Paper Players 295

Not a bad day yesterday! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then gathered my stuff up that I needed to take over to Scrap-A-Latte and headed out. I had lots to do there and am happy to report that I got all of it done! Renee was also super productive and we did a little organizing! I spoke with Michael and he even FaceTimed with Renee and I! Good to see him and speak to him! Today I’ll be over at Scrap-A-Latte for card class and to finish setting up. Oh, I guess today’s the day that I get to share with you what I have been working on! I’m going to be taking over the stamp side of Scrap-A-Latte! Renee was kind enough to let me come and be in the store with her! My part will be called… Stamp, Ink, Paper!! Kind of tells you exactly what I sell! To start off I will have some Altenew, Concord & 9th and of course Lawn Fawn with Hero to follow shortly! Just in time for release day for Lawn Fawn! I’m loving the new release! Here are the sample cards that they send…

LF May Sample Cards

Aren’t they super cute?! I love the Mermaids and the slider dies are awesome! Can’t wait to play with all of it! So if you are in the area come on by and say hello!! There will be more as time goes on including an online store with special perks for my faithful blog readers! 😉

When I did finally settle down last night I made my card for this this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #295

At first I thought… I don’t think that I have any wild animals! Then I remembered that I actually have lots of them in my Lawn Fawn Sets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper. For the piece that I used for my background I inked it with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. The second piece is cut with the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders for the earth and the Meadow Borders for the grass. Next I did some more ink blending with the grass using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn, for the earth I used Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy and spritzed it with a little water and blotted it dry. They are all adhered together and to the card with E-Z Runner. The images are from the Lawn Fawn Critters Down Under Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Onyx Black and then adhered the trees with Foam Tape on the tops, the bird and extra leaves are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I really love that background and all of the bright happy colors! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for your continued visits! Have an absolutely amazing Thursday! 🙂

Happy weekend peeps! It was overcast here and rained for the afternoon yesterday. We just get a taste of Spring! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit before I ran over and got Heather and dropped her off so that she could pick up her car. When I got back to the house I crafted for a while and then went over to see Daniel at my Parent’s. Erika brought home pizza and rigatoni alla vodka for dinner for all of us. After dinner was over I came back home, made another card and then watched Transformers – Age of Extinction. I thought I had seen it but I hadn’t and it was good! I like techie movies with robots and lots of explosions! LOL! This morning I’m going to meet Sue at Scrap-A-Latte for the garage sale that they are having there. That should be fun!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Player’s challenge to share with you, unfortunately not in time to be added…

Paper Players #294

I used some new Altenew Stamps that I got the other day! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Broken China Distress Ink to make my subtle “sky” background. The flowers and branch are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in So Saffron and Wisteria Wonder for the flowers using my Mini MISTI and the branch is stamped in Soft Suede. A little dot of Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink is stamped in the middles and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The branch is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers with Foam Tape. My hello is form the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Pink Pirouette. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out and a piece of Pear Pizzaz. The stamped hello is adhered to the Pear Pizzaz one, slightly offset, with Multi-Matte Medium and the same attaches it to the card. I love the simplistic look of the card and the way the Wisteria Wonder took on a brownish tinge when stamped over the So Saffron is pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! I completely forgot that it ends on Friday night but I had it made so I wanted to share it anyway! Thank you so much for coming by! I wish you all a fun Saturday! 🙂

Another rainy day here as promised by the lovely weathermen! LOL! I was up early and took Heather to the Dr. for another shot in her spine. She is trying to avoid the surgery at all costs, I can’t say that I blame her. We were there for a while and when she was finished we drove over to Woodbury and had lunch at Chop’t! Yes, I found one out here on the Island! Now Heather understands why I like it so much! From there we stopped at Target, Walgreen’s and the Dry Cleaners before heading back to her house. One of the cats had tried to take apart the chandelier so I fixed that and then came home just in time for dinner with Mum and Dad! When I got back to my house I made my card for today and continued working on my little project. Soon people!

The Paper Players have an interesting challenge this week…

Paper Players #293

Now, I knew that I had a bicycle stamp somewhere I just had to find it which didn’t take quite as long as I had thought it would! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts from Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive. Across the bottom for the street I adhered a piece of Basic Gray with some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The bicycle and greeting are from the Papertrey Ink Pedal Pusher Photopolymer Stamp Set. I did all of my die cutting first, they are solid dies, and then stamped the Wheels and greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black, the bicycle in Tide Pool, Basket in Khaki and the puppy in Slate. Two brads attach the wheels to the bike frame and it’s adhered to the card with more Tombo Dot Runner and Foam Tape. I never get tired of that cityscape, it works for so many different things! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by today! Have a simple Thursday! 🙂

