Fab Friday 22 & Sneak Peek

Hmm… let’s see what day is today?! Ahh yes… it’s FRIDAY!!!! My absolute favorite day of the week! Busy weekend ahead, block party with the peeps, major crafting to be done too! It was sort of gloomy here yesterday with the occasional rain shower. Today promises more of the same and maybe some for tomorrow too. Let’s hope not!

Today being Friday is made even more awesome because it’s Fab Friday! This time we have a color challenge for you…

Fab Fri 22 Colors 7-12-2013

When I saw the colors the last thing I thought of was a Christmas card but that’s what appeared! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped Subway style greeting and the Basic Gray star banner are form the O Holy Night Stamp Set*. I Flagged the piece of Whisper White and ran a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down each side. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. I added some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details for a little, well, sparkle! It’s a nice simple card with non-traditional colors that would be easy to make a bunch of for your holiday cards. Thanks for spending some of your Friday with me to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for the color challenge. Make sure to stop by the blog to see what the other clever designers have come up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see how clever you are! I hope you have a really good Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #94 & Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to Thursday! Just one more day to go until Friday! Work is just crazy busy and so are most other aspects of life lately but that’s ok. When work is busy the day flies by, I would like it if the nights went a bit slower! It finally rained a little here yesterday and this morning doesn’t look very promising. We had a good run! I have a block party to go to on Saturday so hopefully it will be a good day weather wise.

Today’s card – Freshly Made Sketches #94, a sketch from Linda S….

Freshly Made Sketches #94

Super clean and simple! And I think this will complete my use of the Thinlits and Pretty Print Embossing Folder for a bit! LOL! I have been a little obsessed with them both lately! The base of my card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. For the greeting I used the “thankful” Expressions Thinlits Die*, now I have shown you all three of them! I backed it with a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock that is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A very simple card that would be a great way to showcase the two new products from the 2013 Holiday Catalog at a workshop. This is also one of the rare cards that has no stamping on it. That never happens! Thank you for coming by to see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I hope that you have a good Thursday and I’ll see you tomorrow for my Create with Connie and Mary card! Enjoy your day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 50

Wednesday… that means only a week left until my little trip to Salt Lake City! It was funny because I had to call Demo Support last night and I said to Rochelle that I would see her next week! LOL! I didn’t think I would ever say that! I’m feverishly trying to get all of my projects done, we’ll see! It was another nice day here today, a little cooler which was nice. They say rain for tomorrow, hope not!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch 50…

PCCCS050 7-10-2013

I wanted a neutral, good for a guy or a girl card and this is what I came up with. The base of the card is Smokey Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of Subtles Designer Series Paper. I embossed a piece of Smokey Slate with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and backed it with a piece of Basic Gray. The heart is stamped in Pool Party with the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and is cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. For the stamped part of the greeting I used a part of a stamp from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set markered in Smokey Slate and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. The piercing is done with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. I punched the three little hearts out with the Small Heart Punch and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots. The love is from the Expressions Thinlits Dies* and is adhered with some 2-Way Glue. I told you that I liked the new Thinlits! I think you are going to love the new goodies in the Holiday Catalog! Thanks for taking some time to come and see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch Challenge. Pop on over to the blog to see my fellow designers interpretations of the sketch and enter yours in the gallery! I hope you have a great Wednesday!

Mojo 301 & Sneak Peek!

Well that was a quick Monday! I like my Monday’s like that! LOL! It was warm again today but no rain so that’s good. We are supposed to have a chance of thunderstorms here every day for a while, hopefully they will miss like they did today. Poor Mr. Winston still hasn’t recovered from the July 4th bombing. He won’t go outside after dark anymore. Hopefull he will get over it soon. Poor Mr. Winston.

Today’s post – Mojo 301, a sketch from Julee TIlman…

Today’s card has a little sneak peek in it for you. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The first layer is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Old Olive and I stamped the greeting from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip. The final layer is a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used the Ovals Framelits Collection to cut out a piece of Chocolate Chip and the image that is also from the Morning Meadow Stamp Set. The flowers are punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and some Basic Jewels Pearls are in the middles. The large flower, also from the same set, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with the Pansy Punch. A Large Pearl is in the center of it. I love when you can use holiday DSP for a non-holiday card! Thank you very much for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. I appreciate your visit and hope that you enjoy your day!

Paper Players 153 & Another Big Sneak Peek!

Is it Monday all ready?! I was having such a nice weekend! The weather was hot but gorgeous here, like summer should be! Lots of convertible time and crafty time, the best kind of weekend! I hope that all of you also had a good weekend. I have been feverishly working on swaps and projects for while I’m away at Convention. I have a ton more to do but I love it!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time around we have a Christmas in July challenge from the fabulous Ann…

Paper Players #153 Christmas In July 7-07-2013

The perfect challenge for me to use some of my new goodies from the 2013 Holiday Catalog! The base of my card today is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. While I was rummaging through my craft supplies the other day I came across the Photo Corner Punch that I had purchased from the Clearance Rack last year. You could easily recreate the look with the new Squares Collection Framelits. I used the punch with some of the new Island Indigo Textured Card Stock for the corners on my card. The stamp in the Middle is the Wonderful Wreath Stamp* and is inked in Bermuda Bay. I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to make the little red berries and cut it out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies. It’s backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I flagged on both ends. The greeting is another piece of the Island Indigo Textured Card Stock that I cut out with the new Expressions Thinlits Dies*. I love the blues and red together for Christmas, as you will remember from last year I’m not a huge fan of red and green! And the Thinlits dies will fast become a favorite of mine for sure! Thanks so much for stopping by to see my Paper Players card for this week’s Christmas in July challenge from Ann. Check out the blog to see the other designers work too! I hope you have a good Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 93 & Big Sneak Peek!

