Paper Players 278

What a nice day I had yesterday! Kim made some very impressive oatmeal for breakfast yesterday morning, it had blueberries and blackberries and all kinds of other goodness in it! The cable guy showed up on time and was there about an hour. He finished and I left the apartment and headed over to see my friend Isabella. It’s always so nice to catch up with her! From there it was off to the Subway and back to Penn Station to head back out to the Island. I had a little lunch when I got home and then later in the evening Danielle stopped by to get some cards from me. I do miss seeing her and the rest of the crew but after she tells me the goings on at the office I certainly don’t miss that! LOL! Danielle left around 7:00 and I headed over to get Heather and we went to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to her house we watched some ID TV, quite addictive! Like I said, I had a very nice day!

I thought that I would mention that if you are looking for any crafting supplies you might want to head over to my friend Sue’s Etsy shop FlowerCraftEmporium! She has a lot of cool stuff for sale!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Before we get to this week I want send some love Claire’s way for selecting me as her headliner for last week’s color challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #278

I do love a Valentine! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of black and white Washi Tape. I used the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Red Felt and Black 110lb. They are then adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with SNAIL. My tag is cut from some more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Craft Dies. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black and White Baker’s Twine through the top and adhered the tag to the card with Foam Tape. Another heart is cut out with the Hearts Stackables from a piece of My Mind’s Eye Christmas on Market Street Gold Foil Vellum and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. The little red heart is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I die cut a piece of American Crafts Red Glitter Paper along with some Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Craft Dies. They too are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the simplicity of the card and the texture of the red felt adds that little extra something! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players CAS Valentine challenge from Sandy! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! I wish you all a very happy Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 31 – Birthday!

I had a very low key Monday. I FacetTimed with Andrea in the morning and then took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to go over next month’s class with Renee. A bunch of the ladies were there scrapping the day away and Angie was playing with Renee’s new Cricut Explore Air. They were cutting out embellishments for pages. Boy do they require a lot of assembly! After that I came home and UPS delivered my new Vacuum! I got it on HSN for a great price after my Dyson died. I had it for 6 years but I would expect a $400 vacuum to last longer than that! This time I got a Hoover Windtunnel Air and boy does it have some impressive power! The woman in the video on HSN actually had the vacuum stick to the ceiling! You have to take a look at the live presentation video HERE! I was sold! LOL! After dinner I watched a little TV and then made a quick card. Today I’m going over to see my friend Sue and then this evening I’m going to head into Manhattan and stay at Kim’s so I can be there in the morning for Time Warner. A nice little mid-week break from the Island!

Tuesday and we have another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you! This time it’s birthdays…

SIP Challenge 31 - Birthday Theme 800

My card base is Neenah Solar White 11olb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. The patterned paper is from the American Crafts DIY 6×6 Pad and is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Craft Dies. I adhered it on slight angle to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Craft Die and that too is adhered to the card at a slight angle. The balloons pieces of Recollections Red, Gold and Aqua Glitter Paper cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The gold and red one are adhered with SNAIL and the Aqua one with Foam Tape. A piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with one of the other dies from the Birthday Frame and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to balance the bottom of the frame. I love the sparkle on the glitter paper and the background paper makes my want to sing! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Birthday Theme Challenge! Sorry about the random post that got sent out last night from 2012! I can’t explain how that happened! I guess like Grace said the blog wanted to take a walk down memory lane! Hopefully that won’t happen again! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue. We chatted and got some more stuff ready for Etsy. For lunch we went to the deli in East Meadow and had sandwiches and then we stopped in Marshall’s. I got a Chelsea Football Gym Sac, some new slippers and some Jelly Belly Jellybeans! When I got home I had dinner with my parent’s and then came to my house and crafted for a bit before working on the blog update again. Hopefully I will finish that today and have the new look ready to go by tomorrow!

My inspiration for my craftiness last night was this week’s Paper Players challenge. I wanted to thank Amy for making me her Headliner for the last challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #276

That’s a nice fun and simple challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a bunch of different dies to create my greeting. The Happy is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Snow Craft Die and the birthday is from the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words: Birthday Die. They are both cut out from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper that is adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with some Stick-It. The 21 is cut out from some Adhesive Cork Sheet that I adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. My th is cut from some more of the cork using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies. The panel is a piece of Watermelon Wonder that is cut out with the Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die, it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the greeting. I like the nice pop of black along with the subtleness of the cork against the bright notebook page and fun background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge from Joanne! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

I had a nice day yesterday! Kim and I went over to breakfast with Brian and Kim. My friend Sam was there and had some great news to share with everyone, she is pregnant with twins! We had a very nice time catching up and Brian made a delicious breakfast as always! After that Kim and I picked up my friend Maureen and we headed over to the Walt Whitman mall. Kim stopped at Apple and got a new Apple TV and we stopped by Lush to say hi to Kiera and Dan. From there it was off to Monty’s for some lunch. On the way home we stopped and got some Starbucks and then just came back to my house and relaxed for a bit. Last night Kim and I watched Jurassic World and then Exodus – Gods and Kings. This morning we are going to meet Heather for breakfast and then Kim will go back to Manhattan later on.

I made a quick card last night, just a simple one that would be good to send to a crafty friend! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Craft Die to cut out a piece of Recollections Teal Glitter Paper. A piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals and adhered over the leaves and to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The butterfly is a piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Butterfly, it’s adhered to the oval with a Glue Dot. My greeting is another piece of Black 110lb that I die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Create Craft Die and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and Fun Foam. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and Ocean Spray Sequins finish the card. I love the teal and black together and that teal woodgrain on the paper is really neat too! I hope that you enjoyed todays card! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have an awesome Sunday! 🙂

CYCI 100

Another late morning! I have to say that I think that the reason that I wake up late is because it’s 86 degrees in my house! I need to do something with the heat situation! I’m cooked into a coma every night! LOL! I did have a very nice day with Sue yesterday, we made an ornament and went out to lunch at Panera. We also stopped at the shoe store and I got a new pair of boots! It was fun playing in her craft room, she has lots of stuff! When I got home I had some dinner and got to see Daniel for a bit. From there it was back to my house to craft for a bit and then I ran over to see my friend Maureen and then stopped by Target to pick up some essentials. I finished the evening with a little Skype session with Eva. She reminded me that it was the 100th challenge for Can You Case It so I had to make a card and that’s what I have for you today!

CYCI #100

The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set to create a background on a piece of Solar White 80lb. The snowflakes are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Steel Blue, Hot Mama, Smoke and Thistle Ink. It’s adhered to a piece of Recollections Purple Glitter Paper and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Cloudy Sky and Hot Mama with the swirl stamped in Smoke on a strip of Solar White 80lb. That too is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My penguin is one of the stickers from the sticker sheet included in the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit and is adhered to the greeting strip with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish off the card! I love the nice mix of colors and that little penguins is just too cute! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the CYCI 100th Challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I wish you all a wonderful last Wednesday of 2015! 🙂

Golden Wish Thanks

Hello there and welcome to the last Monday of 2015! My weekend was great, as it always is when I spend it in Manhattan! I had another fun day yesterday. I stopped by my friends Jon and Mary’s in the morning and they gave me a big bottle of maple syrup that had brought back from one of their trips up to their house in Vermont. Can’t wait to have that on some homemade waffles! From there I headed down to The Ink Pad to hang out with Jane. We had another fun and busy day. Before I headed back out to the Island I met up with Kim at Grand Central for dinner. We had Junior’s. It was the biggest hamburger I have had in a long time and the pickles and cole slaw were delicious! Grand Central and Penn Station were very crowded with people making their way home after the long Holiday weekend but I managed to get a seat on the train and was home by 9:15. I checked my Apple Watch last night and between Saturday and Sunday I walked a total of 12 miles and since I walk so fast it burned off 1200 calories! Not bad for some exercise this weekend!

As I was perusing the Internet yesterday I noticed that I was on the Trending with the Ton post from Saturday! They featured my card for the class that I gave at The Ink Pad using the Pyrotechnics Set! You can take a look at the post HERE! Love that set!!

And I have another picture of Daniel to share with you from Christmas! So cute and my brother is a really good photographer!

Daniel Christmas 2015

While I was at The Ink Pad yesterday I was looking around and I saw this cool small background stamp from Memory Box, I think it’s one from last year but I fell in love with the script on it so I had to have it and that’s what I used on my card for today! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the background stamp on a piece of Cherry Cobbler in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered it to the card off center and down to the right a bit using some SNAIL and Fun Foam. A thin strip of Recollections Gold Glitter Paper is adhered down the left and also used with my little EK Success Snowflake Punch. I heat embossed the thanks from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered that over the wish sentiment that is on the background stamp. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins going from the top left to the bottom right complete the card! I do love when you can have a background stamp be the focal point on a card! I hope that you like today’s card and as always, thanks so much for coming by! Enjoy your last Monday of 2015!! 🙂

Merry & Bright Snowflake Spinner Card

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! It’s going to be in the high 60’s here today, I like that temperature for Christmas Eve! Yesterday it rained all day, again, still better than snow! I went to the mall with Brian in the morning, yes, he had to go to the one that they had the shooting at on Tuesday! It wasn’t too crowded and he got all of the stuff that he needed to get. After that we came back to my house so I could get the plates off of my old car and finally turn them in. Christmas week is a good time to go to Motor Vehicles, I was in and out in 15 minutes! After that I hung around the house and FaceTimed with Andrea for a while and worked on some crafty stuff. Today is Michael’s birthday! A very Happy Birthday to you Mr. Trent!! I hope that you have a wonderful day! I have a bunch of last minute projects to get done today so I will be a busy little boy! Are you all done?!

