I can’t believe that it’s Thursday already!! Not that I’m complaining, but the week seems to be moving along doesn’t it?! I had a nice day at work yesterday. The purchasing manager asked me if I wanted to go on a field trip with her and of course I said yes! We went to Walmart to get supplies to set up an apartment for someone. It was fun with two shopping carts full of stuff that kept falling out! I do love a field trip! When I got home last night I made a card and then went to see Kim and Heather for a glass of wine. Heather and I ran to BJ’s and then I came home and made another card. A little addicted maybe?! LOL!

For today’s post I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge from Debbie Carriere…

I love the tilted panel and the banners but I did have to think about this one for a while. I wanted to use some Sale-A-Bration goodies since sadly it’s almost over. If you want some Sale-A-Bration you have until Monday people! My card starts off with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock and my tilted background is a piece of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. The greeting is from the Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Pistachio Pudding and another piece of Sweet Sorbet DSP to create the backdrop for my flowers. The flowers are form the Petal Parade Stamp Set and are stamped in Pool Party and Summer Starfruit, the large one is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and the smaller one with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. My banners are Pool Party punched out with the Banner Punch. The flowers are from the Banner Blast Stamp Set and are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe and punched out with the Itty Bitty Shaped Punch Pack. In the middles are Basic Jewels Pearls. A Subtles Designer Series Button with some twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack is adhered to the card with some Mini Glue Dots. I think that I got a good amount of Sale-A-Bration products on the card and the greeting is fun because it looks like it’s written with a marker. Monday’s really aren’t my favorite day of the week, you all know what day that is! Yesterday wasn’t too bad for a Monday, work was tolerable and I had a relatively relaxing evening. I got some projects done last night and am making some progress which is always good! I did do something to my neck last week and it’s getting progressively worse. I think I may actually have to pay a visit to the Chiropractor. I’m not a big fan of doctors, I think I have been maybe 2 times in the past 12 years. We’ll see how I feel by lunchtime! I’m glad that you all enjoyed the pictures and my project yesterday! I enjoy wandering around the city looking for things to take pictures of to share with you!

Some panels for a nice simple sketch! I almost forgot that there are less than two week’s left for Sale-A-Bration! Boy did that go fast! I used some of my favorite Sale-A-Bration goodies on my card today! The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. I used some paper from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper pack for the two panels. The larger one is backed by a piece of Pistachio Pudding. My greeting is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and backed with a piece of Basic Black. The arrows, stamped in Sahara Sand and flower, stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe are from the Petal Parade Stamp Set. My flower is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. In the middle is a piece of Summer Starfruit that I punched out with the Boho Blossom Punch and three Basic Jewels Pearls are in the middle. Some random matte black sequins scattered around compete the card. I really think that the Sale-A-Bration products this year are some of the best we have had, don’t you?! Thursday, one more day until Friday. This week can’t be over fast enough! Work has been not so much fun this week and it is 28 degrees this morning. All we got was a taste of Spring but it was much appreciated! A neat little bit of news for you, my butterfly card (Click HERE to see the original post) from a few days ago is the featured card on the SplitCoast Stampers Stampin’ Up! Gallery page! Pretty awesome! I have some swaps to make for the Control Freaks and I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet. I need to spend some time this weekend on that! LOL! How is everything by you? Hopefully all is well.

My post for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Debbie Carriere has a nice clean sketch for us this week…

When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of the Starburst Collection Framelits and the coordinating Starburst Sayings Stamp Set. My card base is Basic Black Card Stock and my background is a piece of Pool Party. The panel in the middle is Basic Black with a piece of paper from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper pack. I have been looking for a nice place to use that particular piece of DSP and I think I found it! I cut out a piece of Silver Foil Sheet with the Starburst Collection Framelits to back the greeting, stamped in Pool Party, from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set, also cut out with the Framelits. Another stamp from the same set, stamped in Basic Black is adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensionals in the lower right and that’s how the other pieces are adhered to the card. Simple yes, but the Silver Foil Sheet gives it the little something extra. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. Well, all of that snow that we were supposed to get yesterday didn’t happen! Woo hoo! We got a dusting and it’s so cold here that none of it went away but that’s ok! Yesterday wasn’t too bad for a Monday. I got some things done at work and we had to go to Canon for a copier demonstration, our one is a piece of junk. We got the entire history of all of Canon’s products, not sure if that was necessary! After work I had card class at Sandy’s, always a good time. I came home and made the card that you are about to see here today. Once again I was lucky and put it together in my head before I got home! Love when that happens!

