Good morning! Happy Sunday to you all! How is everyone’s weekend so far? Mine is going pretty well. The party yesterday for my friend Tony’s was a lot of fun. My friend Kim Doi, my daughter Taylor and I snuck out last night, put the top down in the car and went for a ride down to Long Beach. We had nice long walk on the boardwalk, about 3 miles. The weather was perfect yesterday and it looks nice out today too.

Today’s post is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time for the now bi-weekly challenge we have a sketch challenge…

Nice and simple and I thought the perfect sketch for me to use my Floral Frames Framelits Dies. The base of my card is Rose Red Card Stock and to that I added a piece of the Floral District Designer Series Paper. I stamped the image from the Daydream Medallions in Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry and cut them out and a piece of coordinating card stock for each with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies. I used my Bone Folder to slightly curl the edges of the stamped images. The middle of the Tangerine Tango one has a stamped image from the Lacey & Lovely Stamp Set punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and the Rich Razzleberry one has an image from the A Fitting Occasion Stamp Set punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. The Fleur De Lis is cut out with my Paper Snips. All of the elements are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I took a piece of 1/2″ Baja Breeze Card Stock and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the thank you from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Rich Razzleberry and then scored it to make it pop up a little for a raised ribbon look. I love the bold look of the card and hope it inspires you. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!]

Hello there! How are you today? I’m good now that it has finally stopped raining and the sun is out. It rained all day yesterday, that fine rain that doesn’t justify an umbrella but too if you don’t have one you get soaked! I hope that you are experiencing nice weather where you are. So, today is the day that I will pick the winner of the blog candy and it will be announced tomorrow morning. Thank you for your comments! On to today’s card that is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time is a color challenge…

What a very patriotic choice of colors. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Real Red from the Brights Stack Designer Series Paper. I ran a pice of Night Of Navy Card Stock through my Big Shot using the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to put on top of that. The image and “Best” are from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set and are stamped in Night Of Navy and Real Red. The “Best” is punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and the image is cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies to cut out the ribbon in Real Red and adhered it on the stamped ribbon. Both pieces are mounted on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The friend is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is stamped in Night Of Navy and backed with a piece of Night Of Navy Card Stock. This color combination works great with the stamp sets and I hope that you like the finished card. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

PPA 135 and Sneak Peek

Good Sunday morning to everyone. I hope that you are having nice weather and enjoying your weekend wherever you may be. I had a nice ride with the top down in the car today! It’s supposed to be nice here tomorrow too. Today’s card is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge and we have this sketch to work with…

I wanted to give you a bunch of sneak peeks with this card and I have done just that. I started with a base of Summer Starfruit* Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Midnight Muse* Card Stock, placing it in the middle, and left 1/2″ border. I used the new Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies** to cut out the piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper**. I also used them to cut out the stamped image from the Layered Labels Stamp Set** which I stamped in Midnight Muse*. I cut another one the same size in Summer Starfruit* and place it behind. I used the Labels Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and then ran it through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped image is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Midnight Muse* and Summer Starfruit* across the top are both punched on the one edge with the Scallop Edge Border punch. For a little added texture I used the Perfect Backgrounds Texturz Plate*** on the Summer Starfruit* piece. I cut out some butterflies with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit in Midnight Muse and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them too. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Pals Paper Arts card and thanks for dropping by. Have a great Sunday!

PPA 134 and Sneak Peek

Happy Wednesday everyone! Wednesday is definitely one of the better days of the week. Once we are past it we only have two days left until the weekend! I’m a little behind on my challenge cards this week, I got wrapped up in making some cards for my friend Kim on Sunday night and I got thrown off but I’ll be back on track in no time! Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This weeks challenge is a color challenge…

I ‘m really liking the colors and I thought they would look great with one of the new stamp sets from the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog. The stamp set is called Betsy’s Blossoms (Sneak Peek) and it has a cute spring vibe to it. I started with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and I added a piece of Crumb Cake that I ran through my Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the large floral image from the set in Calypso Coral and punched it out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I stamped it again in So Saffron and punched that out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. The bird image is stamped in Baja Breeze and cut out with Paper Snips. They are all mounted on top of each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then stamped the flower image in Baja Breeze, Calypso Coral and So Saffron twice each and cut them out with my Paper Snips too. They are also mounted to the card on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Baja Breeze. I used the new Bitty Banners Framelits Dies (Sneak Peek) to cut it out. So there you have this weeks Pals Paper Arts card and a peek at a new stamp set and a new Framelit. I hope you like the card and thank you so much for stopping by!

Good morning everyone on this dreary Monday morning. My friend and I drove back from DC yesterday and it rained the entire time. It was 81 degrees on Saturday and sunny so we did get to have a nice day while we were there. Today’s card is for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch. They have given us this to work with…

I love to try and use only one stamp set to make a card every once in a while. For this card I used Artistic Etchings. The base of the card is Rose Red cut to 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and folded in half. I stamped the Eiffel Tower in Basic Black on Whisper White. I used my Paper Piercer and Mat Pack to add some Silver Mini Brads to the bottom edge. Two pieces of Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper in Basic Black are adhered to the left side. The filigree image is stamped in Rose Red and punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. I used the Circle Scissor Plus to cut out a piece of Basic Black at 2 1/4″ for the backing and mounted it on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also placed a Silver Mini Brad in the center. The greeting is also stamped in Rose Red and I used the 1″ Square Punch to flag the one end and mounted that too with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a finishing touch I stamped the key in Rose Red and cut it out with my Paper Snips. I love the classic simplicity of the card and hope you like it too. Thank you so much for dropping by and have a great day!

