Paper Craft Crew 178

Happy Hump Day peeps! I enjoyed my day yesterday! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then around 10:40 I headed over to see my friend Sue. We got caught up and then worked on some Easy stuff before heading to our favorite place for lunch, Panera! I had my usual Tomato Soup and a Grilled Cheese, YUM! After that we ran back to my house to pick up some more stuff for Etsy. I showed Sue some of the Taylor Swift Concert on Apple Music, she is a big Taylor Swift fan and loved it. I came back home around 5:00 and got my stuff together so I could head into Manhattan. When I got to the train station I found out that the trains were not going into Penn Station but terminating at Jamaica so I had to take the E and then F Subways to get over to Kim. We went to Baker Street for dinner and had delicious salads and the came back to the apartment and I set up some of her new electronic goodies! This morning I’m waiting for the TimeWarner man and then I’ll stop by and see Isabella before heading back out to the Island.

Hmm… Wednesday, that means that today is another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS178 DT Sketch 1-20-2016

Nice and simple! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Crd Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For my background I stamped the Hero Arts Pearl Strings Bold Prints Background Stamp that Renee brought me back from CHA in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink on Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam SNAIL. Across the middle is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and Black 110lb. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the Thoughtful in Simon Says Stamp Scuba Ink using my MISTI so I could double stamp it to make sure that it was nice and dark! It’s cut out with the Coordinating Being Classy Dies and adhered to the strips with Multi-Matte Medium. The so is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black directly onto the background. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Heart Stackables Lawn Cuts with a small red punched heart in the middle. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine tied in a bow is then adhered to the small heart with a Mini Glue Dot. I love that nice bold greeting paired with the cool background! I hope that you enjoy my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for spending some time with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Again… way too cold for me! It was incredibly windy here yesterday, like gale force wind which made it even colder! Nope, not for me! I was at Scrap-A-Latte all day and I spoke to Michael, FaceTimed with Andrea, got a visit from my friend Paul, I even got to see Angie before her class. When I got to my parent’s Daniel was still there so I got see him for a bit and had some dinner. I came home and made a quick card before heading over to Heather’s to help her with some computer stuff. We did a quick Target run and watched some YouTube videos while waited for the Mac to update. A very good day indeed!

My quick card that I made is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS177 DT Sketch 1-13-2016

I mentioned that I got some new goodies from Stampin’ Up! and they helped me create today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. Across that is a piece of Basic Black that I embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting and flower are from the Picture Perfect Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb and flagged the ends before adhering it to the black with Foam Tape. The rose is stamped in Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush and Smoky Slate, the leaves in Pear Pizzaz, Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow, they are all cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and one big Sparkling Clear Sequin complete the card. I love the way all of the black really makes the rose pop! I also love the shading that the Smoky Slate gives to the rose! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Don’t forget to check out the blog and see what the rest of the Team has done! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a wicked Wednesday! 🙂

I am so not enjoying this colder weather! It was 14 degrees this morning, that’s just not necessary! I thought that my favorite feature of my car was the convertible part but the heated seats are running a close second! How many more days until Spring?! I had a somewhat productive day, I crafted and looked into finally updating my blog to the look that I actually moved it for over a year ago! Sometimes that backend stuff is a little complicated and you need to step away from it for a little… well… long time and go back and take another look! Hopefully by the end of the week the new look will be up barring any new snags! I got to see little Daniel for a bit too and Taylor graced me with her presence for a short visit! I ran out last night to get gas and it was far too cold for me to do anything else, I couldn’t wait to get back into the warm house! Today I’ll be going over to see my friend Sue! Love spending time with her!

