Paper Craft Crew 191

No matter how long the day is as long as it’s in Manhattan it’s a good day! The Ink Pad was great as always! Anna and I had a nice productive day, we got lots of stuff entered and put away. I stayed late because there was a class, Handlettering taught a very talented young lady named Caitlyn. She has an Etsy shop if you want to take a look at some of her work you can find it HERE. Kim came by the store and we had Noodles for dinner, she is off to Missouri this morning, I’ll really miss her this week seeing as I’m going to be in the city a lot! By the time I got home it was 10:45. Taylor was there with Kiera keeping Winston company. I sat down and made a card and relaxed a for bit. Ready to do it all over again tomorrow! 🙂

So it’s Wednesday right?! LOL! That means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

I have really been enjoying the look of White Pigment Ink on Kraft Card Stock especially with another ink color stamped over it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Mossy Meadow onto the base for my background. The circle is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. My greeting is stamped onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Grape Juice Ink using the A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount Stamp. My flower and leaves are stamped in Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink and they are from the Hero Arts For you Flowers Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the second layer of the leaves in Forever Green Ink and the second layer of the flower in Grape Juice. The flower is cut out with my Scissors and both the flower and greeting are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give the card a little shine. That Hero Arts For you Flowers is definitely becoming one of my favorite Color Layering Sets! SIP Challenge 44 – Inspiration!

Yes, we had one absolutely lovely day here yesterday! It was in the high 70’s and indeed I was out in the car with the top down and the music turned up nice and loud! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea and got a few things accomplished. I left the house around 12:00 and I had a quick lunch with Bill. From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish the cards for this week’s class. It was nice because Renee’s son Nick was there so I got to catch up with him! When I got back home I had some dinner with my parents and then spoke with Anna from The Ink Pad. Her dad passed away and my heart goes out to her and her family. She has to go to Taiwan for the services so I’m going to help out at the store for the next week. It’s going to be a very very busy week! Let’s see if I can get everything done! 🙂

Tuesday and we have another fun challenge for you over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

That is actually the Fire Island Light House not too far from me here on Long Island! I went with a nautical feel for my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Real Red. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut it out. For my shaker I also used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Acetate. The top panel has a circle cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I stamped the greeting in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink from the Simon Says Stamp Naughty Nautical Photopolymer Stamp Set. My back panel has some Tide Pool Ink applied with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Die and the Stitched Circles. I stamped the sailboat from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set using the Ombre Ink again and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. Some Foam Tape is applied to the back of the front panel in a double layer and I added Seed Beads and Sequins before adhered the backing. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I probably could have put a little less shaker bits inside but the seed beads make a fun noise and keep the sequins from getting stuck! I also think that greeting is really neat! Mojo Monday 444

Do you ever have one of those days? The kind where you have so much to get done and you just can’t pick a starting point so not much gets done! I hate when that happens! That was my Sunday! The weather was so nice I think that it may have played a part in my distraction! I kept wanting to be outside! I did get a few things done but no where near as many as I wanted! Oh well, we’ll try to finish up things today! I was supposed to take Heather to the airport this morning but she called me last night and apparently she has a 101 fever so she won’t be going anywhere. Feel better Heather! How was your Sunday?

Today is Monday and that means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

This card all began with the urge to watercolor and evolved from there! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb. It’s gives it that nice cross stitched detail around the edge. I then masked off the edge with some Post-it Tape and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp onto it using my MISTI and Simon Says Stamp Black Ink. It’s then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The three panels are Gold Mirror Card Stock and they are adhered with Foam tape and E-Z Runner. The flower and leaves are from the Mama Elephant Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. A little more E-Z Runner adheres them to the card. My greeting is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Hello Script Creative Cuts and adhered to the flowers and leaves with Multi-Matte Medium. It really is funny how hard it is to take a good photo of a card with Mirror Card Stock on it! The greeting really stands out in real life! Masked Vintage Roses

Nice weather here again yesterday! Sunny and warm, still could be warmer but I’ll take it! I didn’t do very much yesterday, I slept which was actually nice. I did get some crafty time but not as much as I would have liked! My parent’s went to Pennsylvania yesterday and they brought back some really good old fashioned donuts! Last night I got to catch up with Michael and did some more research. It’s amazing how much knowledge you can gain from the internet! Today I definitely have some projects to get finished! I will be getting up at 4:00am tomorrow morning to take Heather to the airport. She has to go to Dallas for business overnight. Could she have picked an earlier flight?! That’s going to hurt!

