Mojo 252 and Sneak Peek

Good morning peeps! How is everyone doing today? I’m doing pretty good, made it through Monday unscathed! I hope the same holds true for all of you. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has give us the round or square choice…

I went with square as I always do. I know, I need to mix it up but I really like the square card better than the round one. The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I added two different pieces of Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The flagged piece of Very Vanilla is pierced using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The rectangle on top of that consists of a piece of Very Vanilla that is embossed with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and mounted to a piece of Gumball Green. The Cherry Cobbler scalloped edge was created using the Adorning Accents Edgelits and adhered to the back before I adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Circles #2 Bigz Original Die to cut out the Gumball Green circle, Paper-Pierced that too and adhered it to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. The greeting is from the Merry & Type Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. Two SIlver Mini Brads give it a little bling. The ornaments are from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. I used the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies to cut them out and adhered then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new bundles that they have in the Holiday Catalog, they save you 15% when you purchase the stamp set and coordinating framelits together. Today is the last day to take advantage of the Reason to Smile Promotion and bonus $50 Host(ess) promotion. Tomorrow marks the start of the Holiday Catalog order. So many decisions! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you very much for stopping by and have yourselves a great day!

Paper Players #106 and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone how was your weekend? Mine was good, too fast but good! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Leslie has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge…

I went with the row on the right going down, favorite color, masculine, punches. It took me a little bit to figure out what my favorite color was but after some careful thought I decided Island Indigo was it! The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock, to that I added a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper. In the upper right corner is a rosette also made from Fan Fair Designer Series Paper using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I punched a piece of Island Indigo with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and a piece of the new Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with the Itty-Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. A piece of Riding Hood Red is punched with the new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and I placed it behind it before I adhered the rosette to the card. The bicycle image and stamp are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, the bicycle is stamped in Island Indigo and I sponged the edges with Island Indigo before I mounted it to another piece of Fan Fair DSP. The postage stamp is stamped in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and mounted to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The H and B are from the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and are stamped in Riding Hood Red and cut out with my Paper Snips. The “appy” and the “irthday” are from the From My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Riding Hood Red and dissected with my Paper Snips. I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them to the card. I love the images on the Fan Fair DSP, the cancelled stamp looks like it’s really stamped on the paper. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and thanks as always for visiting! Have a great day!

Tangerine Point Blue Amazing Birthday

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Yesterday was my friend Kim’s brother Kevin’s Birthday. They had a BBQ and thankfully had tents because it poured here on and off today. We had little bursts of sunshine so all wasn’t bad. Kevin is Autistic and one of the happiest people I know. He got video games and Mets tickets but his favorite gifts are coke, pickles and BBQ potato chips! Wouldn’t life be great if that’s all it took for us to be happy?

I used the closest colors I could come to the Mets colors for his card. The base of the card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock and I used the Distressed Dots Wood Mount Background Stamp stamped in Tangerine Tango for a nice tone-on-tone background. The happy birthday is from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack to create the ticket corners and also to punch out the two circles of Tangerine Tango on either side. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Brights Stack Designer Series Paper. The greeting is mounted to the cut out with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set for main image and it is stamped in Pacific Point. Then I cut it out with my Paper Snips and cut off the ribbon part from the bottom and adhered that to the card with SNAIL. Two pieces of Tangerine Tango Striped 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon formerly from the clearance rack are flagged and adhered to the ribbon part and then the round is adhered with SNAIL over that. The center image is from the same set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango, punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and mounted to the main image with a Stampin’ Dimensional too. I love the simplicity of this card and hope that you enjoyed it too. Happy Birthday Kevin and to all of you thank you for visiting and have a great day!

CCMC 211 Sketch Challenge and Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to the Saturday edition of my JK Cards! LOL! I’m trying to think of some different ways to start my posts. 🙂 What are you all doing for the weekend? Did you watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics? I DVR’d it so I can skip through what I don’t really want to see. I have two parties to go to today so I get to see my peeps which is always great! Maybe later I’ll tune in to see what’s going on. over in London.

