Paper Players 352 & Freshly Made Sketches 296

Well, I did get some of the stuff done that I wanted to finish yesterday. I also had to take a ride over to Heather’s job to drop something off to her. When I got back home I went next door to do some laundry and locked myself out of the house! Don’t know how that happened! Around 5:30 I headed over to Heather’s, she made me dinner and we ran some errands. A good way to end the evening! This morning more stuff that needs to get done will get done! 😀

I have a double challenge card for you today! That almost never happens but I wanted to get my Paper Players card in before it was too late and I had an idea for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge so I combined them! Here are the two challenges…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the My Favorite Things Romantic Script Background in Smoke Ink onto another piece of Solar White 110lb and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The bird is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped him in Thistle, Hot Mama and Grape Juice, his feet in Khaki, and then used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut him out. His feet are adhered with E-Z Runner and the body with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. It’s adhered in the lower right corner and the card is done! I love that scripty background and the fun bird! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Paper Players and Freshly Made Sketches Challenges! Thank you for coming by! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

NYC Coffee Ornament

Yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! There was a steady flow of customers all day and one of them just happened to be Julianne Moore! Talk about nice! Such a sweet lady and just as amazing in person as she is in the movies! Anna and I had some Hummus & Pita Co. for lunch and it was quite tasty, for dessert some Starbucks! Still loving that Holiday Spice Flat White! I also got myself a Starbucks Christmas ornament, the black and gold one! See isn’t it nice…

Starbucks Balck & Gold Holiday 2015

I love the NYC on it! I also managed to stay awake on the train on the way home and got off at my correct stop! Upon arriving home I had a little crafty time and then watched some TV. I’m back in the city again tomorrow to see my friend Isabella for a bit!

My crafty project for last night was another ornament, I know, I’m a little obsessed, but they are so much fun to make! The backing for this one is Ivory 110lb Card Stock that I cut out with the Papertrey Ink Basic Backer Die. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Nested Circles Craft Dies. The skyline is cut form Black 110lb Card Stock with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die and then again with the Nested Circle for a perfect fit. The greeting and coffee cups are form the Lawn Fawn Love You A Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped heat embossed the greeting with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum also cut out with the Nested Circles and the coffee cups are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added some Uni-Ball Gold Gel Pen and Sakura Black Glaze Pen to the black cup and a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the red one. I adhered the greeting to the rest of the layers with Multi-Matte Medium and the cups are adhered with Foam Tape. A sprinkling of some Gold Chunky Glitter before I used more Multi-Matte Medium to adhere the ornament half and it’s finished! Here’s a little peek at what it looks like before it’s all put together!

It’s so much fun to put together all of the things for the ornaments and they really do look so cool hanging on the tree! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament for today! Thank you so very much for your visit today! Have an awesome Tuesday everyone! 🙂

Merry City Shadow Box

It was a busy day at The Ink Pad yesterday! It was also Anna’s Birthday and I didn’t find out until I was standing on the platform waiting for the train! So a belated Happy Birthday to Anna! One of the best parts about hanging out at The Ink Pad is all of the interesting people that you get to meet! I guess I’m a people person because I talk to everyone! I even got to call Grace and let her know that her things that she ordered were ready to ship out! When I got home I had a quick bite to eat and then decided that it was time to get this project out of my head. It took a little longer than I thought it would, about 2 1/2 hours! It was also very hard to photograph! I have been trying since last night to get a good picture and I still don’t love the way it looks. It’s so much cooler in person! It’s my project to share with you today!

Coincidentally, I checked the Paper Players to see what this week’s challenge is and it’s Let it Snow! Well I guess that my project works for that! Yay! Here is this week’s Paper Players challenge badge…

Paper Players #274

I used to do a lot of 3D projects and I haven’t done one in a while. I had an idea for a shadow box using the city scene die and some Acetate so here goes! The base of the box is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut it to measure 5 1/2″ wide by 11″ long. It’s scored at 1″, 5″, 6″ and 10″. Two more 5″ pieces are scored at 1/4″ and 4 3/4″ or there about! I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle to cut out the windows in all three of the pieces. The background is a piece of Basic Gray that I cut out using the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Lawn Cut. My city silhouette is cut from Black 110lb Card Stock using the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die and it’s scored along the bottom at 1/4″ too. The white pieces with the windows cut out have Acetate adhered to the back. On the inside window I adhered some more White 110lb that I cut out using the Lawn Fawn Small Snowflakes Lawn Cuts using Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The greeting is cut from a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Die and also adhered with Spray Adhesive to the outside window. To assemble the box I used Scor-Tape on all of the folded edges and adhered them one by one. Trust me, it looks so much cooler in person! I think that I should have either made the city scape lighter or the background! Anyway, I hope that you enjoy today’s project and that you are inspired to try something a little different! Thank you so much for sending some of your Sunday with me! Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

I had a pleasant Saturday! My trip to pick Danielle up at the airport was quite nice. There was the Mets game at Citi Field but not until later in the day so I had a nice quick ride there and back! I came home and did some laundry and then headed over to see my friend Louis. We ran to Lowes and then went to a Greek place in Massapequa Park for dinner. I had a salad with some Gyro meat on it and it was delicious! This morning I’m off to Manhattan and I’m driving in so I can help Anna take some stuff over to the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair. It’s also the NY Marathon today, hopefully the traffic won’t be too bad! Fingers crossed! 🙂

