Paper Players 285

Happy Friday everyone! It was another absolutely beautiful day here yesterday! I went over to see Sue and I got to have the top down in the car! Oh how I have missed that! We got some Etsy stuff accomplished and went and had bagels for lunch. When we got back to Sue’s we spoke to Michael and then I headed home to see my little Daniel! He came over to my house and let Winston out, gave him a biscuit and then we went for a walk. On the way back he sat on my shoulders and told my mum “look at how tall I am Nanny!” when we got back to the house. When I went to leave he said with a very sad face “Uncle Justin, you didn’t tell Daniel that you love him”. So I told him that I did and I got a hug and a kiss! He is just the cutest little man ever! From there I headed over to Heather’s and we ran up to IKEA to get her another chair and lamp. When we got back I assembled the new goodies and then Adam and Stephanie came over for Thirsty Thursday. Another wonderful day! Today I’ll be off to The Ink Pad for my Hero Arts Class tonight and then I’ll be at Kim’s. It’s back to The Ink Pad for the day tomorrow with Anna! Here is a little selfie of Daniel and I on the way back from our walk…

Oh I just love that little guy so much! Note that he has his remote in his hand, you never know when you are going need one of those! LOL!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #285

I did a little hybrid of the two! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Smoky Slate. I stamped my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set In Onyx Black on the background. A piece of Basic Gray is cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the frame with Scor-Tape and then added a layer of Foam Tape. A piece of Solar White 80lb is cut out with the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio Creative Cuts and adhered to the card. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Marshmallow Sequins and then adhered the frame to the card. Some more Solar White 80lb and a piece of Daffodil Delight are cut out with the Mama Elephant Stitched Sky Creative Cuts and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The raindrops are from the same die set and are adhered to the Acetate with Multi-Matte Medium. I love that Madison Avenue Frame and the sentiment is a really nice and different one! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you so much for coming by and visiting me today! I wish you all the best Friday ever! 🙂

And it’s Thursday already! Another week just whipping by! Yesterday was another nice day here, a little colder but sunny. I went over to Heather’s for lunch and had some of her homemade chicken soup, it was delicious! We spent a little time chatting while she worked, she works from home, my ideal job! When I left Heather’s I decided that I would stop by my old office to drop off Danielle’s scarf that she left at my house a few weeks ago. It was really nice to see everyone! I do miss Danielle, Nicole, Cindy and Robin. Nancy wasn’t there, she is on vacation with her family so I will have to go back and see her. When I got back home I crafted with Andrea over FaceTime before having dinner with my parents. The rest of the evening was spent doing a little more crafting and getting sucked into watching videos of Adele’s opening night concert in Ireland. She really is just amazing! Today, I’ll be heading over to see my friend Sue and then a quick stop off to see Renee!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch from Claire

Paper Players #284

Andrea had commented that I haven’t used Stampin’ Up! in a while so I thought that today’s card would be perfect for some of the new stuff from the Occasions Catalog! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Above that is a piece of “Vintage” Brushed Gold Card Stock. My panel down the left is a piece of paper from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack, I adhered it to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL. My globe and greeting are from the Going Global Clear Mount Stamp Set. I heat embossed the globe in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Ivory 110lb, the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black also on Ivory. I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out the globe and the greeting is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I tucked a banner cut from more Brushed Gold under the globe and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins along with a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. I do really love that stamp set and the DSP too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Did we have some wicked storm here last night! Thunder, lightning and lots of wind! I went over to Heather’s and when I went to leave at 12:00 I had to make a run for the car and sit it in when I got home for a bit. Crazy! Yesterday I did do some more crafting and I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little while. When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea and made a card, I also got my cards completed for the Hero Arts class at The Ink Pad, love the way they turned out! While I was at Heather’s last night Michael called and I got to catch up with him. I needed his opinion on a few things and he was very helpful as always. This morning I’m going to take a ride with Heather to the Doctor so she can find out what else can be done about her back. Hopefully she won’t need surgery.

For today’s card I have one for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #283

What a fun challenge! I have a Mama Elephant set that I have been wanting to use and this was just perfect for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used my Corner Chomper to round all of the corners. The frame is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. I added a piece of Acetate and a layer of Foam Tape around the frame to create my well for the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Clear Seed Beads that I filled it with. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I stamped the rays from the Mama Elephant Sunny Skies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and the panel is adhered to the frame. I then adhered the whole thing to the card with E-Z Runner Adhesive. The balloons and clouds are also from the same set. My balloon is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue, the basket in Khaki and the clouds in Smoke. I used the coordinating Creative Cuts to cut them out and then adhered them to the shaker window with Foam Tape. For a little shine I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the balloon. I love that frame with the scalloped edge and double stitching, the stamp set is fun too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! I appreciate you coming by today and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

