Paper Players 326

It was like a Spring day here on Long Island yesterday! The temps got well up into the high 50’s! Such a nice reprieve from the snow! It won’t last for long, it’s to get cold again today but I enjoyed every minute of it! Renee and I got ready for the upcoming weekend crop at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte. I also worked on my card for today and left the store a little early to come home and take a nap. I went over to the Heather’s for the last Thirsty Thursday at her old apartment. Brian and Kim stopped by and then Heather and I went to see Stephanie at her house for a bit. Today I’m off from the store but after I get a haircut in the morning I’ll head over there for a bit, my friend Patrice is stopping by! 😀

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I did use something somewhat recycled on my card. I had a few stamped flowers and leaves from a card that I had made a while ago using the Reverse Confetti Blooms ‘N Buds Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Hero Arts Lime Green, Emerald Green and Butter Bar and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. They have been sitting on my desk for a long time and needed to be used! I adhered them to a tag with 3D Foam Squares that I cut out of Kraft and Crisp Green using the Reverse Confetti Topped Off Tags Confetti Cuts. I adhered the green piece to the tag and then threaded some May Arts Natural Twine through the top before adhering it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My butterfly/greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter Bar using the Reverse Confetti Butterfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set and is cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I used some more 3D Foam Squares to adhered it to the card and tucked the twine behind it. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Mossy Green, Lemon Drop and Iridescent Sunshine Glow Sequins and some Clear Droplets and the card is done! I do love those flowers and that butterfly, the greeting is really neat too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

It was overcast and dreary all day yesterday. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was good like it always is, I got some things done and Renee and Angie worked on their projects all day. I snuck out a little early so that I could get the plastic ornaments that I needed for today’s class. After I did that I had dinner with my Parents and then came home and worked on today’s card. The dreary weather took a turn for the worse, it snowed last night! It’s way too early for that! Today I have my Ornament Class at the Store, that will be fun! 😀

Since there is no Mojo Monday for the rest of the year I get to share my card for the week’s Paper Players challenge…

paper-players-325

It’s their last challenge for the year too! I knew what I wanted to use for the card, I just wasn’t sure exactly how I wanted to use it! I got a few goodies from Ellen Hutson the other day, I just couldn’t resist some of the new stamps and dies that they had! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Essentials by Ellen Poinsettia & Pine Dies to cut out some Brushed Silver Metallic Card Stock and Dark Gold Glitter Paper. I adhered the pine branches to the card with 1/8″ Score-Tape and the pinecones with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The peace is from the Essentials by Ellen Holiday Words Dies and is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and two pieces of Black 110lb. I adhered them to each other with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with 3M Foam Tape. All that was left to do was to add a few Platinum and Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins! I do love the dies, especially the Poinsettia & Pine, love those scribbly pinecones! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for starting your week off with a visit here! I wish you all a very happy Monday! 🙂

So when I got the to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store they were already paving the parking lot. Let me tell you that makes it really hard for people to get over to the store! I spent a little time in the morning getting a few things finished and I left the Store around 12:30 to go and see my friend Sue. We had Etsy things to do and I have benn putting them off for a while plus I haven’t really see her a lot lately and I missed her! We had a nice afternoon and even went to Panera for lunch! I headed back over to my house around 5:30 and had dinner with my Parents. Mum made Trifle for dessert and it was yummy! I came home and worked on one of my cards for Friday, yes it’s a double post day! Today I need to get my Newsletter finished and yes, work on more projects! 😀

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. For the background I drew three lines onto a piece of Solar White 80lb with a pencil and stamped three of the houses from the Mama Elephant Christmas Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black repeatedly. I also stamped them onto another piece of Solar White 80lb and colored them in with Copics. Next I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the three houses that I colored in and some Post-its to create masks for the ones on the panel. I put the masks on and applied some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I then stamped the greeting from the Christmas Scene Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and the snowflakes from the Mama Elephant City Sidewalks Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Tide Pool. The base is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and the three colored houses are adhered to the center row with 3D Foam Squares. I really like the effect of the masked houses with the soft blue background, it was quick and fun to do! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

The rain continued and so did the leaks in the ceiling at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Since a lot of the ceiling tiles have come down it was only pouring water in two places! LOL! I guess that’s better, right?! Other than the rain it was a nice day at the Store. My Parents came by for a visit and Renee had her Home Decor make up day so some ladies came in and painted their Santa pieces. I worked on some projects and made my card for today. On the way home I had stop at the DSW across the street from the Store to pick up some boots for Heather. Mum made stew for dinner, perfect for the weather that we have been having! After dinner I went over to Heather’s and gave her the boots, we ran to BJ’s and then went back to her house where she made me lunch for tomorrow! She really is very good to me! Today I want to package up my SIP Tags Kit and get a class together for a few weeks from now. Always something to do! 😀

