Freshly Made Sketches 216

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I’m up and out early today, off to Manhattan! I have an appointment at the Apple Store on West 14th for my iPhone and it’s horrible battery and then I’ll be at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara. Tonight we are all going to dinner for a sort of Holiday party! So much fun! Yesterday I crafted and watched Daniel again for a bit. Around 5:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s to get them and the girls and take them to the airport for their little Disney weekend! The traffic was horrendous but that’s NY! When I got home I had some dinner and then Heather stopped by for a bit. Her grandfather is in the hospital and is 93! He’ll be out and back to his old self in no time but I’m sending him well wishes to him anyway. What are you all up to this weekend?

I stopped at Michaels the other day with Sandy after dinner and found this Hero Arts Set that I have wanted for a while and that’s what I used to make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 216

Before I get to my card for this week’s challenge I wanted to thank Linda for making me her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

Today, the card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. That awesome holographic paper is from a 6×6 Pad from Craft Smith that I also picked up from Michaels a while ago and creates my background layer. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I used the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edges Dies on the left side of. The ornaments, string and greeting are all from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the crystals in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock. They are colored with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and water. I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and then heat embossed the strings in Ranger Liquid Platinum and the greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder before adhered the ornaments to the Vellum with Foam Tape. Some more Foam Tape hidden behind the ornaments adheres the Vellum to the card. I love those crystals watercolored and that holographic paper is just the coolest! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Gratitude

OSAT Header

Hello! I hope that you are all enjoying your week! I had a productive day with Sue and listing things on Etsy. I finally set up my store too and you can visit it HERE. I have just a few cards up on it for now but will be adding more in the future! After that I came home and spent a little time with Taylor before getting ready to go out with Sandy for dinner at Friday’s. We had a lovely time and it was great to catch up with her. She brought over her new MacBook for a few lessons and she will be an expert in no time! It’s so nice and thin, she got the space gray one, really beautiful! She left around 10:30 and I watched a little TV before calling it a night.

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Gratitude! If you have arrived here from Marisa welcome! She had some great projects, didn’t she?! I have a card and a fun gift card holder for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is the card. I used some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. My background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wood Embossing Folder. A partial circle is cut out from the lower right with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and Fun Foam and SNAIL adhere it to the card. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink using the Hero Arts Holiday Pine Branches Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I adhered them in the circle with SNAIL. For the 25 I used some Gold Glimmer Paper and the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. I also cut out a piece of Fun Foam and adhered it to the back with Multi-Matte Medium before adhering them to card with the same. The thanks is cut from Solar White 80lb and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Kraft with the pops of Green and Gold, makes for an elegant yet understated thank you card!

OSAT December Blog Hop - Card-WM

Next up is the coordinating Gift Card Holder. I used the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Die to cut out a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The front is stamped with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. Some Scor-Tape is used to adhere the box together. The stamped images and numbers are the exact same as the ones that I used on the card. I adhered the leaves with SNAIL and the numbers are adhered with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I love the pillow box from Lawn Fawn, it’s sized to perfectly hold a gift card!

SIP Challenge 26 – A Sketch from Maggie!

It was another really nice day here yesterday! I’m liking their forecast that we are to have a warm December! Hopefully that will carry into January, February and March as well! I had a very productive day yesterday! I was at my friend Sue’s most of the day working on some listings for Etsy. I spoke to Michael for a bit and then headed back home to have some dinner with the ‘rents! After dinner I came home and puttered around the house for a bit and then watched a movie. Today I’m going to be productive again and get some little errands done that I have been putting off and spend some quality time in the Stampin’ Galley too!

Today is Tuesday and it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a sketch from Maggie…

SIP Sketch Challenge 26 800

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the card is a shaker… shocker! LOL! I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die to cut out a piece of Solar White 110lb and the center from a piece of Smoky Slate. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back of the Smoky Slate with Scor-Tape and the snowflake panel is adhered to the acetate in the cut out with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Two layers of Foam Tape around the back make a nice well for my shaker material. I added some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins and Silver Seed Beads before adhering a piece of Night of Navy to the back. Three banners, also cut form Night of Navy, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and then the shaker is adhered with more Scor-Tape. My greeting is from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Vellum. I flagged the left side of the Vellum and adhered it to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. As simple as a shaker can get! I’m still loving that Snowflake Block Die and the great blue, white and grey color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge from Maggie! Make sure an stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s (including Michael this week!) cards and show Maggie some love by entering your project in the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have a thrilling Tuesday! 🙂

Crisp Blue Winter Cardinal

It was another fun filled day here yesterday! I got my hairs cut in the morning and then came home and FaceTimed with Andrea while we both made cards. My mum had a Doctors appointment so I got to hang out with Daniel for a bit. When my brother got home he hung out here for a while until my parent’s got back and then he and Daniel went over to my parent’s. Later on I met up with my friend Louis and we went over to Seaford Middle School to see the winter concert that they were having. Andrew and Satellite Lane performed, it was great to see all of them. We sat with Kayleigh and Andrew’s parents. Kayleigh is Andrew’s girlfriend and she is awesome! After that we went to the Freeport Diner for a late dinner and then came back to my house and watched some YouTube videos. There is a new artist called Troye Sivan and he was on Elvis Duran the other morning. He has an album out called Blue Neighbourhood and it’s fantastic! We watched some of his videos and then called it a night. I’m off to The Ink Pad today to hang out with Anna, always fun!

