Mojo Monday 422

Another weekend for the books. I really enjoyed myself at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair with Anna. I had fun demoing the Brother Scan-n-Cut and chatting with all of the people that stopped by. I even got to see my friend Jessica! There were all sorts of talented people selling things and demoing Calligraphy. I used to do Calligraphy when I was younger and definitely need to get back into it, I forgot how much fun it is! Driving was an extremely pleasant experience, it took me 35 minutes to get there! I also got a space right outside the Synagogue. Going home took a little longer, about an hour, still not bad. I was worried that there would be a lot of traffic because of the marathon but I guess so was everyone else! Here is a look at Gramercy Park, you need to live in one of the buildings that face the park in order to get a key to get into the park!

Gramercy Park 11-01-2015

One of the buildings across from the park has actual gas lamps outside, how neat is that?!

And now on to today’s post! The start of another week and it’s time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo422

I have had this frame sitting on my desk for a while and thought it would make a good addition to my card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with a strip of Basic Gray going across the middle. Next up is that Frame, it’s from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Pack and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My roses are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Rose Red for the flowers and Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. They are all cut out with the coordinating Vintage Roses Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and SNAIL. For the greeting I used a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. Some Foam Tape holds that in place. A few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added to the roses with Multi-Matte Medium and some Onyx, Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins to finish the card! I still love those roses and the Clear Droplets are really neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and don’t forget to visit the blog and check out the other Designer’s cards! Thank you very much for stopping by! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 421

Hi there! We are off to the start of another week! I had a nice lazy day yesterday. It rained in the morning but the sun came out around 1:00. I made a few projects and watched a few movies. Didn’t do the things that I should have been doing but it is what it is! Today I’m going to stop by and see Renee and then this afternoon I’m going to stop by Sue’s and hang out with her for a bit.

The start of another week also means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday challenge…

Mojo421

I picked up another stamp set from The Ton when Effie dropped them off the other day and used them on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. My background is a piece of Black 110lb that is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I heat embossed the greeting from a old Paper Pumpkin Kit in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder in the lower right hand corner. The panel on the right is a piece of Shadow Curious Metallic Card Stock and I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. A strip of Cherry Cobbler goes down the middle. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with my Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circles and adhered that to the card with Foam Tape. Those fun bows are form The Ton Holiday Bows Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink twice using my MISTI for prefect alignment. The second layer is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink and they are cut out with the coordinating Dies. The two smaller bows are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the large one with Foam Tape. For some added sparkle I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the bows. I love the 3D look that you get with the cool Holiday Bows and they will work great for birthday’s too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to to stop by the blog and take a look at the rest of the Design Team’s cards and add yours to the gallery! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a fun Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 420 & The Store!

What a lovely and fun weekend I had! Yesterday I went into Manhattan to meet up with my friend Kim, she is staying at a friend’s watching their dogs for the weekend on West 92nd Street. We left the apartment and headed out to have breakfast at Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table on 93rd and Columbus and what a delicious breakfast it was! From there we walked over to 96th and Broadway, there was a street fair going for 10 blocks so we walked though and came across this stall selling these really cool t-shirts! After speaking to the owner, Brant Fuse, we bought four between the two of us. They are really cool and you should go and check out his web site HERE. I got the Shoyu T-Rex, he’s one mean looking bottle of Soy Sauce! After we walked the length of the fair we stopped back at the apartment before heading down to 48th Street to see A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. What a funny and well acted performance that was! Here are Kim and I outside the theater…

How to Succeed in Love and Murder

And here is a shot of the stage, we had really great seats!

How to Succeed Stage

After the play I headed back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. Like I said an excellent weekend indeed! Today I’m watching Scrap-A-Latte for Renee while she takes a long needed break and visits her wonderful son Nicholas for his birthday! Happy Birthday Nic! 🙂

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Mojo Monday! The fabulous Julee has given us another great sketch…

Mojo420

I used another recently acquired set that I have been dying to try out! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a wide strip of that fun shiny black paper and a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down the front of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb using the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. All of the images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Exclusive Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped directly on the tag in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and Olive Ink. I stamped the flowers on another piece of Solar White 80lb in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Schoolhouse Red Ink. The flowers are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I threaded a pice of “Vintage” Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and then I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Cord around it. The tag is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I flagged the right side before adhering it to the tag with a thin strip of Foam Tape. I’m really loving the layered stamps and these ones are great! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Click on over the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Mojo Monday 419

Another beautiful Sunday here on Long Island! I spent a lot of time in the Stampin’ Galley yesterday working on projects. In the afternoon I decided that it was time that I learned how to change my oil in my car. My dad usually does it but I should be able to so that’s just what I did! Felt pretty good to be able to do it too! After the car was finished I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some card stock and I took Winston with me. He loves the convertible, no need for him to hang his head out of the window!

Winston Convertible

When I got back I went to Applebee’s with Mum and Dad for dinner. What did you all do yesterday?!

