Paper Players 297

The week straightened itself out yesterday, I knew that it was Wednesday! Back on track! We enjoyed some more nice weather, top down there and back to the store. Renee and I both got orders in this morning and worked on getting them out. I got a smattering of Waffle Flower to try out, I have to say that I like it! Very different! I spoke to Michael and FaceTimed with Andrea. Renee and I had Subway for lunch and for some reason it didn’t agree with me. I have also forgotten to take my allergy pill for the past two days so I have a nice sinus headache. Maybe I’ll remember tomorrow?! I also got my Lawn Fawn cards done for this month’s class! Love getting ahead! When I got home I had a sandwich at my parent’s and then took some Excedrin and waited for the headache to subside. When it finally went away I made my card for today and had a lot of fun doing it! Today I’ll be making some samples while I’m at the store, oh so nice to be crafty at work!

My card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #297

I went across the middle and the diagonal from lower left to upper right snuck in there! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts White Dye Ink. Before adhering it to the card I added a piece of Black & White Stripe Washi Tape down the right side. Next up I cut out a frame with the the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a piece of 48lb Vellum. On to the Vellum circle I heat embossed the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The frame is then adhered to the Vellum and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Once that was done I decided that the card was a little too wide so I cut 1/2″ off of the left side. All of the rest of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. The coffee and beans are stamped in Cup-O-Joe, the mason jar mug is heat embossed in Hero Arts White and the arrows are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out except for the coffee beans, those are cut out with my Scissors. The coffee cup is adhered to the mason jar mug with Dot Runner Adhesive and then it and all of the rest of the elements are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts to cut the greeting out and that too is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins. Can you tell how much I’m enjoying those new Hero Sets?! And I love that White Dye Ink, so subtle! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Thanks so much for visiting me today! I wish you all a very awesome Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 50 – A Sketch!

So it was supposed to rain all day yesterday! I have to say that I love it when the weather-peeps are wrong! It actually turned out to be a nice day! I headed into Manhattan on the 11:11 train and walked down to The Ink Pad to see Anna. We had a nice visit and talked about store stuff. From there I went over to Barnes & Noble, I haven’t been in a bookstore in way too long! I need to start reading again too! I used to read all the time! I was on the hunt for a specific magazine and they had it! The current issue of Simply Cards from the UK has a free Altenew Stamp and Die set included! I picked up a copy for me and one for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I met up with Barbara by the magazines and I had a veggie pizza from the cafe which was pretty good! We chatted and then wandered around. She took me to Flying Tiger and I got some fun stuff there! We then went over to Madison Square Park and Barbara had Shake Shack. I got a Vanilla frozen custard, yum! Her are a few pictures from my little adventure…

Today I’ll be back at the store, lots of fun stuff planned! Stop by and see all of the cool stuff that I got in including a lot of the new stuff from Hero!

Now on to today’s post! I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog with the rest of my Design Team for this week’s sketch challenge…

SIP Sketch Challenge 50 800

I had this idea for a shaker card since I first saw the Lawn Fawn So Smooth set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. I stamped all of the images from the Lawn Fawn So Smooth Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them in with Copics. The berries and glass are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. For the blender I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle to cut that and another piece of the patterned paper along with a piece of Soft Sky and Thick Fun Foam. Using my Craft Knife I cut out the “glass” part of the blender and a piece from the Fun Foam. The greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the front panel and then adhered the Fun Foam. Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Clear Glass Seed Beads are added and then the back is adhered. The shaker is then adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the card is done! I really do love that So Smooth Set and the fruit, beads and sequins really do make it look like a real blender! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over and check out the rest of the Team’s cards on the BLOG and be sure to enter your project in the gallery! Thank you, as always, for taking some time to come by and see what I’ve been up to! Have a super Tuesday my friends! 🙂

Mojo Monday 450

Another sunny day here yesterday, a little on the humid side but that’s because our streak of luck has run out! It’s supposed to rain all day today. Oh well, it was great while it lasted! I spent the day crafting, actually getting a little ahead! I managed to make three cards! Yippie! I also had to go for a ride and enjoy the weather so I headed over to Barnes & Noble in search of a magazine but I alas they didn’t have it. I’ll have to see if I can stop by one in Manhattan today, that’s where I’m headed. I guess I’ll have to be sure and bring my umbrella, wonder where that is?! Oh Happy Memorial Day to all my peeps in the states, it’s going to be a washout here but hopefully you will have nice weather where you are and get to enjoy a BBQ with your friends and family!

