SIP Challenge 37 – Wood, Cork, Felt!

Hello! It turned out to be a very nice day here yesterday after a brief shower in the morning. I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to go and see Renee and finish my cards for the March Lawn Fawn class. We chatted and then had some dinner before I headed home. When I got back to the house I let Winston out and I was standing there reading something on my iPhone when I was startled to see a raccoon the size of a small bear cub walk by me not four feet away! Thankfully I had already let Winston in! YIKES! I guess as long as neither one of us bothers the other one all is good! LOL! This morning I’m off to spend the day at Scrap-A-Latte so Renee can have a little time off. Come by and say hi if you are in the area!

Tuesday… yup it’s Tuesday! Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are also welcoming Marisa Gunn as a Guest Designer for the month of March! Thanks for joining us Marisa! This week I came up with a fun Wood, Cork, Felt Challenge…

SIP Challenge 37 Wood, Cork, Felt 800

All you have to do is use one of these on your project! I of course had to use all three! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pink Pirouette covering the front. I adhered a panel of Adhesive Cork Sheet on top of that. My tag is a wooden one that I picked up at Michaels along with the butterfly. The flowers and leaves are cut out from some pink and light green felt, also from Michaels, with the Essential by Ellen Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. I adhered them to the wooden tag with Multi-Matte Medium along with the butterfly. A length of Papertrey Ink Natural Twine is tied thought the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with E-Z- Runner. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink on a piece of Ivory 100lb and also adhered with E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets with more Multi-Matte Medium to give the card just a little more texture! I really do enjoy using some natural elements on a card, makes for a nice change from paper alone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see what our fabulous Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see one your creations in the gallery this week! Thanks so much for stopping but today! Have a phenomenal Tuesday! 🙂

Here we go again! The start of another week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday! We made it up into the 60’s! I crafted for a bit in the morning and then headed over to Brian and Kim’s to meet up with Heather. We took the kids and two cars and headed over to Roosevelt Field Mall to go dress shopping for the ladies. I think I set a new record, I had them both dressed in 30 minutes! LOL! From there we headed over to the food court, Heather, Brian and I had Japanese, Kim had a healthy wrap and the girls had Wendy’s. Heather and I also got smoothies and they were yummy! Once we were finished we went back to Brian and Kim’s, Brian and I ran out to Shop Rite quick to pick ups some things. We had some snacks and I had a hard root beer that was actually quite tasty. I crafted a bit more and then turned on the Oscars just in time to see Sam perform, and later to see his acceptance speech because he won!! The rest of it looked terrible so I turned it off. Today I’ll be running over to see Renee for a bit and working on some more projects!

The best thing about Monday’s… well, the Mojo Monday Sketch of course…

    Mojo437

I have been having fun with the new Lawn Fawn release so I used some more on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ wide. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. Across the top portion is a piece of Watermelon Wonder. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Island Indigo and then heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Six Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For my shaker circle I cut out a piece of Watermelon Wonder with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames along with a piece of Fun Foam. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles are used to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. On the back circle I heat embossed the bubbles from the Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set and then used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive Ink to give it some color. I adhered all of the pieces together with Scor-Tape, adding some Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins before adhering the back. My Oyster is from the Year Six Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. A piece of Foam Tape holds him on the shaker and the shaker is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. I love that Plaid Paper Pad and the little oyster with that greeting is so cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thanks for staring your week off with me for your daily dose of creativity! Magical Fairy Postcard

Another wonderful day in Manhattan! I drove in and there was a lot more traffic on the way in that I thought there would be. I did look for a parking space but they are doing so much construction there are very few left to be had so I parked in the garage and walked the 24 blocks to see Diane and Jim. I love visiting with them, such amazing people! Jim had a new iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil, I want one!! After my little visit I headed downtown to The Ink Pad and hung out with Barbara and Abby. We had burgers and fries from the Corner Bistro Bar for lunch and they were delicious! I got back to the garage around 4:00 and headed out over the RFK Bridge which was really backed up. I hate when that happens because the bridge shakes and you can feel it while you are sitting in the car! It almost bounces! Not a fan at all. When I got home my parents were out so I retrieved Winston and went back over for a sandwich for dinner when they got home. While I was puttering around an idea for a card popped into my head so I sat down and put it together before it disappeared! That’s today’s card!

