Happy Christmas Winter Scene

Another fun day in Manhattan with Barbara and Anna at The Ink Pad! It was a pretty busy day too! I made a little sample using Tim Holtz Christmas Minis Stamps and some Distress Inks with a watercolor brush. I got a nice close parking space to the store, after driving around for about 20 minutes! After we closed I gave Barbara a ride up to her brother’s and then took the Triboro Bridge to get out of the city. The traffic wasn’t too bad and I was home by 8:30. I had a quick sandwich and made my card for today. After that I was exhausted and went to bed! Today I’m off to see The Hunger Games – Mocking Jay Part 2 with Andrew and Brian! Oh, my parents got a little Christmas tree that lights up and turns with a train that goes around the bottom the other day and Daniel loved it! Can’t you tell from the huge smile on his face?!

Daniel & Tree

My card for today uses a new set that I picked up from Hero Arts. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb for the front and then used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out a window. A piece of Soft Sky serves as my background and I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and some Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste on it to create the snow. Next up I took the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies and cut another piece of Solar White 80lb using just the die without the stitching and layered them on top of one another and adhered them over the background. All of my images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the trees in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf, the deer in Hero Arts Wet Cement and the house in Hero Arts Cup O Joe. They are all cut out with the matching Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with either SNAIL of Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue with the Hero Arts Happy, Happy Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and the the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love the little scene in the cut out and the soft colors. The greeting is also neat because in England it’s Happy not Merry Christmas! I hope that you enjoyed my fun winter scene card for today! Thank you so much for visiting and I wish you all a superb Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 213

Yes, I’m very late this morning, I woke up with a doozy of a headache, hate when that happens! It’s finally started to subside. Yesterday I was at Scrap-A-Latte for most of the day. The morning and night classes were fun as always and everyone really enjoyed the projects. I’ll have them tomorrow morning for you to take a look! I stopped at Target on the way home to pick up the all important 1/2 & 1/2! Today I’m going to try and get some things accomplished before heading back over to Scrap-A-Latte for tonight’s class. I have a lot of things that I’m working on and I need to got a move on! Tomorrow I’ll be at The Ink Pad, always love my time there! What are you up to this weekend?!

Last night after I got home I sat down and made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 213

I went with a very clean and simple shaker card! Yes, I do love a shaker, don’t I?! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. Across the lower part of the card is a piece of Recollections Shimmer Card Stock. My frame is cut from some My Colors Pale Aqua using the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Die. I adhered a piece of Real Red Across the bottom that I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders Dies on to give it that “ribbon” look. The rest of the greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set that I got for free with an order that I place in September and it’s stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the frame using Score Tape and built up the sides with Foam Tape to hold some Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins along with some Red Seed beads. All that was left to do is peel of the Foam Tape backing and adhere it to the card! I really like the aqua with the red on the black and yes, I am totally addicted to shaker cards! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks so much for visiting today and I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Theme 171

So how is your week going so far? Mine isn’t too bad, I actually got a lot accomplished around the house yesterday! Brian came over in the morning and helped me rearrange the furniture in my bedroom and it seems much bigger now! I dusted and vacuumed the whole house and then went on a purge spree! Love when I get in that mood! I like to keep boxes that things come in, not the best idea when you have a very small apartment! I threw out a ton of boxes and other crap that I no longer need! Feels so good! I had dinner with my parents, brother and Daniel. He was a bit cranky yesterday because he skipped his nap! I get like that too! LOL! Later on I ran up to Michael’s to get a few supplies and then came home and crafted for a bit before watching Limitless! Love that show!

Well, it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge and it’s a theme…

PCCCS171 DT Theme 11-18-2015

Thank you cards, you can never have enough of those! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I covered the entire front in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card that I stamped some leaves, well, a lot of leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Apple of My Pie Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and then heat embossed them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. They are colored in with my Paintbrush, some water and Yellow Ochre, Vermillion, Crimson Red and Deep Green Royal Langnickel Watercolors. Here is what the panel looks like by itself…

PCCCT171 Background-WM

After they dried I adhered the panel to the card with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. The greeting is also form the Apple of My Pie Stanp Set and is heat embossed with more Gold on Vellum. I cut the frame out with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cut from another piece of Kraft, heat embossed a additional greeting on the bottom of the frame and adhered the greeting to it. I decided at the last minute that I could make this a shaker card so I adhered 3M Foam Tape along the edges and filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Confetti. I do love that greeting and the way that you can still make out the leaves behind it and see the confetti! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Theme challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have done and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 23 – A Sketch!

Another lovely day here on Long Island! I was at Scrap-A-Latte all day, I worked on some cards, practiced calligraphy with a nib and ink (my fingers are a little black!) and had a visit from Brian! I also got to speak to Michael for a while, so good to actually talk to him! When I came home Daniel was still at my parent’s and he filled me on the events of the day while I ate dinner. He’s so animated when he tells his stories! From there it was home to get crafty for a bit before getting ready for bed.