My card for today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS176 DT Sketch 1-06-2016

I played with some more Concord & 9th goodies on today’s card, loving them! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape and some Ruler Washi Tape. I used an old Stampin’ Up! sunburst stencil and some Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks Ink with a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the circle. It’s cut out with a Sizzix Circles Framelit and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The lightbulb and greeting are from the Concord & 9th Shine Brighter Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the light bulb on Vellum using Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and Ranger Liquid Platinum for the filament. The base is more Liquid Platinum embossed on Brushed Silver. They are both cut out with the coordinating Shine Brighter Dies. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere the bulb and SNAIL for the base. My greeting is heat embossed on a piece of Black 110lb with more Hero Arts White and also cut out with the Sizzix Circles. I added a few Wood Veneer Stars around the greeting and some Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. Yes, I am a little obsessed with that Black Glitter Washi and the sequins, well we all know how I feel about those! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Thank you for your visit, it’s always good to have you stop by! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 174

Yup, another nice day here again, in the 60’s! This is the best December ever! LOL! I was at Scrap-A-Latte for the day working on crafty things and cutting out some Lawn Fawn Santa Pillow Boxes for Renee. My friend Paul stopped by to visit for a bit, I FaceTimed with Andrea and got speak to Michael for a while! Angie got there around 5:00 to prep for her tags class and we chatted for a bit. Cara came by to refill her selection of chocolates that are for sale for the holidays. I had one of the chocolate covered mini Oreo packs and it was delicious! When I got home I had some dinner at the ‘rents and then came home and finished prepping for my tags class tonight at The Ink Pad. I’m off to Manhattan bright and early this morning to go and see my friend Isabella, have some lunch with Kim and then chill at her apartment until it’s time to head downtown for class. A busy but fun day ahead!

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS174 DT Sketch 12-16-2015

I love the Winter Alpaca Mini Set and Die from Lawn Fawn so I decided that he would be perfect for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set and some Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink to stamp the snow. A strip of the Lawn Fawn Let’s Bokeh in the Snow 6×6 Paper goes down the right side and is also used for my panel. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Winter Alpaca Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and then adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The Alpaca is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with My Copics. I cut him out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts Die and then adhered him with Foam Tape to a piece of Solar White 110lb that I stamped with the snowflakes from the same set again in Fog Ink. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the ends are flagged. Some Foam Tape adheres it and the snowflake that is cut out using the Lawn Fawn Small Snowflakes Lawn Cuts. A little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on his scarf and the card is done! Like I said, I love that little Alpaca and the greeting is really cute too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Hey there! Do you have all of your festivities planned for Thanksgiving? Will you be going Black Friday shopping until the wee hours of the morning? The answer to both of those questions for me would be no! LOL! I’m not a huge fan of lines and I’ll be going next door to Mum & Dad’s for Thanksgiving. Yesterday was a little colder here than it has been. I played in the new and improved Stampin’ Galley for a bit in the morning and then ran over to see Renee and Angie at Scrap-A-Latte for a little bit before coming back home and spending a little time with little Daniel. After dinner I headed over to Heather’s and we ran to Target and then back to her house for an early Thirsty Thursday! Brian and Patty even came! Always a good time when spent with my peeps! Today I’m going to try and get some serious creative time in and get some on-line things done! It’s supposed to be in the 60’s here on Thursday so I plan to enjoy some outdoor time then!

It’s mid-week so I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS172 DT Sketch 11-25-2015

I used a whole bunch of different products on today’s card! Love when you can mix things from different companies and have them play nicely together! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and it’s cut so that when it’s folded it makes a 4 1/4″ square card. My background consists of a piece of paper from an old My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas on the top and a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper across the bottom. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames Craft Dies to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. They are held together on the back with some tape and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The tree is form the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Leaf and Hero Arts White Unicorn Ink. I used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the frame with SNAIL. Finally, the greeting is from the same Hero Arts Set and is stamped in Green Leaf with the ends flagged and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I do love the bit of sparkle from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the eclectic mix of elements! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time to come by and visit with me today! Paper Craft Crew Theme 171

So how is your week going so far? Mine isn’t too bad, I actually got a lot accomplished around the house yesterday! Brian came over in the morning and helped me rearrange the furniture in my bedroom and it seems much bigger now! I dusted and vacuumed the whole house and then went on a purge spree! Love when I get in that mood! I like to keep boxes that things come in, not the best idea when you have a very small apartment! I threw out a ton of boxes and other crap that I no longer need! Feels so good! I had dinner with my parents, brother and Daniel. He was a bit cranky yesterday because he skipped his nap! I get like that too! LOL! Later on I ran up to Michael’s to get a few supplies and then came home and crafted for a bit before watching Limitless! Love that show!

