Merry & Bright Snowflake Spinner Card

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! It’s going to be in the high 60’s here today, I like that temperature for Christmas Eve! Yesterday it rained all day, again, still better than snow! I went to the mall with Brian in the morning, yes, he had to go to the one that they had the shooting at on Tuesday! It wasn’t too crowded and he got all of the stuff that he needed to get. After that we came back to my house so I could get the plates off of my old car and finally turn them in. Christmas week is a good time to go to Motor Vehicles, I was in and out in 15 minutes! After that I hung around the house and FaceTimed with Andrea for a while and worked on some crafty stuff. Today is Michael’s birthday! A very Happy Birthday to you Mr. Trent!! I hope that you have a wonderful day! I have a bunch of last minute projects to get done today so I will be a busy little boy! Are you all done?!

Today I have a relatively easy and fun spinner card for you! I started by cutting a circle out of a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb and one out of Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Nesting Circles Craft Dies. Next I used the Simon Says Stamp Nadine Snowflake to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Aqua Smooth Glitter Paper. I applied some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to the backs of all of the pieces and then sandwiched a piece of DMC Silver Thread between the white snowflakes before adhering the glitter one. A layer of SNAIL is applied to the back of the front panel and the thread is placed on it before adhering it to the base. I ran the card through my Big Shot in a piece of folded computer paper to make sure that it was adhered together really well. Another piece of the Aqua Smooth Glitter Paper along with some Solar White 110lb is then cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Craft Dies. Some more spray adhesive adheres them to each other and the card. Not too complicated but it’s a really fun effect when you open the card and the snowflake spins around changing from aqua to white! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that you are finished with your Holiday preparations! Thanks for stopping by and have a productive Thursday! 🙂

And there are a little less than two more days left until Christmas! Am I ready… nope! I got a few more things accomplished yesterday before I headed into Manhattan for a bit to see Isabella. It was a very rainy and damp day here yesterday and looks to be the same today, but it’s still nice and warm! Heather picked me up from the Hicksville Station with some Wendy’s and we ran over to Target to pick up some odds and ends. I stopped back home for a few minutes before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Tuesday! We had to do it early this week because Thursday is Christmas Eve! A good time was had by all as usual! I finished my card that I was working on when I got home and then was too tired so off to bed. Apparently I was really tired because I woke up late today!

The card for today is a simple shaker! I started off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On a piece of Solar White 80lb I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Green Leaf, Khaki and Fog Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb. To create the shaker I cut out the Hero Arts Large Mason Jar from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and heat embossed the sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To the back I adhered a piece of Acetate and then a layer of Foam Tape. Some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter is added on top of the image and then I lined it up and adhered the two piece together. A strip of Recollections Sliver Smooth Glitter Paper is adhered to the base and then the shaker panel is adhered next to that. A pretty quick and simple shaker to make but still a fun card to give! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks very much for visiting and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

NYC Coffee Ornament

Yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! There was a steady flow of customers all day and one of them just happened to be Julianne Moore! Talk about nice! Such a sweet lady and just as amazing in person as she is in the movies! Anna and I had some Hummus & Pita Co. for lunch and it was quite tasty, for dessert some Starbucks! Still loving that Holiday Spice Flat White! I also got myself a Starbucks Christmas ornament, the black and gold one! See isn’t it nice…

Starbucks Balck & Gold Holiday 2015

I love the NYC on it! I also managed to stay awake on the train on the way home and got off at my correct stop! Upon arriving home I had a little crafty time and then watched some TV. I’m back in the city again tomorrow to see my friend Isabella for a bit!

