Freshly Made Sketches 241

What day is today?! LOL! It was another late night at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store with the second night of the June Lawn Fawn Card Class! Night two was just as much fun! We all had a great time and my friend Maggie came all the way out from Manhattan to take the class! I picked her up at the train station and then dropped her off before heading home for the evening. I do so love to get see all of the talented card makers and newbies making the cards and letting me know which ones are their favorites! I think that it was a tie between the shaker and the slider this month! We also tried a new format for getting the cards done, I think it worked better than previous months but I’ll have to see what the feedback is from the classes. After all, it’s all about making it a great experience for the people that take the class! Today we have Jen Starr coming to teach a few classes for Scrap-A-Latte, I’m looking forward to seeing her! She’s a great teacher and a really funny person!

The card that I have for you today is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 241

I stamped and die cit my images at the store and then put the card together when I got home last night! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Soft Sky with the We R Memory Keepers Waves Next Level 3D Embossing Folder and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. Across the bottom is a piece of Pacific Point with the sentiment from the Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. That too is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The images are from the same stamp set, I stamped the seahorse in Soft Pool, Pool and Deep Ocean, the large shell in Soft Brown and Cup O Joe and the small one in Wet Cement and Butter Bar. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. It needed just a little sparkle so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sand, Aquamarine and Sparkling Clear Sequins. I love the Hero Arts Color Layering sets and the new 4 packs of ink that coordinate perfectly with them are great too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by today! I wish you all the best Saturday ever! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 196

Another fun day at Stamp, Ink, Paper! Renee got a new line of paper in that moved like hotcakes! My second half of my Lawn Fawn order arrived, I entered it in the system, priced it and put it out. I got in touch with the customers that wanted it and they came in throughout the day to pick it up. Renee and I bounce ideas off of each other all day and she called me after she left with a really good one!! Can’t wait to share it with you! When I got home I had dinner, mum made chili! One of my favorites! My friend Sue stopped by and we chatted for a while and I subjected her to my latest YouTube obsessions! After she left I sat down and made my card, it was going to be a quick card… ummm… not really! Does that happen to you? You set out to make a simple card and end up using half of the supplies that you have?! LOL!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS196 DT Sketch 5-25-2016

When I saw the sketch I remembered that I had a butterfly die that I had picked up a while ago on one of my trips with Sue and Michael to a craft show. About time I used it! The card base today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I splattered some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine on the front and worked on the rest of the card while that dried. A piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, again! LOL!) is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is a two piece die from Paper Artist. I cut the back out from a piece of 36lb Vellum and the top from a piece of Basic Gray. A tiny piece of Scor-Tape holds the two together and also adhered it to the Mirror Card. Another piece of Mirror Card is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Loopy Circles Craft Die and adhered to the butterfly with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners to cut it out and used a piece of Kool-Tac Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. Yes, I’m obsessed with that Mirror Card, but you have to admit it does look pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and tale a peek at the rest of the Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking a little time out of your day to visit with me! Have a happy Wednesday! 🙂

Happy mid-week peeps! It’s still freezing cold here and I’m not enjoying it one bit! If you have any hot weather that you can spare please send it my way! Brian stopped by yesterday to visit for a bit in the morning and then I made my way over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. We had a nice little chat and from there I came back home and spent some time with Daniel. Taylor and Kiera stopped by, it was Taylor’s Birthday yesterday, she is no longer a teenager! Boy do I feel old! LOL! Last night Danielle came back over and we finished getting all caught up. I miss her but the stories of work make me glad that I’m not there! Today I need to get crafty, lots of projects to get finished, but you know how I love my crafty time!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS189 DT Sketch 4-06-2016

I wanted something bright, bold and quirky! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I spattered the front with some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. The flagged piece is some Canson 140lb Watercolor Card Stock that I covered in Wilted Violet Distress Ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s spritzed with water and then I dabbed it with a paper towel leaving that fun Distress Background. A piece of Vellum is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die and adhered behind the flagged piece. I then adhered that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Across the top is a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper and under that is some Purple Smooth Glitter Washi Tape. My feathers and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Dream Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder on more Watercolor Card Stock. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them and then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. They are adhered to the flagged piece with E-Z Runner. I stamped the greeting in Onyx Black from the same set in the lower right corner of the base. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Gold, Ocean Spray and Peacock Feather Sequins are adhered around the feathers for some more sparkle! I think that I got a bright, bold and quirky card, how about you?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Paper Craft Crew 188

And how is your week going? We are at the halfway point and mine is going well. Yesterday I had a pretty busy day, just the way that I like them! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then had a little lunch with my parents. Around 1:30 I stopped at A. C. Moore, I had a $10 rewards certificate that I just had to get rid of! I bought another bead storage container for sequins and other embellies, it’s the one with the bigger compartments this time. From there I stopped and got some gas and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to visit Renee for a little while. We had a nice chat and she shared some of her home-made peach strudel with me. After that I headed over to Deer Park to pick up Bill. He had to drop off Anthony’s van to be fixed, there is a problem with the wheelchair ramp. I drove Bill back to Anthony’s and visited with them for a bit before heading over to Heather’s. We went and had dinner at Applebee’s and then stopped at Lowes so I could get some hardware to hang her new chandelier. After that was finished we watched a little TV and had a laughing fit that lasted about 20 minutes! They are the best aren’t they?! I got home around 12:30 and that was my day!