Today, like every Monday, lucky boy that I am, I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

Mojo450

Love a Tall & Skinny!! My card base is Neenah Solar White 100lb Card stock. For my background I stamped a piece of Melon Mambo with the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints Background using Hero Arts Raspberry Jam Ink. Down the left side is a piece of Gold Mirror Card and my greeting, along with all of my images, is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Flower for You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting on a piece of 46lb Vellum and wrapped it around the panel before adhering it to the card with E-Z Runner. The flag is a piece of Solar White 80lb with the outline of the flower image stamped in Ultra Pink and that’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The main flower is stamped in Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam with the leaves stamped in Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass Ink and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and adhered the leaves with Dot Runner and the flower with Foam Tape. Around the top I tied a piece of American Crafts Brights Hemp Twine in a bow to finish the card. I love that Flowers for You Set and the fun Confetti Background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for his week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your creation into the gallery! Thank you for starting another week off here with me! Have a fantastic Monday! 🙂

Paper Players 296

Yesterday may have been the perfect day weather wise! It was in the 80’s with bright sun!! I drove over to the store with top down in the car and no jacket! Renee had a class and it was fun to chat with the ladies that came in. My friend Maggie had seen that I put up on Instagram that I had the We R Memory Keepers 3D Embossing Folders and asked me to mail that to her so I got that all packaged up and sent that out. We had Subway for lunch and I stopped at Aldi to get more Sweet Cream coffee creamer. I spoke to Michael for a bit and Sue too! Angie stopped by towards the end of the day and we laughed taking about kids! I also got to drive back home with the top down! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was extra sweet and cute! We sat on the front porch and looked at the planes and played catch for a while. Boy do I love that little guy! After dinner I came home and sat down to make my card. I finally got to play with some of the new Lawn Fawn! LOVE all of it!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Laurie…

Paper Players #296

To start my card I cut out a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the main panel for my card. I spritzed a little water on it and blotted it off with a paper towel and then hit it quickly with my Heat Tool to make sure the ink was set. I stamped some of the bubbles in Versa-Mark and covered them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set them. Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts to cut out the part where the window would go. I put the panel on the base of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered the middle circle to it. On the back of the main panel I used Scor-Tape to adhere a piece of Acetate and then cut out a piece of Fun Foam with the Stitched Circles and adhered that to back with E-Z Runner. My images are from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the tail of the Merman, his crown and the school of fish. All of the images are then die cut using the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Lawn Cuts and adhered to the circle with Multi-Matte Medium. A little sprinkling of Chunky Gold Glitter and some Iridescent Flat Sequins is added and the the main panel and that is adhered the card base. My greeting is from the Big Scripty Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the hello and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally the school of fish is adhered with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I really love that ink-blended background and the super cute stamp set is great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Your visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 49 – Flowers!

Now that I get to spend everyday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store inside Scrap-A-Latte I can’t even say anything bad about Monday! What could make the day better? Why getting to drive there and back with the top down in the car listening to some unnecessarily loud music! Have you heard the new Justin Timberlake song Can’t Stop the Feeling? It’s the perfect happy upbeat song for nice rides in the car! Who doesn’t like a pocket full of sunshine?! I got lots accomplished at work but was bummed when I found that the second half of my Lawn Fawn order didn’t come. I discovered that it was too big to ship through the Post Office so it went UPS and that added an extra day. Guess there is a lot in that box! We had some new customers come by the store and I even got to talk tech with one of the husbands! 😀 I had a little dinner when I got home and talked with my parents and neighbor for a while before coming inside and making my card for today. This morning I’ll get the Lawn Fawn order all sorted out and make some samples! Yay!!

