Sahara Burgundy Sleigh Flurry

Ahh… Monday… but it’s Christmas Eve! Are you all finished with your shopping or are you like me who will be stopping by Target later?! I got most of the last of my Christmas cards made yesterday. I still have some stuff to do but I’m hoping that I can get it finished tonight. Today’s post is a card that I sent to a friend. She sent me a lovely card so I wanted to return the favor. The base of the card is Sahara Sand and I stamped it with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand. Down the right side is a piece of Bravo Burgundy, the one side is cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies, and a strip of Brushed Gold Card Stock is adhered on top. The image and greetings are from the Open Sleigh Stamp Set and are all stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I cut the sleigh out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Behind it is a another piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock that I cut out with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. I love the color combination and the vintage feel of the stamp set. I hope that she enjoyed the card and that you like it too. Thank you for spending a little of your time with me. I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas Eve! All of your comments are the best Christmas present I could ever get! 🙂

Create with Connie and Mary 231 & Sneak Peek

Ahh, Saturday… how I enjoy thee! Happy weekend everyone! What kind of weekend are you going to have? Is it a mad dash to finish your Christmas shopping or are you all done and you just have to get the house ready for your company?! I think I would rather do Holiday shopping than clean the house! It’s off to Manhattan this morning and I’m going to try to go to Bryant Park and browse the shops they have set up there weather permitting. I also have some crafting left to do before Monday so I’ll be very busy this weekend. But it’s a crafty good kind of busy! 🙂

Today’s post is my card for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sweet little sketch…

CCMC 231

For the base of my card I used some Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background is made from a piece of Tea For Two Designer Series Paper* on the left and a piece of Bashful Blue that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* on the right. I adhered a piece of Lucky Limeade 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon across the seam around the back with Sticky Strip. I used stamps from the set Oh, Hello* for the greeting that is stamped in Calypso Coral on a piece of Very Vanilla that I stamped in So Saffron and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies*. The piece is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. On the left there is a another piece of Lucky Limeade 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon adhered under a Soda Pop Top. On the inside of the Soda Pop Top is a piece of Calypso Coral that I punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and a Basic Jewels Large Rhinestone* is adhered in the center. The two little bees are from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set* and are stamped in So Saffron, punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered with some Mini Glue Dots. I love the different color combination of the Lucky Limeade and Bashful Blue and the Soda Pop Tops are just the coolest embellishment! I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card for this week. Thank you for checking in with me and have a fun Saturday!

Freshly Made Sketches #66 & Sneak Peek!

Good day to you all! What’s the best part about today… it’s FRIDAY! TGIF! This has been a long week and I’m so glad that the weekend is here. Well, assuming that the world doesn’t end today… which would be a bit of a bummer don’t you think?! It is very windy and rainy outside this morning but I think we’ll be ok. I still have more goodies to play with! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week we have a nice sketch from Tui…

Freshly Made Sketches #66

My card for the sketch is chock full of new goodies from the 2013 Spring Catalog. The base of the card is Pink Pirouette Card Stock. For the strip across the lower half of the card I embossed a piece of Primrose Petals with the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The piece of paper and the large Real Red heart are from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack*. I adhered the rectangle of DSP to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the heart is adhered with SNAIL. The two hearts on top of that are form the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set*. The the larger doily like heart is stamped in Primrose Petals on Very Vanilla and the smaller heart is stamped in Real Red. Both of them are cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies*. The greeting is from the Cross My Heart Stamp Set* and is stamped in Pool Party. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and the Owl Builder Punch and some Red Glimmer Paper provide the little heart in the middle. With all of the hearts on this card does’t it just whisper sweet love?!?! LOL! I think that my new favorite color combo is Pool Party and Primrose Petals, don’t they look great together? I hope that you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week. Thank you all so very much for visiting me and for your comments. Have yourselves a stupendous Friday!

Control Freaks December Blog Tour!

freakwelcome

Hello there! How are all of you people doing? I’m doing great, and how could I not be?! It’s time for this month’s Control Freaks December Blog Tour featuring Winter Fun! I am the first stop on the tour but you also may have arrived here from the über talented Connie Babbert’s blog. Didn’t she have some amazing projects?! I have two projects for you this time. One is a masculine box with a lodge feel and the other is a fun card that would be good for just about anything.

First up we have the box. I used one of the Kraft Gift Boxes. These are great item from the Annual Catalog. They are great to decorate with some Designer Series Paper and embellishments. I adhered some paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack around the sides. I like the plaid pattern in Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Early Espresso. On the top of the box I made a paper bow from some Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. It’s 3/4″ wide and if you use your Bone Folder to “curl” it a little it tends not to crease when you make the bow. On top of the bow I stacked three of the Naturals Designer Buttons, adhering them together with Mini Glue Dots. For the tag I stamped an image from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla. I punched out a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the 1″ Circle Punch, scored it down the center and adhered it to the tag with some Sticky Strip. A quick punch through the top and some Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine to attach it to the bow and you’re done. Quick and easy, great for a masculine treat!

IMG_2175

Next up we have the card. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. A piece of paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack is flagged and adhered to the background. The stamped image is form the Wonderful Winterland Stamp Set stamped in Basic Black. I colored it in with Island Indigo, Pool Party, Blush Blossom, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Markers. The 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch is used to punch it out and a piece of Pool Party cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die backs it. They are mounted to each other and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is form the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. I love the little girl and bunny sharing some cocoa, a friendly little card for someone special.

I hope that you enjoyed my project for the December Control Freaks Tour featuring Winter Fun. Next up we have Yvette Ash. She has some super fun projects to share with you! Thanks so much for stopping here and enjoy the rest of the projects from the Control Freaks. Have a great day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #21 & Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to Wednesday… brought to you today by The Paper Craft Crew Challenge. I try to think up new ways to start off and it gets hard sometimes! LOL! I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday. It was dreary here for most of the day with a peek of sun and them some heavy rain for about 20 minutes. A little odd but what can you do? So, now on to today’s business.

As I mentioned, today’s post is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have this sketch challenge…

PCCCS021-Sketch

This was one where as soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to use, I love when that happens!  We start the card off with a base of Primrose Petals Card Stock. The next layer consists of a piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack*. I adhered a piece of Raspberry Ripple to the right that I punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. A piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip and covers the seam. Next, the panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL. The greeting is stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla in Raspberry Ripple and is from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set*. I pierced around the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The image is form the Secret Garden Stamp Set* and is stamped in Primrose Petals on Primrose Petals Card Stock. I used the Secret Garden Framelits Dies* to perfectly and easily cut it out. It too is mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and an In-Color Dahlia is adhered to the middle with a Mini Glue Dot. I’m becoming a fast fan of the new Print Poetry DSP Stack* and loving the Secret Garden Stamps* and Framelits*. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Mojo 272 & Sneak Peek

Well, that wasn’t such a bad Monday as far as Monday’s go, except for the weather! It was rainy and dreary here all day today and still is this morning. The fine misty rain that just gets everywhere. How is the weather in your area? I have another sneak peek for you today. The stamp set is from Sale-A-Bration and the the Designer Series Paper and Framelits are from the Spring Catalog. 🙂

Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week we have a clean and simple sketch from Carol Burrage…

Mojo272

I was laughing when I saw the sketch because I did something very similar with my post on Saturday! The base of today’s card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack*. For the main panel I opted for very clean, a piece of Summer Starfruit with some Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon around it and a knot tied on the right. The panel is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The three flowers are from the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set** and are stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used the new Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies* to cut them out. They, along with the greeting, are adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Speaking of the greeting, it is from the same set and stamped in the same color. I used the Large Oval Punch to punch it out. I like the slightly bolder and different color combination and hope you like it too. What was your favorite product from today’s sneak peek? What has been your favorite so far? Let me know by leaving me a comment. There you have my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card, thanks for clicking on in today and I hope that your day is a nice one.

Paper Players 126 & News!

Ahh… Monday… back again I see! How was your weekend? Mine was GREAT! I got most of my to do list accomplished and had so much fun at my two parties. Just when I thought that it couldn’t get any better I got some exciting news! I will be a Guest Designer on the Paper Players Challenge for the next six months starting in January! WOW! I’m a huge fan of the talented group of ladies and am honored to be with them. I can’t wait to get started. How fitting that today is my post for this week’s challenge!

