Fab Friday 88

Hi all and a happy Friday to you!! Another amazing day weather wise here yesterday! Another top down to and from work day! The store was quiet yesterday but Renee and I got a lot accomplished. I started my cards for next month’s class and Renee got organized! Taylor and Kiera stopped by, she brought my Copics up because I forgot them at home and they stayed until the store closed. I had dinner at my parent’s and got to see my brother and Daniel! He has such a great laugh! You can’t help but smile when you hear him start giggling! After dinner I came home and made my card for today and then ran out to Target to pick up a few things. Thankfully there are open until midnight! I also got to chat with Heather, she is back at school so there will be no thirsty Thursday’s for a while, bummer! She’s going to try and come by the store for lunch tomorrow, that will be fun!

Well, it’s a Fab Friday this week so I’m over on the blog for our color challenge…

Fab Fri 88 5-27-2016

I needed to make a quick card, going forward I’m going to make an attempt to work on Design Team stuff ahead but it’s taking a while to get acclimated! I had the base of this card sitting on my desk for about three months so I decided that it was high time I finished it! Speaking of the base it’s Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Scallop Border Die to cut the bottom of a piece of Solar White 80lb that I inked with Simon Says Stamp High Dive using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The thanks is cut from Black 110lb and inlaid back into the die with Multi-Matte Medium. My tree branches are cut from Chocolate Chip with the Memory Box Branching Out Die. I adhered them onto the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. The flowers are punched out from Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey using an old EK Tools Mini Flower Punch and I adhered them to the branches with Mini Glue Dots. Finally I added Pearls to the middles of all of the flowers with Bling Glue Dots and the card is finished! Nice and simple and I love when I get to find a use for something that has been siting on my desk for a while! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Go and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks for coming by today! Have a fun-tabulous Friday! 🙂

Golden Wish Thanks

Hello there and welcome to the last Monday of 2015! My weekend was great, as it always is when I spend it in Manhattan! I had another fun day yesterday. I stopped by my friends Jon and Mary’s in the morning and they gave me a big bottle of maple syrup that had brought back from one of their trips up to their house in Vermont. Can’t wait to have that on some homemade waffles! From there I headed down to The Ink Pad to hang out with Jane. We had another fun and busy day. Before I headed back out to the Island I met up with Kim at Grand Central for dinner. We had Junior’s. It was the biggest hamburger I have had in a long time and the pickles and cole slaw were delicious! Grand Central and Penn Station were very crowded with people making their way home after the long Holiday weekend but I managed to get a seat on the train and was home by 9:15. I checked my Apple Watch last night and between Saturday and Sunday I walked a total of 12 miles and since I walk so fast it burned off 1200 calories! Not bad for some exercise this weekend!

As I was perusing the Internet yesterday I noticed that I was on the Trending with the Ton post from Saturday! They featured my card for the class that I gave at The Ink Pad using the Pyrotechnics Set! You can take a look at the post HERE! Love that set!!

And I have another picture of Daniel to share with you from Christmas! So cute and my brother is a really good photographer!

Daniel Christmas 2015

While I was at The Ink Pad yesterday I was looking around and I saw this cool small background stamp from Memory Box, I think it’s one from last year but I fell in love with the script on it so I had to have it and that’s what I used on my card for today! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the background stamp on a piece of Cherry Cobbler in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered it to the card off center and down to the right a bit using some SNAIL and Fun Foam. A thin strip of Recollections Gold Glitter Paper is adhered down the left and also used with my little EK Success Snowflake Punch. I heat embossed the thanks from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered that over the wish sentiment that is on the background stamp. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins going from the top left to the bottom right complete the card! I do love when you can have a background stamp be the focal point on a card! I hope that you like today’s card and as always, thanks so much for coming by! Enjoy your last Monday of 2015!! 🙂

Chisholm Bird Christmas & The Tree!

It was a fun day at The Ink Pad yesterday! I even got to meet one of my blog readers all the way from San Antonio, TX! We took a picture together but I never got the email with it so if you see this please send the picture again! It was drizzly most of the day but we still saw a lot of people! To celebrate Small Business Saturday (and Sunday!) The Ink Pad has 20% off everything in the store! If you are around there tomorrow stop by and tell them that I sent you! I had taken the train in so I got to have a nap on the way home. I figured that it would be difficult to find parking! I had some stew that Mum made and then came home and crafted for a bit before watching The Kingsman. It was a really good movie! Today and tomorrow I have a lot of craft stuff to get done, wish me luck!

Oh, as promised, here is a look at my very non-traditional black Christmas Tree! I love it! It’s nice and tall and skinny! Can you spot all of the initial ornaments that I have on there?

