Paper Craft Crew 242

Wednesday already! It was a quiet day at the Store. Renee did have a few people in to do some make up projects. I made a few cards and spoke to Sue. After work I came home, my Parent’s were out at my Brother’s watching the kids. Jim came by and we went for a nice long walk on the bike train again. On the way back we stopped and got Zorn’s for dinner. We worked on the crafty project, we are almost finished, and watched a little TV. Today Renee is off taking care of last minute baby shower things so I’ll be alone. I’m going to try and focus on getting things done! 😀

Since it is Wednesday that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I did a card with a nice ink blended background! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Pale Tomato, Dark Quartz and Soft Vanilla Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb and set is aside for a little while to dry. Of course after about 10 minutes I got impatient and sped up the drying with my Heat Tool. After it was completely dry I used my Powder Tool and then stamped the images from the Hero Arts Dreams are Made Photopolymer Stamp Set In Versa-Mark and heat embossed them in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Next I used the Hero Arts Floral Border Fancy Die to cut out a piece of Deep Blue. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a strip of Vellum that is adhered around the back of the blue die cut. I added some 3M Foam Tape to the back of the blue die cut and adhered it to the card. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins and the card is done. I do love that Dreams are Made Set, there are some fun images and great greetings in there! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wicked Wednesday! 🙂

Fab Friday 104

Oh, it’s Friday! Which doesn’t mean much for me! LOL! The Pop-In for a Make and Take was a success at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! We had lots of fun and I sold a bunch of the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Treat Box and Put a Bow On It Lawn Cuts! I left the Store a little early to get to my Parent’s and see my little buddy Daniel! Oh how I have missed him! We played and ran up and down the stairs again. He’s such a funny little guy. After that it was off to see Heather for Thirsty Thursday. It was just the two of us which was great. I needed to be out of the house and to talk to my bestie! Today I want to get the cards for the rescheduled January Card Class finished and up on Facebook. I only have one left to do. Before we got to today’s card I want to take a minute and thank all of you for your kind words that you left for me yesterday. You guys are all amazing and I’m very lucky to have you in my life! 😀

It’s time now for the Fab Friday challenge…

As soon as I looked at the colors yesterday an idea popped into my head! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I took another piece and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Lawn Fawn Fresh Lavender and Merman Ink, blending to the two colors together and then making it into a banner. It’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner leaving the ends so I could curl them a little. The hearts are all from the Concord & 9th Heart Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set. The large heart is stamped in Fresh Lavender using my Mini MISTI so I could stamp it more than once to get nice coverage. The love heart is stamped in Merman and the other hearts in both colors. I used the Concord & 9th Heartstrings Dies to cut them all out and adhered them to the card with 3M Foam Tape. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is finished! I love the purple and light blue together and that Heartstrings Die is so neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! We hope to see your card in the gallery so stop by the BLOG and get some inspiration from the rest of the Team’s cards! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Grateful Wintry Leaf

Well, what snow we didn’t get on Friday we certainly got yesterday! I think the final total by my house was 6 inches and further out on the Island they got up 12 inches. When I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store it had just started. We decided to close early so I stopped by the Post Office to drop off a bunch of packages and then headed home. The roads were terrible, it was really cold so none of the snow melted. It was like you were driving on little tiny frozen marbles! Thank god for traction control! I’ll tell you, my little car is packed full of nice surprises! The rest of my evening was spent relaxing, I did make another quick card and today I want to get some projects finished at the Store. Hopefully they will have done something with the roads by morning! 😀

As I always say I do like to stretch my stamps and use them for more than what they are intended for and I think that we could all use a little more grateful in our lives! Today’s card uses a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Authentiqe Wintery 12×12 Paper. I heat embossed the leaf from the Concord & 9th Lacy Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. The coordinating dies are used to cut it out along with three pieces of Black 110lb that are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. On my strip of Kraft I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set in Onyx Black and adhered the strip over the leaf to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. All that was left to do was to adhere the grateful to the strip with Multi-Matte Medium. A nice simple card that gets stepped up by the heat embossed Vellum leaf! I hope that you like today’s card! As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

Magical Pink Birthday

Despite the overcast weather and a little bit of drizzle in the afternoon I had a really nice day in Manhattan yesterday! The train was empty on the way in and on the way home! I went and visited my friends Jon and Mary in the morning and then walked from 86th and West End Avenue to 57th and Lexington Avenue. I got my steps in yesterday, a total of 6 1/2 miles! I wandered around Midtown and then went to visit my friend Carolyn and got to meet her parents! They were very nice people! After the city I stopped home and dropped off my backpack and went over to BK Sweeney’s to meet my friend Jim for dinner. I also ran into my friend Melissa, so great to see her! After a little coffee at Starbucks and some dessert I called it a night. I’ll be happy to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store today, I have missed it!