That card that I made last night… it’s for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 49 Flowers 800

Ahh… flowers… who doesn’t like flowers?! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. That fun gold frame is cut out from a piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, I use a lot of it!) using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Those pretty flowers in the center are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Inks and the leaves in Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Moon Rock Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and arranged on the card. Some Press ‘n Seal picked them up, keeping them exactly where I placed them, while I added Tombo Dot Runner and Foam Tape to the back. They are then placed back on the card, pressed in place and the Press ‘n Seal removed. For the greeting I stamped one of the sentiments from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set in Moon Rock and cut it out with my Scissors. A little Foam Tape adhered that to the top of the card. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added for a little sparkle! I LOVE that Altenew Ink, such good coverage and really easy to clean off your stamps too! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Don’t forget to pay a visit to the BLOG and see what my talented Team has come up with to inspire you! Add your card to gallery so that you can share with us! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to today! Have a thoroughly phenomenal Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 449

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good except for the water issue in the bathroom yesterday morning! I walked in the carpet was wet along with the bottom of the shower curtain?! I called my neighbor upstairs and he came down and assessed the scene. He decided he knew what it was and got parts and fixed it. I had to shower at my parent’s so I won’t know if he was successful until I get in there today! Hopefully he was! At the store I worked on getting things organized and making some loyalty cards and other design related things. Angie worked on an Art Journaling page that is just awesome and Renee worked on her layouts for classes. Love all of the creativity! I forgot to bring crafty stuff with me so I spent a little time making my card when I got home. It’s hard to know what to bring with you when you leave in the morning! Especially when you are thrown off by a bathroom fiasco! LOL! Today I’ll be getting the rest of the Lawn Fawn order and hopefully some other stuff that I ordered! I’m really having a lot of fun, can you tell?!

Now on to the business at hand! Today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Mojo449

I have had the stamp set that I used on today’s card for a L O N G time! It’s ’bout time that I inked it up! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and adhered that to the front of the card. My patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad and is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. The strip down the right side is a piece of Midnight Muse on top of a piece of Gold Mirror Card. The square and strip are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting and retro phone are both from the Hero Arts Just Saying Hi Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Onyx Black and heat embossed the phone with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The phone is cut out with Scissors and a craft knife, I need a little more practice with the knife, and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. When I saw that piece of patterned paper it reminded me of wallpaper from the 50’s so I thought that it went well with the phone! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off here with me! Not a bad day yesterday! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then gathered my stuff up that I needed to take over to Scrap-A-Latte and headed out. I had lots to do there and am happy to report that I got all of it done! Renee was also super productive and we did a little organizing! I spoke with Michael and he even FaceTimed with Renee and I! Good to see him and speak to him! Today I’ll be over at Scrap-A-Latte for card class and to finish setting up. Oh, I guess today’s the day that I get to share with you what I have been working on! I’m going to be taking over the stamp side of Scrap-A-Latte! Renee was kind enough to let me come and be in the store with her! My part will be called… Stamp, Ink, Paper!! Kind of tells you exactly what I sell! To start off I will have some Altenew, Concord & 9th and of course Lawn Fawn with Hero to follow shortly! Just in time for release day for Lawn Fawn! I’m loving the new release! Here are the sample cards that they send…

When I did finally settle down last night I made my card for this this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #295

At first I thought… I don’t think that I have any wild animals! Then I remembered that I actually have lots of them in my Lawn Fawn Sets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper. For the piece that I used for my background I inked it with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. The second piece is cut with the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders for the earth and the Meadow Borders for the grass. Next I did some more ink blending with the grass using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn, for the earth I used Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy and spritzed it with a little water and blotted it dry. They are all adhered together and to the card with E-Z Runner. The images are from the Lawn Fawn Critters Down Under Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Onyx Black and then adhered the trees with Foam Tape on the tops, the bird and extra leaves are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I really love that background and all of the bright happy colors! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for your continued visits! Have an absolutely amazing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 195

Another odd weather day here yesterday! I know we had little tastes of Spring but I’m ready for it to come and stay please! Brian came by and picked me up in the morning so we could go and get some things for my project and drop them off. We stopped by Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and Brian Had his little girl Savannah with us. She has the most infections little laugh! You just can’t help but smile when you hear it! Renee had fun playing with her for a little bit. On the way home we stopped and got her a Happy Meal from McDonald’s, one of the only things that she will eat! Brian dropped me back off at the house and Heather called. She asked if I wanted to get lunch and go over by her so I stopped at Subway and picked up two sandwiches. Always a good time with Heather! When I got back home Taylor was here doing her usual binge watching bad TV on Hulu! I FaceTimed with Andrea and made my card for today. She got some spiffy new glasses and they look really nice on her! After dinner Taylor and I ran out to Bed Bath and Walmart so I could pick up a few things. Today, yup you guessed it, lots more to get done!