This week’s challenge will last for two weeks and Ann has given us a Clean & Simple Challenge with snowflakes…

Paper Players #126

I love snowflakes, just as long as they are on a card and not floating through the air! My card starts off with a base of Not Quite Navy Card Stock. For the Whisper White panel I started by punching a hole in the upper left with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I cut out a piece of Window Sheet and adhered it to the back over the hole. The stamped snowflakes and greeting are from the Snow Swirled Stamp Set and are stamped in Not Quite Navy. All of the snowflake images have a Basic Jewel Rhinestone in the center of them. The snowflake on the Window Sheet is created but cutting out some Silver Glimmer Paper with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. I adhered the two parts together and to the Window Sheet with some Mini Glue Dots.  The panel is then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simple elegance of the card and the shadow that the Silver Glimmer Paper snowflake casts on the card base. I hope you enjoyed my Paper Players Challenge card for this week. Thank you for checking in with me and I hope that you have a good Monday! 🙂

Sentimental Indigo Ticket Wish B’day & Peek

A very good Sunday morning to you! I hope that the weekend is being good to you. I had a very nice time at my Holiday party last night, good food and fun people. Today’s post is for my friend Greg. It was his birthday a few days ago and I had a lot of fun playing with some new stuff to make his card. He reads my blog so I hope that he got the card already!

The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used the 1″ Circle punch to round to opposing corners on the card and each one of the layers. The background is Fan Fair Designer Series Paper, I love the grid pattern with the script. The main stamped image and the Celebrate is from the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set** and is stamped in Island Indigo on Very Vanilla. The greeting is from the Make a Wish Stamp Set* and is stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla. Both are backed by Island Indigo and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought it needed a little something else so I stamped two of the tickets from the Take a Ticket Stamp Set in Island Indigo and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. They are adhered behind the main image with some SNAIL. Feeling Sentimental is definitely my favorite stamp set from Sale-A-Bration, I love the vintage feel and great images. I hope that you enjoyed Greg’s birthday card. Thank you for sharing some of your time with me today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

By the Pool Mist

Happy Saturday! What are you up to today? I had a very nice time at my party last night with my peeps, and even slept a little late today. We had some good food and my hummus and fudge (eaten separately!) were a big hit! We also caught the end of one of my favorite movies, Love Actually. I still love it, especially around the holidays, even 10 years later! I have some more sneak peeks for you today. I used one of my favorite sets from the Spring Catalog, it’s called By the Tide* and contains some great sea related items.

The base of my card is Pool Party Card Stock that I stamped with the Netting Background Stamp in Pool Party. I cut out a piece of Sahara Sand with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Before I adhered it to the card I embossed it with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The shell images are from the By the Tide Stamp Set* and are heat embossed with Versa-Mark and some Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder*. I decided that I would paint some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over it for a nice shimmery sand like effect. I got the idea from one of the samples in the Spring Catalog. They are cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Amazing Family Stamp Set* and is stamped in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits to round the ends, punched holes in either side and ran a piece of Natural 7/16″ Trim Ribbon* through the holes and adhered it around the back with some Sticky Strip. I love the way the Champagne Mist looks painted over the Pool Party Emossing Powder. The card has a nice beachy feel and would be a perfect masculine card. I hope that you enjoyed my sneak peeks for today and the card. Thank you so much for taking some time to visit me today. Have a great Saturday! 🙂

Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge 230 & Sneak Peek

Woo hoo! It’s Friday! I’m always doing the happy dance on Friday! Last night I made some Hummus and some Fudge. I know what you are thinking… what an odd combination. Well, if you ate them together I would think it would be a little nasty. The hummus is the appetizer and the fudge (if it makes it through today) is for desert. I have sampled both and they are good but I am wanting some more of the fudge! 🙂

Today’s post is from this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

CCMC 230

A very simple color combination and one with a little bling! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the new Ovals Collection Framelits Dies* to cut out a two pieces of Very Vanilla, one with the scalloped edge, and two pieces of Champagne Glimmer Paper. All of the pieces of Very Vanilla are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the Glimmer Paper is adhered with SNAIL. The Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack* and Paper-Piercing Tool are used to piece around the edges of the Very Vanilla pieces. I stamped the Merry Christmas from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and flagged the ends. For the piercing on that I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. Even with all of it’s layers and glitz it was a very simple card to make. I have to remember to order some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, the Merry Christmas would have looked rich in that. Did you enjoy today’s sneak peek? What has been you favorite peek so far? Let me know by leaving a comment. I hope that you liked this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card. Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing Friday! 🙂
