Detailed Blooms Two Ways – Concord & 9th May Guest Designer

Yay for Friday! It was a pretty nice day here yesterday, sunny and warm enough for some shorts! I worked on a few things in the morning, took a quick ride to Target with Stephanie and then did some laundry. Another fun and exciting day! LOL! After dinner I watched Valentine’s Day, I know, a little late, but is it never too late for a little does of love! This morning I think I will go over to see Heather and get her to make me some breakfast, yup… that sounds like a good plan! 😀

Today I have my last set of cards to share with you as a Guest Designer for Concord & 9th. We are all featuring the Enjoy it All Stamps and Detailed Blooms Dies! Love them both and I have a few other examples of the sets HERE and HERE. You can see the sets below…

So without further ado lets get to today’s two cards! Up first is a nice simple one! I die cut the Detailed Blooms Die from some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and used my Copics to color it in. It’s adhered to a card base of more Solar White 110lb with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Enjoy it All Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice and the card is done! Super simple card but coloring in the die cut gives it some big impact!

My second card uses two of the Detailed Blooms Die Cuts and they are cut from Opal Curious Metallic Card Stock. I adhered them with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next up I used the Globe Greetings Dies to cut out a circle of Solar White 110lb. I stamped the greeting and the flowers from the Globe Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Jet Black. The circle is then adhered to the card with 3m Foam Tape and I added some Sequins and Pearls to give it a little sparkle! I think this one would make a fun Wedding card, don’t you?!

I hope that you can see how versatile all of these products are from my cards today! I had a really great time Guest Designing for Concord & 9th this month and I hope that they will have me back again! Make sure that you stop by the BLOG and check out the other Guest Designer’s projects! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Dotty Thank You Two Ways – Concord & 9th May Guest Designer

Hello again! I’m back with my Guest Designer post for Concord & 9th with more inspiration for the May release! This week we are showcasing the Dotty Turnabout Stamp and the All About You Dies! Each week Jeanette, Vera and myself will be using the same products so you can see how versatile they are! 😀

I love when I can make a card and then use the “leftover” pieces to make a second one don’t you?! To start my cards I used my MISTI and the Dotty Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp with some Minty Fresh, Storm Cloud and Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. For the first card I cut a piece of the stamped paper to 4 x 5 1/4 and used the All About You Dies to cut out the negative you from the paper. I also cut the you out from a piece of Black 110lb along with the the thank. To create the card I adhered a piece of Black 110lb to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is adhered to the card and the you and black outline are adhered back into the negative cut out. All that was left to do was to adhered the thank to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive! Love the bold background and the way the block outline on the you separates it just enough to make it pop!

Since I had the opposite pieces left over from the first card I decided that I would make a second! I adhered the you and the outline to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive along with the thank. Next I used the additional stamps in the Dotty Turnabout Photopolymer Stamps to stamp the lined circles in Minty Fresh and Storm Cloud randomly around the greetings. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Pewter Sequins Finish the card! Waste not want not and I think I actually like this card even more than the first one!

I LOVE that Dotty Turnabout Stamp and the All About You Dies! So much fun to use! Again, how cool is it that you can make your own background paper in any color that you want?! I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer projects for the Concord & 9th Blog! Click here to go to the Concord & 9th post and see what the other Guest Designers have done! Thanks for coming by again today! Enjoy the rest of your Friday! 🙂

Welcome to the World Baby – Concord & 9th May Guest Designer

We had another fabulous day! Definitely a taste of Summer with temps in the 90’s! I will admit I was no where near as productive as I should have been, I spent a lot of time outside! It was too nice to be indoors! It’s going to be nice again today, but only in the 80’s. Not complaining! LOL! I also enjoyed my evening, Jim came by and we got Pizza Hut for dinner and then watched Blindspot. It was the season finale, now we have to wait the whole Summer before it starts up again! This morning I’m going to take Heather to drop her car off so it can be detailed and maybe get a little breakfast! 🙂

It’s time for my second Concord & 9th Guest Designer Post! Each week Jeanette, Vera and myself will be using the same products so you can see how versatile they are! This week we are showing you the new Globe Greetings Stamps and Dies!

