Butterfly Postage Wishes & BA

Good day everyone! I’m back in NY, missing my cousins already. We went our for a breakfast yesterday before heading to Heathrow. It started to pour once we got to the airport. Tracey and Jules waited with us for ย a long while, we even sat and had a Costa Coffee before we said our goodbyes. The flight home on British Airways was really nice! We sat in Club World with the nice big seats that turn into a flat bed! Lunch was delicious and so was the snack before landing. My friend Betty met us at the plane and walked with us through to baggage claim and we were out in 15 minutes! Heather and Stephanie picked us up and Heather and I had our movie moment! LOL! I unpacked last night and went to be early so that I can try and reset my clock. Today I have some cleaning to do and then finally sit down and make a card, the first time in over two weeks! That has been the longest for me in over 4 years! Wish me luck! Here are some pictures from the plane yesterday…

Our nice big comfy seats, and yes, you sit facing the back of the plane!

Now on to today’s card which I actually made before I left. The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the “Vintage” Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate on a piece of Solar White 80lb. Down the left side is one of the stamps from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Real Red and up in the right corner is a stamp from the “Vintage” Office Ephemera Stamp Set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Two of the stamps from the same set are stamped in Pacific Point and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is also from the Butterfly Basics Set and is stamped in Pacific Point, Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I adhered the background to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, the stamps are adhered with SNAIL and the butterfly and greeting are adhered with Foam Tape. For the greeting I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket Border Die and stamped it from the Butterfly Basics Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I resisted the urge to add some sequins, LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks for sticking with me through these last two weeks and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Greenwich and The Globe

My birthday was very nice and low key yesterday. We hung around the house and then went shopping for a bit. When we came back Brian made dinner and then we watched some TV before calling it a day. Oh, thank you all for the birthday wishes, they made me smile! Today Tracey is working and Jules is going to see her dad so Brian and I are going to see my Uncle in Harrow. It’s another nice day here, and they say it rains a lot, nah! I have some more pictures from one of our little outings. We went to Greenwich and then walked along the Thames.

Cadbury World!

Happy Saturday! So yesterday I said that Tracey and Jules had a surprise for me, well we went to Cadbury World! I’m a huge chocolate fan but Cadbury’s is by far my favorite! As soon as you walked in you got three chocolate bars! Then you went on a tour of the factory and saw demonstrations on chocolate making and even got to have a sample of some chocolate with some Crunchie and Marshmallows! Then there was the world’s largest Cadbury’s Store! I was pretty good, only spent ยฃ34 (about $50)! LOL! I’m now stocked for chocolate for a while! This morning when Tracey and Jules came down they had a lovely card and presents for me! Two really nice t-shirts and more sweets! I have had a very nice birthday so far!

Here are a few pictures from Cadbury World!

Lots of nice layers! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper to cover the entire front. Across the middle is a strip of Smoky Slate. The large and small panels are also pieces of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack, the larger one is backed with Basic Black and the small with Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and flagged the bottom. The two panels are adhered to the card and the greeting flag with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish off the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Sparkle and Shine and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the small panel. I love that Timeless Elegance DSP, so nice and subtle! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you very much for stopping by today, I hope that you are enjoying all of the pictures of my trip too! Have a fantastic Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Covent Garden & The Thames

A very good Sunday to you! Yesterday was my cousin Kate’s wedding at a little old church in Sutton. The ceremony was good and the Vicar was quite funny. The reception was at a local hotel and it was so greatย to see most of my family at once. A good time was had by all! I’ll have some pictures from the wedding later in the week!

On Friday Brian and I went to Covent Garden, I have actually never been there before and it was really neat. They had performers and loads of shops, there is even an Apple Store there. Here are some pictures…

I’m also really fascinated with the Underground. Here is one of the new London Overground trains. It’s connected all the way through.

Big Ben and Westminster Abbey

A very good Saturday to you! Today is my cousin Kate’s wedding so my whole family will be there! It’s about a two hour drive and we are going to head out around 10:00. I spoke to Michael yesterday and he is headed to a strawberry and flower festival today, sounds like fun! Yesterday Brian and I wandered around London again. We took the train in from my cousins, about an hour to get in. Stopped at my Uncle’s and then set off. I have taken loads of pictures and these ones are from Thursday. After we got off of the London Eye we walked past Big Ben…

Big Ben

Love the fact that I got the bus and the guy with the Union Jack sweatshirt in the picture! LOL!

Next up we went past Westminster Abbey…

It really is amazing when you think how long all of these landmarks have been there! Next up is Trafalgar Square, a much smaller version of Times Square!

We have been fortunate with the weather so far. It has rained just a little bit at night and been overcast with little peeks of sun from time to time during the day. I’ll have more pictures for you tomorrow, now I’d better go and get ready for the wedding! Have a super Saturday my friends! ๐Ÿ™‚