Oh did I enjoy my day off yesterday! I got a few projects finished in the morning while FaceTiming with Andrea. My haircut appointment was at 2:00 and I had to stop at the Post Office to drop off a package on my way. Sometimes it feels so good to get a haircut! I even made my next appointment! From there I came back home and watched a few YouTube videos. Heather stopped by at 4:30 and got me so that we could run to Century21. She had to get a dress for a wedding that she has to go to on Friday night and I wanted to get shoes. I have been looking for comfortable ones, sneakers, but I just don’t like the way they look on me! I ended up getting a pair of Converse. Not super comfortable but I do love them! I have also been looking for ways to save money. One big expense for me each month is coffee! I have a Keurig and I go through about 6-8 K-Cups a day! That gets really expensive! I researched the Ninja Auto iQ Coffee Bar and it had some good reviews. It also uses regular ground coffee which is much cheaper than K-Cups so I got one from BJ’s for $129. I have to say that I made a travel mug size with some Starbucks Espresso Roast Coffee and it was quite delicious! I’ll keep trying different things with it and decide if it will help me out with the money savings in the long run! Hopefully it will! Today I’m going to try and run over to see Renee for a bit and then it’s Thirsty Thursday! Can’t wait to see the gang later on!

I got my new Simon Says Stamp Monthly Kit and decided to play with it to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #292

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White Card Stock. I cut three strips of paper, two from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad and one from a piece of Soft Sky. They are all adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The sun, cloud, speech bubble and greeting are all from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Days Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the sun and speech bubble on Daffodil Delight and the cloud on Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The greeting is stamped in Onyx Black and I cut them all out with my Scissors. On the cloud and the sun I colored in the cheeks with a Copic and then went over the eyes with a Sakura Black Gel Pen. The cloud is then adhered to the back of the sun and some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and regular Foam Tape adheres them and the speech bubble in place. It needed something else so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Summer Mix Sequins, that definitely helped! LOL! I love the simplicity of all of the images in the stamp set and the really neat little tiny greetings too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your busy day to stop by and see me! Have a simply wonderful Thursday! 🙂

Ok, I’m one tired boy! LOL! I got into Manhattan a little early yesterday, I had to clean up the store from class the night before. I put away the tables and chairs and swept and put all of the displays back. It was a steady day, not too busy but a good flow of people. Barbara and I had Chop’d for lunch, it’s a salad place and you can get all kinds of different ones and it was delicious! I also got a nice walk in since it’s about 10 blocks from the store! I caught the 7:12 home and was back in my house by 8:15. As soon as I got home I stared to do my cutting for class and finished that around 10:30. This morning I have to go in a little early and head uptown to pick up some stuff for the store. I have to leave at 4:45 today to get the train out to Babylon where Andrew is going to pick me up so I can get to Scrap-A-Latte in time for tonight’s card class! Fingers crossed peeps!

If you have a minute and are so inclined my Brother and Sister-in-law have entered Daniel in a contest with Newsday for the cutest little boy on Long Island. You click HERE to go and cast your vote for him! Thanks! Just in case you need a little reminder of just how cute he is…

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Paper Players Clean & Simple Butterflies from Sandy

Paper Players #291

I kept mine super Clean & Simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb and all of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers and the greeting in Tide Pool and the leaves in Forever Green. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies and is stamped in Light Peach to Dark Peach Ombre in for the base layer and Unicorn White Pigment ink for the top. I added some Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder to it and heat set it. The Coordinating Dies cut it out and a thin strip of Foam Tape adheres it to the card. Very simple indeed but I love that butterfly and the fun flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Yes, this is the second post for today! I made my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge and I wanted to get to share it before the challenge ended! Here is this week’s challenge…

Paper Players #290

I have to admit, when I first saw these colors I was at a loss! LOL! But then I was digging around in my stash and found a set that I have had for a long time and I don’t think that I have ever used and I got an idea! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my flowers and leaves are form the W Plus 9 Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set. The dies for the set are solid so you cut them first and then stamp the images. The are all stamped in Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaz and Mossy Meadow. I clustered them around my sentiment banner which is from the W Plus 9 Basic Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set and are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The outline is stamped in Melon Mambo and the greeting in Rich Razzleberry. All of the leaves are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers and banner with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Watermelon, Pumpkin and Lime Sorbet Sequins for a little bit of sparkle! I love that Fresh Cut Floras set and can’t believe that I haven’t used it before! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Sorry to bombard you with two posts! Enjoy the rest of your Thursday! 🙂

And we are coming into the home stretch of the week! It was chilly here again most of the day but started to warm up late in the evening. We are to have some rain today but it will be warmer! I’ll take it! Yesterday I tried to have a crafty day but other things kept getting in the way! I “lost” a stamp for a while and then Taylor and Kiera came over and Taylor found it for me within three minutes! She should have been here earlier! LOL! Last night they came back over and we watched a movie. A nice way to end the day! Today I have lots of stuff to get done, wish me luck!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #289