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS188 DT Sketch 3-30-3016

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of Copper Glitter Tape. The two panels are pieces of paper from the Heidi Swapp Dreamy 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn 4Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut them out. A piece of Blushing Bride that is cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders Lawn Cuts is adhered to the left side of the smaller panel and they are both adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My circle is cut from a piece of “Vintage” Summer Starfruit with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts. I heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Balck 110lb. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The fun flower is a Wooden Embellishment from Recollections. I coated the front in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with more of the Copper Powder, it’s adhered with Multi-Matte Medium along with a few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze and Onyx Sequins. I love the copper with fun muted brights on the paper and the sparkle of the glitter tape is a nice added touch! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 227

Howdy peeps! I hope that you are having a lovely weekend! I enjoyed my day in Manhattan yesterday as I always do! I do love waking up at Kim’s and then just taking the subway down to The Ink Pad. It’s always nice to spend the day with Anna, she even bought me some spinach pie for lunch and it was yummy! I took the 8:43 to Seaford and my parents came and picked me up. When I got home I unpacked my stuff and then sat down and made today’s card. I have some errands to run this morning and the fun task of laundry! What’s on for you today?

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 227

I played around with a new Hero Arts Layering Set! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape down the left side. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Pearl Strings Bold Print Background in Tide Pool Ink. The two goldfish are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Butter Bar and Butter Bar to Orange Soda Ombre Ink. The eyes are stamped in Onyx Black. I took the first later and stamped over the fish with Versa-Mark and heat embossed some Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder onto them. They are cut out with my Paper Snips as the coordinating dies are on backorder! My greeting is from the same set and is stamped on the background in Onyx Black. I adhered the background to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam and the goldfish with Foam Tape. I love the way the clear embossing adds so much detail to the goldfish! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I wish you all a stupendous Sunday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 434

I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday! Breakfast was delicious, Heather makes one superb omelette! We ran to Target and BJ’s, not the best idea on Super Bowl Sunday! LOL! Long lines but what can you do?! I came home around 2:00 and worked on my card for today. I had to go and retrieve Brian and Kim from the airport at 6:00 so I left my house around 5:20. They took a while to get through immigration but jetBlue has some really comfy seats where you wait for them to come out so I took a little nap! I was back home by 8:00, had some dinner and watched the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, pretty good! Today I’m off to see my friend Sue!

It’s Monday and that means time for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch

Mojo434

My card today starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette for the background and adhered it with SNAIL. The piece of paper is from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Paper Pad and I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut it out, running it through twice to get the narrower rectangle. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next I used the Petal Cut Peonies Dies from The Ton to cut out two pieces of Night of Navy. Some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive holds them to the card. My thanks is from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink on some more Ivory 110lb. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is from Recollections, I pushed it into my Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink Pad to color it then into Versa-Mark. I added Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool, dipping it and reheating it a few times before adhering it to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Some Studio Calico Wood Stars and Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow, Sand, Aquamarine and Pink Blush Sequins are adhered to the panel with Multi-Matte Medium and complete the card! I do love those flower dies form The Ton and the Wood Stars are still a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s inspiration that they have for you so you can enter a card in the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off with me! Peonies Be Thankful

It’s a beautiful day here today, the temperature is around 50! Hopefully that help get rid of the rest of the snow. I had fun morning at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday and Renee even brought me a bagel from that store out by her house, so good! When I got home I spoke to Andrea for a bit and then had lunch before taking a ride out to Miller Place to look at the car with my dad. It’s not an easy fix so it needs to go somewhere and hopefully it won’t cost too much. Heather stopped by and got me when I got back to my house and we ran to BJ’s and Walgreen’s. I had some dinner and then my headache was back so I took it easy and watched a few movies to finish out the day. Today I need to get some laundry done and get seriously crafty, it’s going to be hard to be inside with the nice weather so we’ll see how that goes!