Well, it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge and it’s a theme…

PCCCS171 DT Theme 11-18-2015

Thank you cards, you can never have enough of those! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I covered the entire front in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card that I stamped some leaves, well, a lot of leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Apple of My Pie Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and then heat embossed them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. They are colored in with my Paintbrush, some water and Yellow Ochre, Vermillion, Crimson Red and Deep Green Royal Langnickel Watercolors. Here is what the panel looks like by itself…

PCCCT171 Background-WM

After they dried I adhered the panel to the card with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. The greeting is also form the Apple of My Pie Stanp Set and is heat embossed with more Gold on Vellum. I cut the frame out with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cut from another piece of Kraft, heat embossed a additional greeting on the bottom of the frame and adhered the greeting to it. I decided at the last minute that I could make this a shaker card so I adhered 3M Foam Tape along the edges and filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Confetti. I do love that greeting and the way that you can still make out the leaves behind it and see the confetti! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Theme challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have done and enter your card in the gallery! Paper Craft Crew 169 – Sketch

Happy mid-week peeps! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday! A high of 72 degrees and nice and sunny! I wish the weather would stay like this! I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, with the top down in the car which was really nice! I helped her out with a few things and I’ll be watching the store for her today. She’s taking the day off to watch her grandkids! I think that they say that it’s supposed to be nice through the end of the week, hopefully another ride to the store today with the top down too!

Back on my Wednesday schedule and that means that it’s time for the Paper Craft Crew and this week we have a sketch…

PCCCS169 DT Sketch 11-04-2015

The sketch looked very birthday to me but I went with Holiday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and adhered to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Night of Navy 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. Next up I used a piece of Solar White 110lb with some Stick-It on the back along with the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die. It’s adhered to a piece of Night of Navy and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake, I adhered a piece of Vellum in the center and then used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Vellum and yes, I cut it out with my Paper Snips before using some more Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. For a little added sparkle some Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins are randomly added and that finishes the card! I love that Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and I’m always a fan of blues for the Holidays! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the team’s cards! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 168

Getting a late start to the day, oops! I was at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday watching the store for Renee. I did some cutting for her and then Andrew came up and had lunch with me. We had Blaze pizza, delicious as always! He helped me put up some new signs in the window and we listened to music and got caught up. Nice to spend some time with him! When I got home I had a sandwich and watched Limitless. After that it was time for bed. Today we are supposed to have rain and wind so it will be a good crafty day. I need one of those!

After a little hiatus I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew blog today for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS168 DT Sketch 10-28-2015

As soon as I saw the sketch I thought it would be a good one to use with my Hero Arts Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Vellum and rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. My greeting and all of the poinsettias and leaves are from the October My Monthly Hero Arts Kit. I heat embossed the greeting in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. Across the lower part is a piece of paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered that to the vellum and then hid some SNAIL and 2-Way Glue behind the strip and greeting to adhere the vellum to the card. A circle is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles from another piece of paper from the same 6×6 pad and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The poinsettias are stamped in one of the reds from the kit, the second layer is Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red and then the third layer is heat embossed with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. In the center I used some Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks. For the leaves I used the two greens that came in the kit and then cut out the poinsettias and leaves with the coordinating dies. A piece of Early Espresso is cut out with the Memory Box Branching Out Dies and adhered to the gold circle with SNAIL. The Poinsettias are adhered with Foam Tape and the leaves with SNAIL tucked under them. I used a little Glossy Accents in the centers of the poinsettias and the card is done! I’ve said it before, I love the stamp layering sets and this one is no exception! The stamps in the kit are great and the coordinating dies are a nice addition! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! It’s good to be back with all of the rest of the talented Design Team so go on over to the blog and check out their projects! Thanks very much for visiting with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Now that was a long day yesterday! It rained here in the morning and then was nice and sunny by the afternoon. I left work at 3:00 and got the 3:44 train into Manhattan. Not surprisingly it was late! LOL! I did get to Isabella’s around 5:00. She was going thorough a bunch of things that she had brought back from her mum’s house in Italy and gave me some of them. Really lovely things that are just wonderful. I’m going to use some of them in my pictures and I’ll let you know when I do. It was great to see her as always and I can’t thank her enough for the beautiful treasures that she gave me! Taylor picked me up from the train and by the time I got home it was 11:00. Like I said, a very long day, but a good one none the less!