JK Christmas Tree 2015

The card that I made last night when I got home is today’s card! I used a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink and the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to crate the “sky” on the card. A piece of Mossy Meadow is cut out with the Chisholm Die and adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive along with a branch cut from some Early Espresso using the Memory Box Branching Out Die. My bird is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Khaki and Lipstick Red Ink, for the final layer I used Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Recollections Red Tinsel Embossing Powder. His feet are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and they are both cut out with the coordinating Frame Cuts dies. The feet are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the bird with Foam Tape. My greeting is stamped in Lipstick Red using the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set along the bottom right. Finally a few Red Sequins from Michaels are adhered to the wreath and complete the card. I still think the Color Layering Bird is so cool and the wreath is fast becoming a favorite! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and the peek at my very non-traditional Christmas Tree! Thank you very much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Sunday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 168

Getting a late start to the day, oops! I was at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday watching the store for Renee. I did some cutting for her and then Andrew came up and had lunch with me. We had Blaze pizza, delicious as always! He helped me put up some new signs in the window and we listened to music and got caught up. Nice to spend some time with him! When I got home I had a sandwich and watched Limitless. After that it was time for bed. Today we are supposed to have rain and wind so it will be a good crafty day. I need one of those!

After a little hiatus I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew blog today for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS168 DT Sketch 10-28-2015

As soon as I saw the sketch I thought it would be a good one to use with my Hero Arts Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Vellum and rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. My greeting and all of the poinsettias and leaves are from the October My Monthly Hero Arts Kit. I heat embossed the greeting in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. Across the lower part is a piece of paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered that to the vellum and then hid some SNAIL and 2-Way Glue behind the strip and greeting to adhere the vellum to the card. A circle is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles from another piece of paper from the same 6×6 pad and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The poinsettias are stamped in one of the reds from the kit, the second layer is Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red and then the third layer is heat embossed with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. In the center I used some Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks. For the leaves I used the two greens that came in the kit and then cut out the poinsettias and leaves with the coordinating dies. A piece of Early Espresso is cut out with the Memory Box Branching Out Dies and adhered to the gold circle with SNAIL. The Poinsettias are adhered with Foam Tape and the leaves with SNAIL tucked under them. I used a little Glossy Accents in the centers of the poinsettias and the card is done! I’ve said it before, I love the stamp layering sets and this one is no exception! The stamps in the kit are great and the coordinating dies are a nice addition! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! It’s good to be back with all of the rest of the talented Design Team so go on over to the blog and check out their projects! Thanks very much for visiting with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Oceana Pearl Birthday

It’s a little chilly here this morning but it’s the weekend so it’s all good! Yesterday I went over to Scrap-A-Latte in the morning to help Renee with some stuff and then came back home so I could meet Sue and got to lunch. We went to the Sequa Deli and I had a the Buffalo Chicken Panini. We sat and chatted for a while, I told her all about my trip, I haven’t seen her since before I left for England! After lunch we came back to my house for a bit and looked at some of my cards. It was great to catch up with her! After, I had dinner at my parents and played with Daniel for a bit before running out to do some errands. I met up with Heather at BJ’s and then came home and watched Jurassic World. This morning I’m headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad again which is always fun!

Last night I was going through my stash and came across a die that I haven’t used and a card popped into my head! Love it when that happens! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Island Indigo that I heat embossed with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder using the Hero Arts Waves Background Stamp, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. In the left corner is that die, the Memory Box Oceana Corner cut from some Paper Cut Ice Gold Metallic Curious Card Stock. I used little tiny pieces of Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Die cut from the same card stock and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Of course, to finish off the card there is a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I love the Silver Pearl Embossing Powder and the way it changes color in the light! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and that you all have a super Saturday! Thanks very much for visiting! 🙂

Fab Friday 72 & the London Eye

Hello and a happy Friday to you! Brian and I did a lot of wandering around London yesterday. Our first stop was the London Eye, that huge ferris wheel that lets you see all of London on a nice day and it was a very nice day indeed! We actually got lucky and when we went to get on line the guy there moved us over to the quick one and we were on in five minutes. You really can see so much from up there and it takes about 30 minutes to go all the round. The first thing that you notice is Big Ben…

London Eye Big Ben

Next up is Charing Cross Station…

London Eye Kings Cross

When we left we walked across Westminster Bridge and got this nice photo of the Eye…

Thames London Eye

I’ll have some more pictures for you tomorrow!