It took me a while to come up with this one, I don’t have that much western stuff! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Tip Top Taupe that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Khaki Ink. My greeting is a Unity Stamp called Whiskey than Tea that I have had for a while and it’s heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler. I wrapped some Papertrey Ink Natural Twine around the panel and secured a Regals Collection Designer Button to it. The panel is then adhered to the base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My stars are Cherry Cobbler and they are cut out with Momenta Starts Cut & Emboss Dies. The right and left ones are adhered with E-Z Runner and the middle one with some Foam Tape. I love the woodgrain background and the stars are pretty neat too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for visiting me today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Sometimes the week just goes way too fast! I was up until around 2:30am last night which resulted in me getting up at 9:30, way too late! LOL! I have a little project that I’m researching and hopefully everything will go well and I’ll be able to share what I’m up to soon. I got to speak to Michael for a while today, always good to catch up! I did get to go over to my parent’s to see Daniel and Erika for a bit before I had to go and pick up Bill and take him back over to Deer Park to pick up Anthony’s van. They fixed it and all is working perfectly again. I went back over to my parent’s house for dinner, got to see my brother for a bit too. When I got back to my house I crafted for a little while and then binge watched Fixer Upper on HGTV, love what they do with houses! I’m off to spend the day with my friend Sue today, we’ll get some Etsy stuff done and hopefully craft a bit too!

The little card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #288

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took some paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Collection and adhered it to a piece of Solar White 80lb. That is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I cut the top of a piece of Basic Gray with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Dies and then heat embossed my sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. The anchor and sailboat are from the same set. The sailboat is stamped in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink and the Anchor in Soft Granite to Black Ombre Ink. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and the are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I guess I’m dreaming of a little beach getaway! Love that Ombre Ink, especially the Pool to Navy! What an amazingly gorgeous day here yesterday! I had the top down in the car and it was glorious! It’s funny how just driving in my convertible makes everything right with the world again! I FaceTimed with Andrea a bit in the morning and then went over to see Heather for lunch. She grilled up some chicken and we had delicious salads! When I got back to the house I went next door to see Daniel for a little bit, he was going with my parents to Carvel to get ice cream, his favorite! Around 4:30 Heather came by and we ran to BJ’s and Target to pick up a few things, she dropped me back home and Danielle was supposed to stop by but she got stuck at work so I headed back over to Heather’s. She surprised me with an amazing dinner! We all like a little food porn from time to time, almost as much as some people love regular porn from sources including https://www.nu-bay.com/categories/56/ass, so here it is…

Heather Dinner 3-23-2016

Chicken Français with baby potatoes and a nice salad! It really was delicious! After dinner we ran to Big Lots and then came back and I had a walnut brownie with a nice cup of coffee. Such a lovely day!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

Paper Players #287

I went super clean and simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My flower and leaves are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Hibiscus Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower in Hero Arts Butter Bar, Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam with the center stamped in Butter Bar. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and Olive and then all of them are cut out with my Scissors. I adhered the leaves to the card with E-Z Runner, positioned my flower and then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Share Handmade Kindness Photopolymer Stamp Set in Onyx Black. The flower and stamen are then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. You know that I had to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Marigold, Pumpkin and Shamrock Sequins for a little something extra! I say it all the time but I love the Hero Arts Color Layering Sets, I wanted my flower to have a bit of a graphic appearance and I’m quite happy with the results! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today! Have a fantastic Thursday! 🙂

Happy St. Paddy’s Day! I celebrated a little early with Brian last night, hence the late post this morning! LOL! Yesterday I went over to Scrap-A-Latte and got most of my stuff cut for class and got to see Renee for a bit. She left early so I stayed and locked up. I had some dinner when I got home and then Brian and I took a ride to Brooklyn to get one of our friend’s cars. He’s a fireman and will be going to the parade today so he didn’t want to drive home later. After we dropped off the car at his house we went to Riley’s so Brian could eat and we ended up having a few beers to celebrate! I’ll be heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for class later on. I get to see Danielle and Andrew, they will be at tonight’s class! Yay!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge…

Paper Players #286

I don’t know why but when I see a bunch of bold colors like these I somehow always try and just use those colors! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Calypso Coral. Next, I took the Simon Says Stamp Present Shaker Craft Die and cut it out from a  piece of Bermuda Bay and Black 110lb. The Black is trimmed out to be the frame for the present and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the Bermuda Bay and then some Foam Tape to create my well for the shaker goodies! To fill up the shaker part I used a little Recollections Mini Black Star Glitter and some Teal Glitter that I got from Target. It’s sprinkled on the card and then the front panel is adhered over it to seal it in. A piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper is then cut out with the bow from the die set and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set is stamped in Onyx Black across the top. A fun simple shaker card that would work well for just about anyone! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge. Thanks for coming by today and I wish you all very happy Thursday! 🙂