I thought it would be fun to make a different kind of baby card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the solid banner stamp from the Best Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers repeatedly onto the card base using my MISTI. Next I stamped the holder for the globe from the Globe Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set In Hippo. A piece of Sugarplum Card stock is cut out with the Best Banners Dies, I used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere it over one of the stamped banners. My globe is stamped onto a piece of Solar White 80lb in Fresh Lavender and I cut it out with the Globe Greetings Dies. The greeting is stamped in Sugarplum and the globe is adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. I added a few Little Things by Lucy Lucky Dip VI and Purple Velvet Sequins for a bit of sparkle! I think the card makes a fun different welcome baby card, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer card for this Concord & 9th Blog! Be sure and read their post and see what the other Guests have done to inspire you! Thank you so much for visiting with me! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Can You Case It? 34

That was a good Friday! I managed to escape the office for 3 hours! I had to go to one of our other locations and set up an iPad and mount for someone in a wheelchair with Cerebral Palsy. She was quite happy with her new gadget. After that I stopped by the Apple store to exchange a keyboard that stopped working. They are so nice there, never any issues just a smile and a thank you. To top it off they released us at 3:30! I came home and took a nap! LOL! I only got about 4 hours of sleep the night before so I needed it! Taylor came by with her new car and we went to Target to get her some floor mats. I found a new Glade Plug-in that smells amazing, it’s called Woodside Library. Here is their description, “Quiet and comfortable, a window seat at the town library provides a perfect nesting place on a crisp fall day. Cozy up, settle in and enjoy the scent of rich oak and vintage leather-bound volumes”. It has a classically clean scent and it’s not floral which is a nice change! I’m going to spend some time crafting today and then who knows. What are your plans for the weekend?

A while back my friend Eva had asked me if I would be a guest designer on her challenge blog called Can You CaseIt? I said that I would love to and so that’s what today’s card is for. Here is this week’s sketch…

CYCI 34

Nice and simple don’t you think? I started my card with a base of Pool Party Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack and I backed it with a piece of Blackberry Bliss. A strip of Pool Party is embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and goes down the right side. For my greeting I stamped a stamp from the Hi There Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White and backed it with another piece of Blackberry Bliss. The feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and are stamped in Blackberry Bliss and cut out with the Feathers Framelits. A Subtles Designer Button is adhered with a Glue Dot on top of the bottom of the feathers. I used the sequins die that I got the other day to cut out some Blackberry Bliss and put some Crystal Effects on the and adhered them to the left of the greeting. I really love the colors together, cheery without being too bright and you all know how much I love the feathers! So there you have my Guest Designer card for the Can You Case It? sketch challenge for this week. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the design team has done and show them some love by uploading one of your cards to the gallery! I hope that you enjoyed the card and I thank you for checking in! Have a super Saturday my friends! 🙂

SplitCoast Creative Crew

So after all of that rain that we had yesterday, and I think they said that we got around 6 inches, the sun came out around noon and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon! We got up to 68 degrees, made the rain yesterday sort of worth it. It was so nice to go outside and feel the warm sun and not have to wear a jacket! And today is Friday! What could be better than that! I don’t have anything specific planned for the weekend with the exception of some projects to make. It should be a great weekend too because I get my Catalog pre-order today, yes I overnighted it! The addiction continues! LOL!

My post for today is a big one. I have been asked to join the SplitCoast Creative Crew again! I had so much fun making the projects when I was on last year I was happy to join the talented group of 24 people this time around! I have four projects for you today, three cards and a mini album. Lets get to them!

My first card is for the DSP/Color Focus: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate. We are asked to use a technique of our choosing that imitates our watercolor wonder designer papers. I love the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper so here is my take. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used a piece of Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight to create the mat for my piece of Watercolor Card Stock. Using the Flower Shop Stamp Set I inked the stamp in Island Indigo, Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight. I spritzed them each time with water from my Stampin’ Spritzer and stamped each one three times to create the background. I stamped them again in the same colors on some Whisper White and punched them out with the Pansy Punch. My leaves are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Gray and cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits. The leaves are adhered to the background with Multi-Purpose Glue and the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Quite the Pair Stamp Set and is stamped in Smoky Slate and cut out with my Paper Snips. I really do love the effect that spritzing water on the stamp gives the image and the colors are nice and bright!

