also get to see my aunts uncle and another few cousins! It’s going to be a good time!

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. First I want to thank Linda S. for choosing my card as her pick for last week’s challenge! You can see the original post here and the FMS post here. For this week our host is Lesley and she has given us this neat sketch…

I love playing along with each of the challenges each week. It expands my creativity and it’s so nice to see all of the other creations too. My card starts with a base of Crumb Cake Card Stock. The strip across the bottom is a piece of Very Vanilla that I used the Travel Journal Stampin’ Around Wheel with Soft Suede ink on. The patterned paper on the left is from the Floral District Designer Series Paper Pack. For the main image I stamped one of the feathers from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set in Baja Breeze three times. On top of that I used the Beautiful Birthday Wood Mount Stamp in Soft Suede for the greeting. I mounted it on a piece of Baja Breeze and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The embellishment at the top is made from three feathers, again from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. I threaded some Linen Thread through a Naturals Designer Button and adhered the whole thing to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. I think this card would be great for a masculine birthday and with a quick sentiment change it could be so much more. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card and thank you, as always, for spening some time with me today. Have a fun day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #49

Happy Thursday to you all. Only one more day left and we are at the weekend! I have some serious crafting to do and a wedding to go to on Friday night. Busy busy! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Jen Mitchell has given us this very clean sketch…

For all of you that are wonderful enough to stop by and read my blog every day I usually have a long list of products that I use. For today’ card the list is uncharacteristically short so the card must be very clean and simple! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. Square cards are extra postage but you could put this one in a standard envelope. I used a piece of Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper for the strip across the bottom. The spiders are form the Ghoulish Ghouls Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Black. I used the 1″ Circle Punch to punch them out and they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black on Tangerine Tango Card Stock. I used my Paper Snips to flag the ends and fluffed them up a bit, it is also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a cute little extra I stamped the bat, also from Ghoulish Ghouls, in Basic Black and cut him out with my Paper Snips. I put two of the Googlies (eyes) on him and adhered him to the card with still more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the Halloween stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog and the Designer Series Paper is some of the best yet. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and thank you so much for visiting! Have an awesome day! 🙂
