Navy River Suede Triple Worn Thanks

Good morning peeps and happy Thursday! One more day and we’ll be at Friday! When I went to Washington, DC a few weeks ago I mentioned that friends of mine let me use their gorgeous apartment in Georgetown. You really couldn’t ask to meet two nicer people than they are. I was so glad that they liked the thank you card that I sent then. It was actually one of the few times that I had a picture for inspiration. I was asked to see if the curtains in this photo would work in the apartment…

As it so happens they will look great! I took some of the colors from the picture and used them in the thank you card. I started with a base of Soft Suede. The top part of the background is River Rock that I ran through my Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The bottom half is a piece of Well Worn Designer Series Paper (Retired List) that coincidentally has all of the colors in that I needed! I covered the seam with a piece of Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon (Retired List). The images are from the Triple Treat Flower A la Carte Wood Mount Stamp (Retired List) and they are stamped in Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso. I used the Fancy Flower Punch to punch them out and they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and mounted on a piece of Soft Suede Card Stock. I love the card and will miss the retiring products but can’t wait to see what is in store for us in the new catalog! Have a great day and thank for stopping by!

Pool Indigo Apothecary Pocket Thanks

Good morning to everyone and happy Wednesday. It is supposed to be a nice day here Long Island today and the weekend is supposed to be beautiful. Today’s project is a small thank you envelope. I am always looking for a small card that can be put inside a gift and this one works perfectly. I started with some Pool Party Card Stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die. I used the extend crease pads and a spacer to get the score line just right. Two lines of Sticky Strip and you have a cute little envelope. The image on the front of the pocket is from the Apothecary Art Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and is stamped in Island Indigo. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out and put a piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon behind it and adhered it with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the inside “card” I cut a piece of Crumb Cake to 3 3/4″ x 2″ and used the Round Tab Punch to punch out a piece of Island Indigo and folded it half and adhered it to the Crumb Cake with some more Sticky Strip. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party. I used the Word Window Punch to punch it out and put it back in to crop it to the size that I wanted. You can slide the top flap under the closure held on by a 3/16″ Metallic Brad. It’s a different way to put a card with a gift and different is always good. I hope that you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Poppy Totally Tess 3D

Good morning and a happy Sunday to everyone. I’m off to Manhattan again today for a little bit in the morning and then hopefully spending some quality time with my stamps after that! My card from last weeks Paper Players Challenge was Ann’s Pick of the Week. You can see the card on the Paper Players site HERE. Thanks to all of the talented ladies over there!

Today’s project I made for a wonderful friend of mine Sandy. She is super talented and just the nicest person you could ever want to meet. You can check out her blog at www.stampwithsandy.com. I have made a few of these cards and I love them. I used the Totally Tess Stamp Set (Retired List) because I think that Sandy looks a little like Tess! I started with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock cut to 12″ x 5 1/2″. It is scored at 1/2″, 3 1/2″, 4″, 7″, 8″ and 11″. The two windows are cut out of the larger outside pieces. The inside “wallpaper” is from the no longer available Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration 2012. I stamped Tess and all of her accessories in Basic Black Ink and cut them out with my Paper Snips. The I Love Stamps on the bag is stamped in Poppy Parade and adhered to Tess with a Mini Glue Dot. The wood stamp and the card are stamped in Crumb Cake and the heart on the stamp is colored in with Cajun Craze. Tess is colored in with Blush Blossom, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Not Quite Navy and Soft Suede Stampin Write Markers. The markers around the border of the front of the card are colored in with the 2011-2013 In-Color Markers and Not Quite Navy. Finally the greeting on the card is stamped in Poppy Parade and punched out with the Modern Label Punch. The two Poppy Parade paper dots are punched out with the Owl Builder Punch. Sandy loved the card and I hope that you like it too! Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day! 🙂

