Do you ever have one of those days? The kind where you have so much to get done and you just can’t pick a starting point so not much gets done! I hate when that happens! That was my Sunday! The weather was so nice I think that it may have played a part in my distraction! I kept wanting to be outside! I did get a few things done but no where near as many as I wanted! Oh well, we’ll try to finish up things today! I was supposed to take Heather to the airport this morning but she called me last night and apparently she has a 101 fever so she won’t be going anywhere. Feel better Heather! How was your Sunday?

Today is Monday and that means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

This card all began with the urge to watercolor and evolved from there! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb. It’s gives it that nice cross stitched detail around the edge. I then masked off the edge with some Post-it Tape and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp onto it using my MISTI and Simon Says Stamp Black Ink. It’s then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The three panels are Gold Mirror Card Stock and they are adhered with Foam tape and E-Z Runner. The flower and leaves are from the Mama Elephant Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. A little more E-Z Runner adheres them to the card. My greeting is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Hello Script Creative Cuts and adhered to the flowers and leaves with Multi-Matte Medium. It really is funny how hard it is to take a good photo of a card with Mirror Card Stock on it! The greeting really stands out in real life! Happy Monday! We had another lovely November like day here yesterday! Wait, it’s April! LOL! I think that Mother Nature is really confused! At least it was sunny! I made my 20 block walk to The Ink Pad in the morning and even opened up the store with Jane a little early! There were some nice people waiting outside and it was just a little too chilly to make them do that! We had a fun day like we always do! I introduced Jane to Apple Music! She’s looking forward to listening to some tuneage! I got the 6:12 train home and had a little dinner with my parents, they waited for me! Aren’t they the best! After dinner I took Winston back home and watched some TV and that was about it! A nice relaxing way to end the weekend!

The start of another week means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

I think that lately I have a slight obsession with purple! Must be trying to make up for the neglect it usually gets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of paper from the Recollections Color Splash 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles, running it through a second time to get it to the exact size that I wanted. A strip of Black 110lb is flagged on the bottom and adhered down the left side of the Vellum. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hot Mama for the hello friend and Black for the Happy Birthday. The Happy Birthday is cut out and adhered under the script hello friend and the panel is adhered to the Vellum with more E-Z Runner. All of the flowers and leaves are from the same set and are stamped in Lucky, Thistle, Hot Mama, Rosie Cheeks and Teeny Bikini. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner except for the large purple one, that’s adhered with Foam Tape. Of course I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Shamrock and Orchid Sequins! I do love the different fonts for the greeting and the nice artsy flowers! Mojo Monday 442

What a fun weekend I had! Yesterday it was incredibly windy in Manhattan! Kim and I walked to the Subway together in the morning and it’s good that we were together so that we could stop each other from blowing away! I had a lovely day at The Ink Pad with Jane. The heat was shut off in the building so it was a little chilly in the store. We set up some heaters and had to keep the door locked because it kept blowing open! When we were dome for the day I managed to make the 6:12 and was home by 7:10! Love when the commute from the city takes less than an hour! when I got home I had a little crafting to do and I ran over to my friend Christina’s house to help her with her iPhone. Today I have a few more projects to get through and some errands to run. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer and a lot less windy!

What better way to start of the week than with a Mojo Monday sketch…

I have a little bit of an aversion to busy backgrounds but I thought that I would give one a try today and see what you think! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of Rose Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies. On top of that is a piece of Mint Macaroon and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flagged strip is a piece of So Safron and I heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut out another piece of Night of Navy with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Craft Dies and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My flower is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper cut out with The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Stand Alone Dies. I used some of my Finetec Metallic Watercolors to paint it and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to break up the Mint Macaroon and add a little more sparkle. I love that flower, especially all glitzed up with the Finetec Watercolors! I had a very low key relaxing Easter. My parent’s went to my Sister-In-Law’s parent’s house and I stayed home. I crafted, boy did I craft! I made four cards! I would have made more but I kept taking TV breaks! LOL! I also managed to get my laundry done! I was a pretty productive day despite the laid back feel! I hope that you all enjoyed your Easter and that you either had a nice quiet relaxing day like me or got to spend lots of time with family and friends!