My card that I have for you today uses some more new goodies that I got on Black Friday from Altenew. My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to create that subtle sky that I love so much lately. The cardinal, branches, feet and berries are from the Altenew Winter Cardinal Photopolymer Stamp Set, the branches are stamped in Hero Arts Cup O Joe, the feet in Butter Bar and the berries in Altenew Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the background is then mounted to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. For the cardinal I used my MISTI and Altenew Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk and Desert Night Crisp Ink to stamp the layers from lightest to darkest. He is cut out with my Paper Snips and then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. You know how I love some layering stamps and the cardinal is amazing! I also have to say that Altenew Crisp Ink are great, they stamp very nicely! I hope that you enjoyed my card today and I thank you so much for visiting! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

The Ink Pad Tons of Fun Class Cards

Wow! Wednesday already?! Busy week’s do move fast! I had a nice crafty morning yesterday making some tags for my next class at The Ink Pad on the 16th. It was rainy so it was the perfect day to be holed up in the Stampin’ Galley! I went over to my parent’s for lunch and spent some time with Daniel playing before coming back home for a bit. Heather came by around 6:00 to pick me up so we could run to her office and get her things from her desk. She is officially a remote employee and couldn’t be happier! After she dropped me off I ran a few errands and then sat down to watch my show, Limitless but they changed the time so I’ll have to catch it on the internet. Today I am going to be crafty again, more rain!

I promised the class from The Ink Pad that I would post the cards today so here they are!

Fab Friday 78

Are you able to move yet or are you still stuffed like a turkey from yesterday’s meal?! I was pretty well behaved although I did eat more than my share of Erika’s stuffed meatballs! Dinner was very low key and I was back in the Stampin’ Galley by 6:00. I made the mistake of turing on the TV and got sucked into Night at the Museum. Taylor had to work until 2:30am at Michaels and we ran over to Target when she got out. I am thinking that this morning will be another late one! LOL! So I think that I will schedule this post!

Friday and it’s a Fab Friday too! We have a fun sketch for you this time around…

Fab Fri 78 11-27-2015

I decided that I would use this month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit to make my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Real Red to the front and used a piece of the Pinkfresh Studios 6×6 Paper that came in the kit for the background. All of the images and greeting, including the sequins, are from the Gifts of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set also included in the kit. I stamped the tree in Simon Says Stamp Teal Ink and the trunk in Khaki. My sequins, cat and gifts along with the ornament are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used some punches to punch out the sequins and the rest of the images are cut out with my Paper Snips. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on another piece of Real Red and adhered to the background. The gifts are adhered with SNAIL and the cat and tree with Foam Tape. Finally I adhered the sequins with some Bling Glue Dots and added a thick layer of Glossy Accents to them for a little more shine! I love all of the goodies in this month’s kit and I especially love the colors! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you! Thanks you so much for visiting today and I wish you all a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 425

And how was your weekend?! Mine was good! Yesterday I went to the movies with Andrew and Brian to see The Hunger Games – Mockingjay 2 and it was really good! Andrew was relieved that it ended! LOL! You remember that he doesn’t like sequels! After that we took Brian home, he had peeps coming over, and Andrew and I had lunch at Friday’s. From there we came back to my house and decided to start cleaning out the Stampin’ Galley. We managed to box up most of my old sets and made loads of room for new stuff! It also prompted me to clean off my desk, I can’t remember the last time that I saw all of the top of it! I should have taken a before pic!

Clean Desk!

It was so nice to make today’s card on that desk! I did have a bit of a headache again in the middle of the day and that took a bit to go away but when it finally did leave I got my crafty on! I finished off the evening watching some of the AMA’s. Love a Sunday spent with friends!

Isn’t it neat that we get to start each week with a fun sketch from Mojo Monday?! Here is this week’s…

Mojo425

I was inspired to make a card using some Bronze by one that I saw on Pinterest last week so I picked some up when I was at The Ink Pad on Saturday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire card front covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The strip down the middle is a piece of Island Indigo that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My panel is a piece of EK Success Adhesive Wood Sheet and it’s adhered to a piece of Solar White 110lb. I put some Versa-Mark on the edges and heat embossed it with Ranger Copper Embossing Powder and then adhered the wood piece to it. The snowflakes, numbers and greeting are also embossed in Copper. They are cut out from Solar White 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Nadine and Kinley Snowflake Dies along with the abstract numbers, cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Number Block Dies. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees Dies. I adhered the large snowflake and greeting with Multi-Matte Medium and the numbers with Foam Tape. For the small snowflake I used teeny pieces of Cool Tak Clear Foam Tape. I am loving the Copper Embossing with the Kraft and Island Indigo! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the blog and take a peek at what the rest of the Team has created to inspire you! Thank you so very much for checking in with me! Have a super duper Monday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Theme 171

