Freshly Made Sketches 205

Another busy day at the office. The weather here has been really nice though, in the 70’s and sunny. Sort of the same as it was when I was in London! After work I went over to Scrap-A-Latte and did my cutting for card class. I can’t wait to post the cards on Saturday so you can see them! I love them! LOL! When I got home I had a sandwich and then made my card for today. A relatively quiet evening.

And that card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted to use a cool new die that I recently acquired! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flagged a piece of My Minds Eye Christmas on Market Street Vellum and adhered it to the card. Next up is the Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Ornament Die cut from a piece of Cherry Cobbler with a little SNAIL at the top to hold it in place. Finally a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper is adhered across the top. A quick and simple Christmas card but that die makes it look amazing! Pink Feathers Happy Day

The lack of motivation is real! It took me all day yesterday to make my cards for card class and one more. I guess that I’m suffering from PVD, Post Vacation Depression! I need to get out today and do some stuff, anything! LOL! I’ll go by Scrap-A-Latte and drop off the cards and then maybe take a drive somewhere, that helps to clear the mind sometimes.

The other card that I made last night is a just for fun one. I always find it funny that people think that a birthday card actually has to say happy birthday on the outside when there are so many other greetings that work! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I ran a strip of My Minds Eye My Story Washi Tape down the left side of the card. Next up is a piece of My Minds Eye My Story 6×6 Paper with the bottom flagged. A circle of the same paper is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Dies to back my greeting which is from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink. My feathers and twigs are from the same set and are stamped in Teeny Bikini, Rosie Cheeks and Goldenlocks. They, along with the greeting, are cut out with the matching Happy Day Craft Dies. I adhered some Fun Foam that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits to the back of the stitched circle and greeting and the adhered everything to the card with SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Ballerina Pink Iridescent Sequins finish off the card. I think that Oh Happy Day works pretty well for a birthday, don’t you?! SIP Challenge 14 – A Sketch

A very good Tuesday to you! It’s my last day in England and it’s a little rainy today. I have a few last minute bits and pieces to pick up but I think that I can do that locally. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting my FaceBook friend Lesley! We went to the Crypt for a Latte and some cake and had a lovely time chatting. So much so we got a pot of tea and finished that too! I love when I get to meet people in person and Lesley is just lovely! After that Brian and I went to Leister Square and picked up some souvenirs and then stopped by my Uncle’s before having some wood fire pizza for dinner. On to the station after that to make our way back home. A very nice day indeed! Here are some photos from yesterday!

If it’s Tuesday then it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this time it’s a sketch from me…

I had fun playing with a new stamp set and did some watercoloring too! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered with a piece of paper from the My Minds Eye Necessities Wood Paper Pad. The panel on the left is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woven 3D Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Night of Navy and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The main panel is a piece of Night of Navy backed with some Solar White 80lb. My greeting and flowers are from the Clearly Besotted Fairytale Ending Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I did the same with the flowers but on Canson Watercolor Paper and then cut them out with the matching dies. The flowers are colored in Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and a Water Brush. I adhered the flowers to the panel with some SNAIL and then the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I love those flowers, especially watercolored. Fab Friday 71

Hello my friends and welcome to Friday! My other visit to the off-site location for work yesterday was a good one. I got a lot accomplished the rest of the day too. After dinner I came home and Skyped with Andrea for a bit and worked on some projects. Taylor stopped by and we watched some of Enemy of the State, still a good movie after all of theses years. The rest of the evening was pretty quiet. Tonight Michael is going to make dinner, I’m looking forward to that! The weekend, who knows! I do have to share a picture of little Daniel from the wedding that he went to in the Dominican Republic. He really needs to be in Gap ads!

Another good thing about this Friday, it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge…

It’s too early for such fall colors! LOL! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flagged two pieces of paper, one from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack and another from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. The larger flag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Blackberry Bliss is also flagged and adhered to the large flag with Foam Tape. The greeting and stamped image are from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set, the image is stamped in Delightful Dijon and the greeting in Tangelo Twist and Blackberry Bliss. I used the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits to cut out the greeting and they are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A piece of Hemptique Harvest Hemp Cord is tied in a bow around the Blackberry Bliss piece and a few My Minds Eye Wicked Enamel Dots are adhered under the greeting. A fun simple card just because! Freshly Made Sketches 200!

Hey all! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous here lately but we are supposed to have some rain over the next few days. I guess that we are due. My off-site visit yesterday for work was actually not too bad and I have another one today. Let’s hope that one goes just as well! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael. He was doing another one of his baby book classes and the ladies just love them! After we closed we headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and then stopped at my house for a bit. Taylor was here when we got home, which is nice because I haven’t seen much of her lately. My brother, Erika and Daniel came home late last night and my mum text me to tell me that Daniel pointed to my house when they were leaving and he said “Uncle Justin’s house”! My little buddy is back and I can’t wait to see him!

Today’s card is for a very special challenge! Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th one! WOW! That’s a lot of sketches…

A super simple one too! I have been playing along since sketch #38! I decided that I would challenge myself to make my card while I was at Scrap-A-Latte, step a little outside of my comfort zone! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of PaperCuts Pink Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of PinkFresh Studios Happy Things 12×12 Paper. I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Chevron Border Die to cut out a darker pink piece of card Stock to cover the top of the patterned paper. My love is cut from the same dark pink and some black with the Carta Bella Loves Dies, I adhered them to each other, a little offset, and then to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Three hearts are also cut out from the dark pink using the heart from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. I covered them with some Cotton Candy Stickles. When I got home I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins and some My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing Enamel Dots on the top to give it a little more oomph! I love that PinkFresh Studios Paper, it’s so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th challenge! Thank you for paying me a visit today. Mojo Monday 409

Seeing as I got such a late start yesterday there isn’t much to report on today. I had a nice relaxing day yesterday. I made a few cards and watched Now You See Me for like the fourth time. Sometimes even I need a “veg” day! I managed to get the laundry done and straighten up a bit too so it wasn’t a total day of nothing but it did contain enough nothing to make me happy!

While Monday’s aren’t my favorite day of the week it does mean that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch and I do love those…

I got to use one of my favorite stamp sets along with some paper that I got whole I was in Lancaster that I think goes great with it! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 #HS01060 (no name?!) Paper Pad. I stamped the notebook sheet using the Clearly Besotted Just a Note Photopolymer Stamp in Mint Macaroon. The greeting and flower along with the leaves are from the Clearly Besotted Sketched Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Blushing Bride, the leaves in Mint Macaroon and the flower is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Vellum. The leaves and the flower are cut out with the coordinating dies. I flagged a strip of Blushing Bride and adhered that to the notebook layer. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flower with 2-Way Glue. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas Enamel Dots complete the card. I love the colors in the paper and I think they go so well with Mint Macaroon and Blushing Bride!