My crafty project for last night was another ornament, I know, I’m a little obsessed, but they are so much fun to make! The backing for this one is Ivory 110lb Card Stock that I cut out with the Papertrey Ink Basic Backer Die. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Nested Circles Craft Dies. The skyline is cut form Black 110lb Card Stock with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die and then again with the Nested Circle for a perfect fit. The greeting and coffee cups are form the Lawn Fawn Love You A Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped heat embossed the greeting with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum also cut out with the Nested Circles and the coffee cups are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added some Uni-Ball Gold Gel Pen and Sakura Black Glaze Pen to the black cup and a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the red one. I adhered the greeting to the rest of the layers with Multi-Matte Medium and the cups are adhered with Foam Tape. A sprinkling of some Gold Chunky Glitter before I used more Multi-Matte Medium to adhere the ornament half and it’s finished! Here’s a little peek at what it looks like before it’s all put together!

NYC Coffee Parts-WM

It’s so much fun to put together all of the things for the ornaments and they really do look so cool hanging on the tree! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament for today! Thank you so very much for your visit today! Have an awesome Tuesday everyone! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 217

Happy Friday! Made it through another week! It rained here all day yesterday, but I will take that and 60 degrees over snow any day! I got a late start to my morning, woke up with a headache, never fun. I finally got my act together and went over to my friend Sue’s house to work on some more Etsy stuff. We took a break and had lunch at Panera, I had the Tomato Soup (my favorite) and a grilled cheese, perfect lunch for a rainy day! We stopped at the Post Office and then finished up and I headed home for some dinner with my Parents and Daniel. Daniel and I played with his colored pencils and he told me what color they were and then counted them as he put them back into the container. He’s pretty smart for a two year old! After dinner I came home and worked on some craftiness and then watched a little TV. Pretty good Friday!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I want to thank Amy for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now, here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 217

I of course saw a shaker card! Shocker! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create the shaker I cut out a piece of Mossy Meadow with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles for the outside and the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles for the inside window. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back and then a single layer of Foam Tape goes around to seal in the Chunky Glitter that I actually picked up from the Target Dollar Spot. A piece of Cherry Cobbler is then adhered to the back and seals in all of the sparkly goodness! At the top of the card is the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Token Craft Die that I cut out from three pieces of Solar White 80lb. I adhered them to each other and the card with Elmer’s Multi-purpose Spray Adhesive. For my greeting I stamped the & A Happy New Year from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered that to the card with more Foam Tape. I love the dimension that you get when you adhere the die cuts together and all of the sparkly glitter in the shaker is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I thank you for taking some time to stop by and see what I’m up to today and hope that you have an incredible Friday! 🙂

Well, that was avery long but fun day in Manhattan! I took the 7:01 train out of Bethpage and got into Penn Station around 8:00, late as usual. I headed over to Isabella’s and spent the morning with her, always a good time. Her brother is staying with her so I got to meet him, very nice guy. Around 1:00 I headed down to meet Kim for lunch. We went to this little place by her office and I had a delicious sandwich with grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce and olive oil. From there I went over to visit with my friend Barbara, the guy at the front desk in her building called up and said that she wasn’t there so I sat in the lobby. Around 4:25 I got a message from her asking if I got stuck somewhere and I said that I had been in the lobby since 3:50. She came down and got me and had a word with the guy at the front desk! We had a nice visit and are going to have lunch in January. After I left there I headed down to The Ink Pad to get ready for my Tags class. One of Michael’s friends from Brasil is in Manhattan and she came to the class. We had a nice time as always. Here is a picture of the happy class working on their tags…

TIP December Tags Class

And here is a picture of Carol and I…

TIP Carol and I

After class Carol waited with me because she was going the same way as I was so we took the Subway together and I made sure that she headed in the right direction back to her hotel. I made the train at Penn by 1 minute only the get home late because the were delays due to an unauthorized vehicle on the track in New Hyde Park. I finally got home around 11:00, had a cup of coffee and went to bed!