My card that I have for you today would have made a better post for yesterday seeing as it was Halloween! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the background right onto the card front using the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Ledger Script Stamp and some Memento Tuxedo Black. My sugar skull is from the Simon Says Stamp Sugar Skulls Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb, cut out with the coordinating die and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I used a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and cut out a pair of glasses using the My Favorite Things Die-namics Geek is Chic Dies and they are adhered to the skull with teeny tiny pieces of Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in white on black and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A generous scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and Silver Sequins complete the card. I do love that Sugar Skull and he looks quite smart with his glasses! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for your visit and enjoy your Sunday! 🙂

Manhattan Wishing Night Skyline

What a lovely day I had yesterday in Manhattan with Grace and her two daughters Toni-Lynn and Tracy! I met up with them at The Ink Pad and from there we headed over to Elephant & Castle for lunch. It was so nice to get know them, especially after speaking to Grace for all of these years on this blog! We finished lunch and Grace wanted to do a little shopping at the store so we headed back. She picked up a few Lawn Fawn sets and we got to speak to Anna for a bit. Here are the four of us…

After we had finished at The Ink Pad we headed over to Chelsea Market and picked up some Fat Witch brownies. If you have never had them you need to make sure that you try them, they are delicious! From there we walked along the Hi-Line for a while. There are always new things to see along there. Here is a picture looking out between some buildings and if you look really closely in the middle you can see the Statue of Liberty…

The next two pictures are just some random art that is along the Hi-Line…

Hi-Line Kiss Rainbowe

Love that last one, it’s a redo of the famous Kiss picture of the Sailor and the Nurse!

So as you can see we had a very nice time yesterday and it was so great to get to meet Grace and her lovely daughters! I can’t wait to see them again!

I did pick up a few new goodies from The Ink Pad too and I used one of them to make today’s card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb and then took my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to create the night sky. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then die cut another piece of Solar White 80lb that I also blended with the same Distress Inks with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die and adhered that to next to the greeting with Multi-Matte Medium. SNAIL and Fun Foam adhere the skyline to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bermuda Blue and Marshmallow Sequins are adhered along the bottom of skyline for a little sparkle and complete the card! I absolutely love that NYC Skyline Die, fits right in with yesterday! I hope that you enjoyed today’s pictures and card! Thank you very much for visiting with me and I wish you all a super Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 207

And it’s Friday once again. The week moved by at a rapid pace but I did get some of my list done. Yesterday was beautiful once again and I took a ride with the top down over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off the cards for next week’s card class. After that I stopped by Brian and Kim’s and hung out there, had some dinner and then stopped back home before heading over to see Heather for a bit. Today I have a bunch of projects to get to and an appointment at the Apple Store to see about my terrible iPhone battery. Later in tonight I’m going out to dinner with Bill, Anthony and Marissa, that should be fun and a nice way to end a Friday!

Today I’m playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 207

A few fun panels! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Very Vanilla. I took two pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and backed them Black Card Stock. They are adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL with another piece of Black to complete the panels. The dies that I have from My Favorite Things Die-namics called Geek is Chic matched the glasses in the paper so I cut out a few from Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Blushing Bride and Gold Foil Sheet. They are adhered to the plain black panel with 2-Way Glue. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Gold Sequins finish the card. I love that paper with all of the glasses and the fact that the dies match so well is a neat bonus! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me today! I wish you all an awesome Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 200!

Hey all! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous here lately but we are supposed to have some rain over the next few days. I guess that we are due. My off-site visit yesterday for work was actually not too bad and I have another one today. Let’s hope that one goes just as well! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael. He was doing another one of his baby book classes and the ladies just love them! After we closed we headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and then stopped at my house for a bit. Taylor was here when we got home, which is nice because I haven’t seen much of her lately. My brother, Erika and Daniel came home late last night and my mum text me to tell me that Daniel pointed to my house when they were leaving and he said “Uncle Justin’s house”! My little buddy is back and I can’t wait to see him!

Today’s card is for a very special challenge! Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th one! WOW! That’s a lot of sketches…

Freshly Made Sketches 200

A super simple one too! I have been playing along since sketch #38! I decided that I would challenge myself to make my card while I was at Scrap-A-Latte, step a little outside of my comfort zone! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of PaperCuts Pink Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of PinkFresh Studios Happy Things 12×12 Paper. I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Chevron Border Die to cut out a darker pink piece of card Stock to cover the top of the patterned paper. My love is cut from the same dark pink and some black with the Carta Bella Loves Dies, I adhered them to each other, a little offset, and then to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Three hearts are also cut out from the dark pink using the heart from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. I covered them with some Cotton Candy Stickles. When I got home I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins and some My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing Enamel Dots on the top to give it a little more oomph! I love that PinkFresh Studios Paper, it’s so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th challenge! Thank you for paying me a visit today. I wish you all a very happy Thursday! 🙂

Paper Players 254

Today is my Friday! Woo hoo! I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte for Michael’s Sten-Doodle class tonight and my friend Heather is going to pick up Maggie from the airport! Maggie will be here though Sunday! Yay!! We are going to have a great time! I’m working on our itinerary for the next few days and I spoke to Maggie last night. She is super excited to be coming and I can’t wait for her to get here! She is very excited to meet Michael too! It’s going to be a good time!

Today I have a fun card for you for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Laurie…

Paper Players #254

I have had the stamp set that goes with the cool glasses die and have been dying to use it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I stamped the glasses from the My Favorite Things Geek is Chic Photopolymer Stamp Set in So Saffron and Smoky Slate on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb in a repeating pattern. The panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A piece of Vellum Card Stock is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. I cut out the glasses from a piece of Basic Black twice using the Die-namics Geek is Chic Dies and adhered them on top of one another with Ranger Multi-Purpose Glue. My greeting is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto the Vellum. The glasses are then adhered to the vellum and the Vellum to the card with more Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the glasses and the greeting is just too cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for spending some time with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday my friends! 🙂
