Freshly Made Sketches 215

Ahh yes… Friday is still my favorite day of the week! I had a very nice day yesterday! I got some craftiness in in the morning and then went to have lunch with Heather. I stopped at the deli to pick up sandwiches and bumped into Brian! After lunch I came back home and stopped at my parent’s to see Daniel for a bit. Later on Heather came by and we ran up to BJ’s to get some goodies for Thirsty Thursday! She dropped me off and I followed her back to her house. I love Thirsty Thursday, we always have a great time and a really good laugh! By the time I got back home it was 12:00 and I was ready for bed! This morning I’m off to get a haircut and then I have some serious crafty things to get done!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A banner! I do love a banner! LOL! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the top is a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Paper Pad, a strip of Blushing Bride and a thin strip of Gold Glimmer Paper. They are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My banner is a piece of Crumb Cake cut out with the Banners Framelits. I used the Concord & 9th Being Classy Dies cut out the kind and then stamped the word from the Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Night of Navy in the negative part. The banner is the adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I die cut the Fun Foam with the kind die to make it sturdier. The so is also from the same set and is stamped again in Night of Navy on the banner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins finish the card! I love the font in the Being Classy Stamp Set and the coordinating dies are awesome! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Paper Players 273 & New Goodies!

Another rainy day means another crafty day! I managed to get a few projects finished in the morning and then I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little bit. When I got back home there were some goodies waiting in the mailbox for me! I love new stamps and I especially love it when they are from a new company! I used some of the new stuff on today’s card and little project! After dinner I went over to see Heather for a bit, she had a procedure done on her back and I wanted to keep her company for a little while. She also needed her wreath fixed so I brought over the hot glue gun and took card of that! Upon arriving back at my house I sat down and played for a while. I have been crafting later and later, the creativity either comes early in the morning or late at night lately. I’ll take creativity whenever I can get it!

My card and project that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Ahh… a Tic-Tac-Toe board from Sandy! You know how I can’t resist trying to cover the entire board, let’s see if I managed to! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background consists of a piece of Night of Navy and a piece of paper from a 6×6 pad that I picked up while I was in London. The pad is called Silent Night and it’s from First Edition by TrimCraft. A piece of Gold 1/8″ Metallic Ribbon is adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the card with some Easy Runner Grand Adhesive. The HAPPY is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Gray and adhered over the ribbon with Foam Tape. My Christmas is cut out from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Christmas Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the same die and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The snowflakes are from a new die set from Concord & 9th called Take a Bough. They are cut from American Crafts Glitter Paper and also adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are adhered in the middles of the snowflakes and finish off the card. Now that super cute Christmas Tree is also created with the Take a Bough Dies and is cut from Garden Green. After the branches are all assembled (there is a great video HERE showing you how to do that!) I slid them onto a bamboo skewer that I colored with Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink. My star is cut from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper twice and adhered back to back on the top of the skewer. Around the tree is a strand of the Concord & 9th 3MM Red Sequin Strand, it’s looks just like garland! I LOVE that little tree and the fact that you can also use the dies to make snowflakes is just cool! Get it… snowflakes… cool! LOL! Freshly Made Sketches 214 & Some Crafty Things!

It was a gorgeous day here yesterday! So nice in fact that I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte in the convertible! The day began nicely too! I asked Taylor to make sure that I was up by 9:00 and she did just that. There was even a cup of coffee on my nightstand! What a lucky dad I am! I got a few things done that I wanted to get finished but I was no where near as productive as I wanted to be. Today I’m off to Manhattan for a day at The Ink Pad! And at the end of the post I have listed a few of my favorite craft products! Most are inexpensive and would make great stocking stuffers! Before we get to my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches I want to thank Karren for choosing me as her Prince for last week’s sketch! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now, here is this week’s sketch…

I stayed really true to the sketch! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My flagged strip is a piece of Red Felt that I adhered to some Solar White 80lb with Tombo Extreme Adhesive to make it a little more sturdy. The Merry and snowflake are both cut out from Solar White 80lb four times using the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees and Nadine Snowflake Dies. I adhered them to each other with Elmers Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The snowflake is then adhered to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape and Multi-Matte Medium and the merry with just Multi-Matte Medium. Three Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I love the dimension from the layered die cuts and the super simple look of this card! Paper Players 272

