SIP Challenge 43 – A Sketch!

So, how was your Monday? Mine was pretty good! I crafted with Andrea via FaceTime in the morning and managed to get three cards made! Love when the Mojo is flowing! It was supposed to rain yesterday but didn’t. It was chilly but sunny with a little wind mixed in for fun! I went over to my parent’s for dinner and then Danielle stopped by! I love having weekly visits from her! We chatted and listened to some music and watched some of Magic Mike XXL. After she left I ran to the bank and Target. There were of course rearranging the aisle that I needed to go down so I didn’t get much! Today I have some more crafting to get done, always a good day when there is crafting involved!

It’s Tuesday and I have my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I used a bunch of different goodies to make my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp. It’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. A piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames and I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. Some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink is applied to the Watercolor Card with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. The Gold Frame is adhered to the Acetate with Scor-Tape and some 3M Foam Tape is adhered to the back of that. I added some Gold Chunky Glitter and adhered the Watercolor Card to the back to complete the shaker. My cool flowers and vase are cut from more Watercolor Card using the Concord & 9th Bouquet Die. I used my Mini Ink Blending tool and some Q-Tips to add the Mermaid Lagoon, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber and Twisted Citron to die cut and the adhered it to the front of the shaker with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A strip of Vellum is flagged on the right and adhered to the shaker with Vellum Adhesive. My lovely is cut out twice from Ivory 110lb with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Die. More Spary Adhesive holds them to each other and a little Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the banner. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to the lovely and the card is done! I really do love that Bouquet Die and it looks even more fun with the gold glitter in the shaker behind it! Freshly Made Sketches 231

H A P P Y F R I D A Y T O Y O U ! I still loves me some Friday! It was a little drizzly and a little overcast and a little sunny here yesterday! Lot’s of weather in one day! I went out to Starbucks for coffee in the morning with Brian, we stayed in the store and sat and chatted for a bit. When I got back to the house I FaceTimed with Andrea and we worked on our projects. Later on I went over to my parents to see little Daniel. We had a tickle fight, I always win those! LOL! Around 5:00 Heather came and got me and we ran to BJ’s and OfficeMax. She dropped me off and I had dinner with my parents, brother and Daniel. I stopped back at my house and watched a little YouTube before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always and watched some episodes of Lip Sync Battle. Today I have some errands to run and more crafting to get done! Looks it will be a good Friday!

Some of my crafty time from yesterday made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted to play with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors again! I finished swatching them out, so nice to have a peek at all of the cool colors in there! My card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed my angle on the right of a piece of Copper Metallic Card Stock and adhered that to the front of the base. My flower is from The Ton’s Large Peonies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with Ranger Copper Embossing Powder. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color in the image wetting it first to make sure that the color moved around. The greeting is from the same set, the hello is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black and then heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The rest of my greeting is heat embossed in more Ranger Bronze on a piece of Black 110lb and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and more Fun Foam. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon, Bronze and Pink Peony Sequins complete the card! I love that nice large flower, perfect for watercoloring and I’m so enjoying my new watercolors! Paper Craft Crew 189

Happy mid-week peeps! It’s still freezing cold here and I’m not enjoying it one bit! If you have any hot weather that you can spare please send it my way! Brian stopped by yesterday to visit for a bit in the morning and then I made my way over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. We had a nice little chat and from there I came back home and spent some time with Daniel. Taylor and Kiera stopped by, it was Taylor’s Birthday yesterday, she is no longer a teenager! Boy do I feel old! LOL! Last night Danielle came back over and we finished getting all caught up. I miss her but the stories of work make me glad that I’m not there! Today I need to get crafty, lots of projects to get finished, but you know how I love my crafty time!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I wanted something bright, bold and quirky! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I spattered the front with some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. The flagged piece is some Canson 140lb Watercolor Card Stock that I covered in Wilted Violet Distress Ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s spritzed with water and then I dabbed it with a paper towel leaving that fun Distress Background. A piece of Vellum is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die and adhered behind the flagged piece. I then adhered that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Across the top is a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper and under that is some Purple Smooth Glitter Washi Tape. My feathers and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Dream Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder on more Watercolor Card Stock. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them and then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. They are adhered to the flagged piece with E-Z Runner. I stamped the greeting in Onyx Black from the same set in the lower right corner of the base. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Gold, Ocean Spray and Peacock Feather Sequins are adhered around the feathers for some more sparkle! Mojo Monday 442

What a fun weekend I had! Yesterday it was incredibly windy in Manhattan! Kim and I walked to the Subway together in the morning and it’s good that we were together so that we could stop each other from blowing away! I had a lovely day at The Ink Pad with Jane. The heat was shut off in the building so it was a little chilly in the store. We set up some heaters and had to keep the door locked because it kept blowing open! When we were dome for the day I managed to make the 6:12 and was home by 7:10! Love when the commute from the city takes less than an hour! when I got home I had a little crafting to do and I ran over to my friend Christina’s house to help her with her iPhone. Today I have a few more projects to get through and some errands to run. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer and a lot less windy!