It’s the start of another week and that means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…

I picked up this really cool paper pad from Michaels a few days ago and have been meaning to use it so I did on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Basic Grey that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Feathers Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The gold and shiny black paper is from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Circles to cut them out, rounded the corners on the square with my Corner Chomper and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. A piece of the gold glitter paper from the same pad is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die along with a piece of Black Fun Foam. I adhered them to each other and to another piece of the shiny black with Multi-Matte Medium. To finish the card I adhered a few Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins to the circle with more Multi-Matte Medium. I love the matte gold and shiny black paper! The black looks a little like patent leather! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Happy Monday! I can say that for now, no work for me! I know that I shouldn’t be happy about that, but good things are ahead! I have to run up to the office this morning and get my things. I will miss the people form my old department and my friends. Everything happens for a reason right?! I had a nice day at The Ink Pad with Anna yesterday. It was also a sunny day, a nice change from the rain that we have been having. I drove in and got a space not too far away. When I parked I noticed this Fish & Chips Shop which I think has the best name ever!

A Salt & Battery

Really great name don’t you think?! The day moved along, we were pretty busy. I’m back there on Wednesday. I did get to run down to the basement which you get through by going into the building behind the store and they have one of those really cool old elevators…

Old Elevator

Pretty cool! That has been there for a long time! It took me a little bit longer than I thought to get home. I stopped and saw Mum and Dad and had a quick sandwich. Heather called when I got back to my house so I went over to see her for a bit and then by the time I got home it was time for bed. Another really good Sunday!

Continuing on with his daily post Michael has a really cool card with some paper-piecing on it! Go over and check it out by clicking HERE!

Now you know what Monday means… it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

I played with some Lawn Fawn again, but this time it’s an exclusive set that you can’t get anymore from last year. Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Smoky Slate for the background. I wrapped some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around it and tied it in a bow, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The panel in the middle is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink. It’s cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card, once and then I placed it over the already cut lines to make it a little smaller. A piece of Vellum has the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp with Lawn Fawn Feathered Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the background with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The two birds and feathers are also from the Feathered Friends Set, both stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored them in with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Dies to cut out the birds and the feathers are fussy cut with Paper Snips. I tucked the feathers behind the panel and the circle is adhered with SNAIL. Finally two hearts from the Woodgrain Set are colored in with Copics and also cut out with Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape holds them in place. Aren’t those two little birds just the cutest?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Another weekend for the books. Went by too fast as it always does. I had a relaxing day. Heather came by and we went out and got some bagels for breakfast. We stopped back at my house and then stopped by my parents so she could say hello to my Aunt and Uncle. After that Heather went to get a manicure so I went to A.C. Moore to see if the had some Iridescent Medium that I wanted to try, it’s supposed to be a bit like Wink of Stella, I’ll let you know! From there we went to Target and picked up some groceries. Heather headed home and I worked on a few projects and finished up my laundry. Later on I ran to Michaels and picked up some goodies and then stopped by my parent’s again to see my Aunt and Uncle. Around 11:40 I went out to look at the Super Moon. Not a bad Sunday. Here is a picture of the moon from earlier in the evening…

And my vacation is officially over and we shall resume our normal week of wishing it was Friday! LOL! I’m back to work today and not looking forward to my email at all. It will be good to see my work peeps but I honestly I haven’t missed it! I had a more productive day yesterday, no where near back to normal but better. I dropped off my cards for class yesterday and will post them here on Saturday. There are 26 in this month’s class between Thursday and Friday! Oh wait, that’s a lot of cutting! LOL! I would say that it will be good to get back into the day to day but I would be lying! I did get to speak to Michael for bit last night, told him all about vacation and got caught up, that was nice! Here’s to hoping today goes fast and smooth!

This was one of those that as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do! A nice change from the past few days! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla with a strip of Gold Foil Sheet along the bottom. The two “rings” are also Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Circles Framelits and adhered with 2-Way Glue. I used them again to cut out a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper. My congratulations is cut out from a piece of Basic Black with the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Circle Die and adhered to the DSP with more 2-Way Glue. I then adhered some Fun Foam with SNAIL to the back to hold the circle to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Apothecary Labels and it’s adhered with some Foam Tape. Happy Monday! I can’t believe that we leave in two days to go home. It’ has been such a great vacation I don’t want it to end! Yesterday we went to my Uncle Steve’s in Harrow for a BBQ and that was really nice! After the BBQ Brian and I headed out to meet Tracey and Jules to go to another BBQ at Tracey’s friend Tracey’s house. That was a good time too! Tracey had to stay in London at her mum’s last night so we hung out with Jules and watched some TV before calling it a night. I’m going into London today to have coffee with my friend Leslie, can’t wait to meet her!

Monday, a no work Monday too! Yesterday was a quiet day. I puttered around the house in the morning and then went over to Brian and Kim’s to fill out the advance passenger info for the flight to London. We also booked our tickets on the Eurostar to go to Paris overnight. I have never been there so that should be fun! After we ran to the Apple Store, BJ’s and BestBuy and then had dinner. I came home and watched some TV, I have a lot to do and not much motivation. I hate when that happens.

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

This card contains goodies from lots of different places! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Mint Macaroon that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The panel is a piece of paper from a Heidi Swapp 6×6 Paper Pad and I backed it with a piece of Rose Red. A strip of Basic Black goes down the left side. They are adhered to each other with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the panel.
