Pals Paper Arts 258

Happy 4th of July my friends! I had a very nice day yesterday, work was quiet and I even snuck out early! When I got home I worked on a few projects and ran some errands. Around 6:30 I stopped by to see Brian and Kim before heading over to Sue’s to have dinner with Michael. We had pizza and garlic knots. This morning we are off to Manhattan, Michael is working at The Ink Pad downtown and I’ll be there with him so if you are going to be in the city today come by and say hello, we’d love to see you!

For today’s post I have a fun card for you for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I have a ton of Lawn Fawn sets from class, it’s time that I started giving them a little love! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Night of Navy. My background is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Ovals to cut out a piece of Night of Navy for the frame, Window Sheet and some Fun Foam. They are adhered to one another with SNAIL. I put some of the Clear Sequins in the shaker that Michael brought me from Brasil and then adhered the frame to the card. The cactus and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Suck on You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the cactus in Cucumber Crush and the pot and greeting in Watermelon Wonder. The cactus and pot are cut out with the coordinating Lawn Fawn Stuck on You Lawn Cuts Dies. Some Foam Tape adheres all of the pieces to the card. I do really enjoy a shaker card and love the fun cactus! Pals Paper Arts 257

Yes! I got my “new to me” car yesterday and I love it! Three hours was spent at the DMV, but that’s the price you pay! I left work at 12:00 and headed over to the car place to get the paperwork and then off to DMV. My parents were there with me for a while and then Heather came up with some Starbucks and the line really moved once she got there! We went back to my house to drop off my old car and then headed up to the dealer to pick up the new one. We stopped back at my house and dropped off Heather’s car and went for a nice ride! It handles completely differently from the Chrysler, it’s nice and sporty. Later on Heather and I went to Monty’s for some pizza and then we met some peeps from my work at a bar to say good bye to Thomas and Keri who are leaving. When I got home Taylor called and asked if she could borrow my old car because her alternator went in hers, talk about perfect timing! So yes, I had a very nice Friday! Here is a picture of the new wheels!

Yeah I think I’m pretty flash in it! LOL!

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I took some liberties with the sketch this time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Calypso Coral. I used the Project Life Corner Rounder on both the right corners of the card base and the background. The background is a piece of Mint Macaroon with a strip of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack down the left side. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die to cut it out. Behind it a piece of Pacific Point with both ends flagged and under that is some Silver Thread. The flagged strip and the greeting are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I’ll say it again, that Pretty Petals DSP Stack has some great colors and neat patterns in it don’t you think and I love that Ombre Ink! Pals Paper Arts 256

Another fun filled day! I haven’t gotten a lot of sleep these past few days and I was feeling it a little yesterday but I managed to perk up and make it through! Work was a little busy but I got a call from my dad that he had found a car that he wanted me to go and look at so I snuck out of work at 3:00. We went to the dealer and I test drove a 2004 Saab 9-3 Arc Convertible. I pick it up next Thursday! Yay! After that I picked up Taylor and Michael and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for card class. The Thursday class is a nice laid back one and we always have a good time. Michael took care of the social media posts and talked about his upcoming classes. It ended around 9:30 and I dropped him off and then came home and made today’s card. Like I said another fun filled day!

Here is a little group shot of us from class last night! A few people had to leave early but we’ll get them next time!

No on to the post. The card that I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I kept very true to the sketch and also kept the card really simple. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Triple Banner Punch to flag the ends of two pieces of Basic Black and a piece of Tip Top Taupe. The black ones are adhered with SNAIL and the taupe one with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Bravo! Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. I used a combination of SNAIL and Fun Foam to adhere it to the card. Finally, three clear sequins that Michael brought me from Brasil are adhere with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium next to the greeting. I really do like the simplicity of the card, we need them every so often right?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Mojo 401, Freshly Made Sketches 190 & Pals Paper Arts 255

Today is catch up day for me! It was quite hot here yesterday and muggy again but that just means more convertible time! Work was busy and after I had dinner I came home and started working on a bunch of projects because I got way behind this week! Around 8:00 I ran over to see my friend Sandy for a bit. She had ordered some new things from My Favorite Things and there was one little goodie in there for me! I got back from Sandy’s around 10:00 and finished up my projects. This morning I’m going to head over to Scrap-A-Latte and pick up the stamps for this month’s card class which is on Thursday and Friday! Yikes! I think that Taylor is going to take a ride with me provided that she is up! Today’s post is lengthy, three cards for you this Saturday morning!