What better way to start of the week than with a Mojo Monday sketch…

I have a little bit of an aversion to busy backgrounds but I thought that I would give one a try today and see what you think! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of Rose Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies. On top of that is a piece of Mint Macaroon and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flagged strip is a piece of So Safron and I heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut out another piece of Night of Navy with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Craft Dies and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My flower is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper cut out with The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Stand Alone Dies. I used some of my Finetec Metallic Watercolors to paint it and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to break up the Mint Macaroon and add a little more sparkle. I love that flower, especially all glitzed up with the Finetec Watercolors! SIP Challenge 41 – Weddings!

And we successfully made it through another Monday! It was rainy here in the early part of the day but the sun did manage to come out for a little bit and then later on it got really windy! Such odd weather! I had another pretty low key day. I ran and picked up Brian in the morning from dropping off his car at Jeep, we went back to his house for a bagel and then I came home. Some crafty time with Andrea via FaceTime passed away a good part of the afternoon and Taylor came by to binge watch Netflix with her eyes closed for while! LOL! Brian called and asked if I would run him back over to get the truck so I did. Some dinner with parents and then a little TV to finish off the day. Oh, I did manage to get into a bit of a cleaning frenzy in the Stampin’ Galley! It looks a lot better! I always find “new” things too! Do you do that? LOL!

Today I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog with the rest of the talented Team for this week’s challenge…

Ahh, I don’t know why I like a wedding card as much as I do! Remember last year when I went through my wedding card marathon?! Today I stared my card with a base of Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I stamped in Versa-Mark with the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints Background Stamp and heat embossed some Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flowers and leaves are from the Clearly Besotted Sketched Blooms and they are heat embossed with the same Silver Pearl on Vellum and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I used a little Multi-Matte Medium strategically placed behind them to adhere them to the card. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp On Edge Love You Die cut from a piece of Solar White 110lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I resisted the temptation to add some sequins, it wasn’t easy! LOL! I do love that the card is basically white, I think that it has a nice simple elegant look to it! Flutter Beautiful Bouquet

Hey there! I hope that your weekend is off to a great start! I enjoyed my time at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday! Renee usually does some kind of special when I’m there minding the shop and yesterday she posted on FaceBook that if you mentioned the post you got 20% off your purchase! Pretty cool! My parents brought Daniel by to see me and a little while later Brian stopped by with Izzy! Nice to have some visitors along with the customers! I FaceTimed with Andrea and updated my old MacBook Pro that I haven’t turned on in over a year! Still runs pretty well considering it’s over seven years old! On my way home I stopped by Heather’s so we could run up to IKEA once again! LOL! She had to get some greenery and a chandelier! Once I got back to my house I had dinner and watched a little TV before bed. Today I’ll be spending the day at The Ink Pad with the lovely Barbara! Come on by and say hi!

So I got some new goodies from Concord & 9th, love that company! I needed to play with them so that’s what yielded today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the entire front with a piece of Black 110lb. Next I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and used my Spellbinders Artisan Explorer Machine to emboss the Concord & 9th Bouquet Die into the paper. I used Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry Distress Markers colored onto an acrylic block along with my paintbrush and some water to loosely trace over the die lines. It’s trimmed down a little and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is cut from a piece of Vellum with the Concord & 9th Floral and Flutter Dies. I cut it again from some more Black 110lb and then trimmed off the wings and adhered the body to the Vellum with Multi-Matte Medium. It’s then adhered to the card with a thin sliver of Foam Tape. The greeting is cut from still more Black 110lb using the Concord & 9th Beautiful You Dies and that is also adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally what card would be complete without a few Aquamarine and Sparkling Clear Pretty Pink Posh Sequins?! I do love the Concords & 9th Dies, especially that butterfly, so nice and different! Global Design Project 28

Happy Friday my friends! It was a little chilly here yesterday and today we are supposed to get rain. I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte for the day so Renee can have a little time to herself. Yesterday I crafted in the morning with Andrea via FaceTime and then went over and had lunch with Brian, Kim and the kiddies. When I got back home I saw Daniel for a little bit and then continued crafting. Around 7:00 Heather called and asked if I wanted to take a ride to IKEA to get a new desk with her so I gladly went. I put the desk together when we got back to her place and then updated her Mac for her. I also installed the software so that she can scan wirelessly. That made her a happy girl! I really do enjoy spending time with my peeps more than anything else!

For today’s card I thought that I would try out a new challenge, the Global Design Project…

I took some of the layout from the card and made a fun little peeps wreath! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add a little Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue to serve as a backdrop for my wreath. The panel is mounted to a piece of Black 110lb and that is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The wreath is cut from some Tim Holtz Watercolor Card using the Simon Says Stamp Chisholm Wreath. I added some Gathered Twigs with an Ink Blending tool and adhered it to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder on more Watercolor Card and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. To color them in I used Abandoned Coral, Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron Distress Markers scribbled onto a clear acrylic block and picked up with a wet paintbrush. I adhered them to the wreath with Foam Tape and added the eyes and noses with a Black Glaze Gel Pen. A few Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine, Lime Sorbet and Sparkling Clear Sequins are added to the wreath in between the peeps. Finally my greeting, also from the same stamp set, is stamped in Onyx Black in the lower right corner. I still am loving those peeps and they look pretty neat watercolored! What a day yesterday was. I have been trying to sell an iPhone 5S on eBay. The first time to sold over two weeks ago the guy never paid for it and then it turned out to be a fraudulent account. That took way too long to resolve! I re-listed it and someone hit the Buy it Now button and they didn’t pay either. I emailed them 6 times and finally they sent an email back saying that they changed their mind. Umm… that’s not how eBay works! So I give up! I had Subway with Heather for lunch, she made me laugh, always does! I did manage to get in some crafty time and Taylor and Kiera stopped by for a bit. Andrew came over around 5:45 and we headed up to the mall. Some Chipotle for dinner and then off to see Allegiant which was very good by the way! So after a somewhat annoying morning I did manage to end the day on a nice note!

The craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

Yup, I have been plying with my Lawn Fawn a lot again, I really do just love the images and sentiments! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 4 1/4″ wide. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Pacific Point and Solar White 80lb. I then used the Lawn Fawn Forest Border Lawn Cuts to cut out my trees on the White. The green is Mowed Lawn Distress Ink applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. I added a little bit of Pine Needles Distress Ink to the trees and then adhered the green to the blue and then adhered the whole panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals are used to cut out a piece of Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip. The Chocolate Chip is cut again across the middle using the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders and adhered to the Tempting Turquoise. All of the images and greetings are from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the Yeti in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him in with Copics flicking in some of the darker gray to give the appearance of fur. The trees are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and the footprints in Simon Says Stamp Khaki. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I then heat embossed the greeting onto the Chocolate Chip and another piece with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The unbelievable is cutout with the Lawn Fawn Just for You Labels Lawn Cuts. My trees are adhered with E-Z Runner and the Yeti, footprints and unbelievable are adhered with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins make for some nice stars in the dusky sky! I really do love that Lovable Legends Set, isn’t the Yeti just too cute?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! The Ink Pad Hero Arts Class!

Another fun filled packed Friday! I went and got a haircut in the morning and my mum was there too so Erika dropped Daniel off. We walked around and looked at all of the stuff they have and then Daniel told one of the girls that the tree in the window was dusty! LOL! When I was finished with my haircut I got a text from Brian and he came by and picked me up from my house to go and have some lunch. We had Taco Bell, I haven’t had that in ages! After lunch I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to prepare for class at The Ink Pad. I took the 4:45 train in and got caught up with Jane and Brianna when I got to the store. We had a great class, everyone had fun and made some amazing cards! My friend Kim came for the first time and really enjoyed herself! After the class Kim and I went and had Dirty Bird for dinner and then made our way back up to her apartment. Today I’ll be heading back to The Ink Pad to spend the day with Anna! Here are pictures of my talented students from last night’s class…

Paper Craft Crew 184

What’s up peeps? How is your week progressing? Mine… can’t complain! I had a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday. Yesterday was also my dad’s birthday so I made him a fun and simple card using some patterned paper while I was there! I even used the Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope, the card was 5×7, which I think is a first for me! When I got home I started to craft for a bit and then Heather called so I ran over to see her and then did a little more crafting when I got home before calling it a night! Here is the card that I made for my dad, very simple but it definitely describes him!

I used a bunch of different papers from the PhotoPlay This Guy 12×12 Paper Collection. Isn’t it great when you can make a card with just patterned paper?!

Now on to today’s post! It’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge…

I used some Lawn Fawn… again! I’m really obsessed with their latest release, especially the Lovable Legends set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the right is a strip of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a bunch of circles from Solar White 80lb and a piece of Vellum. On some of the circles I used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Waves Borders Lawn Cuts. I then added some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue and Cloudy Sky ink to them with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. My images and greeting are all from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Kraken and ship are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I adhered the Kraken in the waves with Foam Tape along with the ship. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing powder on Vellum and then mounted to a piece of Basic Gray. Before I adhered all of the pieces to the card with Foam Tape I added two strips, one of Basic Gray and one of Smoky Slate, to lower right. Finally, I scattered some Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins across the circles. I really do love that set and it looks so neat all colored in with Copics!
