Birthday Punch Out Card

Good morning everyone. I hope that all is well with you. I’m doing pretty good, loving the mild winter! For today’s card I got inspiration from Becky from Inking Idaho again (http://www.inkingidaho.blogspot.com/). I have seen this type of card elsewhere too so I had to make one. I used Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride Card Stock. I ran the Whisper White throughout the Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I took the Blossom Punch and punched out most of the flower from the left side. I stamped an image in Blushing Bride, from the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, and punched out another flower in Blushing Bride. Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect positioning, I stamped another flower in Blushing Bride on the card base through the punch out. The leaves are made using the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and then punching out two leaves from each circle. The greeting is form one of the FREE sets that you can get during Sale-A-Bration, Elementary Elegance. I used the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch to punch it out and the mounted it on some Pear Pizzaz punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The flower and the greeting are popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Bitty Buttons tied with thread and adhered with Mini Glue Dots finish the card. I hope that you enjoyed pink card number 2! Thanks so much for visiting!

Coffee Cup Valentine Slide Up

Good morning peeps! I hope that everyone is enjoying the weekend. It’s nice and sunny here on Long Island today. I have little Abbygail’s 1st birthday party later on. I made the invitations for the party and you can see them here: http://jkcards.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/abbys-first-birthday/. I love looking at all of the other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator blogs and the great ideas that they have. Today’s card was inspired by Becky over at Inking Idaho (http://www.inkingidaho.blogspot.com/). I used some Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Real Red Card Stock. The base of the card is made by cutting a piece of card stock to 4″ x 10″ and scoring it at 5″. You then put it in your paper cutter and measure in on the closed end 1/2″ and cut up to the open end on a diagonal on both sides. I adhered the two sides together with some Sticky Strip and then took some Crumb Cake cut to 4″ x 2″ and ran it through the Paper Crimper. It was then adhered to the front of the card about 1 1/2″ from the bottom and the excess was trimmed off. The lid is made using a piece of card stock that is 4 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ the 1/4″  at the top is trimmed off the long way and the corners are rounded with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. The 1/4″ strip is adhered to the middle to give it the coffee cup lid look. A piece of Early Espresso Card Stock cut to 3″ x 5″ and angled the same way as the “cup” was adhered to the back of the lid and slid inside. The heart from the P.S. I Love You Stamp Set was stamped in Real Red Ink and then I used the Hearts Collection Framelits to cut it out. Pairing it with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit from the Occasions Mini with Real Red Card Stock and some Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon from the Clearance Rack (no longer available) to embellish the front. I am a big Starbucks fan so I love this card. You could adhere some Whisper White to the Early Espresso so you could write on the inside or leave it as is and just adhere a gift card to it! Thank so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Grammy’s 94th Birthday

Good morning all. The weekend is here! I hope you are all doing some fun stuff. I’m going to a Chinese New Year party later on tonight, that should be fun! This year marks my Grandmother’s 94th Birthday! She lives in Pennsylvania and I have fond memories of all of the time I spent there as a child. She loves flowers and had some of the nicest ones in her gardens that I have ever seen. There used to be poppies all along the fence. That’s what inspired the color combination for her card. I’m loving the new Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog along with the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set where the sentiment and bird come from. You can get these items and many more for FREE with every $50 you spend form the Occasions Mini or Idea Book & Catalog. The beautiful flower is from the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and is punched out with the Blossom Punch, both items can be found in the 2012 Occasions Mini. I stamped it in Poppy Parade and backed it with some Poppy Parade Card Stock punched out with the same punch. I have wanted to get the Family Reunion Stamp Set from the Idea Book & Catalog for a while and I’m glad that I did. It’s nice to be able to put Grandma on the card along with Happy Birthday. I punched it out with the Oval Punch and mounted it on Poppy Parade Card Stock punched out with the Scalloped Oval Punch. The frame around the sentiment was a great tip from Mary Fish (www.stampinpretty.com). I cut out the label with the Framelits Label Collection Dies and then used the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that fits perfectly inside the label. It gives it great detail and was super easy. A little bit of 1/2″ Stitched Poly Ribbon in Poppy Parade (thanks Nina Dee!) across the top of the Very Vanilla Card Stock that was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder give a nice separation from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper. I love the way the card came out and hope you enjoyed it too. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Paper Players Challenge #79

Good morning every one. It’s a perfect stay inside and craft day here on Long Island. It’s raining and I think it’s supposed to rain all day. I’m a little late with my Paper Players Challenge this week, but I will get it in just in time. This week they ask you to do a clean and simple card with a tag.