Happy Thanksgiving peeps! It’s supposed to be a nice day in the 60’s here and I’m looking forward to a little dinner with my parents and Taylor. I enjoyed my day yesterday by crafting for a bit in the morning, hanging out with Heather in the middle of the day and crafting some more last night. Heather made some scone cakes while I worked on my little on-line project and it smelled so good! I helped her out a little and played with the kitties. I also caught up on Limitless last night since I missed it on Tuesday. Still loving that show! Are you all set for today?!

One of my cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank Joanne for choosing my card as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to their week’s sketch…

I see a little tag on there! LOL! The card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Altitude 6×6 Pad from last year. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A strip of My Colors Pale Aqua goes across from the left and is flagged on the right with the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Gifts of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb and I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink to color it before adhering it to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The tag is cut from some Recollections Adhesive Cork Sheet that is adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Dies. I tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine thought the top and also adhered the tag to the panel with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A drop of Multi-Matte Medium adheres the twine to the card. The snowflake is cut from more Pale Aqua with the Simon Says Stamp Maryanne Snowflake and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Marshmallow and Aquamarine Sequins scattered from top left to bottom right complete the card. I love the swoop of the twine and the sequins, they give the card a little “motion”! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! SIP Challenge 24 – Colors!

So, I got up late again yesterday! I have to stop that! LOL! I did have a very productive day despite my late start. I went on a cleaning frenzy! All of the stuff that has spilled out of the Stampin’ Galley into the living room has been reorganized and put into the Stampin’ Galley! I spent a few hours making room and rearranging things so that it would all fit! I now have my living room back and even put up my extremely non-traditional Christmas tree! I like to let it settle for a few days before I decorate it. As soon as I have it decorated I will post a picture. I’m warning you, it’s VERY non-traditional! But when it comes to Christmas, that’s me! Later on after dinner I took a ride up to Michaels and Target with Taylor. I had a few things to get and found some things that I didn’t need! Isn’t that always the way it is?!

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We have some fun colors for you…

It reminded Carolyn of Summer, but that’s because in Australia they are heading into Summer! Me, I thought of Christmas! I wanted to play with a few new goodies that I received in the mail yesterday so I used them for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with a piece of Black 110lb covering the front. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I used the Simon Says Stamp Chisholm Wreath Die to cut out a piece of Cucumber Crush for the wreath and Watermelon Wonder for the bow and berries. They are adhered to the background with 2-Way Glue. The greeting is cut from Watermelon Wonder and Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Dies. I adhered them to one another and the card with more 2-Way Glue. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium in between the berries. I added some Glossy Accents to the berries for little more dimension. A quick brush of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over the Merry and the card is done! I love that intricate wreath and the bow and berries that go with it! November Lawn Fawn Class at Scrap-A-Latte!

Phew! Another week done! Time is just flying by… or is just me?! I enjoyed my day yesterday after my headache left! I went over to visit my friend Christina, her son Tyler and her sister Jen. It was the first time that I have seen her house and it’s really nice and really big! After that I came home and puttered around the house before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte. Danielle came early and we went over to Red Robin to have dinner. I miss seeing her at work and it was great to catch up! Card class was fun as always and I have the projects that we made to share with you today. This morning I’m heading into Manhattan for a day at The Ink Pad which I always enjoy! Paper Players 271

The sun came out for a little while yesterday and today it’s supposed to be rainy. Brian stopped by yesterday to work on a little project that he is making and I worked on my card for today. After he left I ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to cut for class. From there it was back home and then over to my parent’s for dinner. It really is convenient living right next door! When I got back home I watched the Zedd True Colors concert from San Francisco on YouTube and then watched a few crafty videos. I also continued the purge for a little bit. This morning I’m back over to Scrap-A-Latte for two classes today, I’ll run home in between and get a little crafty on! What’s on for you today?