Thankfully I had made my card for today’s post on Monday night and it’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #275

Traditional Christmas colors! My card starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the front with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. Down the right side is a thin strip of Cherry Cobbler. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Ice Gold Curious Metallic that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Craft Dies. My greeting and trees are from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered the slope to the card with Foam Tape. The trees are heat embossed with more Silver Pearl on Mossy Meadow and cut out with my Paper Snips. The tree trunks are Soft Suede and they and the middle tree are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The other two tress are adhered with Foam Tape and that’s my card done! I love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, so subtle yet neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I’ll have the tags that we made in class for you tomorrow! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 174

Yup, another nice day here again, in the 60’s! This is the best December ever! LOL! I was at Scrap-A-Latte for the day working on crafty things and cutting out some Lawn Fawn Santa Pillow Boxes for Renee. My friend Paul stopped by to visit for a bit, I FaceTimed with Andrea and got speak to Michael for a while! Angie got there around 5:00 to prep for her tags class and we chatted for a bit. Cara came by to refill her selection of chocolates that are for sale for the holidays. I had one of the chocolate covered mini Oreo packs and it was delicious! When I got home I had some dinner at the ‘rents and then came home and finished prepping for my tags class tonight at The Ink Pad. I’m off to Manhattan bright and early this morning to go and see my friend Isabella, have some lunch with Kim and then chill at her apartment until it’s time to head downtown for class. A busy but fun day ahead!

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS174 DT Sketch 12-16-2015

I love the Winter Alpaca Mini Set and Die from Lawn Fawn so I decided that he would be perfect for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set and some Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink to stamp the snow. A strip of the Lawn Fawn Let’s Bokeh in the Snow 6×6 Paper goes down the right side and is also used for my panel. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Winter Alpaca Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and then adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The Alpaca is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with My Copics. I cut him out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts Die and then adhered him with Foam Tape to a piece of Solar White 110lb that I stamped with the snowflakes from the same set again in Fog Ink. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the ends are flagged. Some Foam Tape adheres it and the snowflake that is cut out using the Lawn Fawn Small Snowflakes Lawn Cuts. A little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on his scarf and the card is done! Like I said, I love that little Alpaca and the greeting is really cute too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! SIP Challenge 27 – Thanks!

Well it was warm here again yesterday but really foggy in the morning and then rained for most of the rest of the day. I was sure that Brian & Kim’s plane would be delayed but they actually landed 1/2 hour early! After I dropped them off I came home and FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit while I worked on some crafty projects. Later on in the afternoon I got a message from Heather that her Grandfather had passed away and she was there with him. It’s never easy to loose a family member but he lived a nice long 93 years and she has all of the great memories that she shared with him to remember him. Anthony and Bill came by to pick me up around 5:15 and we ran over to Walt Whitman Mall so that Anthony could get his mum’s Christmas Present. We also stopped at Lush and Bill and I got Holiday Spice Flat Whites from Starbuck, my new favorite drink! When I got back home I went over to Heather’s and Stephanie and Brian stopped by too. Nothing like spending a little time with your friends to make the sadness a little easier. This morning I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte for the day to watch the store for Renee. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday!

Since it’s Tuesday it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time the challenge will run for two weeks ending on December 27th. We thought that some Thank You cards would be needed so that’s what the theme is…

SIP Challenge 27 - Thanks 800

I saw a card that Kristina Werner made the other day as part of her Holiday Card Series for 2015 and I had to give it a try! I took a piece of Vellum and heat embossed the Thank You from the Concord & 9th Painted Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The pocket is created with my Fuse Tool and a We R Memory Keepers 12×12 Page Protector. Before sealing the top I added some Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Sequin Mix to the pocket. On the back is a piece of Elegant Eggplant and Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to each other and then to the pocket. I added the white so that you would have a place to write a message. I love this card! It’s like the ultimate shaker card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to play along with us by entering your card in the gallery! Thank you for spending some time with me today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 428

I had a little bit of quiet day yesterday. I got some crafty stuff done in the morning and then my friend Maureen came over and helped me take some pictures of things for Etsy. After that we grabbed some pizza and then ran into A.C. Moore so I could get some more of the plastic ornaments and make a few more of them like the one from yesterday. From there we headed over to HomeGoods, with the top down again because it was in the high 60’s! I picked up a board to tape my pieces down to when I watercolor them and Maureen got some stuff too. The rest of the evening was spent puttering around the house and then I watched a little TV before bed. This morning I’m off to retrieve Brian, Kim and the kiddies from the airport! I can’t wait to hear all about their Disney trip!