CCREW0514DF-JK-WM

My next card is for the Catalog Focus: scoring tools. We are asked to use all or one of these scoring tools-Simply Scored Tool, Simply Scored Borders Plate and/or Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to add interest to a gatefold card. My card base is Daffodil Delight Card Stock cut so it’s a gatefold card. The two Whisper White panels on the front are created using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. It gives it a lattice like look. The flowers and butterfly are from the Polka-Dot Pieces Stamp Set and are stamped in Melon Mambo, Island Indigo and Night of Navy. I used the 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punches and the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch them out. I created a belly band from a piece of Pear Pizzaz and adhered all of my stamped images to it with SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy and punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I love the lattice look behind the flowers and the colors are inspired by the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. A fun simple card, don’t you think?!

CCREW0514CF-JK-WM

My third card is for the Holiday Focus: National Photograph Month. We are asked to create a card that looks like a photograph by putting a border around our image and making the image glossy. You may use On Film Framelits or make your own, you may use Window Sheets for glossiness or Crystal Effects. My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Soft Suede that I stamped in Soft Suede with the Hardwood Background Stamp. My greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The stamped images are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, the flowers are stamped in Elegant Eggplant and the leaves in Garden Green. I masked them off to give it a more realistic look. A piece of Whisper White is cut out with the On Film Framelits. I adhered it and a piece of Window Sheet to the Soft Sky stamped piece and the to the card. Very clever the way the Window Sheet does really make it look like a glossy photo, I’ll definitely do that again!

CCREW0514HF-JK-WM

The final project is for the Scrapbook and More Focus: Mini Books. I used the new Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Cards, Stamps and Framelits to create my mini book. The cover and back are Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzaz that I cut out with the Project Life Cars & Labels Framelits Dies. On the cover I cut the speech bubble out with the Word Bubbles Framelits and stamped the stars from the Project Life Point & Click Photopolymer Stamp Set in Basic Black. The NYC is from the Sans & Stripes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Black. All of the pages in the middle are the cards from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Cards Collection and I rounded the corners using the Project Life Corner Rounder. I used the Washi tape from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Accessory Pack to “hold” the photos in place and some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to hold the cards together. I love the way you can see the photo on the first page through the Word Bubble! A fun simple mini book using the new Project Life by Stampin’ Up! line. Pretty neat huh?!

Paper Players #151 :-)

Hello everyone! How is your weekend going so far. I ended up not going into Manhattan yesterday morning so my friend came out on the train. I picked her up at the station and we stopped at Target on the way home. We had some lunch and then chatted for a bit before heading out to the mall. Kim needed some new work clothes so we got those and then we met my friend Anthony for dinner. It was a very nice day and we have the Christening this morning and that should be a good time. Later on I’ll drive Kim home. Fun!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time around we have a sketch from Nance…

Paper Players #151 Sketch 6-23-2013

I will admit that I had a little trouble with this one at first. It’s very different but it turned out to be a lot of fun in the end! The base of the card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. The background is stamped with the Window Shop Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel in Night of Navy. I thought it was a little strong so I adhered a piece of Vellum over the to soften it a bit. All of the stamped images are from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set and are stamped in Cajun Craze. The lower one is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and pierced around the edge with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The larger one on the left is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and the lower one with the 1 1/4″Circle Punch. Two Regals Candy dots are adhered to them and one to the greeting. A piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and a simple knot is tied on the right. I think the stamp set has some great images and so does that wheel! Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s sketch challenge from Nance. Stop by the blog and see the great projects that the rest of the design team has created and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery! Thanks again and have a fun Sunday! 🙂

Paper Players #150 :-)

Hello kiddies! How was your Saturday? Mine was great! I ran some errands and had lunch with a few friends. I had the top down in the car all day, it was gorgeous. I went to see my friend Sandy which always a good time. And, I even got some crafting done too! It was definitely a very nice day indeed. I hope your day was just as good. Thank you all for your comments yesterday, I really do appreciate them and I always reply to each one. Oh, and Happy Fathers Day!!!!

