Paper Craft Crew 170

Already halfway through the week! Like they promised yesterday it rained here all day. I did run over to Scrap-A-Latte and I spent some time with Renee. We went over this month’s sets for class and I picked out some paper. After I got home I watched a little YouTube on my Apple TV and then finally started to straighten up the Stampin’ Galley. There is still a lot more that needs to be done but I finally did start! I went over to my parent’s for dinner and Daniel discovered that he really likes corn, he had about four helpings! Back to my house and some craftiness before watching Limitless and then speaking to Carolyn on Skype for a little bit before calling it a night.

Today I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS170 DT Sketch 11-11-2015

I played with some Hero Arts goodies to make my card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used another piece for the background. It’s created with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry and a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The flowers are form the Hero Arts Let Love Grow Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Hot Mama, Green Apple, Green Leaf and Hero Arts Unicorn Ink right onto the background. Next up are a strip of Blackberry Bliss and a some Vellum, both are flagged and adhered to the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Butterflies Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. Some Simon Says Stamp Duckling, Rosie Cheeks and Teeny Bikini are used to stamp it and it’s cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. A few pieces of Foam Tape hold it in place. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cuts. I cut it out from a piece of Black 110lb and Black Fun Foam, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. There has to be some sequins so I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix and Summer Mix randomly around the images. I needed a nice bright card to help chase away all of the rain and I think this one is perfect! I hope that you enjoy my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take a trip over to the blog to see the rest of the Design Team’s cards to inspire you! Thank you so much for taking some time out of your to come by and see what I’m up to! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 22 – Free for Fall!

I had another fun filled day at The Ink Pad yesterday with Anna and Jane. I made some samples and helped out with a custom stamp. I really do enjoy spending time there, such great store and such nice people! When I got home I had a ham sandwich for dinner and then puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit. Its supposed to rain today so I’m going to go over and see Renee for a bit. The products for this month’s card class have come in so I need to start making samples and getting ready for that! I also have some errands to run and lots of organizing to do. Should be another busy day!

The winners were announced for last week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge yesterday. What an amazing collection of cards we had in the gallery last week! I want to personally thank all that participated, your cards were awesome! With that said it’s time for this week’s challenge…

SIP Challenge 22 Theme Fall 800

This week we ask you to make a fall themed project! It can be a card, a tag, gift box, place card… anything that you want! I decided on a pack of cards. The bases are Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folders, there are two in the pack, one that is woodgrain and another has trees. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Card Die. My leaves are cut from some My Colors Bronze and The Paper Cut White Gold Curious Metallic using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves. I adhered them to the Vellum with Foam Tape and then used Score Tape hidden behind the leaves to adhere the Vellum to the card. For a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze and Ellen Hutson Iridescent Ivory Sequins. I think that four cards and envelopes given to someone that you are going to see for Thanksgiving would make a nice little gift, don’t you? I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Pay a visit to the blog and check out what the rest of my Team has come up with to inspire you! We can’t wait to see your projects in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 423

Another busy but great day yesterday! I headed into Manhattan around 7:45 and found a parking space on 89th between 2nd and 3rd. I walked over to 89th and West End Avenue through the park and didn’t get lost! I think it’s the first time that I have made it through Central Park without getting lost! LOL! I have a mental block with getting through the park for some reason! I stopped for some Starbucks before meeting up with Jon and Mary for a bit to catch up. After, I walked back over to the car and headed back out to Great River for Daniel’s Birthday party. It was at George Martin’s Strip Steak Restaurant. The food was delicious and it was nice to see everyone. After the party I stopped by my brother’s new house, it’s nice and really big! From there it was back home and time to veg for a little bit. Tomorrow morning I’m back into the city to help Anna with some stuff at The Ink Pad. Here is a nice picture of the reservoir in Central Park…

CP Reservoir 11-2015

The trees are just starting to change color, so pretty!

Hmm… it’s Monday, the start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo423

As soon as I saw the square with the circle I immediately thought shaker! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background and the panel I used two pieces of paper from an old My Minds Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas. My banner is a piece of Real Red. For the shaker I cut out two pieces of Ivory 110lb and a piece of Acetate with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. One of the Ivory pieces then has a circle cut out of the center with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the Acetate to the back of the one with the circle cut out, added two layers of Foam Tape to the back, filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Mix Sequins and Gold Seed Beads and then adhered the other rectangle to the back. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive then holds it to the card. The poinsettia and leaves are from the Hero Arts October Monthly Kit and are stamped with the inks that came in the kit except the center of the poinsettia which is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks and Duckling Ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered the poinsettia and the leaves to the shaker portion with Foam Tape and SNAIL. Finally, my greeting is stamped in Real Red from the Simon Says Stamp Ornaments Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower left corner. I’m still loving the poinsettia from the Hero Kit, so glad that I got it while it was still available! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and take a peek at the rest of the Designer’s cards and enter one of yours into the gallery! Thanks, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a merry, happy Monday! 🙂

Joyful Snowmen and The Ink Pad!