Up first is my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Still can’t believe that I’m on the Design Team now!! Here it is…

This card has lots of new goodies from the new 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the entire front with a piece of Very Vanilla. My background is also a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. On the right is a piece of Calypso Coral with a piece of “Vintage” Old Olive 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon. I adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card with SNAIL. The middle panel is a piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper 6X6 Stack backed with some Basic Black, it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL and tucked under ribbon. My greeting and butterfly are from the Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is heat embossed in “Vintage” Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum, the bottom is flagged with the top folded over and tucked behind the center panel. For the butterfly I stamped him in Mint Macaroon and Pacific Point on Very Vanilla and cut him out with the Butterfly Thinlits. The body is a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine, I folded a piece in half and the wound some more around it securing with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A few Basic Jewels Pearls are adhered to the butterfly and some Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy Sequins are scattered about. I love that Brick Wall Embossing Folder and the DSP is great!

Next up is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I decided to turn it on it’s side and make a wedding card, nope, still not done with them! The card base for this one is the same Neenah 110lb. On the front is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Geometric Next Level Embossing Folder. Across the bottom is a piece of Blushing Bride that I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum. Some SNAIL and Fun Foam adheres it to the card. The wreath and branches are from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in more Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum and cut out with the matching Simon Says Stamp Lovely Day Dies. Some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape adhere them to the card. Around the greeting is a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins. I’m really loving the new Next Level embossing folders and the Platinum Embossing powder is definitely one of my favorites!

Today’s final card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I just had to play with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder again! The card base for this is the same as the first two, this one is covered in a piece of Marina Mist. The background is a piece of Sahara Sand that is embossed with that Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is heat embossed in “Vintage” Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Marina Mist. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut it out. The Flourish is the new My Favorite Things Pierced Fancy Flourish Die and is cut from Early Espresso and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Medium Matte. I used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere the greeting to the card. I thought it needed a little something more so I punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack from Marina Mist and used more Multi-Matte Medium to adhere them to the card. Finally some Basic Jewels Pearls are adhered to the centers of all of the flowers including the ones on the greeting. Like I said, I love the Brick Wall Folder!

Pals Paper Arts 254

Hello there my friends and a very happy Friday to you! Thankfully we didn’t get any rain yesterday and it was actually not too bad, we even had some breaks of sun! Today it’s supposed to be overcast but no rain again and the weekend is to be nice too! It was another busy day at the office and straight from there I went to see Renee. I missed her! We FaceTimed with Michael for a bit and then I went to my parent’s to have some dinner. From there I headed over to see Brian and Kim for a bit with Taylor. Love catching up with them, they are just the best! When I came home I sat down and made my card for today. Another full but fun day! Tonight I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill, not sure where we are going yet but it will be a good time no matter what!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

Thankfully I have some Strawberry Slush left! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel is a piece of So Saffron. I used the Simon Says Stamp Ring Frame Wafer Thin Die to cut out some Strawberry Slush. The rings are adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. The Simon Says Stamp Circle Smile Die is cut from So Saffron and Soft Suede, I adhered it to the circle that was cut out with the Ring Frame. Some of the other circles along with the smile are adhered back into the frame with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Soft Suede and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A strip of paper from the Park Lane Designer Series Paper Pack is adhered to the card base on the right. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins are randomly adhered to the card and that finishes the card for today! I really do enjoy that Ring Frame and love that Circle Smile Die too! Freshly Made Sketches 188 & Pals Paper Arts 253

Well, my trend of sleeping in on Saturdays continues! Not that 7:30 is late but it is for me! Yesterday was another nice day, warm, a little humid but the sun felt nice! My friend Danielle stopped by after work to pick up two birthday cards. I am being good and using ones that I already have in my stash! I Skyped with Andrea for a while and we crafted together. I made my two cards for today and she worked on some swaps. Taylor stopped by and watched some Netflix, she is a little addicted to it! I spent a little time watching TV and then called it a day. Today I’m not sure what I’m doing, which sometimes is nice!

