PPA 125 & Sneak Peek

Hello peeps! I hope everyone is ready for Christmas… I’m not! Anyway, this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge calls for a tag. I decided to use the new Tea Shoppe Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog (available January 4, 2012). I love the vintage feel of the set and the tea cup was perfect for my tag, the tea bag tag. I punched out the tag with the Large Tag Punch. The greeting is punched out with the Modern Label Punch and is also from the Tea Shoppe Set. The Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper is from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog (available January 24, 2012) and I used Pool Party and Soft Suede Card Stock that coordinates with the new DSP. The “awning” has some Poppy Parade 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon that is also from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog and comes as a pack with Lucky Limeade Ribbon and some Designer Printed Brads. The edge was punched out with the Scallop Border Punch. The stamp, also from the Tea Shoppe Set, was inked in Poppy Parade and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. Last, but certainly not least, the cup was inked in Pool Party and cut out. I love all of the items in both of the upcoming Catalogs and can’t wait for all of you to get your hands on them. If you need a catalog, email me and I would be happy to send you one. Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Window Bonsai

It was my friend Kim Doi’s Birthday at the end of November. She is one of the greatest friends that anyone could ask for. She is an avid photographer so I always like to incorporate one of her beautiful pictures into her cards. I needed a way to make a window on a card and I found that Sizzix has a movers and shapers window die that I could use with my Stampin’ Up! Magnetic Movers and Shapers Die. I used some Always Artichoke, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla Smooth Card Stock. The greeting is from Petite Pairs and is inked with Soft Suede. I used the marker to stamp technique on the bonsai tree from the Plant Hope set. It’s markered with Soft Suede, Always Artichoke and Basic Black. She loved the card and it was the perfect way to start our tour of the Midwest! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

PPA 124 & Sneak Peek

I love playing along with the Pals Paper Arts each week. There is nothing like a good sketch to get you inspired to make a card. I was a little sad when I realized that this week will be the last Christmas themed card for the year. The holidays are almost upon us and soon we’ll be in the new year. Time for new challenges and new products from Stampin’ Up! For this card I used some Marina Mist, Real Red, Early Espresso and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch on the “ribbon” across the middle and the rosette was actually made using and old Tim Holtz Sizzix Die and some Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper. The circles on the rosette are made using the 1/2″ and 3/4″ inch Circle Punches. I used one of my favorite new products from the Occasions Mini Catalog (available January 4, 2012), the new Framelits Label Collection Dies. The ornaments are from the Merry & Type Stamp Set and I sponged the edges with some Early Espresso Ink. The greeting is also from the same set and I used the Ticket Corner Punch for a little added detail. I hope that you like the card and that everyone has a happy holiday. Thanks for stopping by!

Kim’s 30th 3D Birthday

My good friend Kim turned 30 on Friday. It is a milestone birthday when you are finally leaving your 20’s but she doesn’t look a day over 18! I wanted to make her a special card and my new favorite is the 3D Window. It takes a while to make one but boy are they worth it! I used some Wisteria Wonder, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla Smooth Card Stock. The stamp sets I used are Delightful Dozen, Happiest Birthday Wishes and Cupcake Builder sets. I used the Cupcake Builder punch for the cupcake and the Itty Bitty Shapes Pack for the Glimmer flowers and circle. The images were stamped in Wisteria Wonder and Chocolate Chip. For some nice texture I used my trusty Perfect Polkadot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Tag Punch was used for… what else, the tag! I hope that you liked the card as much as Kim did. I wish her a very happy 30th year! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thanks – Sneak Peek

Only one week left to get all of your Christmas shopping done! I haven’t even started! But, it’s also a good time to start making thank you’s for all of those wonderful presents you will get. I recently got the 2011 to 2013 In-Color set and I really love the colors. I used some Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral Card Stock and some Calypso Coral Ink for this thank you card. The flower and the circle flowers are from the new Mixed Bunch Clear Mount Set that will be available January 4th in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The small circles were punched out using the 3/4″ and backed with the 1″ Circle Punches. I also used the new Blossom Punch also from the Occasions Mini. I backed it with a circle cut with the Circle Scissor Plus. I love stamp sets that coordinate with a punch. The greeting is from Outline Expressions in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog which will be out January 24th. For the background I used the Perfect Polkadots Texture Impressions Embossing Folder. I love all of the stuff in the new catalogs and I’m sure that you guys will too. Only a few weeks left until you can start ordering from the Occasions Mini. If you would like a catalog mailed to you email me and I’ll get one out to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Contempo Ornaments

Hey everyone! Today’s card is one of the last few Holiday Cards that I have left to post. I got the Contempo Christmas Clear Mount Stamp Set a little later than I should have but I’m glad that I got it. I love the greeting and the ornaments are great. You can use the Ornament Punch like I did to punch out the image after you stamp it. I used some Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine to hang them from the greeting. The Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder makes a nice backdrop for everything. For a little bust of sparkle I punched out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. It’s a nice simple card with a classic look. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Mojo 218

For this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge I decided to do yet another Holiday card. I’m actually kind of upset that Christmas is almost upon us and soon we will be making Valentine’s cards instead. I’m sure that I’ll get over it quickly though, especially with all of the cool new stuff in the Occasions Mini Catalog! For this card I used some Brights Stack Designer Series Paper for the background. I punched the edge of some Marina Mist Smooth Card Stock with the Scallop Edge Punch and the scored some lines in it using the Simply Scored. On top of that I used the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on some Whisper White for some dimension and to tie it in with the dots on the background. I stamped the Noel from the Warmest of Wishes Clear Mount Hostess Set in the Holiday Mini Catalog and then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch and popped it up on Some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched out some circles from the Frostwood Lodge Designer Series paper and used a Stampin’ Marker to put in the “string”. I love playing along each week and hope you enjoy the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Plaid Christmas

Sorry for my lack of posts of late, I’m away with a friend of mine visiting her family. We drove from Kansas City, MO to St. Louis, MO with her sister today. So, I am posting this tonight from the lovely city of St. Louis! This holiday card has my mother’s favorite embellishment on it… butterflies. I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to cut some butterflies out in Cherry Cobbler card stock. I thought that the Garden Green in the plaid from the Frostwood Lodge Designer series pack makes for a nice background and the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border Punch added a nice line to the middle. The sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set. I hope you enjoy the card and thanks for stopping by!

PPA 121

This weeks Pals Paper Arts challenge asks you for a clean and simple design and to add some pearls. I never thought of using the Button, Button Clear Mount Set with the Stitched Stockings before but I really like the way the two look together. I do love me some punches and the Stocking Builder Punch and Circle Punches coordinate with the two stamp sets. I used Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand and Whisper White Smooth Card Stock. I love making Christmas cards that don’t use the traditional red and green. The Stitched Stocking stamped in Rich Razzleberry looks elegant and the Basic Pearls on the snowflake in the middle give it a nice finishing touch. Using the Simply Scored to add some lines to the background is a fast and simple way to get an embossed look and give the card some texture. The greeting is from Petite Pairs which is another great set to have because it has an inside and outside greeting. I’m happy with the way the card came out and I think I’ll make some more of them for my Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