So, today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and Julee Tilman has given us a fun one to work with this week…

I saw the element in the middle as a big frame! It was also funny the way the background is split, I just did something similar yesterday! The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. My background on the left is a piece of paper from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper pack, I also used a different piece for the inside of the frame. On the right is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the frame I used a piece of Sahara Sand and stamped it in Basic Black with the Dictionary Background Stamp. A piece of Summer Starfruit Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack is tied in a bow around the top. My greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Back and the left side is flagged. The two flowers are from the Petal Parade Stamp Set and are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit, the smaller flower is punched out with the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch and the larger one with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. Both the frame and the flowers are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I know I’ve said it before but I really do love the colors in the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper and the Dictionary Stamp is still one of my all time favorites! Yeah! Thursday! One more day to go until… FRIDAY! It snowed here yesterday morning but thankfully it didn’t amount to anything. We are supposed to get another storm on Sunday night, fingers crossed that it’s not snow and rain instead! I had a nice day yesterday. The best part was doing my Stampin’ Up! Webinar last night. It was the same one that I did at Leadership, Pinteresting. Thank you to all of you that joined in and if you missed it it will we posted sometime next week on the Demonstrator site. I also want to thank Katie Adams and Brian Pilling for their assistance last night. You guys are awesome! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I love it when they mix it up and this week is one of those weeks that they did just that. Julee Tilman has given us this tall skinny sketch…

This was one of those times that I knew exactly what I was going to do when I saw the sketch! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the background consists of four layers. The top one is just a simple piece of Sahara Sand. The bottom three are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding. I used my Fringe Scissors on each piece and overlapped them. My tag is created with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and some Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Whisper White to make it a little more sturdy. I tied a piece of twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack throughout the top of the tag and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bird is from the Natures’s Hello Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits. Behind him is a piece of Pistachio Pudding that I stamped with one of the stamps form this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit in Pistachio Pudding and punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. Behind that is a piece of Summer Starfruit that is punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I adhered it to the tag and done! I really do like the stamps in the Nature’s Hello Stamp Set, they are neat because they have the greeting inside the image. Hopefully the Fringe Scissors with be back in stock soon, they are so much fun! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Mojo Monday card for this week’s sketch challenge. Yes, more snow! I know that you are as shocked as I am! LOL! Not really… we got a coating last night and it’s supposed to snow until 11:30. At that time I guess they turn the snow off?!?! I would prefer if they turned the snow off completely! Yesterday work was unusually quiet, not that I’m complaining, it just never is! All in all a pretty uneventful Monday, which is definitely good for a Monday! 🙂

I participate in quite a few challenges each week. Some I’m on the Design Team and other I just enjoy playing along. The reason I do this is because I find that they are a great place to get inspiration. I make a card or two almost every day and sometimes a little inspiration is a good thing! Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge provided by Julee Tilman…

We got a new Stamp Set at Leadership that will be in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog and I have been looking for the perfect sketch to use it with and this one fits the bill! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the front of the card with a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. My strip of Tangerine Tango going down the left side is embossed with the Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The main panel is also a piece of Watercolor Wonder DSP backed with a piece of Crushed Curry and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flower and greeting are from the set I mentioned which is called So Very Happy, the flower is stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the Blossom Punch and the greeting is stamped in Tangerine Tango and cut out with my Paper Snips. Across the flower is a piece of Gumball Green that I embossed with the Needlepoint Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting is adhered on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that completes the card. Nice and soft colors with just a pop of Tangerine and Gumball. The Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper is great, it has a nice array of colors and patterns, good for so many things. And there you have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Mojo Monday 332

