Puffy Hearts – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th!

Hello my peeps! I completely spaced on my Fab Friday card last week! That never happens! Like I have said my Mojo has been playing hide and seek with me lately. I have a lot going on and just can’t seem to focus! Trying to get back into the groove!! I promise! The weekend was fun none the less! On Saturday Jim and I took Daniel and his nephews Bobby and Jack to see the Monster Truck show. The kids had a great time and we also enjoyed it! After the show we all came back to my house and had pizza. Yesterday I did get a few cards made and then went over to Heather’s for the Super Bowl with Steph. I thought that the halftime show lacked some wow factor but wasn’t bad. My Mum is in a rehab facility for her recovery and isn’t happy about it at all. Hopefully she will be home soon. This morning I’m off to watch Daniel and Tristan. Not a bad way to start off the week! 😀

It’s time for my February Solo Post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! I played around with some love themed goodies for my card! One from the January release and one from the December release!

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Dotted 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the puffy hearts onto a piece of Gray 110lb Card Stock and adhered it to my card base. The strip going down the left side was created using the Heart Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp with Ballet Slippers, Merman, Hippo and Doe Ink. I stamped the solid and love images from the Love You So Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ballet Slippers and Doe. The Coordinating Dies cut it out and some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres it to the card. Simple with some fun colors!

I hope that you like the card for my February Solo Post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! Don’t forget that you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook! We are getting ready to start our next challenge on February 9th, be sure to come back to see what the rest of my talented teammates have to inspire you! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 265

It started out gloomy in the morning yesterday and then was sunny in the afternoon. The evening however delivered the rain and wind as promised! We even had a little thunder and lighting. I had a semi-productive day, got some things accomplished in the morning and did a little cleaning. Taylor came by last night and we watched a few episodes of DC Legends of Tomorrow, so nice to spend time with the child! This morning it’s a little gloomy but should clear up. I have some errands to run and then a meeting later about a charity event on November 12th that I’m volunteering for. Good times! 😀

Mid-week and time for a new Paper Craft Crew challenge…

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Plaid Background Photopolymer Stamp with some Merman Ink and a piece of Mermaid Card Stock with my Mini MISTI to create the background. It’s adhered to the card in the lower right askew to match the sketch. The tree is cut from a piece of Peacock using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Dies. I heat embossed the greeting from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered the tree to the card with 3M Foam Tape. For a little pop of color I used the star die from the Trim the Tree Dies and attached that to the top of the tree with more 3M Foam Tape. A simple card using one of my favorite Holiday color combos! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG and we hope that you will share your card with us in the gallery! I appreciate you stopping by today! Have a wild Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 196

Another fun day at Stamp, Ink, Paper! Renee got a new line of paper in that moved like hotcakes! My second half of my Lawn Fawn order arrived, I entered it in the system, priced it and put it out. I got in touch with the customers that wanted it and they came in throughout the day to pick it up. Renee and I bounce ideas off of each other all day and she called me after she left with a really good one!! Can’t wait to share it with you! When I got home I had dinner, mum made chili! One of my favorites! My friend Sue stopped by and we chatted for a while and I subjected her to my latest YouTube obsessions! After she left I sat down and made my card, it was going to be a quick card… ummm… not really! Does that happen to you? You set out to make a simple card and end up using half of the supplies that you have?! LOL!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS196 DT Sketch 5-25-2016

When I saw the sketch I remembered that I had a butterfly die that I had picked up a while ago on one of my trips with Sue and Michael to a craft show. About time I used it! The card base today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I splattered some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine on the front and worked on the rest of the card while that dried. A piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, again! LOL!) is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is a two piece die from Paper Artist. I cut the back out from a piece of 36lb Vellum and the top from a piece of Basic Gray. A tiny piece of Scor-Tape holds the two together and also adhered it to the Mirror Card. Another piece of Mirror Card is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Loopy Circles Craft Die and adhered to the butterfly with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners to cut it out and used a piece of Kool-Tac Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. Yes, I’m obsessed with that Mirror Card, but you have to admit it does look pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and tale a peek at the rest of the Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking a little time out of your day to visit with me! Have a happy Wednesday! 🙂

Just Add Ink 226

Hello my friends. Today is the funeral and I’m in Pennsylvania. I am still remembering only the good times and fun that I had with my grandmother and thinking of the lovely comments from all of you. They all mean so much to me. I don’t have much else to say today so I’ll just get to my card.