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from my friend Sandy…

paper-players-323

I kept my card very simple! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Kraft. I stamped the script stamp from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Photopolymer Stamp Set using my Mini MISTI (makes the repeat stamping so easy) in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Satin Embossing Powder. The panel is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. Across the lower half is a piece of Chinese Red that I flagged on the left. My mistletoe is from the Hero Arts Holly Days Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink, again using the MISTI so I could stamp it a few times, onto Kraft. I used my Prismacolor Pencils to color it in. It’s cut out with the Coordinating Die and adhered to red strip with more E-Z Runner. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold onto a piece of 48lb Vellum with the left side flagged. I used Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhered it over the mistletoe. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is finished! I love that Hero Arts White Satin Embossing Powder and I was inspired by the incredibly talented Stephanie Klauck to use my colored pencils on Kraft Card Stock! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thanks for coming by today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope that you will all be spending time with your loved ones today and eating far too much food. So much that you have to Black Friday shop online! LOL! I will be having a nice low key day at home, Taylor is going to come by for pizza and then she will be heading to work at 4:30. I did have a nice day yesterday. I went to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to wait for FedEx and UPS, they were there by 11:30! From there I stopped by my old job and visited with my friends, it was so nice to see everyone! Nancy’s nice and nephew were there too! After that I headed over to Heather’s to run a few errands with her and then came home and had dinner with my Parent’s. After that Taylor and I took a ride back over to the Store because of course I forgot the things that I wanted to take with me from the deliveries! After that we did a quick trip to Target and then I came home and made my card for today! 😀

That card that I made is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I was very good and kept my card very CAS! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints Background onto a piece of Solar White 80lb with Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Snowy Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the tree in Tide Pool and Mint Julep and then heat embossed the snow layer in more Sparkle Embossing Powder. The deer is stamped in Soft Brown three times with my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. My greeting is stamped in Tide Pool and all of the pieces are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares, I used the Thin 3D Foam Squares on the deer to make him look like he’s behind the tree. I do love that Sparkle Embossing Powder, it looks so much nicer in person! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving! 🙂

Hi there! We had another lovely day yesterday! I completely forgot that I had a haircut yesterday morning until my iPhone reminded me! After my haircut I headed over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and got busy checking in my Notions order. I received lots of fun new goodies including some Pinkfresh Studio Stamps and WOW! Embossing Powder, I can’t wait to play with that stuff! After work I came home and had a quick dinner and then Andrew came by. We continued working on our little project, hopefully we will finish on schedule! Today is the first day of this month’s Card Class featuring Concord & 9th! Looking forward to seeing my students! 😀

I have been making some kits at the Store and one of the Holiday Kits still available for purchase. I wanted to let you know about it before I offered it elsewhere! It features Lawn Fawn Stamps, Dies, Ink, Patterned Paper and an Acrylic Block. There are four examples included on a sheet in the kit and supplies to make a lot of cards! If you are interested in purchasing the kit you can click HERE. Below is a picture of the Kit including a list of all that is included!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge

paper-players-321

My card all began with me wanting to use the new Concord & 9th Heartstrings Die! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock with the front covered in a piece of Hunter Green. I die cut a piece of Classic Cherry with the Concord & 9th Heartstrings Die. In the lower left corner I stamped the trees from the Concord & 9th O Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Silver Pigment Ink and did the same for the greeting across the bottom. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back and then I used the large open heart from the dies set to cut out a piece of Fun Foam. That is then adhered to the panel with E-Z Runner. I added my Silver Pretty Pink Posh Sequins to the card and then adhered the panel over the top. The small heart from the die set is used to cut out a piece of Silver Glitter Card and I adhered it to the center of the heart with 3D Foam Squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet Sequins adhered randomly compete the card! I think that the Heartstrings Die Cut makes it look like love is shining down on the Christmas trees! Corny I know! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you for coming by to visit me today! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

When I woke up this morning it was 91 degrees in my apartment, needless to say I had a pretty bad headache! You know it’s warm in the house when you take a nice hot shower and the mirrors in the bathroom don’t even fog up! I downed some Excedrin and headed to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Renee had a friend of hers drive up from PA to take a class! She was very nice! Jean also stopped by and worked on some cards and my headache finally subsided by 2:00PM. I did manage to get the last card made for class and also made another one just for fun! When I got home I went and turned the heat off in the apartment, still 91! I should have done it in the morning! I opened all of the windows and by the time I went to bed at 12:30 it was still 82! I need to get the thermostat fixed ASAP! I mean I like it warm but that’s just crazy! Today I need to work on some crafty stuff! Another fun day! 😀

One of the cards that I made over the weekend is for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from LeAnne

paper-players-319

I went down the left column! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Tape. On a piece of Solar White 80lb I used the Hero Arts Paper Layering Santa Face with Frame to die cut just face part without the frame. I colored in parts with my Copics and popped up some areas before adhering the panel to a piece of Fun Foam with E-Z Runner and then to the card. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black in the lower right and a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added for a little extra sparkle! I love that Paper Layering Die, so clever and I think he looks pretty neat all colored in! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from LeAnne! Thanks you for stopping by to visit me today! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