My card for you today is a simple one using some new dies from The Ton. The card base is Ivory 110lb and it’s cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I flicked some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine on the front. While that was drying I used The Ton Petal Cut Peonies to cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. I also die cut the Be from some Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Be Sentiment Craft Die. They are all sprayed on the back with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and adhered to the card. The rest of the greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Sentiments Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink. I love the very intricate flower and the spatter helps to create a background that is isn’t too distracting. I hope that you enjoyed today’s simple card! Thank you for spending some of your Sunday with me and have a great day! 🙂

SIP Challenge 32 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

There is still snow everywhere around here! The LIRR Had major issues this morning and I’m thankful that I wasn’t one of the commuters that had to wait upwards of three hours for a train! I re-dug my car out with the help of dad and his snowblower, let’s hope that it stays like that! The rest of my day was spent looking for the title to my old car, which I never found but I did go onto the DMV site and ordered a new one. I choose express delivery and it should be here Wednesday morning! I’ll believe that when I see it! LOL! I also watched the second of the X-Files last night, just as good as the first one! After that there was a new show called Lucifer on and I liked that one too! Today I’m going venture out of the house and get in the car, the first time since Friday, so unlike me! I’ll let you know how that goes tomorrow!

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Love Tic-Tac-Toe from Sandy…

SIP Tic Tac Toe 32 800

I went down the middle but hit a few others along the way! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I spattered a piece of Black 110lb with some Heidi Swapp Gold and White Color Shine and then adhered it to the card base. My heart is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock that I cut out using the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Some Ranger Candied Apple Distress Ink is applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool and then I flicked some water onto the heart. After waiting about 20 seconds I used a dry paper towel to pick it up. The arrow is a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that I cut out with the Reverse Confetti Arrow Confetti Cuts Die, I snipped it in two and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The heart is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL along with a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins. I love the look that the water gives to the heart and the nice way that red pops against the black! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to show us some love and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! SNOW! I hate snow! It’s snowing here and is supposed to continue doing so for the rest of the day. I don’t plan on leaving the house today at all. I did have a very nice Friday! I went and met up with Heather and Brian and we headed to IKEA to get Heather’s new bed. We dropped it off at Heather’s house and picked up the table and chairs and Stephanie and headed into Manhattan. Kim’s new building is nice because you can at least stop outside to take things into her building, the old one was on Second Avenue with the Subway construction, no place to stop! We put the table together and set it up before stopping at Isabella’s to pick up some things and then we headed downtown to go to lunch. After having some parking meter trouble we finally got the car settled and walked over to A Salt & Battery. It’s an actual real English Fish & Chips Shop. They all had cod and chips and I had a banger and some chips. I also had one of my favorite English sodas, Tango! Lunch was delicious! On the way out of  the city we discovered that Adam was working on 56th and 6th so we stopped by to see him for a bit. He is working on a new series for HBO called Divorce starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Hayden Church. We got to sit in the sound room and listen and see them filming a scene. So much fun! Here is a picture of the lady doing the sound and our badge!

HBO Divorce Sound

HBO Divorce Crew

So much fun to get to do cool unexpected things! Once we got back to Heather’s I put the bed together and then some of her family stopped by and we had pizza for dinner. I came home and watched a little TV, I was a little tired after the long but fun day! I’m hoping the we don’t get as much snow as they are saying, fingers crossed!

Today I have a fun little shaker card for you! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp September Skies 6×6 Paper Pad along with a piece of Solar White 80lb. I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut out the window and the angled top. A piece of Acetate and some Foam Tape around the back helps to keep the confetti that I got from Target on clearance after Christmas in place. A pair of feathers are cut from some Solar White 80lb that I inked with Simon Says Stamp Catkin and Scuba Ink using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The dies are Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies. A random button has a piece of American Crafts Bright Green Basics Hemp Twine tied in a bow and then adhered with the feathers using some Glue Dots. My greeting is cut from Night of Navy and Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Craft Die. I adhered them together and then coated it with Versa-Mark and then Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder before heating it with the Heat Tool to give it the Licorice look. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. I love the greens and blues along with that nice shiny greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope that your weather is a lot better than mine! Have a snow-free Saturday! 🙂

Hello there! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! I had a crafty day yesterday. I got a bunch of projects finished for the week ahead and also overdosed on HGTV! I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit and had dinner with my parents, Chinese… Yum! Not much else went on and that’s not a bad thing! This morning I have to take a table and chairs over to Heather’s and then we are going to head into Manhattan to meet up with my friends Kim and Maggie for breakfast. After that a quick stop at The Ink Pad before heading back out the Island. Fingers crossed for no traffic! LOL!

As promised I have randomly selected a winner from the comments on Friday’s post! Congratulations Linda Bostedt! You will be receiving The Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow Dies! Clock on the contact me and send me your address and I’ll get them right out to you!

Today’s card is a simple thank you that took no time at all to put together! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Raspberry and Marigold Sequins from the top left to bottom right to give the card a little movement. I love the simplicity of the card and the bright pop of the butterfly against the floral pattern! I hope that you enjoyed today’s simple card! Thank you for your continued visits and I wish you all a very simple Sunday! 🙂