Happy Saturday morning to you all. Is everyone all ready for their Easter Egg Hunts and baskets filled with goodies? My brother and his fiancé are coming by tomorrow for a bit. I’m going to go over Wedding invitations with them so I can get started making them! I’m quite excited to be doing it, I know it will take a while but I can’t wait to get started! For today’s card I am posting this weeks Pals Paper Arts card. This week they have given us a color challenge…

I love all of the colors and I couldn’t wait to get started on my card. I wanted to use a set that I don’t use often and I don’t really see a lot of. I went with the Precious Butterflies Stamp Set from the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. It’s a Host(ess) set and is most likely only going to be available for a few more weeks. I started with a card base of Chocolate Chip. I then ran a piece of Certainly Celery through my Big Shot using the Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. All of the stamps, including the greetings, are from the Precious Butterflies Stamp Set and they are all stamped in Chocolate Chip, with a lighter touch for a distressed look. I punched the one image of the circle of butterflies out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. I cut the just for You out with my Paper Snips (all of the cutting is for my friend Sandy!) and mounted them on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped two of the large and three of the small butterflies on Pretty In Pink and cut those out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly flurry is also stamped on Pretty In Pink and cut out. They are all mounted to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The quote is backed with some more Pretty In Pink. I am so happy with the card and hope that you like it too. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your Saturday!

FRIDAY!! FRIDAY!! FRIDAY!! Yeah!! I loves me some Friday! Can you tell I’m happy that the week is over?! I’m really looking forward to the weekend, I don’t have a lot planned for a change so it might actually be a little relaxing. Pals Paper Arts has moved to a biweekly routine, I do miss the weekly ones but for this weeks sketch they give us this…

I wanted to use the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) but not the colors that coordinate with the suite. I opted for some Pear Pizzaz, Peach Parfait and Concord Crush. We will be saying goodbye to these colors in a few months and welcoming in some new ones so I am going to give them a good send-off. The base of the card is Pear Pizzaz and is left plain. I used a piece of Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack in Concord Crush (Retired) from a 6 x 6 stack that I got for winning the Blog Candy blowout on Pals last year. I love the paper with it’s diagonal stripes. The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set and is stamped in Concord Crush on Whisper White. I markered an image from the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) in Concord Crush, Pear Pizzaz and Peach Parfait and cut it out with my paper snips and popped it up on a Stampin’ Dimensional. The flagged ends were made using the 1″ Square Punch on Concord Crush and Whisper White. I stamped another image from Bright Blossoms in Pear Pizzaz and Peach Parfait and punched them out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and popped those up on Stampin’ Dimensionals too. I love the color combination with it’s muted spring look. I hope you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for dropping in. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Have a great FRIDAY!

PPA 130 & Winston!

Hello and welcome to Saturday! It’s rainy here on Long Island but that doesn’t matter because it’s the weekend! A wonderful friend of mine, Sandy, saw that the inspiration for yesterday’s card was my best friend Winston. Here he is in all of his cuteness…

He really is the best dog ever! He is a Mini Schnauzer and he is awesome! I love my Winnie!

Now on to the days post. This weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge asks you to use Lucky Limeade, Always Artichoke and a third color of your choice…

For my third color I went with Pool Party. The base of the card is Always Artichoke. I rounded the corners on it and everything else on the card with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. I used a piece of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration) for the background. A piece of Pool Party Card Stock is punched on one side with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I ran a piece of Soft Suede though the Big Shot using the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 Embossing Plates and adhered it to a piece of Very Vanilla. I put one of the 2011 – 2013 In Color Printed Brads in the upper left corner. The image is from the Funky Four Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede. I used one of the butterflies from the Host(ess) Set Precious Butterflies and stamped it in Pool Party. It’s backed with some Lucky Limeade and so is the greeting that is stamped in Soft Suede and is from another Host(ess) Set Perfect Words. I used a Stampin’ Write Marker in Pool Party to color in the dots on the mushrooms and the 11. So there you have this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. I really like the way it came out and hope that you do too. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Good morning and happy Sunday! How is everyones weekend so far? Mine is great! For this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge we had the following sketch to work with…

I love the clean a simple look of the sketch and I knew which set I was going to use right away. The Bordering On Romance Stamp Set coordinates with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies (both Occasions Mini) perfectly. I have had the set for a while but haven’t really used it that much. I markered the flowers with Riding Hood Red, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo Stampin’ Write Markers and did the same with the border. I colored in some of them and then used a blender pen and my Classic Stampin’ Pads to color in the larger flowers for a more subtle effect. The flowers were cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies, one of my favorites! I used Lucky Limeade from the card base and Island Indigo under the Label. A piece of Riding Hood Red Pleated Sating Ribbon and some Basic Jewels Pearls finish off the card. I hope you like the card and thanks as always for stopping by. Enjoy your Sunday!

Happy Superbowl Sunday to everyone! I hope everybody has some plans for the big game. I’m going over a friends house for some food and fun, oh and I think there is a football game on too! For this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge they ask you to use any red…

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching it’s the perfect color! Instead of a Valentine I choose to do a Birthday Card using Red Riding Hood, Whisper White and Basic Grey Card Stock. I used the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and some Versamark to heat emboss one of the images with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I punched the image out with the Blossom Punch and another one in Basic Grey. I used a 3/16″ Metallic Brad in Silver to hold them together. Using the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch I punched out a piece of Riding Hood Red and mounted the flower on it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the top half of the background I used a Riding Hood Red Marker and my Color Spritzer tool and the bottom half is piece of Twitterpated Designer Series Paper. The greeting is from Happiest Birthday Wishes and is stamped in Basic Grey and mounted on a piece of Basic Grey Card Stock. A piece of Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon finishes off the card. I hope that everyone enjoys the Superbowl and thank you for stopping by. 🙂