Crumb Artichoke Furry Folk 2 x 2 Set

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s supposed to be sunny and a little chilly today. I’ll be in Manhattan this morning and then off to look after my friends dogs later on. I’m going to try and squeeze in some Stampin’ too! Today’s project features three items from the retired list, all of which I will be sad to see go. The Bitty Box and Envelope Bigz XL Die, Circle Scissor Plus and especially the Furry Folk Stamp Set seeing as I just got it! The box and card bases are Crumb Cake Card Stock. The cards are cut to 2″ x 4″ and then scored in half and folded. The box is cut out with the Bitty Box and Envelope Bigz XL Die (Retired List). The images on the top of the box and the background for all the teeny cards is stamped with the Woodgrain Background Wood Mount Stamp in Crumb Cake. The images on the top of the box are from the Furry Folk Stamp Set (Retired List) and are stamped in Soft Suede and Always Artichoke. I mounted them with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a piece of Always Artichoke that I ran through my Big Shot using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The images on all of the cards, also from Furry Folk(Retired List) are stamped in Soft Suede too. Some of them are punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and mounted on Always Artichoke punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The two larger images are punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and mounted to Always Artichoke that was cut to 1 5/8″ using the Circle Scissor Plus (Retired List). The greetings are form the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and are stamped in Always Artichoke and punched out using the Word Window Punch. I put them back in the punch to size them to length that I needed. For a finishing touch on all of the pieces I stamped the butterfly image in Bravo Burgundy and punched them out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots. I love these little cards and they would be great as gift tags or to put a little note in anything. I hope that you got some inspiration and that you have a wonderful Saturday!

Marina Celery Penned Vermilion

A wonderful Saturday morning to you all. My friend Kim and I drove down to Washington DC yesterday to visit her sister Angie who is working in town. We are staying in Georgetown, a very trendy area with lots of great shops. Friends of ours were gracious enough to lend us their house. Today’s card features another retiring stamp and he is one of my favorites, the Young Vermillion A La Carte Wood Mount Stamp. I started with a base of Certainly Celery and used the Big Shot to run a piece of Marina Mist through with the Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The Vermillion is stamped in Marina Mist on Very Vanilla and the corners are punched with the Ticket Corner Punch. It’s mounted to a piece of Certainly Celery. I used the same “procedure” with the greeting from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set. They are both adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the color combination and I will miss the little bird. The card is a great quick thank you and would work well for a man or a woman, and thank you for stopping by! Have a great day! 🙂

Peach Pizzaz Butterfly Type

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! I hope that everyone had a good week and that you are doing some fun stuff this weekend. I had my Downline Meeting last night and it was lots of fun like it always is. For today’s card I used some of the retiring In-Colors, the retiring Butterfly Prints Stamp Set form the Big Catalog and the You’re My Type Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini that ends in eleven days. There are so many great sets and accessories in the Occasions Mini and it will be the last one as Stampin’ Up! has changed their catalog strategy to two large seasonal catalogs and one main catalog. The base of the card is Whisper White and is from the Note Cards and Envelopes Pack. I ran a piece of Peach Parfait through my Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for some simple texture. The butterfly is from the Butterfly Prints Stamp Set (Retiring) and is stamped in Peach Parfait and punched out with the Butterfly Punch. The typewriter image if from the You’re My Type Stamp Set and is stamped in Pear Pizzaz and mounted on a piece of Pear Pizzaz Card Stock. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them both to the card. The cute little flower is made with the Boho Blossoms Punch and the center circle is from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and it too is mounted with a Stampin’ Dimensional. This is a great little thinking of you card and with a greeting change can be so much more. Thank you for checking in today and have an awesome weekend! 🙂

Very Vintage Vogue

Good morning all! Happy Wednesday, which means we are halfway through the week! The weather here on Long Island has been beautiful but it’s a little colder today. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather sticking around! Today’s card is a thank you for everyone of you that takes time to stop by here and read my posts. I really am grateful that you do! I started with a base of Rose Red Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and ran it through my Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the top half of the background. The bottom half is created using the Very Vintage Stampin’ Around Large Wheel and Crumb Cake Ink and it is rolled onto Very Vanilla Card Stock. To cover the seam I used a piece of Crumb Cake 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon. The flowers are form the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set (Retired List) and are stamped in Rose Red. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and used some Large Pearl Jewels and a Basic Pearls Jewel for the centers and mounted them with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Apothecary Art Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and is also stamped in Rose Red. I used the Decorative Label Punch to punch out the phrase as well as the piece of Rose Red Card Stock behind it. You just punch out a label and then put it back into the punch and crop off the excess. I hope that you enjoyed your thank you card. It really does mean a lot to me that so many of you visit each day. Have a wonderful day!

Riding Hood Grey Corner Catcher

Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice Saturday. I had a great day yesterday. I saw some dear friends that I haven’t seen in a while and went down to China Town with my friend Kim. It was beautiful in Manhattan yesterday and we also got to walk through Central Park. I’m so glad that the warmer weather is on it’s way, hopefully for good this time! Now on today’s card, but before I get to that one small piece of business to take care of. Stampin’ Up! released their Retired Stamp Sets List today. It’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be! Some of my favorites are staying like French Foliage and Creative Elements. I will be sad to see Fox & Friends and Young Vermillion go but they make way for a bounty of new sets to let us unleash a new chapter of our creativity!  To see a the list of Retired Stamp Sets CLICK HERE.