Last night I had the urge to do a one layer card. I haven’t done masking in a long time so I thought that I would give it a go! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Altenew Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks and the leaves in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink. I created my mask with a piece of Masking Paper and used it over and over! By the time I was finished it didn’t have any stick left to it and was covered in ink! My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped in Onyx Black and trimmed out with my Scissors. I used some Foam Tape to adhere it to the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, I love how they look like water on the flowers! The Altenew Crisp Inks are really nice and I can’t wait to get some more colors! I hope that you enjoyed my sort of one layer card for today! Freshly Made Sketches 232

Well, the weatherman didn’t lie, it was gorgeous here yesterday! We still have a little ways to go in terms of temperatures being a little warmer but I did sit outside in the sun for a little while today and it was glorious! This morning I had one of those I don’t know where to start mornings, aren’t they the best?! I did go over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte for a little while. We had a nice little chat and I got some things to make the cards for next week’s class. Long story that we will skip! After that I hung out with Daniel and then had dinner with the fam. Today I’m hoping that it’s nice again because I want to spend some time outside! Maybe even top down warm! Fingers crossed!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Wow! Is that clean and simple or what?! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The feathers are cut out using the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies. I adhered some Washi Tape to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut two out from the front and one from the back so that they all wouldn’t face the same direction. They are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My strip of Vellum is coated on the bottom with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder. A thin strip of Foam Tape behind the line adheres it to the card. The greeting is a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Craft Die and adhered to the Vellum with more Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Silver and Sand Sequins and a few Queen & Co. Red Rhinestones Finishes of the card with a little bling! I love that Washi Tape and for the life of me I can’t remember where I got it! Washi problems! Must start labeling more things! LOL! SIP Challenge 43 – A Sketch!

So, how was your Monday? Mine was pretty good! I crafted with Andrea via FaceTime in the morning and managed to get three cards made! Love when the Mojo is flowing! It was supposed to rain yesterday but didn’t. It was chilly but sunny with a little wind mixed in for fun! I went over to my parent’s for dinner and then Danielle stopped by! I love having weekly visits from her! We chatted and listened to some music and watched some of Magic Mike XXL. After she left I ran to the bank and Target. There were of course rearranging the aisle that I needed to go down so I didn’t get much! Today I have some more crafting to get done, always a good day when there is crafting involved!

It’s Tuesday and I have my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I used a bunch of different goodies to make my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp. It’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. A piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames and I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. Some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink is applied to the Watercolor Card with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. The Gold Frame is adhered to the Acetate with Scor-Tape and some 3M Foam Tape is adhered to the back of that. I added some Gold Chunky Glitter and adhered the Watercolor Card to the back to complete the shaker. My cool flowers and vase are cut from more Watercolor Card using the Concord & 9th Bouquet Die. I used my Mini Ink Blending tool and some Q-Tips to add the Mermaid Lagoon, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber and Twisted Citron to die cut and the adhered it to the front of the shaker with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A strip of Vellum is flagged on the right and adhered to the shaker with Vellum Adhesive. My lovely is cut out twice from Ivory 110lb with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Die. More Spary Adhesive holds them to each other and a little Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the banner. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to the lovely and the card is done! I really do love that Bouquet Die and it looks even more fun with the gold glitter in the shaker behind it! Mojo Monday 443

Happy Monday! We had another lovely November like day here yesterday! Wait, it’s April! LOL! I think that Mother Nature is really confused! At least it was sunny! I made my 20 block walk to The Ink Pad in the morning and even opened up the store with Jane a little early! There were some nice people waiting outside and it was just a little too chilly to make them do that! We had a fun day like we always do! I introduced Jane to Apple Music! She’s looking forward to listening to some tuneage! I got the 6:12 train home and had a little dinner with my parents, they waited for me! Aren’t they the best! After dinner I took Winston back home and watched some TV and that was about it! A nice relaxing way to end the weekend!