If it’s Wednesday then that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS195 DT Sketch 5-18-2016

I like it when I can use just one stamp set to make a card and that’s what just what I did! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Blue Skies Photopolymer Stamp Set. For the strip across the bottom I heat embossed the clouds in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder onto a piece of Vellum and put adhesive on the part that would be hidden behind the square. That square is a piece of Marina Mist that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. The clouds, hot air balloon and banner are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. Some Silver Sequins are added with two Basic Jewels Rhinestones in the middles of the larger ones. I do love that set, the sketched look gives the images a nice soft feel to them. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the cards created by the Team and enter yours in the gallery! SIP Challenge 48 – Colors!

I trust that you all had a nice Monday! It was a little chilly here during the day but sunny and warmed up a little in the evening. I had a nice simple day. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and crafted for a bit. In the afternoon I ran a few errands and then came back home and binge watched some YouTube on the Apple TV. Mum made tacos for dinner and they were delicious! To end my evening I chatted with Michael for a bit, watched some more YouTube and relaxed. Today I have a bunch of things to do to get ready for my upcoming project finish! I’ll be able to tell you all about it on Thursday! Finally! To say that I’m excited doesn’t begin to cover it! 🙂

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some colors from Sandy…

SIP Color Challenge 48 800

Whenever I have the urge to use some Lawn Fawn it seems to last for a few days! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to it. For the frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames to cut out three pieces of Calypso Coral, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. All of the images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Baked with Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. Everything except the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. They are then die cut using the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White onto another piece of Calypso Coral and then cut out using the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape and the card is finished! You already know how fond I am of Lawn Fawn, I just really love their images and most of them work with most of their other sets! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fabulous cards! Mojo Monday 448

I was up nice and early yesterday morning so I could get ready to head into Manhattan to meet up with the gang from The Ink Pad at the Stationary Show! I took the 8:12 train and then walked over to the Javit’s Center from Penn, it’s not too far and I was there by 9:15. Some Starbucks was in order so I got a Venti No Foam Soy Vanilla Latte, do you know that drink is $7?!?! Umm… why have I never realized that before?! But I digress! Anna met me around 9:30 and we chatted for a bit before meeting up with Barbara and Jane. They went to the other part of the show and I wandered around the show floor for a while. So much cool stuff! There are so many creative and talented people out there it just amazing! And what did I find the most interesting?! The Heidi Swapp Lightbox Collection! It plugs in and lights up, of course I liked it! LOL! I left the show around 12:15 to meet up with Kim, her sister Angie and her daughters Tayler and Katie. We met up in Korea Town and had some Korean food for lunch, delicious! I really like Kimchi! We wandered around a bit and then they had to head up to see Aladdin so I went back to Penn and got the train home. I had a little dinner with my Parent’s and then watched Pan, what a great movie, I highly recommend it!

Here we are starting another week off right with Mojo Monday! And now for this week’s sketch…

Mojo448

I wanted a nice bright simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Lawn Fawn Peacock Card Stock. Next up is a piece of Guava adhered on an angle to match the sketch. The main panel is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I die cut the Hi from more Peacock with the Lawn Fawn Finley’s ABC’s Lawn Cuts and adhered them in the upper right corner with Foam Tape. My butterfly and pencil are from the Lawn Fawn Just for You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the butterfly onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and colored in the butterfly with Copics. It’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts and framed with a piece of Sunflower that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts. The pencil is also colored in with Copics, cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered with a thin sliver of Foam Tape, the circle is adhered with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Lemon Drop, Watermelon and Aquamarine Sequins and a some Glossy Accents added to the butterfly body and the card is done! I think that I definitely got bright and simple! Love that Lawn Fawn Card Stock, great colors and a nice weight! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a peek at the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and enter yours in the gallery!