Now on to today’s card. The Corner Catcher was featured in last month’s Stampin’ Success Magazine and I love them. Mary Fish had a great idea to make a card with one on the corner and here is one of my takes on her idea. I started with a base of Real Red and added a background stamped in Real Red on Crumb Cake Card Stock with the Creative Elements Stamp Set. Using some Basic Grey I Punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and used some Mini Glue Dots to adhere them to the background. The Corner Catcher is made with the new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. To make it you start with a piece of card stock that is 4″ x 4″ and you score it diagonally at 2″ on one side in opposite directions and fold. I cut out a triangle to go on the back side to hide the seam. All you have to do after that is embellish it. I used First Edition Designer Series Paper and stamped another image from Creative Elements in Riding Hood Red. Using a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the same background that I used on the card and then stamped a letter from the Broadsheet Alphabet Stamp Set in Basic Grey and punched it out with the Curly Label Punch. That is mounted to a piece of Crumb Cake that is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop circle and then adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched the edge with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and used a piece of Riding Hood Red Ribbon from the Clearance Rack to finish it off. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is also stamped in Riding Hood Red and mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you are inspired by the card and that you are looking forward to seeing all of the new products in the upcoming catalog. Thanks of stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Matchbook Post-It Holders

Good morning and happy Friday to you all. I am so glad that the weekend is so close at hand! For today’s post I somewhat cased a project from this month’s Stampin’ Success. That’s the magazine that Stampin’ Up! sends out to us Demonstrators every month. It’s packed with tips, projects and suggestions for your business. I love it and look forward to it all the time. The Workshop project this month is Post-It holder matchbooks. I love when you can make something that is so simple but looks so nice and serves a purpose. The first one that I made is the butterfly one. I used Crumb Cake Card Stock for the base. The butterfly is from the Butterfly Prints Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum on Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the Butterfly Punch to punch it out and then stamped the sentiment and the antennae on the So Saffron Card Stock. I used a Neutrals Collection Brad to secure it and then mounted it on some Perfect Plum Card Stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch along the bottom lip and placed a piece of So Saffron 3/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) around it. The flowers are punched out using the Boho Blossoms Punch and fastened with another brad. For the second one I used Real Red Card Stock for the base. The stamped image is from the Easy Events Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Ink. I used an eye shadow applicator (like a mini sponge dauber!) to shade in the tree and grass with Lucky Limeade Ink. I then colored in the heart with Real Red and the trunk with Soft Suede Markers. The backing is Lucky Limeade and that is adhered to piece of Soft Suede that I ran through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The lip of this one is punched using the Eyelet Border Punch. I punched out a piece of Lucky Limeade with the Scallop Oval Punch and placed some Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon round it. I’m loving these little matchbooks and they would make great gifts for co-workers or just about anybody! Thanks you so much for stopping by and have an awesome Friday!

Paper Players #89

Good morning and happy Hump Day to you all. I am missing the warmer weather here on Long Island and can’t wait for it to return. Today’s card is for the Paper Players Challenge # 89. They have asked us to make a funny card…

I have to admit that I was a little stumped as to what to do. I have never been a fan of funny cards, I like the pretty mushy ones the best. I thought about what card to make for a long time, and then it dawned on me, so many people joke about getting married as being the end of your life so why not send a sympathy card! The base of the card is Early Espresso, it is cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 2 1/4 and 5 1/2 with another piece cut to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 for the front making it an easel card (thanks Sandy!). The background is made using the Big Shot and the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 Embossing Plates with Very Vanilla Card Stock. The greeting is from Petite Pairs and is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch and then mounted to a piece of Calypso Coral at 1 1/2″ and then to a piece of Early Espresso cut to 1 3/4″. The cake if from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and so is the greeting on the bottom. The cake was cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some of the 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon from Sale-A-Bration to decorate the cake. The Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder provides the backdrop and that was then mounted to a piece of Early Espresso. I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the flowers and put some Basic Jewels Pearls on them. The lower greeting is punched out with the Word Window Punch and placed on a piece of Calypso Coral punched out with the Large Oval Punch and then a piece of Early Espresso punced out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and then placed on a piece of Calypso Coral and adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals to keep the easel part of the card standing up. Two more pieces of 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon, one across the top and one across the bottom complete the card. I hope that you enjoyed it and found it to be little funny, my married friends did! Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!