I decided to use three tags. They look like they aren’t spaced equally and I did that on purpose. I wanted a little pause after you read Inspire and Create… then Dream. The words are from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini. They are stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock and punched out with the Extra Large Tag Punch. I rubbed the edges against the Island Indigo stamp pad for a little definition. The flower is from the For All You Do Stamp Set that I got when I first signed up to be a Demonstrator. I haven’t used it in a while and forgot that I had it. It’s perfect for when you need something tall and slim for the side of a card. The images are stamped in Island Indigo and Crumb Cake. A piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder gives it a nice background and looks great mounted on the Island Indigo card base. Some 3/16 Metallic Brads in gold finish off the card. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and as always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Sale-A-Bration Workshop

Good Thursday morning to everyone! One more day until the weekend! A wonderful friend of mine, Isabella, hosted a Workshop at her beautiful apartment in Manhattan yesterday. She had eight of her friends join us for a fun filled afternoon of card making. We made three cards, a Valentine’s Day card, a mini Valentine’s Day card and a Birthday gift tag. The Valentine’s Day card uses Pretty In Pink and Whisper White Card Stock and some Riding Hood Red Ink. The cupid is from the P.S. I Love You Stamp Set and was punched out using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and then it was backed by the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle and popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing folder makes for a fun backdrop and we used the Scallop Edge Punch for a little added detail. The little hearts are from the Candy Conversations Wood Mount Stamp and they were punched out using the Small Heart Punch. I find that using the Word Window Punch to punch out your sentiment makes lining it up a little easier and it fits perfectly on the Modern Label Punch.

For the mini Valentine’s Card we used some Naturals White and Riding Hood Red Card Stock with some Elegant Eggplant Ink. I love the way the Petal Card Punch looks like a tiny envelope if you leave one of the flaps open. The hearts are from the I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set and they were also punched out using the Small Heart Punch. For the final touch, the sentiment is from the P.S. I Love You stamp Set.

Last but not least is the Birthday tag. A nice quick project using Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla Card Stock, some Poppy Parade Ink and a small piece of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. The cute little birthday bear os from the Host(ess) Set Tagtastic. We used to the Decorative Label Punch to punch it out and it’s finished!

Everyone had a great time and it was so nice to meet everyone. I hope that we can do it again soon!

Mojo 225

Good Wednesday morning to everyone! I have to say that I am really liking the winter that we are having in NY. It was 56 degrees here yesterday! I’m not a fan of the cold so it works for me. This weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge is kind of neat. It is made up of four short rectangles and one long rectangle in the middle…

I immediately knew what I wanted to do. I bought the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die (Item # 124587) from The Holiday Mini Catalog and I haven’t used it very much. I really should use it more because you can do some neat things with it. It’s a carry over item so you can still order it. I used just two colors, Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla Card Stock and Blushing Bride Ink. I cut out four of the smallest doors from the Peekaboo Frames Die and mounted them on 1 3/4″ Vary Vanilla Squares. Then I punched out some more squares with the 1″ Square Punch and stamped the smallest hearts from the Take It To Heart Stamp Set. The sentiment on the outside and the love you on the inside of all of the doors is from the P.S. I Love You Stamp Set. Both of those sets are in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. The background was embossed with the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 with the Big Shot. For the perfect finishing touch a little strip of Blushing Bride 3/8″ Pleated Satin Ribbon right across the middle. I’m not a huge ribbon fan but this is really beautiful. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you so much for stopping by!