Hello and welcome to the start of the weekend! The weather in Manhattan was absolutely gorgeous yesterday! It was in the 70’s all day even last night at midnight it was still 70! Oh how I wish this was going to the be the winter! LOL! I spent the day at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara and then had my first class there featuring Lawn Fawn. We fit 10 students into the store, it was cozy but fun! You can see all of them in the pictures below diligently working on their cards. I had a great time and I hope that they did too! Can’t wait for the next one!

Today I have one of the cards that we made last night. It’s a fun simple holiday card. The base is Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of the Lawn Fawn Ice Blue Bokeh 12×12 Paper. I used the Lawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out two more pieces of Solar White 80lb, one is left as is and another is cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. That one is adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the full size piece with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All of the images are from the Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the Brother Scan-n-Cut to cut the images out. My greeting is the Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy Die cut from Red and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card! I hope that you e enjoy the card as much as the class did! Thank you for checking in today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 211

Hmm.. what day is today?! Why it’s FRIDAY of course! I had a busy Thursday. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit before coming back home to have dinner with my parents, Daniel and Jason. After dinner I ran over to BJ’s with Heather and then a quick stop at Michaels before briefly coming back home to make my card for today. Then it was off to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday with Stephanie. Today I’m off to Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad before my card class there this evening. I’m staying at Kim’s tonight because I’m going to go back to The Ink Pad on Saturday for a bit too! I have a busy few days ahead! I like them like that though!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 211

I did a little more watercoloring, this time with Distress Ink! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I used some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine to spatter the front and set that aside to dry while I worked on images. I stamped the heart from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark on Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper and heat embossed it with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. It’s colored in with Mermaid Lagoon and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, I colored the markers onto a clear block and the used a wet brush to fill in the grid. I used the Simon Says Stamp Hearts and Spoons Dies to cut out the heart and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers On My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Abandoned Coral and Fossilized Amber. I spritzed the stamps with water using a Mini Mister before stamping them onto some more Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the heart with more Foam Tape. I stamped the leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Twisted Citron and also cut them out with the Coordinating Dies, they are tucked under the flowers. My greeting is from the I See You Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered to the flowers with more Foam Tape. Finally, three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered to the heart and finish the card! I love the fun combination of bright colors, definitely not my usual! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting today and I wish you all a very crafty Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 269

Wow! I can’t believe that it’s Thursday already! I had a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday. I started the cutting for Renee’s Advent Class and got some of my own stuff done too. My friend Paul stopped by to see me and we got caught up. When I got home I had some stew that mum had made and then ran over to BestBuy to pick up the new Apple TV. From there I met up with Louis and we ran over to Century21 so he could return some things and then we stopped and got Starbucks before heading back to my house to play with the Apple TV. It’s pretty neat and easy to set up, you use your iPhone and it transfers all of the settings to the Apple TV. We were watching movie trailers, videos and YouTube in no time! This morning I have to work on finishing up my prep work for tomorrow night’s class at The Ink Pad. Speaking of The Ink Pad, Barbara wrote a nice little article up about me and I’m featured on their blog! Click HERE to take a look!

My card for today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #269

I haven’t done any watercoloring in a while so I did some on today’s card. The card base is Recollections Ivory 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of paper from the Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. The strip down the left is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I then gave it a good coat of Royal Langnickel Burnt Umber and then used a paper towel to take off some of the color. When it dried it had this really cool authentic wood look! I used some Tombo Extreme Adhesive to adhere it to the card. My panel is another piece of Watercolor Paper cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks Die and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next up are my leaves that are also cut from Watercolor Paper using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves Lawn Cuts. I used Yellow Ochre, Vermillion, Crimson Red, Violet and Deep Green to paint on the colors layering the paint a few time before adhering them to the card with Glue Dots. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins across the leaves completes the card! I love the way the leaves and “wood” look watercolored and that Giving Thanks Die is neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for your time today! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 169 – Sketch

Happy mid-week peeps! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday! A high of 72 degrees and nice and sunny! I wish the weather would stay like this! I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, with the top down in the car which was really nice! I helped her out with a few things and I’ll be watching the store for her today. She’s taking the day off to watch her grandkids! I think that they say that it’s supposed to be nice through the end of the week, hopefully another ride to the store today with the top down too!