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the lovely ladies have given us this sketch…

I wanted to do a holiday card and use some more of the new products but I didm’t want to use traditional colors. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used a piece of the new Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack* for the center and cut two pieces of Very Vanilla with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. I adhered the cut pieces to the card and then the whole thing to the base with some SNAIL. The Cherry Cobbler doily in the middle is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the ornament from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* with Versamark. The coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies* make cutting them out a breeze. The ornament is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A Vintage Faceted Designer Series Button is threaded with Linen Thread and I tied a piece of Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla to it that I stamped with merry from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. The embellishment is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. For the greeting across the bottom I stamped the first half of christmas cheer from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to edge it before mounting it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like this card, especially the color combination. It has an understated elegant holiday feel to it. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card and thank you so much for checking in. Have an excellent day!

Freshly Made Sketches #45 and Sneak Peek

Good morning all! It’s supposed to rain this morning and then again this afternoon here today. I have my Stampin’ Up! meeting tonight and I’ll post my swap card on Saturday. I can’t wait to see all of the other swaps that I will get. 🙂

Today’s post is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Cindy has provided us with this sketch…

Very nice, clean and simple and I kept my card exactly like that. The base of my card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used a piece of Patio Party Designer Series Paper backed by a piece of Whisper White Card Stock for the large sort of background piece, it’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stamped image is form the Four Seasons Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I used the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle punch to punch it out. The image was stamped again in Baja Breeze and I punched out just the center image with the 1 ” Circle Punch and mounted it to the larger Image with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The ribbon is Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. I used some Sticky Strip to wrap it around the DSP and hold it in place. Another piece of ribbon is slid through one of the new Designer Ribbon Slides* and I flagged the ends with my Paper snips. It is adhered to the other piece of ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals are also used to adhere that to the card front. The new Round Designer Ribbon Slides* are one of my favorite new embellishments from the new Holiday Catalog. You can place your orders starting August 1st. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge Card and thank for checking in. Have a great day!

Red Pool Preserved Beautiful Wings Thanks and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! It’s Wednesday and that means we are more than halfway through the week! How is everyone today? I’m good, I finished my swaps for my meeting on Thursday which makes me a happy camper. Today’s post is a 3 x 3 card perfect to attach to a gift or leave on a co-workers desk. I really like the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set from the 2012 Holiday Catalog and I thought, hmm, what else can I put in there besides fruit? I know… some butterflies! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and I added a piece of Pool Party embossed with Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The jar, lid and greeting are all from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set* and are stamped in Pool Party and Real Red. The jar and lid are cut out with the new Cannery Framelits Dies* and the greeting is punched out with the Small Oval Punch. I used a piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and a piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon and flagged both before I adhered the jar and greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The butterflies are cut out with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit from Real Red Card Stock and are also adhered with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the different color combination the flagged pieces go so well with the Chevron Embossing Folder. Don’t forget a week from today you can start ordering form the new 2012 Holiday Catalog! If you need a catalog message me and I’ll get one right out to you. Thank you very much for dropping in and I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Mojo 251 and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Tuesday is better than Monday but not by much! It rained here a bit yesterday but I think it’s supposed to be nice today. I have some swaps to get done for a meeting on Thursday so I will be busy later!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. The weeks sketch is provided to us by Carole Burrage…

What a nice simple sketch for this week, thanks Carole! The base of my card is Real Red Card Stock. I added a piece of Crumb Cake for a simple background layer. The piece of Real Red on the left is embossed using the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on Real Red Card Stock. For the two pieces on the right I used the Clockworks Stamp Set and stamped the top image three times and the bottom image once in Real Red. The circle in the middle is a pice of Soft Suede punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I used the Affection Collection Stamp Set* for the scalloped cloud, stamped in Crumb Cake, and the wings which are stamped in Real Red. The pocket watch is also from the Clockworks Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede. The clock face is stamped in Real Red and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The hands are stamped in Soft Suede and I used a Metallic 3/16″ Brad in the center and then mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The cool ribbon treatment uses one of the new Round Designer Ribbon Slides* and some Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon and Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon. I used the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet to stamp the greeting with my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig. I really like the way the card came out and hope that you enjoy it too. Thank you very much for visiting to check out this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Have an amazing day!

Paper Players #105 and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was good. I got most of what I wanted to do accomplished. I also went into the city yesterday to see some friends and drop off a Stampin’ Up! order. The best part was driving in and back with the top down in the car! 🙂

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week Jaydee has given us this sketch challenge…

A nice simple layout to work with. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and backed it with a piece of Garden Green. The tree is cut with my Paper Trimmer and mounted to the card. I embossed piece of Very Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and adhered to a piece of Garden Green with some SNAIL. The ornaments are from the Merry Minis Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the coordinating new Merry Minis Punch Pack* to punch them out. The circles behind them are form the Be Of Good Cheer Designer series Paper and are punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I adhered the ornaments to the circles with Mini Glues Dots and the circles are adhered to the tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched the star out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack* from a piece of new Champagne Glimmer Paper*. For the circle to the left I used a piece of Vellum Card Stock with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die. The new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch* is used to punch out a piece of Garden Green. The Cherry Cobbler Circle is punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and the tree with the Merry Mini Punch Pack*. The greeting across the top is from the new Border Banter Stamp Set* and is stamped in Garden green and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you are liking the new items from the Holiday Catalog and that you enjoyed today’s card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. Thank you very much for stopping by and have an great day!

PPA 139 and Sneak Peek

Hello there peeps! Welcome to Saturday! What is everyone doing this weekend? I’m going to try to get some stuff done around the house and then tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan to see a few friends. Hopefully the weather will be nice, it’s not fun in the city when it rains.

Today’s post is for the twice monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This week we have a sketch provided by Margaret Moody…

I decided that this layout would work great for a holiday card. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I used two different strips of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The piece of ribbon across the middle is Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon and is adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip. For the panel in the middle I used some Cherry Cobbler for the backing and the front is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The ornaments are from the new Ornament Keepsake Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. I used the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies* to cut them out. The smaller ornaments were stamped again in Gumball Green and I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the middle and mounted them to the ornaments with Stampin’ Dimensionals. All of the ornaments are also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. I used the 1/16″ Circle Punch for the hole that I threaded the Linen Thread through and tied in a knot at the end. I adhered it to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best part about the stamps used in this card is that they come in a bundle with the Framelits, if you buy them together you save 15%! You know I like fussy cutting but if there is a Framelit it saves a lot of time. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed today’s twice monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Have a happy Saturday!

Freshly Made Sketches #44

Woo hoo! It’s FRIDAY! I loves me some Friday! What is everyone doing for the weekend? I am wishing that I was at Stampin’ Up! Convention, but hopeful next year. I still have big plans to get a lot of stuff done this weekend, I’ll let you know how I do!

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week Jen M. has give us this nice simple sketch…

I decided that I liked the rosette card so much that I made last week that I would do another one. This sketch is perfect for it and the only change I made was to switch the circles. The base of the card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out the circle on the front of the card. Some Floral District Designer Series Paper and the Simply Scored make a really nice simple rosette. I used some Mini Glue Dots to hold the rosette together and the 3/4″ Circle punch and another piece of Floral District DSP to cove the middle. The circle to the left is from the Lacy and Lovely Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. I used the 2 1/2″ Circle punch to crop of the one side and adhered it to the card with SNAIL flush against the side of the circle I punched out of the card. The butterflies are cut out from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit in Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and Rose Red Card Stock. They are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Hello is also from the Lacy and Lovely Stamp set and is stamped in Rose Red, cut out with my Paper Snips and also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I threaded two Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons with Whisper White Bakers Twine and adhered them to the center of the rosette and other circle with Mini Glue Dots. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Friday!