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink to make the sky right on the card front. Across the bottom is a piece of Gumball Green that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Meadow Borders Lawn Cuts. I cut out some tulips and a butterfly and colored them in with Copics. They are adhered with Foam Tape. The postcard, postage and cancelled stamp are from the Lawn Fawn You’ve Got Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set, I colored them in with Copics and then used the new Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. My fairies are from the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set, they too are colored in with Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I adhered the fairies with E-Z Runner and the PostCard with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Orchid, Pansy Purple, Pink Blush and Marigold Sequins are scattered about and I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the fairies wings! I love the way the little scene came out and the greeting is just plain fun! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you so much for continuing to stop by and visit me! I really appreciate it! Have a magical Sunday! 🙂

    Peeps Sugar Shaker

Well, it was a little cold here yesterday but nice and sunny! Today we are supposed to get up into the high 40’s and tomorrow we should make it into the 50’s! I spent most of the day crafting. In the afternoon I had to run to Michaels and pick up some felt for a project and Taylor was working so I waited for her to get off work and her mum came up to meet her too. I stood and talked to Leigh for a while, we haven’t seen each other since the summer. After that I came back home and FaceTimed with Andrea and finished some projects. Heather stopped by and picked me up around 4:45 and we ran to BJ’s and Target. When she dropped me off I had dinner and then I watched Pink’s The Truth About Love concert on MTV2. I would like to fly around the audience like she does! LOL! This morning I’m off to Manhattan to visit my friends Jim and Diane. After that I’m going to go down to The Ink Pad to drop off my Hero Arts cards and see Barbara for a little bit before I head back home.

I got my Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card kit the other day and a card popped into my head so that’s what I have to share with you today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my MISTI to stamp the background with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Lake Shores. To make my frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched and 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut out another piece of Solar White 110lb, Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. The Acetate is adhered to the frame with Scor-Tape and then I added a layer of Foam Tape to the back of the frame. My Peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped also with the MISTI in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Mint Candy and Duckling. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. I tried a few different ways to add some “sugar” to them and wasn’t happy with any. You can see them here:

    Sugared Peeps Fail

The middle one was the best but the clear glitter was still a bit too big. Instead I added the glitter to the shaker. I adhered the Peeps to the backing piece with E-Z Runner, filling in their eyes with a Black Gel Pen, and then added the glitter to the framed piece and adhered the two together. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black and added to the acetate with Foam Tape. Finally the shaker is adhered to the card with more E-Z Runner and the card is done. I wanted it to look like a box of Peeps and I guess that all of the sugar has fallen off of them?! LOL! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you, as always, for taking some time to come by and check in! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Did we have some wicked storm here last night! Thunder, lightning and lots of wind! I went over to Heather’s and when I went to leave at 12:00 I had to make a run for the car and sit it in when I got home for a bit. Crazy! Yesterday I did do some more crafting and I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little while. When I got home I FaceTimed with Andrea and made a card, I also got my cards completed for the Hero Arts class at The Ink Pad, love the way they turned out! While I was at Heather’s last night Michael called and I got to catch up with him. I needed his opinion on a few things and he was very helpful as always. This morning I’m going to take a ride with Heather to the Doctor so she can find out what else can be done about her back. Hopefully she won’t need surgery.

For today’s card I have one for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #283

What a fun challenge! I have a Mama Elephant set that I have been wanting to use and this was just perfect for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used my Corner Chomper to round all of the corners. The frame is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. I added a piece of Acetate and a layer of Foam Tape around the frame to create my well for the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Clear Seed Beads that I filled it with. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I stamped the rays from the Mama Elephant Sunny Skies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and the panel is adhered to the frame. I then adhered the whole thing to the card with E-Z Runner Adhesive. The balloons and clouds are also from the same set. My balloon is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue, the basket in Khaki and the clouds in Smoke. I used the coordinating Creative Cuts to cut them out and then adhered them to the shaker window with Foam Tape. For a little shine I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the balloon. I love that frame with the scalloped edge and double stitching, the stamp set is fun too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! I appreciate you coming by today and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

I don’t know about you but this week is just flying by, I can’t believe that it’s Wednesday already! It was a little rainy and overcast here all day yesterday and think that we are to have more of the same today. Good days to stay in and craft which is exactly what I did yesterday. I had Daniel for a little bit in the morning while my mum went for an appointment, he is so good! After that I FaceTimed with Andrea while I worked on cards for my next class at The Ink Pad and also made my card for today! Love it when I get on a crafty roll! Taylor and Keira stopped by for a bit and after they left I crafted some m0re and finished the night off with a little TV! Today I’m thinking that it will be another crafty day, I have loads more projects to get finished!