Before I get to today’s post I have some extremely exciting news! In the morning, one of the first things that I do is go on Twitter. As I was scrolling through my feed this morning I see a Tweet from Alison Barclay congratulating me on my Mojo Monday Design Team appointment! What?!?! I almost dropped the phone! Sure enough I went to the Mojo Monday blog and there it is… my card from last week congratulating me! CRAZY?! I’m so very honored to have been chosen! I can’t believe it! Thank you Julee!! I can’t wait to get started! 😀

Now for today’s card, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS148 DT Sketch 6-10-2015

I used some new goodies from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece is Watermelon Wonder and on the right is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the candles from the Sprinkles of Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Watermelon Wonder on the right and then adhered a piece of Pool Party 1/4′ Cotton Ribbon around the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Some more is tied into a bow and adhered with a Glue Dot. A piece of Crushed Curry and a piece of Cucumber Crush are punched out with the Banner Punch and adhered under the ribbon with SNAIL. The square is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The cupcake is also from the Sprinkles of Life Set along with the greeting. I heat embossed the bottom in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Silver Foil Sheet and the top is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On onto some Vellum. I also heat embossed the sprinkles in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To get the puffy white look I used the Stampin’ Pierce Mat and the Simply Scored Stylus on the back in a circular motion. The bottom is adhered with SNAIL and the top with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. My happy birthday is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Cucumber Crush that I flagged the ends on and adhered with some Foam Tape. To finish off the card I adhered three Recollections Enamel Dots. I really do love that Sprinkles of Life Set and don’t forget that for each one sold Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the design team has done to inspire you! We are supposed to get a break from the rain today, they say some sun in the afternoon but then right back to the rain for Thursday and Friday. As long as it’s nice at the weekend! Today was dreary but you make the most of it right?! Work was a little busy but I still managed to get a bunch of things done. Dinner tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and beer battered french fries! YUM! After I came home and Skyped with Andrea and made a card using some new goodies that I recently acquired! I like when I can just sit down and play for a little while! Taylor came by and we ran to Target to get some soy milk and eggs, I also picked up some Twizzlers because, well, they make mouths happy! LOL! How is your week going?

Before I get to my card for today I wanted to share some cards that a friend of mine sent to me along with some goodies including some brochures on London! Her name is Nicole Watt, better known as the Pixel Maven! She is a very talented card maker and a whiz with computers! In my package was a cool little surprise. We lost the Color Coach in this year’s Catalog, not to worry, Nicole has an ingenious solution for us! She came up with her own color chart! You can see it by clicking here and heading over to her blog. She has it available as a download or you can purchase one of the handy cards! Speaking of cards, here are the two that she sent me…

NW Card JK

This one actually uses the placemat from the restaurant that we had lunch in while I was in Florida for Leadership in January!

And this one is just gorgeous! I love the watercoloring!! Thank you Nicole!!

Today it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge for this week…

I used a bunch of different goodies on my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. My panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay with some Vellum adhered behind the embellishments on top of it. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My three feathers are cut from Pool Party with the Feathers Framelits, I spattered them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Gold. They are adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana and adhered with more Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes the card. I love the blues and all of the different texture on the card!