It’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Yup, I played with some new goodies! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Strip Background with some Simon Says Stamp Thistle Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb for the left side of my background. It’s adhered to another piece of Solar White 80lb and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The main panel is another piece of Solar White 80lb. I stamped the flowers form the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Thistle and Hot Mama and Hero Arts Grape Juice Ink. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Lucky and Green Leaf. I adhered it to a piece of Black 110lb and then that is adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My circle is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts and the butterfly is from the Hero Arts Butterfly Pair Stamp and Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set in Mot Mama. The die is cool because it cuts out the wings but leaves the body attached. I fluffed up the wings and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the For You Flowers Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb. I adhered it to the card with more E-Z Runner and Foam Tape tucking some of it under the butterfly wing. Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Amethyst and Shamrock Sequins are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and complete the card! I absolutely love the flowers especially in the purples, I haven’t used purple in a long time! I hope that you enjoy my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Yes, it was the first day of Spring yesterday and yes, it snowed here last night! I think that Mother Nature is a little confused! Most of the day was nice and sunny, a little chilly but not bad. Then last night… snow! I’m over it, totally! LOL! I did enjoy my day at The Ink Pad with Jane yesterday. We had Dirty Bird for lunch… YUM! There was a steady flow of customers and I played a little with the Distress Crayons, I think that I really like them! The train ride home was nice too, not that many people on it. I had a little nap and then ate dinner at my Parent’s before coming home and crafting for a bit. Today is a little bit of a relaxed day! I want to wish my friend Andrea a very Happy Birthday!! Can’t wait to craft with you today!

Starting another week means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

The other day I sat down and stamped a few of the Goldfish from Hero and one of them made it on to today’s card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Wave Embossing Folder on a piece of Mint Macaroon and two pieces of Pool Party. I adhered the Mint Macaroon panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner with a strip of Coastal Cabana across the middle. The two panels of Pool Party are adhered the same way and were embossed so that the pattern would line up. My Goldfish, well Black Moor really, is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Simon Says Stamp Smoke and Black Ink and then used the first layer to stamp it in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I’m still waiting for the dies so I used my Scissors to cut him out. A circle is cut from a piece of Vellum Card Stock using the Sizzix Circles Framelits. The Molly is then adhered to the Vellum with Foam Tape, some more Foam Tape is added behind the Molly and then the circle is adhered to the card. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on another piece of Vellum and punched it out with a 1″ Circle Punch. It’s adhered above the fish with more Foam Tape. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added and the card is done! I’m loving that Goldfish Stamp Set, especially in the grey and black and the embossing folder… well, I can’t say enough about them! Hello happy blog peeps! How was the weekend? I thoroughly enjoyed mine! I got my laundry done yesterday and managed a little down time too. It was a quiet day except for a few errands with Heather. We went to BJ’s, Target and the new Shop Rite where an older gentleman was pushing his cart through the parking lot and reading his receipt which resulted in him pushing the cart right into the back fender of Heather’s car leaving a nice dent. I’m not sure but I think in a parking lot you should be looking up! Oh boy! Hopefully it won’t cost too much to get fixed! I did watch a movie yesterday, Up In The Air with George Clooney. I had seen it before but it’s a really good movie! Today I’ll be getting some crafty projects finished, what’s on for the start of your week?

Happily I get to start my craftiness off every Monday with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Hero Arts Large Floral Background Stamp in Hero Arts Pink to Red Ombre Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb and then adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. A piece of Real Red and Melon Mambo are both stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp. I used Red Royal to stamp the Real Red and Bubble Gum to stamp the Melon Mambo. The red is adhered directly to the background and the melon with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My butterfly is from the Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Bubble Gum and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered it to the card with a thin piece of Foam Tape. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Ballerina Pink, Raspberry and Watermelon Sequins are added for a little sparkle! What a nice weekend, a little chilly but very nice! I was home most of the day yesterday except for running a few errands with Heather. We went to IKEA so that she could get a new desk chair and lamp. IKEA on a Sunday is not for the faint of heart! LOL! So crowded! But we did get some of their frozen yogurt which is delicious as is their coffee. I put the chair together when we got back to Heather’s and then we stopped at the Dollar Tree before she dropped me off back at my house. I crafted for a bit and finished up my laundry, had some dinner and then watched some TV. Today I’m going to do a bit more crafting as I will be in Manhattan on Tuesday and Wednesday. Need to get some more projects finished!