Tea Shoppe Stay

Morning peeps! I hope that you all had a nice weekend. Mine was good, although it goes way too fast. For today’s card I was inspired by Mary Fish (www.stampinpretty.com). She always has such clean modern designs. The card stock is Very Vanilla and Island Indigo. I stamped the three tea cups and sentiment from the Tea Shoppe Set in the Occasions Mini catalog and cut them out with my paper trimmer. I purposely made the slightly different sizes for a little added interest. The corners were then rounded with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder and mounted the on Island Indigo and I adhered them to the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder background with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon adds a nice touch across the card with the little bow. The shapes give it the modern feel but the texture in the background keeps it a little vintage. I hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Valentine’s Mini Card Box

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope that everyone had a great weekend and is enjoying today. I’m listening to Winston, my dog snore sleeping on the bed. 🙂 For today’s project I was inspired by my good friend Sandy’s Valentine’s box post earlier in the week (www.stampwithsandy.com). She is so talented and clever and the set that she designed is beautiful. Mine is a little less complicated and would work great for some Valentine’s for the kids. I used some Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla Card Stock, sounds like such a yummy combination! The box was made using Sandy’s tutorial with the Simply Scored. The top has a piece of Very Vanilla that I ran through the Big Shot using the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1. I’m really liking these for the subtle effect that they produce. The stamped heart is from the Take It To Heart Set in the Occasions Mini and was cut out using the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and mounted on a Chocolate Chip heart cut out the same way. The sentiment was punched out with the Word Window Punch and backed by another stamp from the P.S. I Love You set and then punched out with the Modern Label Punch. For the cards inside use stamps also from the P.S. I Love You set and were punched out with the 1 3/8″ and 1″ Circle Punches and popped up on a Stampin’ Dimensional. I ran some Cherry Cobbler through the Big Shot with the hearts from the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The Chocolate Chip heart was punched out with the Heart To Heart Punch. Some Mini Square Envelopes complete the project. Thanks for coming by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Send Me Soaring Birthday

Hello everyone. It’s Friday!! I hope that everybody had a good week and is all ready for the weekend. Today’s card is a birthday card for my brother. His birthday is Sunday but I know that he already got the card. Masculine birthday cards can be a little challenging. I try to keep the flowery stuff off the card but still make it fun. The Send Me Soaring Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini is great for all kinds of cards. I used some Baja Breeze Card Stock for the background. The clouds were stamped in Not Quite Navy Ink and the I used an eyeshadow applicator to color them in with some Whisper White Craft Ink. The kites are stamped in More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Not Quite Navy. I cut them out and then used some thin string for the kite string. I hid the ends behind the sentiment which is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Set. The Brother is from Family Reunion and both are stamped in Not Quite Navy. I think the card is masculine but still playful at the same time. I hope that like today’s card and thanks so much for stopping by!

Up In The Air Thanks & Sneak Peek

Good morning peeps. I hope everyone is having a good week. I keep checking Stampin’ Up!’s FaceBook page to see what’s going on in San Antonio, TX at Leadership. Oh how I would like to be there! Today’s card is a note card Thank You. I used some new paper (to me) that I got. It’s called Naturals White and I’m liking it! There are little flecks of fibers in the paper and it gives it that nice organic look. I used the Up In The Air Host(ess) Set from the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog. It really is one of my new favorite sets. The image is stamped in Concord Crush and the I colored in the leaves with some Lucky Limeade Marker. The greeting is from the set Outlined Occasions from the new Sale-A-Bration Catalog out next week. It’s FREE with any $50 purchase. It’s just one of the great items that you can get for free with every $50 you spend. I wanted to color in the stars and realized that I didn’t have a Concord Crush Marker. Not to worry, I used a Blender Pen and the ink pad! It works great for coloring in a small area. For the finishing touch, some Lucky Limeade Organza Ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack also from Sale-A-Bration. A small dab of Crystal Effects in the middle of the bow makes sure that it won’t come undone. I hope you enjoyed today’s card and as always thanks so much for stopping by!
