Mojo Monday 475

Is it really Monday already?! I was extra tired at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Not sure why but I needed a nap! It was so windy and cold here yesterday too, like 50mph winds, crazy! It even snowed a little last night! 🙁 Taylor did come up to the store to keep me company and make her grandfather a birthday card. I tried to work on some things and did manage to get a few things done but not as much as I had wanted to. Dinner with my Parents was good as always and after I stole a donut from them and came home and had a little coffee and watched some TV. The power keeps going out here for a second every so often lately, it’s getting really annoying! I think that I need to get a battery backup for my computer, not good to have it keep shutting off! Today I will finish up what I wanted to get done yesterday. Renee will be back in the store today, she has her Home Decor class today. 😀

I always look forward to Monday’s because it’s time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

I used quite a few different products on my card for today! The base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Classic Cherry with the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background heat embossed in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The main panel is a piece of Prima Sweet Peppermint No Peeking 12×12 Paper backed with a piece of Rose Chintz. I heat embossed the Hand Drawn Snowflakes again onto a piece of Yellow with Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and flagged the right side. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th O Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black onto another piece of Rose Chintz backed with a piece of Herb Garden. For my snowflake I used the Tim Holtz Paper Snowflakes Thinlit to cut out a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card and adhered it to the card with  a 3D Foam Square. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins! It’s definitely an eclectic mix of goodies and not my usual style but I do like the way it turned out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! SIP Challenge 62 – A Sketch!

Hi! Thanks so much for coming by today! It was another absolutely gorgeous day here! The humidity broke and the temps were in the low 80’s. I got another Altenew order at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to replenish some of what is missing and it also included a few new items! I have to get ready for my Partial Die Cutting Class on Wednesday and the massive Lawn Fawn order that will arrive. I need to get that all checked in and ready for Thursday! That’s the day it gets released to the public! Can’t wait to play with all of their new goodies! Wednesday is going to be a crazy busy day at the store! Anyone wanna come by and help?! 😀

So what do I do on Tuesday?! Oh yes, it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a nice simple sketch…

SIP Challenge 62 - Sketch

When I sat down to make this card on Saturday it started out as a completely different card. Then I went to look for something and found this paper pad that I forgot I had. That was the inspiration for the rest of the card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Early Espresso. The background is that piece of paper from the Prima Cartographer A4 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of My Minds Eye Christmas on Market Street Shining Stars Foiled Vellum. The circle is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner, I also hid the adhesive for the Vellum behind it! My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. For the feathers I used the Spellbinders Feathers Shapeabilities Dies to cut out some Kraft Card Stock. I added a little Versa-Mark to the ends and heat embossed some more of the Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder onto them. They are adhered to the gold circle with 3D Foam Squares and a piece of DMC Gold Thread is tied around the top. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I love that background paper, so glad that I found it! I also love the way the Vellum softens it! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of my fantastic Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see your card in the gallery so that you might be one of our top three picks! Thanks again for stopping by! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Hi there! I hope that you are all having a nice weekend! I had a good Saturday! I headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad with Barbara for the day. My friend Kim came down and met me for lunch, we ate fresh! I also got a few new goodies from a recent order that they got in! I’ll share some of those with you this week! When I got home I had a sandwich for dinner and then just chilled for the rest of the evening. This morning I’m having breakfast with Heather and then we will run a few errands. I think it will be a lazy Sunday!

My project that I have for you today is not a card. When I was at Scrap-A-Latte the other day I played with some of the copious amount of Mixed Media supplies that they have. I actually finished the project on Friday and even had the frame for it! The base of the project is Chipboard that I coated with Ranger Studio Gesso. While that dried I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Mixed Media Thinlits to cut out some 80lb Neenah Card Stock to use as a stencil. Some Ranger Opaque Texture Paste is applied with a palette knife over the stencil that I created in the upper right and lower left corners. Once that dried I mixed up Broken China, Evergreen Bough, Picket Fence and Black Soot Distress Paint with water and applied it over most of the surface of the project. When that was dry I coated it with Multi-Matte Medium to seal it. Some more Multi-Matte Medium is used to adhere a card from the Idea-Ology Thrift Shop Ephemera Pack and then more over the top of it. The cage is cut out using the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Bigz Die from more chipboard and coated with Gesso and then Multi-Matte Medium so I could apply some Distress Rock Candy Glitter over it. I cut out a piece of Black 110lb with a tags punch and adhered a stamp from the same Ephemera Pack to it with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece May Arts Twine is tied through the top and adhered to the back of the piece. I adhered the cage with Foam Tape along with the Kind that is stamped in Onyx Black Ink using the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Down in the lower left are some Prima Flowers and Leaves. I inserted it into a black frame and than completed the project. I had a lot of fun creating the piece and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and are inspired to try something different too! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a subtle Sunday! 🙂