The card that I made yesterday is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to use! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Night of Navy covering the entire front. The stamp is from Hero Arts and is called Snowy Scene. I inked it with Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink and stamped it on a piece of Solar White 80lb. My greeting is two parts, the die cut is from the Ellen Hutson Essential by Ellen Zipper Panel Set and is cut from another piece of Night of Navy and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The stamped part is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set and is inked with the middle of the Ombre Pad. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To give it a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the stamped image. I LOVE that Snowy Scene Stamp, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it and it looks so cool stamped in the Pool to Navy Ombre Ink! SIP Challenge 23 – A Sketch!

Another lovely day here on Long Island! I was at Scrap-A-Latte all day, I worked on some cards, practiced calligraphy with a nib and ink (my fingers are a little black!) and had a visit from Brian! I also got to speak to Michael for a while, so good to actually talk to him! When I came home Daniel was still at my parent’s and he filled me on the events of the day while I ate dinner. He’s so animated when he tells his stories! From there it was home to get crafty for a bit before getting ready for bed.

Moving right along with the week it’s Tuesday and that means another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I do love a tag on a sketch! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background strip is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Altitude Collection 6×6 Paper Pad. A strip of Silver Glimmer Paper goes across the lower half of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 110lb and Blackberry Bliss. I ran the White tag though the Big Shot again with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake Die to get the negative of the die cut. The white tag is then adhered to the Blackberry Bliss one. I stamped my greeting and snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate ink. A piece of cord from the Lawn Trimmings Vivid Lawn Trimmings set is tied though the top and the tag is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the tag and complete the card! I do love a negative die cut and the non-traditional colors in the paper! Golden Christmas Skyline

It was a windy day in Manhattan yesterday but still a very nice day! The sun was out and it wasn’t too cold. I took the train in and then the subway up to see my friends Mary and Jon again. After that I took the subway down to The Ink Pad and spent a little time with Anna. From there it was back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. I came home and called my friend Maureen to see if she wanted to take a ride with me to get a pair of boots. We stopped at the shoe store and Wal-Mart before getting some pizza. The pizza place is right next to A.C. Moore so I had to stop in there and I ran into my friend Melissa and her two children. We chatted for a bit and got caught up. While browsing through the rest of the store I spotted the Heidi Swapp Minc Mini Machine and it was only $39.99, well I could;t pass up that bargain! LOL! After I got home I sat down and started playing with it and that’s what inspired my card for today!

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the bottom is a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the greeting from the “Vintage” Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and that is adhered to the card with SNAIL. The skyline is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb that I covered with toner from my laser printer by printing a black page. I then used the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts to cut out that toner covered paper and then ran it through the Minc Mini with a piece of iCraft Gold Deco Foil. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins scattered around the greeting and it’s finished! I LOVE that skyline covered in the gold foil! Fab Friday 77

And the end to another week is upon us. Mine was a good one and I hope that yours was too! I stopped by Heather’s for breakfast yesterday morning with Brian before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte. I watched the store for Renee while her and Angie did some “shopping”. I worked on some of my projects for this month’s card class and also updated the computer. From there I headed back home and went next door to my parent’s and played with Daniel for a while. He really is a smart little boy! I know I’m biased but you can have a conversation with him and he just loves to talk! He knows his colors already too! Little Genius! After we had dinner I came home and made a card and then headed back over to Heather’s for a bit. She’s going to Florida with her boyfriend on Saturday and won’t be back until Wednesday. I needed to get in my time before she goes! LOL! This morning I’m off to get a haircut and then I have some errands to run. What are you all up to today?

Not only is it Friday but it’s also a Fab Friday! This week we have some nice Fall colors for you…

I used that giving thanks die again, I love that die! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder for my background. Next we have a piece of Blackberry Bliss that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. On top of that is another piece of Ivory 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks Card Die. The image is from the Hero Arts Fall Trees Stamp Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the tree in Soft Suede and the leaves in Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. The card is then adhered with some more Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze Sequins complete the card. A simple and colorful Fall thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for our Fab Friday color challenge!