I paid a visit to the Just Add Ink blog the other day. I haven’t done one of their challenges in a while so when I saw the sketch I knew just what I wanted to use…

JAI Sketch 226

Can you guess what it is? No peeking! LOL! My card is somewhat of a tall and skinny card, the base is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock that I cut to 3 3/4″ wide. On top of that is a piece of All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper*. I stamped the wreath from the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz and Lost Lagoon. The berries are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the the wreath is cut out with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits. A piece of Gold Sequin Trim is adhered to the wreath with Mini Glue Dots. The piece of Lost Lagoon that goes across the card is flagged on the right side and a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper goes across the bottom. The joy is from the Snowflake Card Thinlits* and is cut out from Gold Foil Sheet. All of the pieces are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the strip is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I just love that wreath and the berries in gold are pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Just Add Ink sketch challenge. I thank you and will be thinking of you today. I hope you have a good Saturday! 🙂

Just Add Ink 216

Happy Friday peeps! For a 4 day week it sure seemed like 5! It was a gorgeous day here yesterday, sunny and cool. Work was busy, lots of last minute stuff to get done. I came home after work and yes, crafted for a little while. I also had some time to relax and just watch some TV. I have no big plans for the weekend, that’s good. I would like to try to go into the city at some point but I’m not sure if that will happen. I have a big milestone coming up on the blog on Monday, more details to follow!

I haven’t played along with the Just Add Ink challenge in a while so I went over to the blog to see what this week’s challenge was. It’s just add watercolor, sounds good to me!

I decided on a simple collage style card and I got to use one of my favorite little birds again! The card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed using the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Texture Boutique. They have had some issues with the Texture Boutique, it doesn’t emboss as deeply as it should. They are going to be sending out new plates to use with it stating in June. I find that the subtle embossing is sometimes neat so that’s what I did here. I stamped the Off the Grid Stamp in Versa-Mark on Watercolor Paper and then heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My Aqua Painter and some Crisp Cantaloupe Ink provide the color. I then used my Paper Snips to cut out the stamped image and some Fast Fix Adhesive holds it to the card. Yes, I think I have lost it, fussy cutting the Off the Grid Stamp, but I really like the way it looks! Three hexagon cut out from Coastal Cabana with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little bird is from the Nature’s Hello Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold him in place too. A few sequins scattered around finish the card. I love the mix of colors and the simple eclectic feel of the card and hope that you do too! Many thanks for your visiting with me today to see my card for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. Have an amazing Friday my friends! 🙂

Just Add Ink 196 & Sneak Peeks

Happy Monday of a short week! How was your Sunday? Mine was spent trying to catch up! I also had to run into Manhattan last night to see a friend and there were way too many people in there! The sidewalks were packed full and the train was worse than during rush hour! I couldn’t even take any pictures. Manhattan this close to Holidays is not the best place to be if you are not a fan of crowds! LOL!

I wanted to mention that two of my cards were Favorites on Split-Coast! My card for the Control Freaks Blog Tour was a Gallery Favorite and my card for the WOW White on White Paper Players Challenge was a CAS Favorite! Thank you very much to the peeps at Split-Coast for choosing my cards! 🙂

I was looking around yesterday and I came across this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. This time they ask you to just add Christmas! I had made this card for a very good friend which is sort of a CASE of another card that I made a few weeks ago. I really love the colors so I wanted to post it and this was the perfect excuse! The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. My background is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die* and adhered it to the base with some 2-Way Glue. Next up is a snowflake that I cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies from a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. My flag on the right consists of a piece of Bermuda Bay that I adhered a piece of the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum* on top of. I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch* to make my tag and stamped my greeting from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. A piece of Natural 5/8″ Chevron Ribbon* tied with some Whisper White Bakers Twine goes through the top. Along the bottom left are three pieces of Bermuda Bay that I punched out with the Chevron Border Punch and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few random matte silver and silver sequins sprinkled across the card finish it off. I really love the colors and that Hexagon Hive Die is so much fun! Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me today! I really appreciate it! 🙂

Just Add Ink 194

I did quite some running around yesterday. I had to make a few stops and head over to my parent’s house for a few minutes. Luckily enough, my friend Danielle decided to come with me to the a cappella concert yesterday! We left around 4 o’clock and got there right around 7 since we had to stop along the way for some sustenance. Yesterday was a bad food day. I had McDonald’s for lunch which I haven’t had in years and I had to slum it and have Dunkin’ Donuts because the Starbucks stores in Connecticut all closed early! Since I was already at Dunkin’, I decided to pick up a glazed donut too… oops! Like I said, bad food day. The concert, however, was excellent and the trip was well worth it. As promised, I have some pictures for you. Below you’ll find a picture of the outside of the Repertory Theater in New Britain, CT (it’s actually a converted house) and a picture of me and my friend Andrew (not a good picture of me, but a picture nonetheless).

Today’s card is for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge and they have asked us to “Just Add Santa”…

JAI Theme 194

The base of my card is a piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of Always Artichoke and my background is the postcard stamp, stamped in Always Artichoke on a piece of Very Vanilla. I used the script from French Foliage for the quote writing on the left side. The Santa image is from the Best of Christmas Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On and colored in with Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Blush Blossom Stampin’ Write Markers. I created the frame with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag was created using the new Scallop Tag Topper Punch*, I modified it slightly by cutting 1/4″ off of each side so it would fit the greeting a little better. Speaking of the greeting, it comes from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. Before I adhered the tag to the card, I “edged” it with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to make it stand out a little more. And there you have my “Just Add Santa” card for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. Thank you for visiting today! I hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful!