Moving right along with the week it’s Tuesday and that means another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Sketch Challenge 23 800

I do love a tag on a sketch! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background strip is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Altitude Collection 6×6 Paper Pad. A strip of Silver Glimmer Paper goes across the lower half of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 110lb and Blackberry Bliss. I ran the White tag though the Big Shot again with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake Die to get the negative of the die cut. The white tag is then adhered to the Blackberry Bliss one. I stamped my greeting and snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate ink. A piece of cord from the Lawn Trimmings Vivid Lawn Trimmings set is tied though the top and the tag is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the tag and complete the card! I do love a negative die cut and the non-traditional colors in the paper! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and take a look at the rest of the Design Team’s cards! We hope that you will make one to add to the gallery to share with us! Thanks for stopping by today! I wish you all a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 424

And it’s Monday! My day was pretty quiet yesterday. I crafted for a bit and stopped by at Scrap-A-Latte to chat with Renee and Angie. I had the top down on the way there, it was 60 degrees and with the heat on it was quite comfortable! LOL! I finally did my laundry yesterday, two weeks is too long! This morning I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to watch the store for Renee while she takes a much needed day off. Stop by and say hello if you are in the area!

Monday’s mean a new sketch from Mojo Monday and here is this week’s…

Mojo424

I wanted to play with the new Hero Arts Monthly Kit for November that my friend Kathy Racoosin designed so that’s what I used on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Simon Says Stamp Wood Paper for my background and adhered a piece of Adhesive Cork Sheet across the middle. Two pieces of Real Red are flagged and adhered in the upper right corner. My greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black using the Hero Arts A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount Stamp. It’s part of Jennifer McGuire’s Share Handmade Kindness Campaign! I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder and backed it with a piece of Black 110lb before adhering it to the card. My cute ornament is from the Hero Arts Monthly Kit for November, I stamped the ball and all of the images in Memento Tuxedo Black. The images are colored in with Copics and either die cut with the dies included in the kit or cut out with Paper Snips. For the top of the ornament I heat embossed it on Black 110lb with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. That too is cut out with Paper Snips and adhered to the ball with SNAIL. I adhered the ornament to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love that little scene inside the ornament, especially the gnome! There are some great images in the Hero Arts Monthly Kit for November along with an additional set of coordinating dies that I’m waiting for. I think they are still available too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have an awesome Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 212

Hi there and welcome to Saturday and the start of the weekend! I had a nice day yesterday! Got my haircut and then came home and did a little organizing and crafting. I had to run to Michaels and Target and then I went over to my parent’s to see little Daniel. I got him some new colored pencils because his other ones kept breaking and I was a little tired of sharpening them! After dinner I met up with Heather and took a ride with her out to see Patti and Tom and the kids. We had a nice visit and then I spent a little time at her house while she packed. I’m off to the city again this morning to see some friends and then stop by The Ink Pad to help Anna with a few things. Should be another great day!

Oh, Michael has been a busy boy this week! He has five blog posts for you to read! Click HERE To go to his blog and take a look at his projects and some goodies that I sent to him! 🙂

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 212

I loosely interpreted the sketch so I could use a new stamp and die set that I recently acquired! The card base is Neenah Solar White 100b Card Stock. My background is created with a piece of Solar White 80lb and some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink and the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. I stamped the greeting from the Hero Arts Acts of Kindness Photopolymer Stamp Set. It’s part of Jennifer McGuire’s Share Handmade Kindness Campaign and 25% of the profits got to the Kindness Campaign to help end bullying. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red, Lake Shores, Scuba and High Dive and Hero Arts Cup ‘O Joe and Butter Bar and used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. The branch and the feet are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and the bird, wing and flower are adhered with Foam Tape. I love that bird and the way he looks on the background! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for stopping by and have a super Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 77

And the end to another week is upon us. Mine was a good one and I hope that yours was too! I stopped by Heather’s for breakfast yesterday morning with Brian before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte. I watched the store for Renee while her and Angie did some “shopping”. I worked on some of my projects for this month’s card class and also updated the computer. From there I headed back home and went next door to my parent’s and played with Daniel for a while. He really is a smart little boy! I know I’m biased but you can have a conversation with him and he just loves to talk! He knows his colors already too! Little Genius! After we had dinner I came home and made a card and then headed back over to Heather’s for a bit. She’s going to Florida with her boyfriend on Saturday and won’t be back until Wednesday. I needed to get in my time before she goes! LOL! This morning I’m off to get a haircut and then I have some errands to run. What are you all up to today?

Not only is it Friday but it’s also a Fab Friday! This week we have some nice Fall colors for you…

Fab Fri 77 11-13-2015

I used that giving thanks die again, I love that die! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder for my background. Next we have a piece of Blackberry Bliss that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. On top of that is another piece of Ivory 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks Card Die. The image is from the Hero Arts Fall Trees Stamp Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the tree in Soft Suede and the leaves in Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. The card is then adhered with some more Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze Sequins complete the card. A simple and colorful Fall thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for our Fab Friday color challenge! Hop on over to the blog and take a peek at what the rest of the Designer’s have made! Thank you very much for your visit today! I love having you stop by and share a little bit of my! Paper Players 270

Thursday, another week flying by! It was overcast most of the day yesterday with the occasional peek of sun. I managed to get some projects finished and straightened up a bit more. I spoke to Andrea on FaceTime and also saw Taylor for a bit. Last night after dinner I was speaking on Facebook Messenger to a friend of mine, Gita. I haven’t seen her in a long time but she messaged me the other day to tell me that she was enjoying my pins on Pinterest and we chatted for a bit about crafty things. Today she messaged me to tell me that she had made a card for her parent to celebrate Diwali, the Indian celebration of lights. I asked her to send me pictures of any of her projects and I want to share her card with you today. I think it’s beautiful and it really evokes the feeling of the holiday!