Today, being Sunday, means it Paper Players time! This week we have a Clean and Simple sketch using Bling from Anne Marie…

Paper Players #150 Bling 6-16-2013

Now who doesn’t like a little bling?! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Whisper White with the Positively Chevron Background Stamp in Bermuda Bay and adhered it to the card on a tilt. For the frame I used the Squares Collection Framelits Dies to cut the window out and some Subtles Designer Series Paper to fill it in. The image is from the Cycle Celebrations Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and again in Bermuda Bay. I cut the banner out of the Bermuda Bay piece and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Baked Brown Sugar Piece. The greeting is from the Four You Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones on the soda bottle add my bling. I loved the image of the soda bottle so much that it’s what sold me on the set! Thank you for coming by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Clean and Simple “Bring on the Bling” challenge from Anne Marie. Paper Players #149 :-)

Sunday already! That Saturday just flew by. I did get a lot accomplished and I even got to watch my movie! Taylor and I watched The Source Code and it was really good! Lot’s of cool effects and things to think about. It was a nice day here yesterday, a little cloudy at times but we did get some sun. I think they said it’s supposed to get up to 81 degrees today and be a little on the humid side so I will get to finish the rest of my projects today.

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for another Paper Players Challenge. This week we have some fun colors from Ann…

Paper Players #149 Colors 6-09-2013

Some of my favorites are included in there! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla with the Beautifully Baroque Stamp in Pool Party. The panel across the top is also stamped in Pool Party using the Amazing Accent Wheel with some Calypso Coral 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon across the middle. For the images in the center I used the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and Chalk Talk Framelits and adhered them with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final addition is a Very Vintage Designer Button with some Calypso Coral Bakers Twine tied in a bow. I really love the Beautifully Baroque stamp and how well it goes with the Amazing Accent Wheel. Thanks for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer Card for this week’s color challenge from Ann. Paper Players #148 :-)

So how was your Saturday? It was a very nice day here yesterday, warm and sunny. I went to see Pitbull and Ke$ha last night at Jones Beach Theater. It is one of my favorite places to see a concert. It’s an outdoor amphitheater right on the water, in fact the stage is in the water! Pitbull was awesome, high energy and a great show. I was surprised that Ke$ha was pretty good too! They had a DJ in between and he was great too! All in all a very nice night!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time we have a theme challenge from the superb Jaydee…

Paper Players #148 Theme Summer 6-02-2013

Summer! I pondered about what stamps to use for a while and then I remembered a “Vintage” one that is the perfect image of summer. The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tangerine Tango and before I adhered it to the card I put a little piece of the Gingham Garden Washi Tape in the upper right. The image is the “Vintage” Sail Away Stamp and I stamped it in Pacific Point and backed it with some Daffodil Delight. The greeting is from the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set that will be “Vintage” as of Monday. I used another soon to be “Vintage” product, a Brights Collection Designer Button with a piece of Tangerine Tango in the middle. It sort of reminded me of the sun so it went with the greeting. I think the sail away image with the sketched sail boat and seagulls is perfect for summer, don’t you? Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Summer Theme challenge from Jaydee. Head on over to the Paper Players blog and check out the other awesome designers cards and enter on of yours in the gallery. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Paper Players #147 :-) & Sneak Peek

Good Sunday to you! How is your weekend going so far? Mine is pretty good despite the rainy and cold weather we had yesterday. I did spend most of the day crafting, I have a lot of projects to do and I would like to get a little bit ahead. I did make some progress so I’ll continue on today. What is going on on by you?

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time to play with the Paper Players! This week we have a sketch from the talented LeAnne…

Paper Players #147 Sketch 5-26-2013

A very different sketch from any that I have seen recently so this was fun! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. The paper rectangles are all from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack*. They have some great distressed and fun patterns in there. The greeting is form the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit and Early Espresso. I cut out the Birthday and popped it up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the other one that is punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. They are backed with a piece of Island Indigo that I cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Not an overly complicated card but the DSP really gives it some oomph! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Guest Designer card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from LeAnne. Be sure to visit the Paper Players blog and see what my fellow creative team mates have come up with and enter yours in the gallery to play along. I hope that you have some crafty time and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Stampin’ Up! has released their first Photopolymer Stamp Set! It’s called Designer Typeset! They work amazingly with our new Firm Foam Stampin’ Pads for great ink coverage. You are going to love them! This is a limited release so make sure you get one before it’s gone!