I do love a day in Manhattan! It was overcast but not too cold. The trains were somewhat on-time, which rarely happens as of late! I spent the morning with Anna and Barbara at The Ink Pad. While I was there Effie from The Ton Stamps stopped in. She is such a nice person! We chatted about crafty stuff and I told her how much I enjoy her little brush lettering videos on Instagram. Around 1:00pm I made my way up to see Isabella. She is another really nice and funny person. I’m pretty lucky with all of the people that I have in my life! We got caught up and she had an appointment so I headed back to Penn around 4:00 and caught the 4:31 home, had some dinner and then chatted with Andrea for a bit before sitting down to make today’s card. This morning I must do some laundry, I’m almost out of clothes! LOL!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Ahh, I love it when the spring colors start making a comeback! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango right on the card front. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and I heat embossed the greeting from the same set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Another flower and set of leaves from the set is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Pearls to the middle of all of the flowers to finish off the card. I love the subtleness of the flowers with nice pop of the black tag! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Yesterday was a long day! The airport in the morning, Scrap-A-Latte for a bit, over to see my friend Sue and then take Heather to the train. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little tired! It also rained here most of the day but it was warm so no complaints. Today I need to get some organizing done and then tonight is thirsty Thursday!

For my card today I have used this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe board for inspiration…

Paper Players #280

I want to thank Hannelle for choosing me as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I cut a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card to 3 1/4″ wide and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to create the somewhat evening sky looking background. It’s spritzed with some water and then adhered to the card with SNAIL. My bird and branch are form the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set. The outline is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and I used Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Schoolhouse Red, Duckling, Slate and Khaki Ink to fill in the colors. For the eye I used a Sakura Black Gel Pen and Uni White Gel Pen. He is cut out with the coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium And Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set and is also stamped in Onyx Black. A little shower of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins from the top right completes the card. So, I went down the middle row! I love that bird and the easy way that you can add different colors to him! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your Thursday! 🙂

Yesterday was nice and sunny which helped melt some more of the snow! I went to the Dr. in the morning with Brian so Heather could get her shot. After that we went to the Deli and got some lunch and from there Brian dropped us back at Heather’s. She was waiting for the mattress to be delivered and when it came it was way too high with the boxspring so that has to go back. She had missed Lucifer on Monday so we watched that. I ran home to pick something up around 4:00 and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit. From there it was back home for some dinner and a little craftiness.

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. The strip of paper down the left is a piece from the Pebbles Yours Truly 6×6 Paper Pad. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. What a nice day I had yesterday! Kim made some very impressive oatmeal for breakfast yesterday morning, it had blueberries and blackberries and all kinds of other goodness in it! The cable guy showed up on time and was there about an hour. He finished and I left the apartment and headed over to see my friend Isabella. It’s always so nice to catch up with her! From there it was off to the Subway and back to Penn Station to head back out to the Island. I had a little lunch when I got home and then later in the evening Danielle stopped by to get some cards from me. I do miss seeing her and the rest of the crew but after she tells me the goings on at the office I certainly don’t miss that! LOL! Danielle left around 7:00 and I headed over to get Heather and we went to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to her house we watched some ID TV, quite addictive! Like I said, I had a very nice day!

I thought that I would mention that if you are looking for any crafting supplies you might want to head over to my friend Sue’s Etsy shop FlowerCraftEmporium! She has a lot of cool stuff for sale!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Before we get to this week I want send some love Claire’s way for selecting me as her headliner for last week’s color challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

I do love a Valentine! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of black and white Washi Tape. I used the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Red Felt and Black 110lb. They are then adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with SNAIL. My tag is cut from some more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Craft Dies. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black and White Baker’s Twine through the top and adhered the tag to the card with Foam Tape. Another heart is cut out with the Hearts Stackables from a piece of My Mind’s Eye Christmas on Market Street Gold Foil Vellum and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. The little red heart is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I die cut a piece of American Crafts Red Glitter Paper along with some Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Craft Dies. They too are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the simplicity of the card and the texture of the red felt adds that little extra something! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players CAS Valentine challenge from Sandy! 1600!!

So today is a little bit of a milestone for me! I started blogging back on August 6, 2011 and I have enjoyed every minute of it! I get to share my days and creativity with some of the most amazing and kind people in the world! You all tell me that I get to inspire you but you also inspire me every day with your kind comments and little “chats” that we have! I had no idea that I would make this a daily part of my life when I started but I’m so glad that that is what it has become! Blogging for me, making a card and sharing some of my life and adventures, has become as routine as brushing my teeth! I look forward to making my card and then typing the post every day. The best part of it all is reading the comments! And I have responded to every comment since the start and have made some wonderful friends in the process! And as you have seen in the title of today’s post it’s my 1600th! That is just crazy! So I want to thank you all for coming along on my little journey and I look forward to the next 1600!