The card that I have to share with you today is one that I made for one of Taylor’s friends for her birthday a while ago. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry to a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor card and spritzed it with a little water. My flying unicorn is from the Waffle Flower Magical Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the wings. The magical is cut out using the Waffle Flower Magical Word Die from a piece of Silver Glitter Paper. My background is adhered to the base with E-Z Runner and the unicorn and word with Multi-Matte Medium. It’s definitely a very girly card, perfect for the sweet 16’s recipient! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for stopping by! Have a very nice Tuesday! 🙂

Holly Day Ornaments

What a super busy day I had at the stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! The ladies were there for the crop and a bunch of them decided that they would make cards. I demoed the MISIT and helped them out with some Altenew and Concord & 9th Stamps. I also snipped dies apart and played with Evelyn’s new Gemini Die Cutting Machine. Renee’s daughter Krista stopped by to make some things for a Bridal Shower that she is a part of next week. I helped her with the cards and Renee helped her with the Bridal Bingo. After work I came home and met my Parents and we went to Applebee’s for dinner. When I got back to the house I watched a little TV and then called it night. Today is day 2 of the crop… more fun ahead! 😀

For today’s craftiness, I have a relatively simple card that I made using some Hero Arts sets! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the pine branches from the Hero Arts Happy Holly Days Photopolymer Stamp Set in Green Hills and Forever Green directly onto the card front. My ornaments are from the Hero Arts Ornaments Stamp & Die Combo, I stamped them in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink onto some Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. They are colored in with Mermaid Lagoon, Mustard Seed and Wilted Violet Distress Inks and an Aquawash Waterbrush. After they dried I cut them out with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Before I adhered my Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Amethyst, Lemon and Sea Breeze Sequins I stamped my greeting in the lower left from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Intense Black and the card is finished! I love the ornaments, especially “watercolored”! I hope that you like my card for today! Thanks for your visit! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

City Night Sky Santa

It started off chilly here in the morning but warmed up as the day went on. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte were filled with peeps having fun with Renee’s wine glass candle holder projects! Taylor came up to the store and hung out for the day too! I got a few cards made and that is always a good day! After work my friend Marianne followed me home and we went up to IKEA. I had to get some pillowcases, I really like their sheets, they are 100% cotton! I also ended up getting a new area rug for the living room and Marianne picked up a few more things than she planned. After IKEA we went and had a little dinner at Noodles & Company. From there is was off to A. C. Moore, Marianne had a few things that she needed to get. When I got back to my house I sat down in the Stampin’ Galley and worked on today’s card! Today I have a bunch of things to get accomplished at the Store, I’ll be off tomorrow for Heather’s Dad’s funeral.

There was a nice little surprise waiting in the mailbox for me when I got home yesterday, the My Monthly Hero Kit finally arrived so of course I had to have a little play with it! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Black. To create my background I masked off about 1 1/4″ of the bottom of a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Cornflower and Navy Ink. I then moved the mask and applied Grape Juice and Navy to the top part. I took a picture of the panel when I had finished my ink blending. You can see how it looks a little blotchy…

ha-ink-blending-wm

As you will see on the final card the ink evens out nicely after about 20 minutes! I used my heat tool to make sure that the ink was completely dry, I wanted to heat emboss the Santa and sleigh from the October My Monthly Hero Kit with some Onyx Black and Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. Next I die cut the cityscape and bridge from the Hero Arts Skylines Fancy Dies. The buildings are cut from Black and the bridge from Ionized Curious Metallic. I adhered the buildings with Dot Runner Adhesive and the bridge with Black 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is also from the stamp set included in the kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing powder onto another piece of Black. The left side is flagged and more Black 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the card. The sky needed some stars so I picked a few out of the Little Things by Lucy Platinum Mix and adhered them with Multi-Matte Medium. I really do love the way the Hero Arts Inks blend,  just a little patience and you get amazing results! I hope that you enjoyed my little city Holiday card today! I appreciate you coming by and wish you all a simple Sunday! 🙂

Paper Players 315

What a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I mentioned that they are doing construction right?! Well yesterday it was our turn to have the facade of the building taken down. So much noise and mess! Renee was smart and took the day off! I did have one person come in the morning to make the house. Around 3:30 I lost internet because they cut the cable wire! I called the rest of the people that were scheduled to take the class and said we would have to reschedule and I closed up around 4:00. Don’t ask what the cable is just cut it! So annoying! I stopped home and then went over to Heather’s so we could run some errands and have dinner. Kim and Stephanie came by for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always. Today I need to get a ton of projects finished and hopefully we will have internet!