Starting another week with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge, it’s the last one of 2015…

Mojo428

I used some purples and blues on my card for a nice bright winter card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I “embossed” with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley and Nadine Snowflake Craft Dies and a beige Embossing Pad. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Purple Glitter Paper. My tag is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings Holiday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then used some Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink mixed with water to color the tag. The bottom of the tag is trimmed off in a v and some 3/8″ White Grosgrain Ribbon is tied in the top. The tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is also from the Circle Sayings Holiday Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama, the snowflake is stamped in High Dive and I cut it out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. To finish the card I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Aqua Sequins. I love the colors together and the cool effect on the tag! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the last Mojo Monday Sketch of 2015! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thanks so much for stating your week off with me! Have a wonderful Monday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Gratitude

OSAT Header

Hello! I hope that you are all enjoying your week! I had a productive day with Sue and listing things on Etsy. I finally set up my store too and you can visit it HERE. I have just a few cards up on it for now but will be adding more in the future! After that I came home and spent a little time with Taylor before getting ready to go out with Sandy for dinner at Friday’s. We had a lovely time and it was great to catch up with her. She brought over her new MacBook for a few lessons and she will be an expert in no time! It’s so nice and thin, she got the space gray one, really beautiful! She left around 10:30 and I watched a little TV before calling it a night.

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Gratitude! If you have arrived here from Marisa welcome! She had some great projects, didn’t she?! I have a card and a fun gift card holder for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is the card. I used some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. My background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wood Embossing Folder. A partial circle is cut out from the lower right with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and Fun Foam and SNAIL adhere it to the card. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink using the Hero Arts Holiday Pine Branches Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I adhered them in the circle with SNAIL. For the 25 I used some Gold Glimmer Paper and the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. I also cut out a piece of Fun Foam and adhered it to the back with Multi-Matte Medium before adhering them to card with the same. The thanks is cut from Solar White 80lb and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Kraft with the pops of Green and Gold, makes for an elegant yet understated thank you card!

OSAT December Blog Hop - Card-WM

Next up is the coordinating Gift Card Holder. I used the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Die to cut out a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The front is stamped with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. Some Scor-Tape is used to adhere the box together. The stamped images and numbers are the exact same as the ones that I used on the card. I adhered the leaves with SNAIL and the numbers are adhered with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I love the pillow box from Lawn Fawn, it’s sized to perfectly hold a gift card!

SIP Challenge 26 – A Sketch from Maggie!

It was another really nice day here yesterday! I’m liking their forecast that we are to have a warm December! Hopefully that will carry into January, February and March as well! I had a very productive day yesterday! I was at my friend Sue’s most of the day working on some listings for Etsy. I spoke to Michael for a bit and then headed back home to have some dinner with the ‘rents! After dinner I came home and puttered around the house for a bit and then watched a movie. Today I’m going to be productive again and get some little errands done that I have been putting off and spend some quality time in the Stampin’ Galley too!

Today is Tuesday and it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a sketch from Maggie…

SIP Sketch Challenge 26 800

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the card is a shaker… shocker! LOL! I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die to cut out a piece of Solar White 110lb and the center from a piece of Smoky Slate. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back of the Smoky Slate with Scor-Tape and the snowflake panel is adhered to the acetate in the cut out with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Two layers of Foam Tape around the back make a nice well for my shaker material. I added some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins and Silver Seed Beads before adhering a piece of Night of Navy to the back. Three banners, also cut form Night of Navy, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and then the shaker is adhered with more Scor-Tape. My greeting is from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Vellum. I flagged the left side of the Vellum and adhered it to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. As simple as a shaker can get! I’m still loving that Snowflake Block Die and the great blue, white and grey color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge from Maggie! Make sure an stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s (including Michael this week!) cards and show Maggie some love by entering your project in the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have a thrilling Tuesday! 🙂
