  • Paper Craft Crew #40 & Sneak Peek

Yeah, Wednesday! Halfway there to my Friday! How are you today? I’m pretty good. I went to my friends Brian & Kim’s house for dinner last night. We had vegetarian tacos that were yummy. I got to see the little angels too! It was a very nice day here yesterday and is supposed to be nice for the next ten days! Ahh, finally some warmer weather.

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Sketch #40

    PCCCS40 Sketch 5-01-2013

I’m having so much fun playing with my new goodies! I hope that you are enjoying your sneak peeks too! The base of my card is Pear Pizzaz and the background and the pieces of paper cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits are all from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack*. A Delicate Doily is behind the flower that is from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set*. The large flower is cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits and the center is punched out with the  1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The stem is stamped on the DSP in Pear Pizzaz and the butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set, stamped in Night of Navy and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. Some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and some Rhinestones finish off the card. Ahh… Wednesday, halfway there! How is your week going so far? Mine is pretty good, no complaints. It was a pretty nice day here yesterday, not too cold, not too hot. It sprinkled for a few minutes and then it was done. It is raining this morning but I don’t think it’s supposed to do it all day. I have a workshop tomorrow night with my friend Melissa. It will be a good time, a small crafty gathering. I’ll post the cards sometime in the future so you can see what we made. 🙂

On a fun note, a fellow demonstrator was inspired by the card that I made last week for Fab Friday. Erica Cerwin did a beautiful job on her card and was kind enough to mention me on her blog. You can see her post here and the card that I made here.

Today’s card – Paper Craft Crew Sketch 38…

    PCCCS038 Sketch 4-17-2013

I knew that when I saw it was going to keep the butterfly. The base of my card is Wisteria Wonder and the background is Daffodil Delight stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp inked in Daffodil Delight. The is a doily from the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and the rounded flag from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. The large flower is from the Floral Frames Collection Framelits and it’s embossed with the “Vintage” Vine Street Embossing Folder. A Beautiful Wings butterfly and a rolled paper rose give the card some dimension. The greeting is from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and some Itty Bitty Punch Pack flowers with Basic Jewels Pearls complete the card. I hope that you like my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Hop on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what my clever team mates have for you and upload a card of your own. Thanks for stopping in and have yourselves a sunny day!

Hello and thank you for stopping by today to see what I’m up to! It was absolutely gorgeous here on Long Island today, we reached 82 degrees! It is just a taste because tomorrow is supposed to be 72 and then back into the 50’s for a while. Myself and some friends went over to another friends for dinner last night. We had steak marinated in soy sauce, pineapple, ginger and brown sugar. I’m not a huge steak fan but it was delicious. After dinner Heather and I went to RedMango for some treats. They have a dark chocolate flavor that is thick and tasted like brownie batter, it was yummy! I can’t wait for the warm weather to be here for good!

Stampin’ Up! released a new Photopolymer Stamp Set today called Birthday Bombs Away! There are some great greeting and they will work well for any type of card. You can see them below or click here for a PDF of the flyer.

Well this week is moving right along! How is it going for you? Work is insanely busy for me and has been for a while. hopefully things will slow down soon. Today I am working from 8:30am until 11:00pm, that’s a long day! The weather was chilly and windy here again yesterday, it’s supposed to be cold until Thursday and then it’s supposed to finally warm up. Spring, not so far around here!

Today’ post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This week we have a nice sketch with the possibility for some layers…

    PCCCS036 Sketch 4-03-2013

I have been really into Pool Party lately, it is definitely one of my favorite colors. It works great as a neutral and looks nice with so many different colors or can easily stand on it’s own. For the base of my card I used Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background is a piece of Pool Party that is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The paper in the middle is from the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper Pack. A piece of Silver Glimmer Paper is on the left and I punched a piece of Pool Party with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack with a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle for the little flower. The main panel is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed it with a piece of Basic Gray. For the stamped image I choose one from the Circle Circus Stamp Set and stamped it in Pool Party and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. It’s mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I put a Basic Jewels Pearl in the center. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party. I use the Decorative Label Punch to punch it out and adhered it to the card under the main panel with some SNAIL. Three more pearls are adhered under the DSP on the left to finish off the card. I really love the colors and the glimmer paper gives it just the right amount of sparkle. I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge. Check out the other design team projects over at the blog and upload one of your cards for me to see. Thank you for taking some time to see what I’m up to and I hope you have a lovely day!

  • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 35

So here we are at Wednesday, half way there! Today I was Mr. Fix-It at work. My friend Lisa was having trouble getting her car started. I determined that it was the battery in her smart key and Toyota couldn’t fix it. My friend Anthony’s wheelchair wouldn’t work so I tinkered with that and fixed that. Finally my friend Danielle’s Nexus 7 wouldn’t turn on so I got that to work. I came home and played with MDS for a bit and made a card (wanted to make more but time just gets away!). All in all a good day. How was your day?

Wednesday means it’s Paper Craft Crew time. This week we have a sketch for you to play with…

    PCCCS035 3-27-2013 Sketch

I looked at the Parker’s Patterns DSP and the Spec-tacular stamp and decided to go with a retro vibe. The base of the card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Crumb Cake with the Woodgrain Background Stamp inked in Crumb Cake for the background. Two strips of Parker’s Patterns Designer Series Paper fill in the middle. The Spec-tacular Single Stamp is stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla. I colored in a pair of the glasses with the Silver Stampin’ Dazzle Marker and backed it with a piece of Not Quite Navy. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The button is a Silver Basics Designer Button. I punched a piece of Not Quite Navy with the 1/2″Circle Punch and a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack and adhered them  to the center of the button. Some Mini Glue Dots hold the button to the  card. The sentiment is form the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set, stamped in Not Quite Navy and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. For a little 60’s vibe I stamped the peace symbols from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set in Not Quite Navy and punched them out with a standard hole punch. Some more Mini Glue Dots hold them in place. I love the Spec-tacular Stamp and the colors and DSP do give it a bit of a retro feel. I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and check out the other designers projects and enter one of yours for me to take a peek at! Thanks for checking in and I hope that you have a nice day! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 34

Ahh, Thursday, I like you so much better than Monday! How are we all today? I’m good, looking forward to the weekend as always. Yesterday felt a little long but today will be a bit longer. I’m off to Manhattan after work, hopefully it will be finished raining/snowing/freezing by the time I head in. They had a derailment on the LIRR on Monday and it has messed up the trains all week. Maybe that will be cleared up tomorrow too, we can only hope. Did you all enjoy the Control Freaks Blog Tour yesterday?! I always have so much fun making my projects with that super talented group. If you didn’t get a chance to take a look be sure to, there were some great projects!

Today I have my post for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge. This time around we have a sketch challenge…

    PCCCS036 3-20-2013 Sketch Spring

Some really neat suggestions in the sketch wouldn’t you agree?! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper Pack from Sale-A-Bration. You only have until tomorrow to place you order and qualify for your free Sale-A-Braiton goodies and then it’s gone again until next year. I cut out a doily from the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit in Whisper White. The rounded scallop flag and the flagged pieces are cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies from Island Indigo and Tangerine Tango. All three of the pieces are adhered under a piece of Sahara Sand that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The “flowers” are from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set (also from Sale-A-Bration) and are stamped in Tangerine Tango and punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. For the greeting I use the stamp from the first Paper Pumpkin kit and stamped it in Island Indigo. It is punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and adhered to the embossed piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the “flowers”. I really like the stamp from the Paper Pumpkin Set, it has that casual feel to it. I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Don’t forget to see what the other designers have come up with over at the Paper Craft Crew blog. Thank you for checking in and I hope you have an awesome day!

  • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 33

TGIW! Thank god we are halfway through the week. I don’t know what is up at work lately but I want to run! LOL! I just think I need a little mental health day, have I mentioned that before?! The weather didn’t help with the mood, it was gloomy and rainy all day. Again, it’ better than snow! Hehehe! I have a something funny to tell you. My friend Kim is going away and I offered to take her to the airport before I asked the time of the flight. The flight is 6:00am Saturday, which means that we have to leave my house at 3:30am. What have we learned? To ask what time the flight is first! LOL! I would have done it anyway, but it’s pretty funny no?!?!

Since today is Wednesday that means it’s Paper Craft Crew day! This week we have a sketch for you…

    PCCCCS033 TCC St. Pat 3-13-2013

I do love a square card! I did something that I thought was a little cool with the sentiment on the card too. The base of the card is Elegant Eggplant Card Stock. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I stamped with the En Francais Background Stamp in More Mustard. The panel in the middle is stamped with an element from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant. I backed it with a piece of Elegant Eggplant and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flower is made by punching two pieces of Elegant Eggplant put with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and using my Paper Snips to cut the petals. I put a Basic Glimmer Brad in the middle and fluffed up the petals. The leaves are punched out from Always Artichoke using the Blossom Petals Builder Punch. A small strip of More Mustard is flagged and adhered to the panel and the flower is adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The greeting is stamped in More Mustard on Vellum Card Stock. I used my Heat Tool to speed the drying and then a strip of More Mustard hides the Stampin’ Dimensional that I adhered it to the card with. I really like the way the greeting stands away from the background but you can still see it. I will definitely do this again, I really like the effect. I hope that you enjoy my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch card for this week’s challenge. Let me know what you think of the greeting and thank you so much for checking in with me. I hope that you have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 32

Good morning! How are you all today? I always get better as the week goes along because we are getting closer to Friday! We are supposed to have some nasty weather later on today. They are saying high winds and 2 – 5 inches of snow. Sigh… I would like no more snow please! Sometimes they are wrong, I would like this to be one of those times! 🙂

Wednesday means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This time around we have a fun sketch…

    PCCCCS032 TMM HB 3-06-2013

I wanted to mix some of the old with the new and that’s what I did for this card. The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. The background is created with the En Francais Background Stamp inked up in Summer Starfruit and stamped onto Whisper White. The strip of card stock across the top half is Soft Suede that I embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the main image I stamped the script from the French Foliage Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit and then the Eiffel Tower from the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set in Soft Suede. The Oval Collection Framelits Dies are used to cut it out and a piece of Summer Starfruit to back it with. I used the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit to cut out a piece of Pool Party and I adhered all of the pieces together with SNAIL and then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flag is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Beyond Plaid Stamp Set in Soft Suede and cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. Before I adhered it to the card I flagged the end of a piece of Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon and tucked it underneath the Soft Suede strip. One of the Soda Pop Tops is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot with another image from the French Foliage Stamp Set stamped in Soft Suede and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Sometimes I get so caught up in the creating that I forget how many different products I used until I go and write the post! I used a lot on this one! It has a somewhat clean vintage feel to it and I love the colors together. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Don’t forget to go to the Paper Craft Crew blog and see what my fellow DT members have for you this week. As always I would love to see one of your cards in the gallery! • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 31

Woo hoo! We made it to Wednesday! How are you all today? I’m doing good. I’m thinking that I need a mental health day soon, so much to do and no where near enough time to get it all done! It’s raining here this morning and did all last night but I’ll take rain any day over snow! And the wind… let’s not even mention the wind! How is the weather where you are? Hopefully it’s pleasant and sunny!

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a super clean and simple one…

    PCCCCS031 TCC 2-27-2013

I love this sketch! As soon as I saw it I thought the little squares look just like stamps and I get to use my current favorite stamp set! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the greeting in the lower right corner from the Sent with Love Stamp Set in Midnight Muse. The background is a piece of paper from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. The images that represent the squares are also form the Sent with Love Stamp Set. I stamped them in Soft Suede and Midnight Muse and punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super simple. This would make a great workshop card or a quick Thank You card! I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what my fellow design team members have come up with and enter your card so I can take a look! Thank you so much for your time today, I hope you have a great day! 🙂