Back on my Wednesday schedule and that means that it’s time for the Paper Craft Crew and this week we have a sketch…

PCCCS169 DT Sketch 11-04-2015

The sketch looked very birthday to me but I went with Holiday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and adhered to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Night of Navy 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. Next up I used a piece of Solar White 110lb with some Stick-It on the back along with the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die. It’s adhered to a piece of Night of Navy and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake, I adhered a piece of Vellum in the center and then used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Vellum and yes, I cut it out with my Paper Snips before using some more Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. For a little added sparkle some Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins are randomly added and that finishes the card! I love that Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and I’m always a fan of blues for the Holidays! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the team’s cards! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 422

Another weekend for the books. I really enjoyed myself at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair with Anna. I had fun demoing the Brother Scan-n-Cut and chatting with all of the people that stopped by. I even got to see my friend Jessica! There were all sorts of talented people selling things and demoing Calligraphy. I used to do Calligraphy when I was younger and definitely need to get back into it, I forgot how much fun it is! Driving was an extremely pleasant experience, it took me 35 minutes to get there! I also got a space right outside the Synagogue. Going home took a little longer, about an hour, still not bad. I was worried that there would be a lot of traffic because of the marathon but I guess so was everyone else! Here is a look at Gramercy Park, you need to live in one of the buildings that face the park in order to get a key to get into the park!

Gramercy Park 11-01-2015

One of the buildings across from the park has actual gas lamps outside, how neat is that?!

And now on to today’s post! The start of another week and it’s time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo422

I have had this frame sitting on my desk for a while and thought it would make a good addition to my card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with a strip of Basic Gray going across the middle. Next up is that Frame, it’s from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Pack and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My roses are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Rose Red for the flowers and Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. They are all cut out with the coordinating Vintage Roses Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and SNAIL. For the greeting I used a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. Some Foam Tape holds that in place. A few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added to the roses with Multi-Matte Medium and some Onyx, Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins to finish the card! I still love those roses and the Clear Droplets are really neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and don’t forget to visit the blog and check out the other Designer’s cards! Thank you very much for stopping by! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

I had a pleasant Saturday! My trip to pick Danielle up at the airport was quite nice. There was the Mets game at Citi Field but not until later in the day so I had a nice quick ride there and back! I came home and did some laundry and then headed over to see my friend Louis. We ran to Lowes and then went to a Greek place in Massapequa Park for dinner. I had a salad with some Gyro meat on it and it was delicious! This morning I’m off to Manhattan and I’m driving in so I can help Anna take some stuff over to the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair. It’s also the NY Marathon today, hopefully the traffic won’t be too bad! Fingers crossed! 🙂

My card that I have for you today would have made a better post for yesterday seeing as it was Halloween! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the background right onto the card front using the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Ledger Script Stamp and some Memento Tuxedo Black. My sugar skull is from the Simon Says Stamp Sugar Skulls Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb, cut out with the coordinating die and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I used a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and cut out a pair of glasses using the My Favorite Things Die-namics Geek is Chic Dies and they are adhered to the skull with teeny tiny pieces of Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in white on black and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A generous scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and Silver Sequins complete the card. I do love that Sugar Skull and he looks quite smart with his glasses! I hope that you like my card for today! Freshly Made Sketches 210

Another fun day at The Ink Pad with Barbara and Jane! You really do get to meet all sorts of interesting people! I also picked up a new Hero Arts Layering Set and my two London Sets that my friend Lesley used to make my birthday card! I love going into Manhattan and sitting in Starbucks having some coffee and oatmeal in the morning and not doing much else. It’s the one time that I actually don’t do anything! Today is going to be a day for errands and crafting, maybe even some straightening up! I am also picking up Danielle at LaGuardia, she coming back from Florida. Like I said yesterday, tomorrow I will be at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair at The Brotherhood Synagogue at 28 Gramercy Park South from 11am until 4pm with Anna. I’m a little obsessed with pens and writing so it should be fun!

Oh, my bright card that I made the other day with that amazing flower from the Large Peonies 1 Photopolymer Stamp Set From The Ton was featured on their blog yesterday!! You can take a look HERE!

I also wanted to let you know about a special this weekend only! If you use coupon code BOO2015 in the Store when you place your order you will get 10% off!

Now on to my post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 210

I combined a few things from Pretty Pink Posh to make a nice cheery card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive, Teeny Bikini and Hot Mama ink to create the fun background and then cut it out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles Dies. It’s adhered directly to the card with SNAIL. Another piece of 80lb is cut out with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die. I used it to make the shaker portion of the card. Some Window Sheet is adhered to the back and then two rows of Foam Tape. I sprinkled some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina, Amethyst, Orchid, Sparkling Clear and Ocean Spray Sequins on the card and then adhered the filmstrip over them. My three cute images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember Exclusive Set Darling Friends. They are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored in with my Copics and then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Some Foam Tape adheres them to the filmstrip. Finally my greeting is a piece of Solar White 80lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Be Craft Die. The happy is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The Be is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the happy with Foam Tape. I think that the greeting fits with the happy animals quite nicely, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for visiting and I wish you all a super Saturday! 🙂