I love the pattern that she choose, it reminds me of a Henna Tattoo and the gems sparkle just like the lights in Diwali. Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us Gita!

Now on to my card for today which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it though I wanted to say a big thank you to Claire for choosing my card from last week as her Headliner! You can see the winners post here and my original post here! now on to this week…

Paper Players #270

I actually had two cards for this challenge but I can’t show the other one yet, it’s for my friend Isabella, it’s her Birthday today and I’m not sure if she received it yet! Happy Birthday Isabella! Isabella also shares a Birthday with my friend Christina, a very Happy Birthday to her too! My card for the challenge starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames dies to cut out a piece of Real Red and two pieces of Black 110lb. The red is adhered in the center with SNAIL and the frames are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My ornament is cut from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Ornament Die and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I made several attempts to cut out the ornament and foil it as well as heat emboss it and I wasn’t happy with the results so I went back to the old standby instead and I’m happy with the way it turned out! I hope that you are too and that you enjoyed my simple Christmas card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for sharing in my friends work and visiting today! I wish you all a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 22 – Free for Fall!

I had another fun filled day at The Ink Pad yesterday with Anna and Jane. I made some samples and helped out with a custom stamp. I really do enjoy spending time there, such great store and such nice people! When I got home I had a ham sandwich for dinner and then puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit. Its supposed to rain today so I’m going to go over and see Renee for a bit. The products for this month’s card class have come in so I need to start making samples and getting ready for that! I also have some errands to run and lots of organizing to do. Should be another busy day!

The winners were announced for last week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge yesterday. What an amazing collection of cards we had in the gallery last week! I want to personally thank all that participated, your cards were awesome! With that said it’s time for this week’s challenge…

SIP Challenge 22 Theme Fall 800

This week we ask you to make a fall themed project! It can be a card, a tag, gift box, place card… anything that you want! I decided on a pack of cards. The bases are Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folders, there are two in the pack, one that is woodgrain and another has trees. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Card Die. My leaves are cut from some My Colors Bronze and The Paper Cut White Gold Curious Metallic using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves. I adhered them to the Vellum with Foam Tape and then used Score Tape hidden behind the leaves to adhere the Vellum to the card. For a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze and Ellen Hutson Iridescent Ivory Sequins. I think that four cards and envelopes given to someone that you are going to see for Thanksgiving would make a nice little gift, don’t you? I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Pay a visit to the blog and check out what the rest of my Team has come up with to inspire you! We can’t wait to see your projects in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 423

Another busy but great day yesterday! I headed into Manhattan around 7:45 and found a parking space on 89th between 2nd and 3rd. I walked over to 89th and West End Avenue through the park and didn’t get lost! I think it’s the first time that I have made it through Central Park without getting lost! LOL! I have a mental block with getting through the park for some reason! I stopped for some Starbucks before meeting up with Jon and Mary for a bit to catch up. After, I walked back over to the car and headed back out to Great River for Daniel’s Birthday party. It was at George Martin’s Strip Steak Restaurant. The food was delicious and it was nice to see everyone. After the party I stopped by my brother’s new house, it’s nice and really big! From there it was back home and time to veg for a little bit. Tomorrow morning I’m back into the city to help Anna with some stuff at The Ink Pad. Here is a nice picture of the reservoir in Central Park…

CP Reservoir 11-2015

The trees are just starting to change color, so pretty!

Hmm… it’s Monday, the start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo423

As soon as I saw the square with the circle I immediately thought shaker! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background and the panel I used two pieces of paper from an old My Minds Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas. My banner is a piece of Real Red. For the shaker I cut out two pieces of Ivory 110lb and a piece of Acetate with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. One of the Ivory pieces then has a circle cut out of the center with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the Acetate to the back of the one with the circle cut out, added two layers of Foam Tape to the back, filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Mix Sequins and Gold Seed Beads and then adhered the other rectangle to the back. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive then holds it to the card. The poinsettia and leaves are from the Hero Arts October Monthly Kit and are stamped with the inks that came in the kit except the center of the poinsettia which is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks and Duckling Ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered the poinsettia and the leaves to the shaker portion with Foam Tape and SNAIL. Finally, my greeting is stamped in Real Red from the Simon Says Stamp Ornaments Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower left corner. I’m still loving the poinsettia from the Hero Kit, so glad that I got it while it was still available! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and take a peek at the rest of the Designer’s cards and enter one of yours into the gallery! Thanks, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a merry, happy Monday! 🙂