Today I have a relatively easy and fun spinner card for you! I started by cutting a circle out of a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb and one out of Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Nesting Circles Craft Dies. Next I used the Simon Says Stamp Nadine Snowflake to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Aqua Smooth Glitter Paper. I applied some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to the backs of all of the pieces and then sandwiched a piece of DMC Silver Thread between the white snowflakes before adhering the glitter one. A layer of SNAIL is applied to the back of the front panel and the thread is placed on it before adhering it to the base. I ran the card through my Big Shot in a piece of folded computer paper to make sure that it was adhered together really well. Another piece of the Aqua Smooth Glitter Paper along with some Solar White 110lb is then cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Craft Dies. Some more spray adhesive adheres them to each other and the card. Not too complicated but it’s a really fun effect when you open the card and the snowflake spins around changing from aqua to white! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that you are finished with your Holiday preparations! Thanks for stopping by and have a productive Thursday! 🙂

And there are a little less than two more days left until Christmas! Am I ready… nope! I got a few more things accomplished yesterday before I headed into Manhattan for a bit to see Isabella. It was a very rainy and damp day here yesterday and looks to be the same today, but it’s still nice and warm! Heather picked me up from the Hicksville Station with some Wendy’s and we ran over to Target to pick up some odds and ends. I stopped back home for a few minutes before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Tuesday! We had to do it early this week because Thursday is Christmas Eve! A good time was had by all as usual! I finished my card that I was working on when I got home and then was too tired so off to bed. Apparently I was really tired because I woke up late today!

The card for today is a simple shaker! I started off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On a piece of Solar White 80lb I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Green Leaf, Khaki and Fog Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb. To create the shaker I cut out the Hero Arts Large Mason Jar from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and heat embossed the sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To the back I adhered a piece of Acetate and then a layer of Foam Tape. Some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter is added on top of the image and then I lined it up and adhered the two piece together. A strip of Recollections Sliver Smooth Glitter Paper is adhered to the base and then the shaker panel is adhered next to that. A pretty quick and simple shaker to make but still a fun card to give! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks very much for visiting and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 426

It’s the last Monday in November… can you believe that?! Where has this year gone?! It feels like I was just walking around Manhattan with Michael a few weeks ago! And walking around London with Brian a few days ago! Time really does fly when you are having fun so I guess that I have been having a good time! Yesterday I managed to get most of my crafty stuff done, still more to do but I get in my own way sometimes and YouTube is a really big distraction, for me anyway! LOL! This morning I’m going to go and watch Scrap-A-Latte for Renee and then I have my Ton class at The Ink Pad this evening. I’m looking forward to that! It will be a late night but it’s all good!

The start of another week and a new Mojo Monday sketch! Here is this week’s…

Mojo426

I had some more fun with the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock covered with a piece of Real Red. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Squares to cut out my windows. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back with SNAIL and then two layers of Foam Tape. The background is a piece of paper from The PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes 6×6 Paper Pad. Some Recollections Red and Teal Sequins along with a few Red Seed Beads are sprinkled on the background and the window is adhered over to seal them in. Two more pieces of Real Red are flagged and I used my Tuxedo Black Marker to go around the edges before adhering them to the card. The house and greeting are from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Puffy Stickers Pack and are adhered with Foam Tape. A scattering of Jillybean Soup Red and Teal Self Adhesive Sequins are adhered to the card from top right to bottom left. I do love the teal and red together and the puffy stickers are fun! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks very much for coming by today! I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Chisholm Bird Christmas & The Tree!

It was a fun day at The Ink Pad yesterday! I even got to meet one of my blog readers all the way from San Antonio, TX! We took a picture together but I never got the email with it so if you see this please send the picture again! It was drizzly most of the day but we still saw a lot of people! To celebrate Small Business Saturday (and Sunday!) The Ink Pad has 20% off everything in the store! If you are around there tomorrow stop by and tell them that I sent you! I had taken the train in so I got to have a nap on the way home. I figured that it would be difficult to find parking! I had some stew that Mum made and then came home and crafted for a bit before watching The Kingsman. It was a really good movie! Today and tomorrow I have a lot of craft stuff to get done, wish me luck!

Oh, as promised, here is a look at my very non-traditional black Christmas Tree! I love it! It’s nice and tall and skinny! Can you spot all of the initial ornaments that I have on there?

JK Christmas Tree 2015

The card that I made last night when I got home is today’s card! I used a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink and the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to crate the “sky” on the card. A piece of Mossy Meadow is cut out with the Chisholm Die and adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive along with a branch cut from some Early Espresso using the Memory Box Branching Out Die. My bird is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Khaki and Lipstick Red Ink, for the final layer I used Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Recollections Red Tinsel Embossing Powder. His feet are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and they are both cut out with the coordinating Frame Cuts dies. The feet are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the bird with Foam Tape. My greeting is stamped in Lipstick Red using the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set along the bottom right. Finally a few Red Sequins from Michaels are adhered to the wreath and complete the card. I still think the Color Layering Bird is so cool and the wreath is fast becoming a favorite! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and the peek at my very non-traditional Christmas Tree! Thank you very much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Sunday! 🙂