So how is your week going so far? Mine isn’t too bad, I actually got a lot accomplished around the house yesterday! Brian came over in the morning and helped me rearrange the furniture in my bedroom and it seems much bigger now! I dusted and vacuumed the whole house and then went on a purge spree! Love when I get in that mood! I like to keep boxes that things come in, not the best idea when you have a very small apartment! I threw out a ton of boxes and other crap that I no longer need! Feels so good! I had dinner with my parents, brother and Daniel. He was a bit cranky yesterday because he skipped his nap! I get like that too! LOL! Later on I ran up to Michael’s to get a few supplies and then came home and crafted for a bit before watching Limitless! Love that show!

Well, it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge and it’s a theme…

PCCCS171 DT Theme 11-18-2015

Thank you cards, you can never have enough of those! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I covered the entire front in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card that I stamped some leaves, well, a lot of leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Apple of My Pie Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and then heat embossed them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. They are colored in with my Paintbrush, some water and Yellow Ochre, Vermillion, Crimson Red and Deep Green Royal Langnickel Watercolors. Here is what the panel looks like by itself…

PCCCT171 Background-WM

After they dried I adhered the panel to the card with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. The greeting is also form the Apple of My Pie Stanp Set and is heat embossed with more Gold on Vellum. I cut the frame out with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cut from another piece of Kraft, heat embossed a additional greeting on the bottom of the frame and adhered the greeting to it. I decided at the last minute that I could make this a shaker card so I adhered 3M Foam Tape along the edges and filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Confetti. I do love that greeting and the way that you can still make out the leaves behind it and see the confetti! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Theme challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have done and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 212

Hi there and welcome to Saturday and the start of the weekend! I had a nice day yesterday! Got my haircut and then came home and did a little organizing and crafting. I had to run to Michaels and Target and then I went over to my parent’s to see little Daniel. I got him some new colored pencils because his other ones kept breaking and I was a little tired of sharpening them! After dinner I met up with Heather and took a ride with her out to see Patti and Tom and the kids. We had a nice visit and then I spent a little time at her house while she packed. I’m off to the city again this morning to see some friends and then stop by The Ink Pad to help Anna with a few things. Should be another great day!

Oh, Michael has been a busy boy this week! He has five blog posts for you to read! Click HERE To go to his blog and take a look at his projects and some goodies that I sent to him! 🙂

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 212

I loosely interpreted the sketch so I could use a new stamp and die set that I recently acquired! The card base is Neenah Solar White 100b Card Stock. My background is created with a piece of Solar White 80lb and some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink and the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. I stamped the greeting from the Hero Arts Acts of Kindness Photopolymer Stamp Set. It’s part of Jennifer McGuire’s Share Handmade Kindness Campaign and 25% of the profits got to the Kindness Campaign to help end bullying. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red, Lake Shores, Scuba and High Dive and Hero Arts Cup ‘O Joe and Butter Bar and used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. The branch and the feet are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and the bird, wing and flower are adhered with Foam Tape. I love that bird and the way he looks on the background! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for stopping by and have a super Saturday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 170

Already halfway through the week! Like they promised yesterday it rained here all day. I did run over to Scrap-A-Latte and I spent some time with Renee. We went over this month’s sets for class and I picked out some paper. After I got home I watched a little YouTube on my Apple TV and then finally started to straighten up the Stampin’ Galley. There is still a lot more that needs to be done but I finally did start! I went over to my parent’s for dinner and Daniel discovered that he really likes corn, he had about four helpings! Back to my house and some craftiness before watching Limitless and then speaking to Carolyn on Skype for a little bit before calling it a night.

Today I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS170 DT Sketch 11-11-2015

I played with some Hero Arts goodies to make my card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used another piece for the background. It’s created with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry and a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The flowers are form the Hero Arts Let Love Grow Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Hot Mama, Green Apple, Green Leaf and Hero Arts Unicorn Ink right onto the background. Next up are a strip of Blackberry Bliss and a some Vellum, both are flagged and adhered to the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Butterflies Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. Some Simon Says Stamp Duckling, Rosie Cheeks and Teeny Bikini are used to stamp it and it’s cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. A few pieces of Foam Tape hold it in place. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cuts. I cut it out from a piece of Black 110lb and Black Fun Foam, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. There has to be some sequins so I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix and Summer Mix randomly around the images. I needed a nice bright card to help chase away all of the rain and I think this one is perfect! I hope that you enjoy my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take a trip over to the blog to see the rest of the Design Team’s cards to inspire you! Thank you so much for taking some time out of your to come by and see what I’m up to!