The start of another week means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

I think that lately I have a slight obsession with purple! Must be trying to make up for the neglect it usually gets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of paper from the Recollections Color Splash 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles, running it through a second time to get it to the exact size that I wanted. A strip of Black 110lb is flagged on the bottom and adhered down the left side of the Vellum. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hot Mama for the hello friend and Black for the Happy Birthday. The Happy Birthday is cut out and adhered under the script hello friend and the panel is adhered to the Vellum with more E-Z Runner. All of the flowers and leaves are from the same set and are stamped in Lucky, Thistle, Hot Mama, Rosie Cheeks and Teeny Bikini. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner except for the large purple one, that’s adhered with Foam Tape. Of course I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Shamrock and Orchid Sequins! I do love the different fonts for the greeting and the nice artsy flowers! Sweet Yellow Rose Thank You

What a nice Friday I had! I hope that your’s was just as good! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and we crafted together. Later on I went over to my parent’s to see Daniel, he was a little cranky, not enough sleep was my guess. I came back home and crafted for bit more before going back to my parents to order Papa John’s online for them for dinner. Daniel does love his pizza! Around 6:30 Bill and Anthony came by to get me and we went to Friday’s for dinner. We got see our favorite waitress Meg and we had another nice guy Zach for our waiter. I had some Warm Pretzels with the Beer Cheese Dip and a Cobb Salad. For dessert Anthony and I split a Tennessee Whiskey Cake, delicious! We came back to my house and much to my surprise and happiness Anthony’s wheelchair fit through my door! Winston was very happy to see him and Bill! We chatted for a bit and then after they left I did some research on my little project. By the time I finished it was after 12:30 and time for bed! I’ll be in Manhattan at The Ink Pad with Anna today, the best way to spend a Saturday!

My card that I have for you today is a nice simple Thank You card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used some of the new The Paper Cut Gold Mirror Card Stock that I got at the show last week along with the Simon Says Stamp Ariana Wreath to cut out my wreath. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The roses are from the Clearly Besotted Sweet Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the outlines in Memento Tuxedo Black and the roses in Hero Arts Butter Bar Ink. The leaves are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and Hero Arts Forever Green Ink. I don’t have the coordinating dies so I used my trusty scissors to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some White Pearls along with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the roses and the card is finished! You can see the roses better in the second picture! I love the look of the wreath cut from the Gold Mirror Card Stock, it’s so nice and shiny! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Freshly Made Sketches 231

H A P P Y F R I D A Y T O Y O U ! I still loves me some Friday! It was a little drizzly and a little overcast and a little sunny here yesterday! Lot’s of weather in one day! I went out to Starbucks for coffee in the morning with Brian, we stayed in the store and sat and chatted for a bit. When I got back to the house I FaceTimed with Andrea and we worked on our projects. Later on I went over to my parents to see little Daniel. We had a tickle fight, I always win those! LOL! Around 5:00 Heather came and got me and we ran to BJ’s and OfficeMax. She dropped me off and I had dinner with my parents, brother and Daniel. I stopped back at my house and watched a little YouTube before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always and watched some episodes of Lip Sync Battle. Today I have some errands to run and more crafting to get done! Looks it will be a good Friday!

Some of my crafty time from yesterday made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted to play with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors again! I finished swatching them out, so nice to have a peek at all of the cool colors in there! My card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed my angle on the right of a piece of Copper Metallic Card Stock and adhered that to the front of the base. My flower is from The Ton’s Large Peonies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with Ranger Copper Embossing Powder. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color in the image wetting it first to make sure that the color moved around. The greeting is from the same set, the hello is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black and then heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The rest of my greeting is heat embossed in more Ranger Bronze on a piece of Black 110lb and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and more Fun Foam. Paper Players 289

And we are coming into the home stretch of the week! It was chilly here again most of the day but started to warm up late in the evening. We are to have some rain today but it will be warmer! I’ll take it! Yesterday I tried to have a crafty day but other things kept getting in the way! I “lost” a stamp for a while and then Taylor and Kiera came over and Taylor found it for me within three minutes! She should have been here earlier! LOL! Last night they came back over and we watched a movie. A nice way to end the day! Today I have lots of stuff to get done, wish me luck!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

It took me a while to come up with this one, I don’t have that much western stuff! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Tip Top Taupe that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Khaki Ink. My greeting is a Unity Stamp called Whiskey than Tea that I have had for a while and it’s heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler. I wrapped some Papertrey Ink Natural Twine around the panel and secured a Regals Collection Designer Button to it. The panel is then adhered to the base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My stars are Cherry Cobbler and they are cut out with Momenta Starts Cut & Emboss Dies. The right and left ones are adhered with E-Z Runner and the middle one with some Foam Tape.
