SIP Challenge 17 – Theme!

It was a beautiful day here yesterday, top down in the car beautiful! In the morning I went to the office to get my things and chatted with Nancy, Nicole and Danielle for a bit. On my way home I stopped by Heather’s quickly to say hi. When I got home I did a few things and chatted with Andrea for a bit and then headed over to see Brian and Kim for lunch. Brian and I ran to SmashBurger, he’s never had it before! We both got shakes for the ride back to the house too! We had a nice lunch and then I stopped back home and got my mail which contained some Simon goodies so I played for a bit before heading back over to Heather’s. We ran to Target and then she made a yummy dinner. I would say that was a pretty good Monday! 🙂

Well, it’s Tuesday so that means it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time around we have a Theme for you…

Flowers! I’m not quite ready to let go of summer yet! LOL! This card was actually my Mum’s Birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb for the background that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Lever 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with a combination of Multi-Purpose Glue, SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss and the leaves in Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow. They are all cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered with more Foam Tape. I brushed it with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to finish off the card. My mum loved it and I hope that you do too! Paper Players 264

That was a pretty nice Tuesday! Work was just as expected and the training was even more fun that I thought it would be (insert sarcasm)! It was an overcast day but didn’t start to drizzle until around 4:00. When I got home I stopped at my house and watched some YouTube videos before heading out to dinner with the family. We went to the George Martin Burger Bar in Massapequa, Erika works there. It’s a new restaurant, it’s only been open for about three weeks. The food was really good and the place is nice. I even have a family picture for you!

From left to right: Erika, my Dad, Mum, Aunt Janet, Me, Uncle Steve, my Brother and little Daniel who is always ready for a picture! When we got home I stayed outside talking to my Uncle until it started to rain around 9:30. A very nice evening indeed!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it I want to thank Laurie for choosing me as her Headliner for last week’s challenge!! You can see my original post here and the winner’s post here. Now on to this week and it’s a sketch…

I used some more goodies from the My Mind’s Eye My Story Collection. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black. On top of that is a piece of paper from the My Story 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered a piece of My Story Washi Tape to some Solar White 110lb and then adhered it across the middle with SNAIL. The main panel is a journaling card from the My Story Collection and it’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. One of the buttons form the My Story Chipboard Buttons has some Hemptique Baker’s Twine tied in a bow though it. It’s already got adhesive on the back so that’s what holds it in place. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Recollections Enamel Dots finish the card. I do love the colors in the My Story collection and the journaling card makes for a different way to add a greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Mojo Monday 417

Another weekend for the books. Went by too fast as it always does. I had a relaxing day. Heather came by and we went out and got some bagels for breakfast. We stopped back at my house and then stopped by my parents so she could say hello to my Aunt and Uncle. After that Heather went to get a manicure so I went to A.C. Moore to see if the had some Iridescent Medium that I wanted to try, it’s supposed to be a bit like Wink of Stella, I’ll let you know! From there we went to Target and picked up some groceries. Heather headed home and I worked on a few projects and finished up my laundry. Later on I ran to Michaels and picked up some goodies and then stopped by my parent’s again to see my Aunt and Uncle. Around 11:40 I went out to look at the Super Moon. Not a bad Sunday. Here is a picture of the moon from earlier in the evening…

The start of a new week also means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Yay! A Tall & Skinny, love those! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of Hello Honey that I stamped in Hello Honey with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. My panel is a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and it’s backed with Basic Black and adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the bottom is a piece of My Story Washi Tape that I adhered to a piece of Solar White and then to the card with SNAIL. My square is a piece of Basic Black backed with some Blushing Bride and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The butterfly is cut out from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Craft Die and adhered to the square with a Glue Dot. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black and adhered it to the center of the butterfly with Foam Tape. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins finish the card. I do love that My Mind’s Eye My Store collection, great colors and fun embellishments! Pink Feathers Happy Day

The lack of motivation is real! It took me all day yesterday to make my cards for card class and one more. I guess that I’m suffering from PVD, Post Vacation Depression! I need to get out today and do some stuff, anything! LOL! I’ll go by Scrap-A-Latte and drop off the cards and then maybe take a drive somewhere, that helps to clear the mind sometimes.

The other card that I made last night is a just for fun one. I always find it funny that people think that a birthday card actually has to say happy birthday on the outside when there are so many other greetings that work! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I ran a strip of My Minds Eye My Story Washi Tape down the left side of the card. Next up is a piece of My Minds Eye My Story 6×6 Paper with the bottom flagged. A circle of the same paper is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Dies to back my greeting which is from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink. My feathers and twigs are from the same set and are stamped in Teeny Bikini, Rosie Cheeks and Goldenlocks. They, along with the greeting, are cut out with the matching Happy Day Craft Dies. I adhered some Fun Foam that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits to the back of the stitched circle and greeting and the adhered everything to the card with SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Ballerina Pink Iridescent Sequins finish off the card. I think that Oh Happy Day works pretty well for a birthday, don’t you?! Mojo Monday 415

Happy Monday! I can’t believe that we leave in two days to go home. It’ has been such a great vacation I don’t want it to end! Yesterday we went to my Uncle Steve’s in Harrow for a BBQ and that was really nice! After the BBQ Brian and I headed out to meet Tracey and Jules to go to another BBQ at Tracey’s friend Tracey’s house. That was a good time too! Tracey had to stay in London at her mum’s last night so we hung out with Jules and watched some TV before calling it a night. I’m going into London today to have coffee with my friend Leslie, can’t wait to meet her!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I kept my card simple and right to the sketch! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and backed with a piece of Island Indigo. Tucked behind it it is a piece of Blushing Bride with some American Crafts Brights Hemp Twine tied through the top. The greeting is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the greeting complete the card! Mojo Monday 414 & More London!