Thursday, February 13, 2014. another snowy day here on Long Island. We have gotten about 3 inches of snow so far and then it’s turning to rain and then back to snow so tomorrow morning should be fun! LOL! I did have a great time in Brooklyn last night. Heather and I went to Kimchi Grill for some Korean barbecue. It was delicious, nice and spicy! After that we headed to Starbucks for some coffee to warm up and then off to see Andrew and Satellite Lane at The Way Station. It’s a Doctor Who themed bar and the bathroom is a tardis! Pretty neat sketch, I do love the tag. My card base is Night of Navy Card Stock and my background is a piece of Crumb Cake stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Soft Suede. Across the middle is a strip of Soft Suede that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The tag is another piece of Night of Navy, I angled the top myself and heat embossed the greeting from the Perfect Blend Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The coffee cup and band are also from the same set, are stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White and Crumb Cake and both of them are cut out with my Paper Snips. The “happy birthday” is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Night of Navy with the left side flagged. The three buttons are Basic Metal Buttons and are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. My tag and all of the pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought I would step away from my Valentine trend and make a masculine birthday card from this sketch. I really really like the Woodgrain Background Stamp and the Perfect Blend Stamp Set is one of my favorites, too! I also haven’t used Night of Navy in a while because I tend to go for Midnight Muse. Oh, I think I forget to tell you it was snowing yesterday morning when I got up. The best part, it snowed all day. We got about eight inches and we are supposed to get some more tomorrow night and then again over the weekend. I guess the winter isn’t finished just yet. Yesterday’s snow was the heavy wet kind, if I have to deal with snow I would rather the powdery kind. I have so much experience with it this year! Who knew there were so many choices?! LOL! I will say one thing for snow, we did get out of work early again today! You know it’s bad when I would rather be at work than deal with the snow! Here is a little picture I took last night, that’s a lot of snow!

Now on to the fun stuff! Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This week our sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

When I saw the sketch I saw the opportunity for a little collage style! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. For the first layer of the background I used a piece of Real Red. My banner is a piece of paper from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack that I cut out with the Banners Framelits Dies. I also cut out a piece of Whisper White to back it with so it would be a little sturdier when I adhered it to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I slid a piece of Red Glimmer Paper behind it on an angle. My piece of Crumb Cake is stamped with one of the Paper Pumpkin stamps in Crumb Cake and then I rounded the corners with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and is stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits Dies. Another piece of Red Glimmer Paper is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. My two little speech bubbles are from last month’s Paper Pumpkin and are stamped in Real Red and Coastal Cabana and cut out with my Paper Snips. Are you impressed that I remembered to use Coastal Cabana?! LOL! I really like the subtle collage and the colors, well we know I’m liking those! Mojo 330 & Guest Card Maker

Ahh… Thursday, one more day to go! Don’t you just love the countdown to the weekend?! I know I do! Most of the snow that we got yesterday morning has blown away, it was nice and windy and cold here again. Work you ask, well it was crazy busy again! I did have a fun evening though. Danielle came over and we went to Friday’s for dinner. We even had some desert, the Tennessee Whiskey Cake and it was mind blowing-ly amazing! After dinner We came back to the house and Danielle sat at the craft desk and made her very first card. It’s a Valentine’s Day card for her boyfriend Derek. I think that she did a fantastic job! I love the colors and there is just enough grey to make it masculine but a good bit of love too! Here it is…

She colored the love in to make it look a little chalky and the Designer Series Paper is the “Vintage” More Amore from last year’s Occasions Catalog. I love the Smoky Slate with the paper, too bad we didn’t have that color last year! 🙂

Now on to my post for today which is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

A fun tall & skinny card! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. A piece of Strawberry Slush and a piece of Gold Designer Vellum with some Gold Sequin Trim create the background. Next up is a piece of Blushing Bride that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Sale-A-Bration. I stamped the Flowerful Heart in Strawberry Slush and cut it out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. A piece of Coastal Cabana is cut out with them too and paper-pierced using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack. My greeting is form the “Vintage” Perfectly You Host(ess) Stamp Set form the 2013 Holiday Catalog and is cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. I backed it with a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that I cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it all to the card. I really liked the sketch this week and love the heart hanging off the side of the card. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and my friend Danielle’s card! Mojo 329

Good day, peeps! Now that we have Monday under our belts we can get on with the rest of the week. My day was pretty average. Work was work, came home, crafted, hung out with Andrew, ran some errands, done! Fabulous news on the weather tonight! Six to twelve inches of snow on the way starting tomorrow at noon. YAY!… NOT. What’s going on in your neck of the woods? If it’s warm where you are, do you have a spare room? LOL!

My inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and it’s a nice, simple sketch from Teresa Kline…

I used the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper as a starting point for my colors. The card base is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. A strip of the Retro Fresh DSP goes across the middle with a strip of Coastal Cabana on top of that and tucked underneath is a piece of Tangerine Tango that I cut with the Fringe Scissors. Some Gold Foil Sheet is cut out with the Starburst Collection Framelits Dies and I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and my Paper-Piercing tool to pierce the circle. My greeting comes from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango; that is also cut out with the Starburst Framelits. Definitely a simple card but I love the color combination from the DSP. And the Gold Foil Sheet looks really cool when it’s paper-pierced.