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

    PCCCS183 DT Colors 2-24-2016

Some colors instead of a sketch this week! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, it covers the entire card front. My tag is a piece of Lost Lagoon and I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Stamp and some Lost Lagoon Ink to stamp it after I cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. The butterfly and the greeting are both cut from Blackberry Bliss using the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Butterfly and Small Hello Craft Dies. Before I adhered the butterfly I cut out a piece of Vellum with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Flourish Craft Die. That and the hello are adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium and then the tag is adhered over some leaves that are cut from Old Olive with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Craft Die. A piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine is tied through the top of the tag and some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added for a little shine! I first tried the tag without the stripes and it needed something, I love how a simple stripe can change the whole look of a card! Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!

The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo436Sketch

As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! Freshly Made Sketches 224

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you all! I had a busy day yesterday! I went to see about some potential work in the morning and then stopped by Heather’s after I ran home quick to say hello to Daniel. We had Subway for lunch and I messed around with my new iPhone. Siri wasn’t working and I was trying to avoid erasing the phone and starting over, it took about six hours the day before to put all of my stuff back on it! I was hoping that Apple might have a better solution so I made a Genius Bar appointment for 4:20 and went over to the Walt Whitman Store. They didn’t have any other suggestions so I erased the iPhone and set it up as a new one and that fixed the issue. The rest of the evening was spent adding things back that I use all the time and getting it set up again. Fun! LOL! This morning I’m taking a ride with Brian to go and take one of our friend’s daughters to her swim meet. The rest of the day will hopefully be spent crafting!

Today I have a super simple card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

    Freshly Made Sketches 224

The card base for this card is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of paper from Blue Fern Studios called Sanctuary to 4″ x 5″ and heat embossed a greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A strip of Early Espresso is cut and the ends angled to be placed under the panel that is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All that was left to do is add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sand, Espresso and Aquamarine Sequins to the panel and the card is finished! See, I told you… super simple! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for taking some time to stop by today! Have a super simple Saturday! 🙂

Happy Friday! I had another really good week and hope that the same is true for you! Yesterday I ran around taking care of some errands one of which was stopping at the AT&T Store to see what deals they had going on. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a buy one iPhone get one free when you start a new line promotion! I got an iPhone 6S Plus and an iPhone 6S for my mum. After all of the setup and switching was done Taylor was quite happy to get my old phone too! From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to get ready for Card Class. This morning I have a few things to get done and then I need to find a case for my phone, it freaks me out to have it all naked!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    Fab Fri 81 2-19-2016

I had watched a video that Jennifer McGuire posted for Simon Says Stamp the other day where she added an acetate panel to her card so I thought I would give it a try! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed out 2 inches from the front and replaced it with a piece of Acetate. It’s adhered to the card front with Scor-Tape and then a piece of Soft Sky is adhered over the top of that. I then stamped the card front with the birch tress from the Mama Elephant Winter Wonderland Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink. On the inside of the card I stamped the wreath from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black along with more images from the set on a piece of Solar White 80lb. They are all colored in with my Copics and the owl, banner, ribbon, heart and flower are cut out with the Coordinating Charmed Creative Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I really like that acetate panel in card front with the wreath underneath, makes for a nice change from a standard card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! I do love a day in Manhattan! It was overcast but not too cold. The trains were somewhat on-time, which rarely happens as of late! I spent the morning with Anna and Barbara at The Ink Pad. While I was there Effie from The Ton Stamps stopped in. She is such a nice person! We chatted about crafty stuff and I told her how much I enjoy her little brush lettering videos on Instagram. Around 1:00pm I made my way up to see Isabella. She is another really nice and funny person. I’m pretty lucky with all of the people that I have in my life! We got caught up and she had an appointment so I headed back to Penn around 4:00 and caught the 4:31 home, had some dinner and then chatted with Andrea for a bit before sitting down to make today’s card. This morning I must do some laundry, I’m almost out of clothes! LOL!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #282

Ahh, I love it when the spring colors start making a comeback! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango right on the card front. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and I heat embossed the greeting from the same set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Another flower and set of leaves from the set is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Pearls to the middle of all of the flowers to finish off the card. I love the subtleness of the flowers with nice pop of the black tag! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂
