Mojo 391

What better way to start a Monday that with some snow?!?! Really?! It was just a dusting but enough already! I was speaking to my friend Andrea in Colorado and it was 80 degrees there! Not fair! LOL! I got my Girl Scout cookie Delivery at work and I had to immediately have some Samoas, they are my favorite! The rest of the day at work was quite, had dinner with the ‘rents and then came home and made my card for today. Taylor came over and we ran to Michaels so she could get some pastels, watercolor pencils and markers. I think that she covered most of the coloring mediums in one go! We came back to the house and got lost in YouTube videos for a while, a nice way to end the night!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Hmm… a Tall & Skinny! I went all out Spring! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Strawberry Slush. Two pieces of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack make up the panel across the middle and the two panels on the sides. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Vellum and a piece of Daffodil Delight. The greeting is from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush and punched out with the Hexagon Punch. All of the pieces are mounted to a piece of Blushing Bride and a piece of Whisper White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. I found two containers of the “Vintage” 2013-2015 In-Color Boutique Details and adhered one with a Glue Dot. Like I said very springy colors and I managed to stay away from the sequins too! LOL! Can You Case It #63

What a great Saturday I had! I met my friend Sue at her house at 7:15am and we headed out to go to the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Show in Allentown, PA. We made really good time and arrived there at 9:30. I had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all of the vendors. We stopped at Impression Obsession and I got a few dies. I picked up some things from some of the other booths too. But, the highlight of the day was getting to meet some of you!! I got meet Gerri K, Virginia and Donna from PA! Of course being the dunce that I am I only remembered to take one picture so here I am with the lovely Donna!!

It really was awesome to meet you all and get to chat with you for a little bit! Thank you so much for coming over to see me!! On the way home from the stamp show we stopped at Wegmans! WOW! Now that is a grocery store like I have never seen before! You could spend days in there! We also stopped at Hobby Lobby and I maintained a large amount of self control! LOL! When we got home we picked up Sue’s hubby and went to the diner for dinner. I also got to Skype with Eva for a bit and spoke to Mr. Trent during the day! Like I said a great Saturday! 🙂

So, a few of you have been asking that I share the cards that I have made for the classes at Scrap-A-Latte. Here are the ones that I made for the January class. The theme was Valentine’s and the stamp company was Lawn Fawn.

All of the images are colored with Prismacolor Premier Pencils and Gamsol. If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by and take a class!

For today’s card I’m over on the Can You Case It blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I actually flipped the sketch around to make my card! My card base is Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White. The first layer is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with a piece of Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape down the left side. On top of that is a piece of Pistachio Pudding, I used the Tim Holtz Tiles Stencil and some Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste to create that cool tile background. My tag is also cut from Neenah White with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. I used the Simon Says Stamp Artistic Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. They are cut out with the coordinating dies and watercolored with Crisp Cantaloupe and Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Ink. The stems are cut from Pistachio Pudding and all of the pieces are adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine is tied though the top and a few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins are scattered across the tag. The tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die cut from more Neenah White and adhered with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I love the soft spring colors and the tile background is just so cool! I really do hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge! Paper Craft Crew 136

It has started to get a little chilly here again and we are to go down to 38 today. Well, it was a nice taste of what’s to come! Work was good yesterday, I had my first class teaching the new software. It was good because I had my friend Casey there to help out. The rest of the day wasn’t too bad. I came home and Skyped with Andrea and the worked on a few projects. Taylor and I ran to Target, I wanted to get shoelaces. Apparently no one sells dress shoe shoelaces anymore! Nothing else exciting to report!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

I wanted an über masculine card, one that would work well for a birthday or even Father’s day. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper form the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares. My circle is a piece of Natural Wood Sheet from EK Success cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. A piece of Early Espresso is flagged on the bottom and then embossed with the “Vintage” Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My shoes and greeting are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, the shoes are heat embossed in Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Crumb Cake and cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla. My button is one of the “Vintage” Designer Naturals Buttons and it’s adhered with Glue Dots. I love the wood sheets, they give such nice texture and really do help make the card nice and masculine! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. Paper Players 236 & Manhattan

Yup, there goes another weekend! It was a good one despite the speed at which it moves. I headed into Manhattan yesterday on the 9:11am train and got to Kim’s around 10:45. We went out to the diner for a little late breakfast, I had some whole wheat pancakes and turkey sausage that was quite good! After the diner we wandered down to 86th Street and I ran into Staples and BestBuy. I picked up a new pair of Bluetooth Headphones, the ones that I have don’t last long enough! We stopped at Starbucks and had some coffee and then headed over to 63rd and First Avenue to see the future digs! I really like the apartment a lot! It’s definitely bigger and much more updated than her current one. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen!! What I wouldn’t do for a dishwasher! But the best part has to be the rooftop deck! It’s open all the time so we went up to see the view and what a view it is! I took a few pictures!

Can you see the 59th Street Bridge in the middle? How neat is that?!

Way over in the back to the left is the Chrysler Building and in the middle is the Citibank Building! Not a bad view at all! I told Kim that I would be spending my summer weekends on the rooftop deck!

I’ll have some pictures of the inside of the apartment once the current owners get the rest of their furniture out of there. I’m looking forward to getting to the decorating part!

Well, since it’s Monday I have my Paper Players card for this week’s challenge…

Lately it seems that Forever Florals has been my go to flower set! The card base for today is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I stamped in Smoky Slate with the Hardwood Background Stamp. I then used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out the panel and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. The greeting is from the Hi There Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. The Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles cut it out and some 2-Way Glue adheres it to the wood panel. My flower is from the Forever Florals Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Blushing Bride with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it in place. What’s one of my cards lately without a little sprinkling of sequins?! LOL! So there you have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Ann. Mojo 387

There is really nothing better than having to clean 5 inches of snow off of your car first thing in the morning before heading off to work, would’t you agree?! LOL! It was a Monday! My day wasn’t bad at all, had lunch with my friend Robin. We went to a little neighborhood deli in Syosset called Dugan Sandwich Shop and I had an Italian hero that was quite tasty! After work I had dinner and then came home and unpacked my little Stampin’ Up! order. I also got my MISTI Stamp Tool. I can’t wait to play with that! Made my card for today and then ran to Target to pick up some things that I have been meaning to get for about a week! I need a few more hours in the day please so I can get it all done!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I really do always love the Mojo sketches! My card base for today is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the front of with a piece of Mossy Meadow. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of So Saffron. On the bottom of that is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I heat embossed the greeting from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I rounded the bottom corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder and then adhered it to the bottom of the rectangle that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For my circle I used a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack that was just added to Sale-A-Bration. I cut it and a piece of Mossy Meadow out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. They are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Glue and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flower and butterfly are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set, also just added to Sale-A-Bration, and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the flower and the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterfly. Some tiny pieces of Clear Foam Tape adhere them to the circle. A thin bead of Ranger Black Liquid Pearls makes the body for the butterfly and a few Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins finish off the card. I love the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum and the new stamp sets that were added to Sale-A-Bration! Mossy Slate Petal Tag

Well that was a quick Saturday! I managed to get some stuff done around the house in the morning and then around noon I went over and got Heather and we ran some errands. I had to got to BestBuy to return something and then Target to do the same. Of course you can’t go in Target just to return something now can you?! I did find a jacket on clearance for $20 so I had to have that! We went back to Heather’s and she shared some more of her delicious Creme Brûlée and some other sweet treats. I had some leftover pizza for lunch and then came home and worked on some projects. I skyped with Eva for a bit while I colored in some images for my card class. A good day, but it went way too quickly! I’m supposed to go into Manhattan this morning, I haven’t looked outside to see what lasts night’s weather brought! Guess I should take a peek… it’s not too bad. Now to take the train or drive?! Decisions!

Today’s card is a just because one. I was inspired my one that I saw on Pinterest. I used a color combo that I haven’t before too. The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. In the middle of that is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack, also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. My tag is a piece of Smoky Slate, I stamped the Dictionary Background Stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black and used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Project Life Corner Rounder to create the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is threaded through the hole and left extra long. My flower is from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Smoky Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder on So Saffron and punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch. The greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed on Mossy Meadow. The tag, flower and greeting are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the grays with the Mossy Meadow and I think that the So Saffron gives it just the right amount of pop! I hope that you like my card for today. Paper Players 231

Another weekend just flew by! It’s raining and chilly here this morning. I had a good day yesterday, I ran some errands with my friend Maureen and then we went to Friday’s for lunch. I came home and made some cards and then sat down to watch the Grammy’s. There were a few good performances, and some not so good! I was happy to see Sam win! He was robbed for Album of the Year though! LOL! Nancy from work was there and I told her to make sure and tell Sam that I said hello! LOL!

Well, it’s Monday and you know what that means… it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I could have done another Valentine but I figured that I would take a little break! LOL! Today’s card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Real Red for the Background. A piece of Crumb Cake stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Crumb Cake and also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag is a piece of Whisper White punched with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. I stamped it with the ampersand from the You Plus Me Stamp Set in Calypso Coral and tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine though the top. It’s also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with one of the elements from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used some clear foam tape to adhere it to the tag and that completes the card. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge.