Just Add Ink 192

Before I even get started with today’s post, I wanted to sincerely say thank you to all of my blog readers who reached out and invited me over for Thanksgiving. It looks like instead of having a movie day, I might be traveling across the country all in a day this year! It really brightened up my day and I definitely have all of you to be thankful for this year!

As far as Fridays go, yesterday was a really good one. I escaped from work at 1 o’clock, came home, had lunch and made a card. Andrew came by, we went out for a really great sushi dinner and then went to Sandy’s and made some framed art for Christmas. Not an easy project by any stretch of the imagination and I have to tell you, I was more than impressed with Andrew’s project. In fact, I have posted both of our projects below. Can you tell which one is mine and which one is Andrew’s? Let me know in the comments. Also remember, he’s only made one card before this!

Today I have my card for the lovely ladies over at Just Add Ink. This week they have given us a color challenge…

JAI Colors 192

I have to admit that when I first saw the colors, I immediately thought of the New York Mets. So to clear that thought of my head, I decided to go with flowers and butterflies. I used Tangerine Tango Card Stock for the base of my card and the background is a piece of Island Indigo that is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. All of the stamped images are from the Polka-Dot Pieces Stamp Set and are stamped in Tangerine Tango. The flowers are punched out with the 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punches, the butterflies are punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and all of the images are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting comes from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango and it is cut out with one of the elements from the Circle Card Thinlits Die. Not an overly complicated card, but it’s kind of neat what you can do with just one stamp set and a simple greeting. I got past the Mets colors and really enjoyed the way the card came out. Thanks a lot for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Just Add Ink color challenge! I’m off to Manhattan now and if the weather holds up I will have some fun pictures for you tomorrow! I hope you have a superb Saturday!

Just Add Ink 191

Well, yesterday turned out to be a nice day after all. It was warm enough to skip the jacket for a while. I did some clean up in the craft area in the morning. In the afternoon I went to the gym with my buddy Andrew and then we went for a walk just because it was so nice out. There was even a little fence climbing, I haven’t done that since I was a kid! LOL! All in all not a bad day. How were things by you?

My card for today is for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a sketch as our inspiration…

JAI Sketch 191

I like trying out different color combos to mix things up, I also went with a collage style card, one of my favorites. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered a piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back and then adhered it to the card front covering the whole thing. I liked the way my card looked yesterday with it so I will be doing more often! The partial circle is a piece of Gumball Green that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies. The stamp is from the Notable Notions Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green, I also used it for the buttons which are stamped in Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party and punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. My doily is Bushing Bride and I used the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit to cut it out. The ornament is from the Best of Christmas Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. For the small ornament I used the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set and stamped it in Pool Party and punched it out with the Mosaic Punch. The final piece to the collage are the tickets which are stamped in Pool Party and Gumball Green from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set. To finish off the card I used a Mini Glue Dot to adhere a Subtles Collection Designer Button on the ribbon. I really am liking the colors and they aren’t ones that I would usually put together. Thanks for stopping by today to see my card for this week’s Just Add Ink sketch challenge, I hope that you enjoyed it and have a wonderful Sunday! 🙂

Just Add Ink 190

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty nice day. It was kind of chilly in the morning but it did get a little warmer as the day went on. Andrew and I met my friend Kim and had some Korean food for lunch, then we started to walk downtown and came across a street fair. We ended up at Eataly and had some authentic Italian coffee treats. On the way down, we went past the Empire State Building and my favorite building in Manhattan, the Flat Iron Building.

Here are two pictures of the Empire State Building, one taken closely under it looking up and the other taken farther away.

Now on to today’s post, that is for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge which is to use masking.

The base of the card is Calypso Coral Card Stock. I took a piece of Window Sheet and used the Label Card Thinlits Die embellishments to create my masks. The large arrows are sponged in Calypso Coral, the small ones in Island Indigo. For the ampersand, I sponged it in Calypso Coral, then created the swirl around it, and sponged it again slightly above with Island Indigo to create the shadow effect. I cut the letters out of Island Indigo using the Typeset Alphabets Bigs Dies and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. While it’s not too complex, this card goes beyond the simple greeting. If you notice in the close-up picture of the ampersand, you can see that the swirl behind it is not perfectly circular. Sure, I could’ve used another mask to make it perfectly circular, but I chose not to. The card says “U & ME”, but the blotch goes to show that you and me are not always perfect, and that’s okay. I hope you enjoyed my simple, but sentimental card for today. And of course, I hope you liked the pictures from my trip yesterday! Thanks so much for coming by to see my card today, I appreciate your visit. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