As always we are starting the week off with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

I dug into my Simon Says Stamp Kit again to make today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Soft Sky with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Dotted 3D Embossing Folder and adhered a piece of Pink Pirouette 1 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon around the back slightly to the right of center. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, E-Z Runner and Multi-Purpose Glue. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out a piece of the Echo Park Spring Collection 6×6 Paper and adhered that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner, tucking it under the ribbon. My greeting and peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I ran it through twice to get it to the size that I needed. The HUGS is colored in with my Copics and the panel is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My peeps are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores, Rosie Cheeks, Jellybean and Goldenlocks Ink, their eyes are added with a Black Gel Pen. I used the Coordinating My Kind of Peep Dies to cut them out and adhered three of them to the greeting panel with Foam Tape. The fourth bunny is adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to the peeps and a few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix, Ballerina Pink, Aquamarine, Lime Sorbet and Lemon Drop Sequins are scattered about for a little sparkle! Here we go again! The start of another week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday! We made it up into the 60’s! I crafted for a bit in the morning and then headed over to Brian and Kim’s to meet up with Heather. We took the kids and two cars and headed over to Roosevelt Field Mall to go dress shopping for the ladies. I think I set a new record, I had them both dressed in 30 minutes! LOL! From there we headed over to the food court, Heather, Brian and I had Japanese, Kim had a healthy wrap and the girls had Wendy’s. Heather and I also got smoothies and they were yummy! Once we were finished we went back to Brian and Kim’s, Brian and I ran out to Shop Rite quick to pick ups some things. We had some snacks and I had a hard root beer that was actually quite tasty. I crafted a bit more and then turned on the Oscars just in time to see Sam perform, and later to see his acceptance speech because he won!! The rest of it looked terrible so I turned it off. Today I’ll be running over to see Renee for a bit and working on some more projects!

The best thing about Monday’s… well, the Mojo Monday Sketch of course…

I have been having fun with the new Lawn Fawn release so I used some more on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ wide. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. Across the top portion is a piece of Watermelon Wonder. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Island Indigo and then heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Six Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For my shaker circle I cut out a piece of Watermelon Wonder with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames along with a piece of Fun Foam. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles are used to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. On the back circle I heat embossed the bubbles from the Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set and then used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive Ink to give it some color. I adhered all of the pieces together with Scor-Tape, adding some Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins before adhering the back. My Oyster is from the Year Six Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. A piece of Foam Tape holds him on the shaker and the shaker is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. I love that Plaid Paper Pad and the little oyster with that greeting is so cute! Mojo Monday 436

Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!

The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! Mojo Monday 435

Still cold just in case you were wondering! It was way too cold to get out of bed so I slept in. I spent most of the day in the house except for a little trip to Burger King for lunch and then Stop and Shop with my friend Maureen. I got to speak to Michael for a while and when I came home Taylor and Keira were here. They were binge watching I Zombie on Netflix. After dinner I worked on some projects and then watched a few movies. I did get a nice text from my sister-in-law with a video from Daniel. I just had to share it with you! Isn’t he just the cutest! That’s my brother that you hear in the background. Oh, and Winston is back to his normal self and feeling much better! Now if I could just get him to stop sampling things in the yard!

Starting off the week right with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

I promise that I will get away from reds and pinks! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut out a piece of Blushing Bride for the background and adhered that to the base with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The two strips of paper are from the Pebbles Your Truly 6×6 Paper Pad and are adhered to the background with SNAIL. For the main panel I cut out a piece of Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies and heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The panel is then adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. My flowers and leaves are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and they are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Duckling and Teal Ink on Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered them to the red square with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I really love the finished edge that the Stitched Dies give to the panels and the flowers are nice and neat too!