Yesterday was a good day! I stopped at Heather’s for lunch again, those panini’s are just too good to pass up! From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to chat with Renee and prepare for class. Danielle stopped and got us some Blaze Pizza for dinner, her first time halving it and she loved it! Class was great as it always is and I got to catch up with Danielle which was awesome! On the way home I stopped at Heather’s again and had a glass of wine with her and Stephanie, what better way to end the day?! This afternoon I’ll head back over to the store for the second night of Card Class, can’t wait!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #277

I’m not gonna lie, I was a little stumped by this one! After some playing around I finally came up with something that I liked! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Tempting Turquoise and adhered it to the card a little over to the left and top with SNAIL. Next up is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss, Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad, it’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My two hearts are cut out using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Heart Stackables from Melon Mambo and Real Red. The larger is adhered with SNAIL and the smaller with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow Craft Dies and the Lawn Fawn Scripty XOXO to cut out some Black 110lb and adhered them both to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Over the arrow is a Melon Mambo heart punched out with the EK Success Small Heart Punch and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. For a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine, Marshmallow, Pink Peonies and Raspberry Sequins. I do think that the card is neat and would make a great Valentine or even a just because I love you card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge! Thank you sooooooo much for coming by today to celebrate my 1600th blog post too! Have an absolutely amazing Friday! 🙂

Sorry about the random post that got sent out last night from 2012! I can’t explain how that happened! I guess like Grace said the blog wanted to take a walk down memory lane! Hopefully that won’t happen again! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue. We chatted and got some more stuff ready for Etsy. For lunch we went to the deli in East Meadow and had sandwiches and then we stopped in Marshall’s. I got a Chelsea Football Gym Sac, some new slippers and some Jelly Belly Jellybeans! When I got home I had dinner with my parent’s and then came to my house and crafted for a bit before working on the blog update again. Hopefully I will finish that today and have the new look ready to go by tomorrow!

My inspiration for my craftiness last night was this week’s Paper Players challenge. I wanted to thank Amy for making me her Headliner for the last challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

That’s a nice fun and simple challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a bunch of different dies to create my greeting. The Happy is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Snow Craft Die and the birthday is from the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words: Birthday Die. They are both cut out from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper that is adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with some Stick-It. The 21 is cut out from some Adhesive Cork Sheet that I adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. My th is cut from some more of the cork using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies. The panel is a piece of Watermelon Wonder that is cut out with the Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die, it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the greeting. I like the nice pop of black along with the subtleness of the cork against the bright notebook page and fun background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge from Joanne! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

Well, that was avery long but fun day in Manhattan! I took the 7:01 train out of Bethpage and got into Penn Station around 8:00, late as usual. I headed over to Isabella’s and spent the morning with her, always a good time. Her brother is staying with her so I got to meet him, very nice guy. Around 1:00 I headed down to meet Kim for lunch. We went to this little place by her office and I had a delicious sandwich with grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce and olive oil. From there I went over to visit with my friend Barbara, the guy at the front desk in her building called up and said that she wasn’t there so I sat in the lobby. Around 4:25 I got a message from her asking if I got stuck somewhere and I said that I had been in the lobby since 3:50. She came down and got me and had a word with the guy at the front desk! We had a nice visit and are going to have lunch in January. After I left there I headed down to The Ink Pad to get ready for my Tags class. One of Michael’s friends from Brasil is in Manhattan and she came to the class. We had a nice time as always. Here is a picture of the happy class working on their tags…

TIP December Tags Class

And here is a picture of Carol and I…

TIP Carol and I

After class Carol waited with me because she was going the same way as I was so we took the Subway together and I made sure that she headed in the right direction back to her hotel. I made the train at Penn by 1 minute only the get home late because the were delays due to an unauthorized vehicle on the track in New Hyde Park. I finally got home around 11:00, had a cup of coffee and went to bed!

Thankfully I had made my card for today’s post on Monday night and it’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Traditional Christmas colors! My card starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the front with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. Down the right side is a thin strip of Cherry Cobbler. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Ice Gold Curious Metallic that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Craft Dies. My greeting and trees are from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered the slope to the card with Foam Tape. The trees are heat embossed with more Silver Pearl on Mossy Meadow and cut out with my Paper Snips. The tree trunks are Soft Suede and they and the middle tree are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The other two tress are adhered with Foam Tape and that’s my card done! I love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, so subtle yet neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I’ll have the tags that we made in class for you tomorrow! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂
