Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 19

Yeah! It’s Wednesday and that means we are halfway to the weekend! How are you all doing so far? I’m doing ok, I’ll be better of course later because my pre-order from the new Spring Catalog will be in my hands! I can’t wait to play! I’ll have some sneak peeks for you and I’m looking forward to sharing them with you in the coming weeks.

Today’s post is for my Design Team card for the Paper Craft Crew. This week we have a sketch and/or color challenge. I opted to do the sketch part…

I have been a little obsessed of late with the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die. I love it made to look like a manila envelope. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The top half of the background is a piece of paper from the Comfort Café Designer Series Paper. The bottom is created with a piece of Pool Party that I cut with the Large Scallop Edgelits Die and then embossed with the Delicate Details Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of “Vintage” Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon conceals the seam. I used the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die to cut out a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered the one side and the flap to make the tiny manila envelope. The image stamped on it is from the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set and is inked in Pool Party. I stamped the butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set in Pool Part on Pool Party and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. A thin piece of Sticky Strip holds it to the envelope and some Basic Jewels Pearls make the body. The greeting is from the Made for You Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party. The final touch is a piece of Pool Party that I flagged and adhered in the upper left of the envelope. I love the fact that you can fit a gift card inside the envelope as you can see in the second picture. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch card. Paper Craft Crew Sketch 18

Good morning! Well, this week is moving along rapidly. I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already. It will be Christmas before you know it. Time to finish up those cards and get started on making some gifts! I have a question for you, what do you prefer: a store bought gift, a gift card or a handmade gift? My post today is for the Paper Craft Crew. This week we have a sketch…

A fun paneled sketch! My card starts off with a base of Crumb Cake Card Stock. The background uses a piece from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The Cherry Cobbler piece to the left is stamped with the Timber Stampin’ Around Wheel in Cherry Cobbler. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the “Vintage” Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to go to the side of that. The stamped image is from the “Vintage” Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp Set. The snowman is stamped in Basic Black Ink and then colored in with Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers. I punched him out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and backed him with a piece of Crumb Cake that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzilit. Both pieces are adhered together with SNAIL and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Merry Christmas is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the one end is flagged. A flower form the Boho Blossoms Punch in Cherry Cobbler backs a Natural Designer Button with some Linen Thread tied in a bow. That is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot to the left of the flagged greeting. I really like the Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp Set, the images are perfect for some older looking Christmas Cards. Freshly Made Sketches #62

Extra Happy, part of a 4 day weekend, Friday to you! Is everyone sufficiently stuffed from their Thanksgiving festivities?! I know I am. I had dinner at my parents and then later on went to my friend Louis’ for dessert. Ugh, I think I can safely skip breakfast today! I hope that you all enjoyed your day with family and friends.

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week we have a clever sketch from Jen M…

I was in Holiday card mode yesterday but I don’t like them to scream Christmas. The less holiday color combinations the better! My card starts off with a base of Early Espresso Card Stock. I took two pieces of of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered them to each other. Some sticky Strip holds a piece of Vintage Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon across the middle. I adhered the panel to a piece of Cherry Cobbler and then adhered it to the card base. Using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies I cut out a piece of Very vanilla and pierced the edge with the Essential Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The Beautiful Wings Embosslit is used to cut out some Cherry Cobbler. I adhered it to the die cut with Sticky Strip and put some Basic Jewels Pearls along the center. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the die cut to the panel and I bent the wings of the butterfly up slightly. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Modern Label Punch to punch it out, put some more pearls on either side, and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the slightly country feel that the Designer Series Paper gives the card and butterflies are my mom’s favorite. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Mojo 267

Hello peeps! How was everyone’s Monday? Mine was ok, I had a lot to do and got it all done! I think that’s a first for me especially on a Monday! Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Juliee Tilman has given us the following…

I really like the layouts that they come up with over ay Mojo. I have been on a bit of an ebay kick lately and I found this retired wood mount stamp set from 2008 called Glad Tidings. It has some great simple greeting stamps. I used three of them from the set. The base of my card starts off with a piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I added a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the top and bottom with Merry Christmas in Early Espresso. On top of that is a piece of Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper and a piece of Lucky Limeade that I embossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The panel in the middle is a piece of Very Vanilla and is stamped with another greeting from Glad Tidings. The left side has a piece of the velvet textured Window Sheet from the same DSP. On the right is a piece of Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon that I recently acquired from the Clearance Rack. A piece of Early Espresso that I cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits is adhered to the back on the right. A Brights Collection Designer Button with a Basic Jewels Pearl in the middle is adhered to the ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot. The last greeting is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the 1″ Square Punch, I backed it with a piece of Early Espresso punched out with the  1 1/4″ Square Punch. Both panels are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the colors together with the vintage (sounds much better than retired! LOL!) stamps. Freshly Made Sketches #60

A very good morning to you all! I have some awesome news… I got my power back last night after almost 10 days without it! I cannot tell you how happy I am! It’s so nice to sit at my craft desk and not shiver! LOL! I hope that all of the other people get theirs back soon. There are still about 260,000 people without power on Long Island. It really is terrible that it is taking them so long to fix all of this especially when we are lucky enough to have all of these people from other states here helping us. A big thank you to all of those that have come from all over the country! I also want to take a moment and thank all of you for your wonderful comments. You guys are the best!