Today is a Fab Friday and we have a sketch for you this time…

Fab Friday 72

I stayed very true to the sketch, I haven’t used a doily in really long time! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Blushing Bride. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is adhered to the card with SNAIL and across that is a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet and a strip of Adhesive Cork. I cut a piece of the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered that to the doily with Foam Tape. For the heart I inked a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s cut out with the Memory Box Stitched Hearts Layers Dies and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Locking Hearts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Khaki Ink on the bottom right of the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. I really like the softness of the pink with the woodgrain, it makes for a nice contrast! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and enter your take on the sketch in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting today and I wish you all a very good Friday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 262

It’s another beautiful day in Manhattan! Nice and sunny and not too hot. Yesterday I spent the day at The Ink Pad with Michael and Barbara. Towards the end of the day Kathy from The Daily Marker stopped in. She has another coloring challenge coming up in October and I’m going to do my best to participate in it! You can check out her blog HERE! After work Michael and I walked over to Trader Joe’s to pick up some stuff so he could make dinner. We got back to the apartment and had spinach tortellini with pesto and garlic bread with melted mozzarella cheese. It was yummy! Today we are going to head downtown and do a little more wandering! Her are some more pictures from our adventure the other evening.

WTC 1

The new tower looks cool during the day but I think it’s even neater at night! Michael has a post up today with some more pictures so be sure and go over to his BLOG and check them out!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

Pals Paper Arts 262

This card started off with the need to use a bunch of die cuts! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Tip Top Taupe and is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I cut two circles out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die from Pool Party. The larger one is stamped with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Pool Party. I tucked the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Flourish Die cut from Gold Glimmer Paper behind the circle that is adhered with SNAIL to the card. My branch is cut from Silver Glimmer Paper using the Memory Box Branching Out Die and is adhered to the circle with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. The butterfly is cut from Mint Macaroon and Vellum using the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire and Paulina Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I adhered the other circle to the card with SNAIL. The hello is cut from Solar White 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die. I brushed some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over it for some added interest. Finally, some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle and Green with Envy Sequins complete the card. I love all of the die cuts and the colors are great together! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thank you for stopping by and sharing in my weekend! I always appreciate your visits and wish you a fun Sunday! 🙂

Distressed Butterfly Wishes

Is it Thursday already?! We had more sunny weather yesterday, just how I like it! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to meet up with Michael so that we could choose the papers for next week’s card class. We had Panera for dinner with Nicholas and then came back to my house. Michael worked on his projects in Stampin’ Galley! He made a really neat card and a cute gift bag that can be used to hold a gift card. He’ll be doing a blog post soon to show his projects! For now here is a picture of him hard at work!

MT SG RC

It’s a little bit of a mess in there isn’t it?! I’ll work on my projects over the weekend. I’m looking forward to the joint class!

My card that I have today is one that I made because I wanted to try out a new die that Michael had gotten me, The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The panel is a piece of Crumb Cake, I used one the the dies from the new Memory Box Open Studio Distressed Wyndham Collage Die Set to cut out the lower left side. All of the stamped images are from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flower and greeting are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the dashed line is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I also heat embossed the butterfly in Gold on Vellum and cut it out with the Butterfly Thinlits. It’s adhered to the card with a teeny piece of Foam Tape. The panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I love that Memory Box die, it’s so cool! A nice simple birthday card with a slightly rustic feel to it! I hope that you enjoyed my just for fun card for today! I thank you very much for coming by and I wish you all an excellent Thursday! 🙂

Paper Players 244

What a gorgeous day! It was sunny with a slight breeze, just perfect! I spent the day crafting and going outside to sit and enjoy the weather. A nice relaxing day. My mum and dad went out to see my brother, Erika and Daniel. Erika took my mum and her mum out to dinner. I Skyped with Eva for a bit and then Taylor and I ran to Target to pick up some essentials. Taylor is watching Ink Masters on the Apple TV and they did inside the mouth tattoos… YUK! Another reason that I don’t watch much TV! How was your day? I hope that all of the Mums had a lovely day spent with their families doing everything for them while they crafted the day away!

I can’t believe that it’s Monday already, but it does mean that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players. Before I show you this week’s challenge I want to thank Laurie for choosing me as her headliner for last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now for this week’s challenge…

Paper Players #244

Fun colors! I played with some more new goodies! My card base Neenah Solar White 110lb For the background I used a new to me die from Memory Box called Starry Night Background, it’s cut out of Sahara Sand, backed with some Lost Lagoon and then adhered to the base with SNAIL. My tag is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement in Lost Lagoon. A piece of Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and the the tag is adhered with a piece of Fun Foam in between. The branch, bird and leaves are cut from Soft Suede and Pistachio Pudding using the Simon Says Stamp Songbird Branch Die. The branch is tucked under the tag and the the bird is adhered with a piece of Foam Tape. Some of the stars and sequins from the 2013-2015 In-Color Designer Sequins are adhered around the card for a little shine. I love that starry background, so much fun and the sentiment is just great! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge. Thanks for coming by today, have the bast Monday that you can! 🙂