So of the two cards that I have for you today my first one is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Thanks to Jen B. for choosing my card for last week’s challenge! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Early Espresso for the frame and also a piece of Window Sheet. Thin strips of foam tape around the frame adheres it to the card. Some American Crafts Gold Glitter Paper is backed with some Stick-it and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die and then adhered to the window. My flowers are created with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tiny Tattered Florals Thinlits from Cherry Cobbler and the leaves from Old Olive. They are adhered to the window frame with Glue Dots. I was going to make it a shaker card but I really like the way the hello just seems to float above the card with nothing behind it!

The second card I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

A neat sketch and I’m loving that funky edge! The card base on this one is also Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack and I just used a ruler to draw the angled edge and cut it with my Paper Snips. My panel in the middle is a piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Flag Card Die. The greeting is from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Island Indigo. I adhered the card to the base with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flag at the top is also cut out with the same die from a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. I doubled up the Fun Foam to adhere it and give it a little more dimension. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects gives the card some sparkle. I love the simplicity and that funky edge!

Pals Paper Arts 252

Ahh… the sweetness of Friday is upon us! This was a long week, lots going on and I am thinking the weekend will be a busy one too! I got a lot accomplished at work and the weather was cool and overcast again but they say that most of the weekend will be nice. I ran to Scrap-A-Latte straight from work to talk about next month’s stamp sets with Renee. We have narrowed it down to three companies! LOL! Not much progress! I came home and stopped my the Parent’s to have some dinner and then to my house to work on my card for today. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then my crafty friend Sandy stopped by! We talked about the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog and then did a show and tell of the other goodies that we have recently acquired. Always great to see Sandy! Tonight I’m out for some dinner with Anthony and Bill and then we are going to meet up with Marissa and one of her friends and go to the bar for al little while. Should be a very good way to start the weekend! What are your plans for the upcoming holiday?!

My craftiness last night yielded my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I wanted to keep the card simple and use some new goodies that I recently acquired! The base is Whisper White and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of the NEW Mint Macaroon Card Stock that I embossed with the “Vintage” Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, still one of my favorites! I recently got some new dies from DiesByDave on Etsy that coordinate with the By The Tide Stamp Set. His dies are great and if you haven’t been to his shop in a while you need to pay him a visit, he has added some new dies! I heat embossed the shells in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on the NEW Tip Top Taupe and then used the dies to perfectly cut them out. A little Foam Tape adheres them to the background. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I adhered it to the shells with a little Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Like I said a very simple but elegant card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Paper Players 245, Freshly Made Sketches 186 & Pals Paper Arts 251

Yes, you read correctly, you get three cards today! Not a bad way to start a Monday?! My day yesterday was just lovely! The weather was perfect, I got some projects finished, took ride in the convertible and ran some errands. A very nice Sunday indeed! I even got to relax a little and chat with the people upstairs. I finished the night off with some Chicken Tikka Masala and an Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Beer! Everyday should be like yesterday! How was your Sunday? I hope that it was just as good as mine!

So back to the three posts, I honestly don’t know how I got so behind this week! But I wanted to get them all in, hence the three cards! We’ll start off with the usual Monday card for the Paper Players…

Despite my manliness I do enjoy making a nice girly card from time to time! The base of this card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I flagged a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. On top of that is a White Tea Lace Paper Doily. The floral piece is cut from some American Crafts Glitter Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Coin Envelope Die to cut out a piece of vellum to serve as the pocket for my greeting which is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. I punched a hole in the top and threaded some Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine though it and slipped it into the little vellum pocket. A few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some more of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me complete the card. The pink, pearls and doily make it girly right?!