Today I have my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

paper-players-315

My friend Andrea very cleverly said to me, well you were going to share the house on your blog so why not use it for the challenge?! She is so smart sometimes! Here is the 3D Haunted House that I made for the class! I used the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling and the Village Manor Add-On Dies. All of the main parts of the house are cut from Black 110lb Card Stock and the fence, chimneys, door and windows from Battleship Gray. I used Vellum in the windows and the roofs are cut from American Crafts Black Glitter Card Stock. The windows, doors and chimneys have a little Black Soot Distress Ink added. I used Scor-Tape and Multi-Matte Medium to glue everything together. For a little extra spook I added a sparkly bat and ghost. There is a flickering tea light inside too! I do love the way the house came out! It’s simple but fun! I hope that you like my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 257

I had another dressing appropriately issue again but I wasn’t the only one! When I went outside at 7:30 yesterday morning it was chilly and overcast, I wore long pants and a sweatshirt. By the afternoon I was roasting! LOL! The sun had come out once again and it was a lovely day! Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me cut for today’s Haunted House class. She was dressed for fall too! I cut a few extra kits and will post a picture of the house over the weekend in case anyone is interested. Taylor had text me during the day and asked me if I would pick something up for her and drop it off at her house then Heather called and asked if I would run over to her house and set her DVR to record some stuff. I also had to run to Target, I sold my Nespresso to Heather a few months ago and miss it and they had one on clearance for $138 (originally $279!)!! So I ran all over. Taylor did text me and say that she wanted to get out of the house so I picked her up before Target. She is still in pain and her mouth is swollen but she is feeling a little better. I passed on all of your sage advice to her and she said to thank you! When I got back to the house I had a few espressos and then relaxed for a bit! Yes, caffeine has absolutely no effect on me… I wish it did!

I did squeeze in a little crafty time yesterday and the card that I made is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-257

I have had an idea for the Hero Arts Cardinal Set for a while so I gave my idea a try, you’ll have to let me know what you think! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Lawn Fawn Bluejay Card Stock, subliminal I guess! For my background I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Hero Arts Soft Vanilla and Butter Bar Ink to create a little sunny sky. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Intense Black. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The “bluejay” is from the Hero Arts Cardinal Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped him in Soft Granite, Cornflower, Navy and Intense Black. He and his feet are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The pine branches and pinecones are from the Holly Days Stamp & Die Combo and are stamped in Green Fields and Cup O Joe and also cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the pine branches with Dot Runner Adhesive and the pinecones and bluejay with 3D Foam Squares. It needed one more thing… oh yes… a few Pretty Pink Posh Cornflower, Mossy Green and Lemon Drop Sequins! I have to say that I really like the cardinal made to look like a bluejay and the background blended with the Hero Inks is just lovely! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 68 – Card Maker’s Choice!

Well, the sun finally came out yesterday after not seeing it for a week! I wasn’t sure what it was at first but then I remembered! LOL! I had a busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Renee had her Christmas Card Club and the ladies wandered in and out all day making their cards. I managed to get two cards made and a lot of other administrative stuff done! After work I came home and had some dinner and then went over to Heather’s to catch up on some TV. I’m off from the Store today, I have to go and take Taylor to get her wisdom teeth removed. Not fun. And then I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Ella for a bit. Yay for back to Manhattan!

Tuesday’s mean a new challenge over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

sip-challenge-68

Cardmaker’s Choice is always a favorite! I played with some more soon to be released Mama Elephant! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Hero Arts Navy and Grape Juice Ink to create a night sky background. Next up I die cut a piece of Black 110lb with the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts. The skyline is adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and the road has a piece of white behind it and then 3D Foam Squares hold it in place. My houses are from the Mama Elephant City Sidewalks Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Prismacolor Pencils to color in the buildings and the Coordinating Creative Cuts to cut them out, some more 3D Foam Squares adhere them to the card. My trees and phone box are also from the set and are adhered to the buildings with still more 3D Foam Squares. The greeting is a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Spreading Holiday Cheer Creative Cut. I used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to hold it to the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give it just a little shine! I love those cute little buildings and the way the Hero Arts Ink blends is just fantastic! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Maker’s Choice challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the talented Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery and share it with us! Thank you very much for visiting today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 255

Wow! It’s Friday! We had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I worked on some projects and Renee rearranged things! She does that every once in a while. My Parent’s stopped in for a visit which is always fun! After work I stopped home and chanegd into jeans before heading over to Heather’s. She had some pizza and a glass of wine waiting for me, she’s the best! Stephanie came by and we left to go to the Softball game. We had a nice time even if they did loose. We laughed and I chased Stephanie around the field! Here is a picture of the three of us on the bleachers…

me-heather-steph-softball

We look like we are having fun don’t we?! Today I have to get a little more organized at the store, I have started to create piles on my desk and that is never a good thing!

I have a bunch of new Hero Arts goodies from the last release that are just begging to be played with so I used one of them for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-255

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the script from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Stamp & Cut Combo Set in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. It’s adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My cardinal, poinsettia and pine cones, all from the same set, are all double stamped onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper in Hero Arts Intense Black using my Mini MISTI. The pine branch and holly are stamped in Hero Arts Pine Hybrid. I used Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany, Mowed Lawn and Gathered Twigs Distress and a Waterbrush to color them in. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Black 3D Foam Squares and Dot Runner Adhesive. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Brass onto a piece of Chinese Red and adhered with more Black 3D Foam Squares. Yup, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold, Concord & 9th Birthday Bash Mix and Christmas Mix Sequins to the card to give it a little bling! I love that Vintage Post Set, so many nice images, great for collage cards! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a fun Friday! 🙂