Hi there and a very happy Monday to you! Happy Monday you say, well of course, I’m on vacation! LOL! Yesterday was a quiet day, we hung out at the house. My cousin Tracey’s mum Dawn and her partner Alan were her and Tracey made a roast dinner that was delicious! The rest of the evening was spent watching some TV. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday! Today Brian and I are off to London again! Here are a few more pictures from Friday’s little adventure.

Lots of nice layers! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper to cover the entire front. Across the middle is a strip of Smoky Slate. The large and small panels are also pieces of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack, the larger one is backed with Basic Black and the small with Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and flagged the bottom. The two panels are adhered to the card and the greeting flag with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish off the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Sparkle and Shine and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the small panel. Fab Friday 72 & the London Eye

Hello and a happy Friday to you! Brian and I did a lot of wandering around London yesterday. Our first stop was the London Eye, that huge ferris wheel that lets you see all of London on a nice day and it was a very nice day indeed! We actually got lucky and when we went to get on line the guy there moved us over to the quick one and we were on in five minutes. You really can see so much from up there and it takes about 30 minutes to go all the round. The first thing that you notice is Big Ben…

Next up is Charing Cross Station…

When we left we walked across Westminster Bridge and got this nice photo of the Eye…

Today is a Fab Friday and we have a sketch for you this time…

I stayed very true to the sketch, I haven’t used a doily in really long time! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Blushing Bride. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is adhered to the card with SNAIL and across that is a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet and a strip of Adhesive Cork. I cut a piece of the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered that to the doily with Foam Tape. For the heart I inked a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s cut out with the Memory Box Stitched Hearts Layers Dies and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Locking Hearts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Khaki Ink on the bottom right of the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. SIP Challenge 12 – Colors!

Today’s the day, I’m off to the airport this afternoon to make my way to London! I still have to pack, I know, I should have done that already. Yesterday was kind of a relax and catch up day. I made a bunch of cards and watched some TV. Sandy stopped by for a little bit, we are going to have a dinner date when I get back. I’m going to try and have lunch with Heather today and then Andrew will be by around 3:00 to pick me up. Tomorrow’s post will be later in the day as I will be five hours ahead for the next two weeks. I hope that you will come along to London and Paris with me! I’ll have lots of pictures and cards for you!

Today is Tuesday so it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This time around we have a fun color combo for you…

Yes! A black and white and then your choice of any other color! My card today begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp and Black Ink to create my background. My main panel is Solar White 110lb. The stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used some Simon Says Stamp Mint Ink to stamp the solid balloons with the outlines, strings, bows and greeting stamped in Simon Says Stamp Slate Ink. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins with Ranger Multi-Medium Matte to the panel. Mojo Monday 413

Monday, a no work Monday too! Yesterday was a quiet day. I puttered around the house in the morning and then went over to Brian and Kim’s to fill out the advance passenger info for the flight to London. We also booked our tickets on the Eurostar to go to Paris overnight. I have never been there so that should be fun! After we ran to the Apple Store, BJ’s and BestBuy and then had dinner. I came home and watched some TV, I have a lot to do and not much motivation. I hate when that happens.

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

This card contains goodies from lots of different places! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Mint Macaroon that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The panel is a piece of paper from a Heidi Swapp 6×6 Paper Pad and I backed it with a piece of Rose Red. A strip of Basic Black goes down the left side. My flowers are cut from Solar White 80lb and Rose Red using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone and matching Dies. They are adhered to each other with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the panel. A few Essentials by Ellen Matte Black and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I like the different color combo and the scribbly flowers! SIP Challenge 11 – Tic-Tac-Toe

Only three more days of work to go! I can do this! LOL! You know when you have so much happening at one time you just want to slow everything down, that’s where I am right now. I’m looking forward to my trip but not looking forward to seeing my friend leave. The emotions of both are pulling in different directions! I would like to put this Summer on repeat for a while, do you know what I mean? But nothing in life is constant except for change, right? Anyway enough about that! Little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got home and we played with his trucks for a bit before dinner. After, I came home and made a few cards and then just pondered life for a bit. You need to do that every once in a while!

It’s Tuesday and that means that we are ready for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

This Tic-Tac-Toe board is a collaboration of Michael and I. Eventually we will get him to participate in the actual challenge! I went across the middle, Twine, Die Cut and Sequins. I have been enjoying the neutrals with the nice pops of color lately so I went that route again! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink on some Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My frame and bubble for the sentiment are from the Mama Elephant Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts. The frame is cut from more Solar White 80lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape, I tied some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around the frame before adhering it. For the flower I used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama and Lucky Ink to color another piece of Solar White 80lb. The die is from Elizabeth Crafts and is called Lotus Flower. It cuts the backing and the open flower, they are adhered sparingly together with 2-Way Glue and then to the card with Foam Tape.