I was in an exceptionally great mood last night when I made this card so I needed something equally as happy to be the main element. I love the santa from the Jolly Old Saint Nick Stamp Set. He is retired but he reminds me of the Coca Cola santa from years ago. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder using no tabs so it was a little more subtle. The two shorter strips of card stock are Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler. I used a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper in the middle for some sparkle. The main image is the happy santa from the Jolly Old Saint Nick Stamp Set (Retired). I stamped him in Basic Black and colored him with Blush Blossom, Cherry Cobbler and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Markers. He is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Gumball Green. I double cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and also cut another one in Gumball Green to back it. Stampin’ Dimensionals also hold it to the card. I really love the classic look of the santa and the sparkle of the Silver Glimmer Paper. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Paper Craft Crew Grand Opening!

Lots of elements and room for interpretation. My card starts with a base of Always Artichoke Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Across the bottom is a piece of Riding Hood Red that I stamped with the Good Cheer Builder Wheel in Riding Hood Red. A piece of retired Riding Hood Red Satin Ribbon goes across the middle. The image is from the Winter Memories Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and colored in with Riding Hood Red, Always Artichoke,  Marina Mist, Rose Red, Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake, Pretty In Pink, Bashful Blue and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies, turning it a second time to get the squared shaped. Some piercing with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool helps dress it up and it’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Merry Minis Stamp Set and the Merry Minis Punch Pack make the little banner stamped in Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke. Some Whisper White Bakers Twine strings them together. The greeting is from the Winter Memories Stamp Set too and is stamped in Always Artichoke and underlined with the Always Artichoke Marker. I edged it with the marker to before I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The button is a Naturals Designer Button with a Whisper White Bakers Twine bow. I adhered it to the card with two stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the homey warm feel of the card, it makes all of the coloring worth it! Paper Craft Crew Sketch 13

Good Wednesday morning! Wednesday means that we are halfway to the weekend! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card. This week we have a sketch…

I went with a non-traditional Holiday card. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my background. The two flagged strips are Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede and they are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The image is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I used two of the same Framelits to cut out a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper to create a frame for the image. The frame and the label are both mounted to the card and each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of retired Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon tied in a bow finishes off the card. I love the simplicity of the sketch and the glimmer paper gives the card a nice balance. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Mojo 262

Morning all! How are we doing today? I’m fine, made it through a dreary Monday here on Long Island. It’s supposed to be dreary until Thursday, the cold weather came all of a sudden and I’m not a fan! It is supposed to warm up next week so that a good thing!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week the talented Teresa Kline has provided us with this sketch…

I do love some flags! The base of my card is Summer Starfruit Card Stock. I used a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The strip across the top is Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Retired Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flags are Gumball Green and are adhered along the bottom of the embossed strip with SNAIL. A piece of Summer Starfruit is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The image is from the Winter Wonderland Stamp Set and is heat embossed using Versa-Mark and Basic Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I colored the image in with Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Blush Blossom and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I punched the piece out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and adhered it to the doily with SNAIL. The flag on the main part is Gumball Green and is stamped with an image from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set also in Gumball Green. A Brushed Bronze Designer Button is adhered to the card with some Mini Glue Dots and I stamped the start from the Merry Mini Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit on Summer Starfruit and punched it out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. It too is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. When I color an image in I like to heat emboss it, it makes it easier to stay in the lines! PPA 144

Good morning! How are we all doing on this lovely Saturday? I’m just great! I’m off to Manhattan to see a friend and maybe wander around for a bit. It’s supposed to rain here later on and today so I’m going to enjoy as much outside as I can. Tomorrow will be my crafty day even though today is World Card Making Day! I will definitely make at least one later on, will you be making any today?!

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a color challenge with some nice fall colors…

The base of my card starts with a piece of Early Espresso Card Stock and uses a background of Crumb Cake that is embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the leaves from the French Foliage Stamp Set in More Mustard and Cajun Craze and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I used some Multipurpose Adhesive to adhere them to the card. The greeting is from the retired Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out. Using the Window Frames Collection Framelits I cut out a piece of Early Espresso to mount behind the label. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce just the rounded edges and then adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the warm cozy feeling that the colors give you and the Hand Penned Holidays elegant script keeps it in my favorites. CCMC 212 Muted Christmas

Hello peeps and happy Friday to you all! I love Friday, it’s such a great day! I have lots to get accomplished this weekend and I’m hosting card class this monday so I have to come up with some neat projects over the weekend and bring some semblance of order to my house! Like I said, lots to do!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the ladies have given us a color challenge…

Like I said the other day I’m really into the non-tradiotional holiday colors. I am determined to use all kind of unusual combinations this year. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. I adhered it to the card base with some SNAIL. The middle group starts with a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and my Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. The center stamped images are from the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red and Basic Black. I punched the frame out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and adhered it and the window to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of retired Basic Black 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon is adhered under the window with some Sticky Strip. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is also stamped in Real Red. I used the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make the ticket corners on both the Whisper White and Real Red and then mounted it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the color combination and the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing folder paired with the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set makes Holiday cards simple and elegant!