Remember when I said yesterday that I was going to be one tired boy today… I was right! LOL! I didn’t get much accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Renee and I had our friend Evelyn stop by to work on a project and Taylor came by to see me again. After work I came home and waited for my Parent’s to get back from the closing on my Grandmother’s house in Pennsylvania. We had dinner and then I came home and watched TV. I was too tired to do anything else! Today I feel much better and will continue to work on getting some more projects finished. 😀

Thankfully I worked ahead and have a card to share with you today that is for this week’s Paper Player Sketch Challenge

paper-players-318

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card stock. I took a piece of Shale and inked the edges with some Hero Arts Navy Ink and a mini Ink Blending Tool. Down the right is a piece of Authentique Strong Collection 12×12 Paper. My little buildings are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s It’s Christmas Time Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it with Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Navy that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Kelly’s Warm & Cozy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Navy, flagged the ends and inked the edges. It too is adhered to the circle with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. To complete the card it just needed some sparkle so I added a few Little Things by Lucy Nautical Mix Sequins and Rhinestones! And to think that this card all started because I wanted to use the Crossword Paper! I also happen to love that little set of buildings! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Sketch Challenge! I appreciate you coming by today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Oh boy did I have a nice day yesterday! Apart from getting up at 5:30! I haven’t been up that early in a really long time! I made sure that I took the 7:01AM train from Bethpage, it’s starts the station before so you are guaranteed a seat! I saw my friend Pat on the platform which was a nice surprise! By the time I got up to 77th Street I still had about 40 minutes before I had to meet Ella so I placed a mobile order at the Starbucks on 78th and sat down and enjoyed the city for a bit. I was an absolutely glorious day, high of 84 and lovely and sunny! Ella and I got all of the things accomplished on her list and a few extras. After I left Ella I met my friend Patrice on 77th. She had wanted a stamp set from the store and to borrow one of mine. It was so nice to see her, she is such a wonderful person, funny and always smiling! I just made it back to Penn Station in time for my train out to Lindenhurst. Sue picked me up at the station at 1:16 and we stopped at Taco Bell so I could get some quick food. When we got to the store Jean was waiting so I could make her a custom stamp. Once that was finished Sue and I set out to get the cutting done for class. Before heading back over to my house we stopped at Bed, Bath & Beyond so I could get a new Keurig! LOL! I needs my coffee!! Sue’s husband Joe met us for dinner and then Sue and I came back to my house for a bit. I’m not gonna lie, I was really tired last night and even went to bed early! Today is the first day of the Lawn Fawn Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Fun, fun, fun!

Thankfully I had planned ahead and made today’s card for this week’s Paper Players challenge on Tuesday! Before we get to this week I want to say a big thank you to Joanne for choosing me as a her Cut Above in last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week, a Clean and Simple Leaf from Nance….

paper-players-317

My card is pretty clean, maybe not that simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Concord & 9th Barnwood Background Photopolymer Stamp onto some Slate with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s cut to 4″ x 5 1/2″ so that little bit of white peeks out from either side. The leaves are die cut from Solar White 110lb using the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I heat embossed each one three times with Hero Arts Gold, Platinum, Brass, Silver and Copper Embossing Powder. They are adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive. A strip of Battleship Gray has the thanks from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in more Hero Arts White and it’s adhered over the top of the leaves to the card with Fun Foam and Tombo Extreme Adhesive. A little scattering of some Little Things by Lucy Sequins completes the card! I have said it before and I’ll say it again, that Barnwood Background Stamp is my favorite woodgrain stamp and I clearly love the Layering Leaves Dies and the Give Thanks Stamps, I think I have used them more than any other set I own! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Nance! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Thursday! 🙂

I miss the Summer. I know, I have said it before but I miss shorts and flip flops and the top down in the car. Ok, now that I got that out of the way! Renee and I had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte! She had a class with a few teens in the morning and I sent out my reminder email about the Quick Cards Class on Thursday. We also had a guy from Maptoons stop by to talk to us about advertising. He was really nice and we had a good laugh with him. We are going to go with his campaign and see what happens. My Parents stopped by with my little buddy Daniel! We had so much fun looking at things in the store and he was telling Renee about all the things in the storage room. After that Taylor stopped by with her friend Marissa. Two days in a row, I feel like a popular dad! LOL! Later on my friend Marissa and her fiancé came in. Busy day at the store! As an added bonus when I got home I got to see Daniel again! I had dinner with him while he had a little ice cream and watched his cartoons on my Mum’s hi-Pad as he calls it! After that I came home and relaxed for a bit and finished up my card for today’s post. I’ll have to get ready for the Quick Cards class today and see when my new Mama Elephant and Concord & 9th will be arriving!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

paper-players-316

Some fun colors from my friend Sandy! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Hero Arts Orange Soda Ink to the front. My image is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set and I stamped it in Orange Soda, Pumpkin Pie and Green Fields using my Mini MISTI. It’s then cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circle Stackables along with a piece of Black. The stamped circle is adhered to the black circle with E-Z Runner and then they are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. The greeting is cut from more Black using one of the dies from the Spellbinders Fall Botanical Die D-lites and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin and Shamrock Sequins are added to complete the card. I do love that bouquet stamp, can’t believe that it’s the first time I’m using it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge from Sandy! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂
