Freshly Made Sketches 184

Hello there my friends and a happy Saturday to you! I had a good day yesterday, work was quiet, went to Monty’s for lunch with Robin and had a Caesar Salad slice that was yummy! After work I came home and had some dinner with Taylor and my parents then came to my house and started working on some projects instead of having a movie night. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then FaceTimed with Michael. I worked on a few cards while he worked on an adorable baby book. Hopefully he will share it on his blog soon! This morning I’ll be finishing up some stuff and then heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for a bit to see what National Scrapbooking day is all about! It’s supposed to be really nice here today and tomorrow! I’m looking forward to a few rides with the top down! What are you all up to today?

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I stayed really true to the sketch! My card starts with a base of Whisper White Card Stock cut to 4″ wide. My background is a piece of Sahara Sand, I put some Sweet Sadie Washi Tape down the left side and wrapped it around the back before I adhered it to the card base. The strip of paper is from the “Vintage” Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration and is adhered to the card with a piece of Foam Tape behind it. I dug up the tag from the very “Vintage” Stamp-A-Tag Kit and heat embossed the greeting from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Crushed Curry Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine is tied in a bow leaving the tails extra long and the tag is adhered to the card with some Foam Tape. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine Sequins are randomly adhered to finish off the card with a little sparkle. I love the simple modern feel to the card thanks to the DSP! Mojo 395

And we are coming into the home stretch of the week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday, I snuck outside numerous times! The highlight of the day was riding home in the car with the top down and the music up nice and loud! Well, that and Daniel was at my parents. He just gets cuter every time I see him! My mum said how he wouldn’t give anyone a kiss so I asked him if I could have one and I got one right away! He loves his uncle Justin! We played ball on the front porch for a while and then I came home and Skyped with Andrea for a bit while we crafted. Around 6:30 Anthony and Bill came to pick me up so that we could go and meet Marissa at Friday’s to celebrate Anthony’s birthday. We had a great waiter name Cesar and had a very nice time! I came home and Taylor was watching Wilfred, a very strange show! She has decided that since Taylor Made was taken that she is going to go with Taylored Pieces! Thanks again for all of your suggestions! As soon as she does her first post I’ll let you know!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and it’s one of my favorites… a Tall & Skinny…

Yes, the card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. For my background I used some Night of Navy with a strip of paper from the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. Across the top of the DSP is a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon. My panel is also form the same DSP and is backed with a piece of Bermuda Bay. I heat embossed the candles from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Whisper White and cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. It’s adhered to the card with a combination of SNAIL and Foam Tape. The greeting is stacked on another piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Banners Framelits and is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Another piece of Foam Tape adheres it to the circle. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are randomly adhered to the circle with Crystal Effects. I do love the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper and hope that we have something similar in the new catalog! I hope that you liked my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Pals Paper Arts 249

Hmm… what day is it?! Why I believe that it’s Friday!! And it’s a very good Friday, if all goes according to plan I will have my nice shiny new Apple Watch in my hands later on today! I can’t wait to see all of the neat things that it does! Yesterday was chilly, sort of March like! Umm… Spring… where did you get to?! LOL! After I had dinner I came home and worked on my card while FaceTiming with Michael. He suggested some Blackberry Bliss on today’s card and I wanted Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe! You’ll have to ket me know what you think of those colors! I have a sweet little picture of Daniel to share with you. Yesterday was St. George’s Day in England so Erika put him in his little England shirt!

Just when you think that he can’t get any cuter! I am little biased though!

Now for the rest on today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

Yes, the base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Pistachio Pudding. I ran a piece of the PinkFresh Studios Peach and Mint Ombre Airmail Washi Tape down the left side. My panel is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is one of my favorites from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Mum and You’re Amazing Dies cut out from Crisp Cantaloupe and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The words are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh, Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins finish the card. I actually really do like the Blackberry Bliss with the Pistachio and Cantaloupe! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 183

Another pretty nice day here! It was sunny and a bit windy yesterday up until 4:00pm when it started to rain. We are supposed to be back in the 50’s for the next week or so. No more top down in the car for a while! I had a nice evening last night. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then FaceTimed with Michael for a while too. Sandy stopped by for a little bit, always love to see her and we are going to get together for dinner soon. The best news ever, my Apple Watch that said it wouldn’t ship until June, I got the notification that it will be here tomorrow!! WOO HOO!! I cannot wait! Tomorrow is Friday!! I have another busy weekend ahead but it’s a lot of fun stuff so it’s all good! What’s going on in your neck of the woods?!

The project that I worked on last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I decided to do a nice clean earthy card! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Brushed Gold with a thin strip of Early Espresso in the middle. My panel is a piece of Watercolor Paper. All of the images and greeting are from the An Open Heart Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow and watercolored. I added some Cherry Cobbler to the berries. For the bird I stamped him in Early Espresso and watercolored him too adding some Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler. The panel is backed with some Mossy Meadow. My greeting is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and wrapped around the back. I then adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card. I love stamping the images and then using a wet brush to pull the ink and watercolor them! I also love the kraft with the gold! Paper Craft Crew 141 & Tags Class

Wow! It’s Wednesday already peeps! The week is moving along at a nice pace! Remember I said that it was supposed to rain here on and off all day yesterday? Well, someone was wrong! It rained in the morning and by the afternoon it was beautiful and sunny! I went over to Scrap-A-Latte right from work and I got to drive over with the top down in the car! What a nice way to end the work day! I hung out with Renee and Angie and got a little ahead by cutting out all of my pieces for the tags. I also spoke with Mr. Trent for a bit on FaceTime and gave a visual update on the store. The class was great and the tags are just fantastic. But don’t take my word for it, have a look for yourself!

And the other side, see the embossing paste and the gorgeous Graphic 45 Papers?! Now that would be a nice little gift for mum don’t you think?! I had a great time at the class and look forward to next month’s!

This is a nice quick card that I made when I got home last night! My card base is… well… you know what it is! LOL! The background is piece of Basic Gray. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack for the background. Across the bottom is a piece of Hello Honey, I used the same dies to cut this out and stamped the greeting from the Sheltering Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Basic Gray. My strip in the middle is a piece of Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey that I cut out with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die. The inside is adhered with SNAIL and the frame with strips of Foam Tape. Finally, three butterflies form the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set are stamped in Basic Gray and punched out with the Bitty butterfly Punch. Some pieces of Foam Tape hold those in place nicely! Fab Friday 62

Oh yes! Happy Friday to you all! I have had a good week so no complaints here! I stopped home last night and picked up Taylor and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to get all of the prep for tonight’s class done. I really do love spending time with Renee, she’s a funny lady and we always have a good laugh! We even Skyped with Andrea for a bit. I couldn’t leave there without picking up some stuff so I got some goodies from the Prima Butterfly line, some Blue Fern Studios Chip Board and some stuff from My Minds Eye Fancy That line. On the way home we stopped at Michaels to pick up some basic card making supplies for Taylor. She wants her own stuff, she has really gotten into card making lately and is even thinking of starting a blog soon! WOW! That would be pretty cool! She made some cards this week and I wanted to post them here but she said that she wants to post them on her blog. Taking after her old man! Here are the two of us in the car with the top down on the way to see Renee…

So today is an extra great Friday because it’s a Fab Friday and here is our sketch challenge…

I don’t know why, maybe because I like the stamp set so much, but I have been in a wedding card mood lately! Today’s card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered with a piece of Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. The panel is a piece of Basic Black that I heat embossed the Hardwood Background Stamp on it in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I heat embossed the greeting from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum and adhered it on the back of the panel. Some Fun Foam is used as a backing and some SNAIL adheres it to the card. A piece of Sahara Sand that I flagged is tucked under the bottom. I tore off a small strip of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape and put it on a piece of Whisper White. The edges are trimmed with my Paper Snips and some Foam Tape holds it in place. I wanted my button to match the greeting so I used the Little Pieces Embosslit to cut out some whisper white and heat embossed it with more Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. That too is adhered to the Washi Tape with some Foam Tape. Finally some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the embossed woodgrain to break it up a bit. Another simple card that would be a great wedding one. I think that the black on black woodgrain has a fun look to it! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 182

Yesterday turned out to be a nice day after all. It didn’t rain and actually made it up to 70 degrees! The sun was out and despite the wind it was actually warm. Work was pretty quiet, always a good thing. When I came home I Skyped with Andrea and we crafted together. I had to get a few cards made because I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte tonight to get things prepared for tomorrow night’s class. Taylor is going to tag a long and help so it should go pretty fast. I stopped by Heather’s for a cocktail last night. I had a whiskey sour and really liked it! I got home around 10:15 and took care of some stuff before heading off to bed. Another pretty good day!

One of the cards that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A really neat sketch! My card for today has a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I ran a strip of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape down the left side. The panel is a piece of Smoky Slate that I stamped with the Something Lacy Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. A piece of Fun Foam is adhered behind the panel and then some SNAIL holds it all to the card. The greeting and wreath are from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the wreath on Vellum Card Stock with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then used my Paper Snips to cut it out. The greeting and leaves are also heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black. I adhered the wreath to the back of the greeting and then used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I love the simplicity of the card and the font in the greeting is just perfect! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Mojo 393

How was your Monday? Mine was pretty good. It was a nice sunny day and in the 60’s! Today it’s going to rain and will do that for the next few days. Just a taste, that’s all we get! My parents went to pick up my brother, Erika and Daniel from the airport yesterday! He was extra adorable, I guess because I missed the little guy so much! They said that the weather was perfect while they were there and that he was really well behaved on the flight home too! Here he is feeding some Koi, he loved that they all came right over to him!

After I got in some Daniel time Heather came over and her, Taylor and I went over to see Sandy for a bit. It was a get together of all of the old stamp class alumni! It was good to see everyone again and I told them about the card classes at Scrap-A-Latte. We stopped at Target on the way home to pick up a few odds and ends. We got home a little later that I wanted to so I popped into the Stampin’ Galley to make my card for today. Not a bad Monday at all! Tonight I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to take Angie’s tags class! That’s going to be fun!

The card that I have for you for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Quite a fun and unusual sketch! My obsession with the Stitched shapes continues on today’s card! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of Brushed Silver Metallic that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. My three panels are all pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out the red hearts and the the black ones. The white one is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I used the stitched strip from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut the diagonal. My greeting is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut it out and it’s adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little heart is Real Red and is punched out with the Confetti Hearts Punch. I coated it with Crystal Effects for a little shine. Two Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins complete the card. I love that Stacked with Love DSP and that it can be used for more than just a valentine! Mojo 392

Yes, it’s Friday, my all time favorite day of the week! I had a hectic day at work yesterday, I was running around all over the place! But it does make the day fly by! I cam home last night and worked on some projects and spoke to Andrea and Eva vis Skype. A relatively quiet evening, not the norm but certainly welcome. I pre-ordered my Apple Watch this morning! Can you believe that it won’t ship until June?!?! That is just crazy! I’m sure that it will be amazing just like all of their other products! What about you? Are any of you thinking about getting one? I’ll have a full review once I did get mine don’t you worry! LOL!

My card that I have for you for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I have wanted the set that I used on today’s card for a while and just kept on forgetting to order it but I finally remembered! My card base is Whisper White Cards Stock. I covered the entire front with a piece of Sahara Sand. For the background I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Whisper White and I backed it with some fun foam and adhered it to the card. The strip down the right side is a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock with a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack. My two angled strips are also Sahara Sand and are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the wreath and the greeting from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark on Vellum and heat embossed them with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. The Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles are used to cut them out. The wreath is adhered with 2-Way Glue and the greeting with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card. I love the simplicity and subtle colors, this would definitely make a perfect wedding card! Pals Paper Arts 246

I’m a little late this morning! I had a very busy day yesterday doing some things for my old department at work. After work I went to get a haircut and little Daniel was at my parent’s house for dinner. They took him to see the Easter bunny at Hicks Nursery. Just when you think that he can’t possibly get any cuter there is this picture!

His little bow tie is just too cute and I love his new haircut! I also went out for drinks last night with Anthony, Bill and Fred. We had a very nice time but I think that I had a little too much because when I got home I passed out on the couch and woke up at 3:00am! I crawled into bed and here we are!

So let’s get on to today’s post which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I do love the Pistachio and Cantaloupe together and the Kraft is the perfect addition. I wanted a quick birthday card, we need those right?! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Kraft. Before I adhered it to the card I adhered a piece of the Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape down the left side. My tag is punched from a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the greeting from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set in Pistachio Pudding and cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Pistachio Pudding Thick Bakers Twine is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins complete the card. I like the layout and a quick color change would make this card work for just about anyone!