Next up we have my card for his week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I used the sketch in a not so literal way this week. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and the greeting is stamped in Soft Suede using the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I then adhered some Fun Foam to the back and then adhered it to the card. All of the images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch Photopolymer Stamp Set, I used the coordinating Bird Frame Cuts to cut them all out. For the bird I used Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon, his feet are Hello Honey, the flowers are Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral and the branches are Soft Suede. A little White Signo Gel Pen and Sakura Black Gel Pen make his eye a little more realistic. All of the pieces are then adhered to the background with either Foam Tape or SNAIL. I just love that bird and can’t wait to try him out in other colors!

And last but certainly not least is my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I got to use some new goodies from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog which you can order from starting June 1st! The card base for this one is Whisper White and I ran a piece of the Vintage Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape down the left side. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere it to the card. The flag on top of that is a piece of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. The butterfly is from one of the NEW Host Sets called Floral Wings. I stamped the butterfly in Daffodil Delight, the flowers in Melon Mambo and the leaves in Pacific Point. Since the dies aren’t available yet I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some pearls go down the body and a few random Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around the card. Finally my greeting is form the same set and it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. A fun, bright, cheery card even if I do say so myself!

Pals Paper Arts 249

Hmm… what day is it?! Why I believe that it’s Friday!! And it’s a very good Friday, if all goes according to plan I will have my nice shiny new Apple Watch in my hands later on today! I can’t wait to see all of the neat things that it does! Yesterday was chilly, sort of March like! Umm… Spring… where did you get to?! LOL! After I had dinner I came home and worked on my card while FaceTiming with Michael. He suggested some Blackberry Bliss on today’s card and I wanted Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe! You’ll have to ket me know what you think of those colors! I have a sweet little picture of Daniel to share with you. Yesterday was St. George’s Day in England so Erika put him in his little England shirt!

Just when you think that he can’t get any cuter! I am little biased though!

Now for the rest on today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

Yes, the base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Pistachio Pudding. I ran a piece of the PinkFresh Studios Peach and Mint Ombre Airmail Washi Tape down the left side. My panel is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is one of my favorites from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Mum and You’re Amazing Dies cut out from Crisp Cantaloupe and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The words are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh, Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins finish the card. I actually really do like the Blackberry Bliss with the Pistachio and Cantaloupe! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Pals Paper Arts 248

Hi there! I’m a little late today, another Friday night out with the gang and it was 2:00am before I got to bed last night! I had a great day yesterday! I had lunch with some friends at work and then came home and made a card quickly before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for card class with Taylor. I got to play with some new stuff for next month’s class before we had a little dinner with Renee and Angie. There is a Panrea across the street so I ran over and picked it up. Class was so much fun! Brian and Andrew were there last night and Sandy stopped by for a bit too! Everyone had fun and we are thinking that we will need to do two classes next month as it’s already filled up! After class Andrew followed Taylor and I to the bar and we met Marissa, Fred, Anthony and Bill there. Taylor took my car home, so nice to have a child that can drive! Brian had stopped to get some food so he got there not long after us. We had a lot of laughs and I went home with Bill and Anthony. They dropped of Marissa and then me. Nothing like a good card class and then some drinks with friends after!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I did a nice bright quick card! The base is Melon Mambo Card Stock cut to 5″ x 5″. I used a piece of the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper for the background. My panel in the middle is the library card from the Lawn Fawn Check This Out Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used some SNAIL and Fun Foam to adhere the library card to the card. The fun glasses are cut from a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the MFT Die-namics Geek is Chic Die and heat embossed with Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I added some Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh sequins to the library card for some sparkle and that completes the card. I love the glasses and the nice bright Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper, they make for a fun nerdy card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge!