Hello peeps! How is your weekend going so far? Mine is going quite nicely. I was out yesterday in the convertible enjoying the very warm temperatures and the abundant sunshine. Last night I went down to the beach and walked along the boardwalk. There was a nice cool ocean breeze, it was quite blissful! Another very cool thing that happened yesterday, it came…

It feels official now! LOL! I’m so excited to go and it will be here before you know it! Now to really get busy. 🙂

So, today’s card uses all new products from the 2013 Holiday Catalog except for the greeting! The base of the card is Smokey Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. A piece of Pool Party goes across the middle with some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon*. The snowflake is from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set* and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies*. In the middle is Frosted Finishes Embellishment* and the picture doesn’t do it justice as to how sparkly and gorgeous it is! I backed it with some Whisper White and Costal Cabana and adhered it to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Embellished Events Stamp Sets and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. I love the new goodies in the Holiday Catalog and I’m sure that you will too. You can order from it starting August 1st! Thank you, as always, for coming by to see my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. I hope that you have a great Sunday and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for my Paper Players card. 🙂

Create with Connie and Mary 259 & Sneak Peek

Hi everyone! How’s it going today? It’s going pretty good over here. Yesterday was gorgeous, a little hot but a beautiful sunny day. I took Winston to work with me yesterday and my friend Danielle’s sister Stephanie brought their dog Dexter up. Winston and Dexter got along quite well, they played and Winston was nice and shared his toys and his water with Dexter. It was like a ghost town at work so it was nice to have the extra company.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 259…

CCMC 259

Fun and different wouldn’t you agree? The base of today’s card is So Saffron Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the new Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. The strip across the middle is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut both sides of with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. The half circle is made using the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die from So Saffron. The images are all from the Around the World Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay and So Saffron. I used the 1 1/4″ Circle punch, Hexagon Punch and Paper Snips to cut them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card. I like the bold Bermuda Bay with the subtle So Saffron and Soft Suede together. Thanks for coming by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge. Mojo 300 & Sneak Peek!

Hello and happy July 4th! It’s a little overcast here this morning but I think they said it’s supposed to clear up later. I have two BBQ’s to go to today and I’m looking forward to seeing friends and having some yummy food! What are all of you up to?

Today I have my post for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 300. WOW! 300 sketches, that’s a lot! I have participated in 80 of those 300, that’s a lot too! This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

Mojo300

I think I have said it before but I love all of the layers in the Mojo sketches! My card starts off with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used a piece of the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper for the first layer of the background and a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is flagged on the bottom for the next. The circle of Pistachio Pudding is cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the new Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. For the greeting I used the One In a Million Stamp Set, pierced around the edges and backed it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. A Subtles Designer Series Button has some Linen Thread threaded through the holes and is adhered to a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is also flagged. Some more Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit and popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new Pretty Print Embossing Folder, it goes so well with the Venetian Romance DSP paper that I picked! Thanks for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch challenge card for their 300th sketch! Here’s to the next 300! Have a safe and happy 4th! 🙂

Now on to today’s post which is my Fab Friday Design Team card. This time we have a rather neat sketch…

Fab Fri 19 Sketch 5-31-2013

This was one of those ones that I knew what I was going to use as soon as I saw it! Love when that happens! The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack and backed it with some Gumball Green. The circle is punched out from the 2 1/2″ Circle punch and backed with some Early Espresso. I choose the images form the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and stamped them in Island Indigo and Gumball Green. The greeting is from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set and is flagged and backed by some Early Espresso. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals give it a little pop. I love the Island Indigo and Gumball Green together. I think the Gumball tones down the Indigo while the Indigo gives the gumball some oomph. Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for the sketch from Fab Friday. Head on over to the blog to see the other designers work and enter your card so you can be a Fab Fave! Enjoy your Friday and don’t forget to place your orders!!

Paper Craft Crew #44 & Sneak Peek

Well, Wednesday already, that’s pretty nice! I think every Monday should be a holiday! How are things by you? Things here are good, it rained all afternoon today but we are moving along to a heat wave for the rest of the week. We are supposed to get up into the 90’s by Friday. Once again no real buffer between the seasons. It felt like October here on Saturday and a week later we are in Florida!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch #44…

PCCCS044 Sketch Theme FD 5-29-2013

A cute little sketch that at first I thought a window would be a good way to go but that was too obvious. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. The background is a piece of Raspberry Ripple that I stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Raspberry Ripple. The next layer is some Soft Suede that is embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with some Very Vanilla. All of the images that are punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch are from the new Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set* (can you tell it’s one of my favorites?!). Across the bottom is some paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack with some Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and fits with the theme of Father’s Day for this week’s sketch. I really am quite fond of the Postage Collection Set* and I’m loving the colors! Thank you for stopping by to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch. I hope you’ll take some time to check out what the other designers have for you over at the blog and upload a card of your own so wee can take a peek. Enjoy your Wednesday everyone! 🙂

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!
